Brut Oceans

For 5 euros, this is delivering more than enough value. 6 hours on top of the wrist and I can still clearly smell it and, so performance is not ridiculous as some may expect. The smell is nothing new, just takes you back. The associations with the classic shaving foam accords found in original Gillette and Nivea products is spot on. In the opening you get the original Brut hints for a few seconds but brightened up with coriander and lemon, not the bitter zest but more the sherbet/citral aspect. Then to be followed by an uplifting, clean-shave and shower direction, mainly consisting of oakmoss (Evernyl/Veramoss), tonka (Coumarin), Ambroxan, Norlimbanol and musk (could be Galaxolide). I do get vetiver and lavender too. There's clearly geranium (Geraniol), sandalwood and perhaps a bit of clove (Eugenol) to keep tha Brut-ness of it, but the main body is surely the shaving foam accord, which is super on the spot if that's what you are looking for, like I did.

Now this is an underrated gem. I'm a fan of the classics like Brut, Aqua Velva, and Old Spice having grow up with them so this was an obvious buy for me. The name doesn't describe the fragrance which is a good thing. This isn't oceanic or blue at all it's old school foam shaving cream from a can. If you're under 30 you probably won't know the scent profile I'm talking about. If you're in your 30's and up you probably used creams with that accord to shave, for pranks on Halloween, or someone older in your family shaved with one. The original Brut is there but toned down with the added shaving cream notes giving Oceans a mildly modernized take on an older men's fragrance. This is like walking into a small town US barbershop in the 80s and 90s. Can't got wrong for the price but I do wish it had better longevity as it only lasts about two hours before becoming a ghost. It does project really well though for that short period of time.

Nivea Shaving cream is the best way to describe the scent as noted below. I cannot hate this fragrance, I bought it for 5 Euros and at first I didn't know how helpful this was going to be. My cousin threw up in the car, I had to make a 1600 kilometres trip the next day and it was already 11P.M so no way to get it cleaned correctly, I had to leave the next morning at 5 A.M, this is where Brut Oceans came into play. It was strong enough to cover the smell of vomit yet wasn't headache inducing, it lasted enough into the fabric so I didn't have to reapply every hour. It sure has been ruined for me but I am thankful it was there for me when I needed it the most.

Recently got this for a very good deal. I cannot remember how Gillette Cool Wave smells like but I currently have Lomani Pour Homme and it really has similarities with Oceans. You can think of Oceans as an aquatic Lomani Pour Homme. Another fragrance that is similar with Oceans is a bodyspray that I used in the 80's by Irish Spring called ”Don”. Longevity is below average around 2 to 3 hours, but for its price, it not an issue. This is a solid like.👍

This is brilliant. It managed to save the Brut’s barbershop soul, lightened from the heavy patchouli- musk basenotes, and retaining a breezy and fresh, still cozy shave foam flavour. Modern and perfectly tuned up version. If you are not anymore comfortable in wearing original Brut, this will keep you satisfied. Pure love and ultramale. Performance could be better but for the price and use you cannot complain much

Really enjoy this one because: 1. It's unique 2. It's got character 3. It is a flanker done right, meaning it stay's true to the name of Brut despite it being a rather modern release. 4. (Some may argue, but) In my book it is a timeless fragrance just like the original Brut 5. It smells good ;-) (performance could be a little bit better) Considering the overall quality for this fragrance I give it an 8,7/10

Amazing scent, it has the classic old style masculine DNA, but adds refreshing marine notes that bring a new vibe specially for spring and summer, these perfumes are coming back into daily use for millennials and GenZ

Very nice fragrance, smells like a clean fresh citrus with oceanic breeze and shaving foam, it's more modern scent than original Brut. It's a light casual perfume that you can wear all day for every occasion.

According to the manufacturer's website, the note breakdown for this is as follows; Top Note Bergamot & Lemon Lavender Sweet Fennel & Anise Middle Note Vetiver Patchouli Sandalwood Cardamom Base Note White Amber Musk So, according to them, this is supposed to have the same anise-and-lavender combo as the original Brut EDT (which I can't stand), but when I smell it in the air, it's more lavender. Specifically, it's the type of lavender they use in health food stores as an air freshener; very floral and spicy, bordering on medicinal, with a healthy dose of shaving cream. This is very much in the family of what I call "Old-School Cool" men's aftershave fragrances, and the dry-down is absolutely lovely. For the life of me, I don't know why they called this "Oceans" though, because it has about as much to do with aquatic or blue fragrances as the original Brut does. This should sit squarely in the Aromatic Fougere family of fragrances. 100% would recommend this to anyone; it is a blind-buy safe fragrance, and given how Brut Musk and Brut Attraction Totalle are priced, I've very interested to add those to my collection.

Have EDT version 3.4 oz. and got it cheap (5 bucks) Its new but it smells older ?! its strange because somewhere i get to the point i know this. Its very OK!, its Fresh,barbershop breezy and at the same time comforting and a bit strange. The strange part is not bad ! its a good thing i like them strange. Someone described it as a shaving cream scent from Gilette Coolwave with a tad of the old brut base and this is true, only drawback to me is its longevity its short for me. Its gone in 2 hours! no sillage or projection at al after that. So APPLY and Re-apply! Im gonna use this sucker in my hot days on the beachside for a comforting day. Its way better then other Colognes in its pricerange so in that way a must have. You wont regret it ! Splash n spray it big time without feeling bad for your wallet :0) btw @ Robbie X are you sure about that YSL Pour Homme resemblance? I always find your reviews outstanding but in this case im not sure these 2 are alike ( No offense offcourse)

The first time i smelled this cheap fragrance, it transformed me immediately more than 25 yrs ago in time – the smell reminds me to some body/soap products one can buy in France or some neigbour countries of France – the specific brand “Mon Savon” has in their traditional soaps a very similar smell ( which you can also be found in some Nivea shaving gels ) – when I was a teenage boy I met a teenage girl, they used mon Savon products whenever I came close to her I could notice the smell of Mon Savon – though I never got very intimate with her, years after it will give me still a pleasant feeling, a nice reminder of my teenage years, so just for this I bought a bottle for just under €3 at a discount

I get great longevity with this on clothes! I get around 8 hours. I get a subtle waft off of my shirt towards the later parts of the duration. As far as the smell this is on the masculine side. I thought it was going to be a fresh watery styled Brut but it's not so much. The dry down is on the barbershop side. Overall it's good if you're a fan of the original Brut. This is a good fragrance worth trying for almost nothing in price. If you want something simple and masculine this is a good one to get! I would also purchase this again without a doubt if I run out. I have this in the eau de toilette, not the aftershave.

I was looking for a clean barbershop EDT that smells like Aqua Velva or Gillette, a classic blue aftershave. This scent is wonderful! It's inexpensive! UNFORTUNATELY, longevity and projection are weak. Ugh. It works better on clothing, so I'm over-spraying. Borderline worth it: balancing great scent/low price vs. weak performance.

Nice subtle Masculine scent. Despite being called "Oceans" I find to be more green and suited to springtime. Oceans will give a "fresh out of the shower" vibe before settling down to a skin scent which holds around for 2-3hours. For the money this goes for it is well worth it.

It’s Nivea for men shaving gel liquified. Nice marine soapy breeze, and super cheap! Can’t go wrong with it! It doesn’t last very long though (the after shave, don’t know about the EdT) 2 hours at most. Thumbs up!

they've preserved the classic Barber style. It has a very refreshing scent. There's a hint of aftershave lotion. It feels good and refreshing, like a fragrance from the 1990s.My review is based on EDT.

Best Brut flanker.. Very nice drydown.. Works better in summer and hot days.. Although I really enjoy this scent, I don't recommend it for formal occasions..

Love this cologne, fresh and clean. Reminds me of DVB Instinct.
