Faisan d'Or

Gorgeous! A very natural smelling orange rind on a smoky and spicy cedar base. These notes work very well together. Perfectly unisex. I agree that projection and longevity are not it's strong suits. I have been seeing a trend with most of the fragrances I love the most having this same issue. I belive it is because I am drawn to fragrances that smell natural with good quality ingreidants such as this one. I am starting to believe that this is the price you have to pay for quality such as this. For me it is worth it but if strong long lasting fragrances are high on your priority list you may want to pass. If not and you like the notes list, definitely worth sampling! It is currently a frigid Canadian winter here, I am looking forward to trying it again in warm weather. I am very happy to have fragrances to wear that won't overwhelm in the hot weather that aren't the usual freshies options.

Very well done. Smells high quality and natural. I get a brief clove-like aroma in the opening before it dries down to a smokey citrus. Doesn't project much, but lasts a while.

I get a tone of the orange although it is more of a bitter orange with the pink peppercorns and smoke. I just can’t see myself wearing this as the orange fades all that remains detectable to me is smoke. I want more nuance in my scents. This one is just too abrasive

This is definitely a fall and winter scent, what with its rich caramelized sugar, spice, and woody notes. The opening is all juicy orange and bright pink pepper with a lightly singed sugar. The suede and spice notes come in fast, along with the woods. I'm reminded of Fendi Theorema, but Faisan d'Or is even more complex. There's a subtle sweetness, and the spices add an almost savory quality (no cumin--I asked) that provides a real balance. There are a lot of things going on in Faisan d'Or, and I like all of them.

I ordered a 9ml sample of Faisan d'Or. I do like it. Quite a bit. But it is fairly light and sitting close to the skin. I wish this projected more. Overall I think it is nice. Does remind me of early October. And maybe seeing a Quail. The smell also reminds me of orange rinds or peels that have spilled on a 17th century wooden chest..
