Eau Triple Tubéreuse du Mexique

to preface, I typically stay the hell away from anything vanilla, anything lactonic, anything that could potentially smell "dated." this perfume goes against my perfumed principles. I was slightly terrified when my GF told me this is the perfume she bought from my wishlist (I forgot to scrub it from my bubblegum gourmand days.) but I do not regret that I kept it there. it's pure, unadulterated vanilla- sans the gross, tannic qualities my brain associates with it. not the bath and body works warm vanilla sugar that gave you bouts of pulmonary hemorrhaging in the middle school girl's futbol locker room. anything but that. no nauseating, alcoholic ambery foundation to help it stick around long enough and turn sour on sweaty skin. the musk doesn't do anything but give a little depth. that being said, the lasting power doesn't exceed 3 hours. there's a certain youthful quality to it, but also a timeless, vintage feel. makes me think that a young dauphine would be drenched in this during her weekly bath. also helped me realize that it was NEROLI I hated all along when turning up my nose at vintage florals. I really actually love it, layered it with another 13 and I love it even more.

Comfort in a bottle. An absolute gem. One spritz of this perfume and I am transported to a river by the meadows. It’s warm and quiet, damp but not aquatic. More dew on grass in the early morning hours. There is a honeyed sweetness to the tuberose here, unlike the almost herbal bitterness I have become familiar with in other fragrances. The sugary florals melt into rich spices- cinnamon, cardamon, vanilla pods- becoming a milky elixir. I smell the musk next, a veil of softness enveloping the entire scent. I have never had a white floral perfume that smells like this one. It is everything I want vanilla tuberose to smell like and more. While I own many perfumes, this is the one I find myself constantly reaching for. Definitely more of a skin scent as it sits close to my neck and hair, but it lasts surprisingly well for a watery emulsion. My lover always sniffs me more when I have this one on. I can see myself wearing this beauty for years and years.

I absolutely LOVE this perfume! It is water based, yet it delivers! It is a very creamy, very buttery, truly milky sweet lush white floral blend of a perfume, with a touch of musk in the base. It is warm and creamy, tropical and plush, and just melds with skin. The Tuberose note is that sweet stage of bloom, it has Milky coconut though not listed and creamy natural vanilla, the melange of fruity notes is in the style of tropical fruit and makes it well rounded. I spray this with abandon on my skin and hair (note it is a milky fluid, not clear). The bottles I must say are stunning, the labels ..the box the details, beautiful. I find this very much a natural fragrance all round, not a typical tuberose, but it is my new signature.

I am in love with this scent! Reminds me of Milk by Commodity but replace the spicy woody notes with a smooth, silky rose. You need to go against what every perfume "pro" taught you and rub this into the skin to get the full effect of the fragrance. Without rubbing it in, you get strong powdery floral notes, but after it becomes warm, milky sweet floral that makes me keep smelling my wrists like a freak haha. I personally cannot smell this on myself after a couple hours, but I have gotten compliments throughout the day when I hug people and such. There is an oil version of this as well that I am sure amplifies the silage and longevity and is extremely well priced.

Usually don’t like tuberose but this is just something completely different. It’s a warm, clean, earthy tuberose. The vanilla is not what most people think of, it’s not a cupcake or a gourmand vanilla, it’s a natural kind of vanilla that blends so well with the tuberose it just gives this milky, ethereal skin scent. The body oil is absolutely divine as is the body milk and I will be getting my grubby mits on this perfume soon.

Creamy, sweet, gelato and fruits. An eye-rolling fragrance for me. I completely forget that Eau Triple formulas require us to rub the fragrance as the heat unlocks the strength of the perfume. Before I rubbed my wrists, the perfume would be more linear smelling and soft. But after rubbing, peppery and spicy notes came out and the sillage and longevity boosted. I also love spraying it in my hair as it clings on quite well

I have the body oil of this and its like haute-bubblegum secret guilty pleasure. I adore it and am so happy I blind bought it. It just makes me happy in a really simple way. Its not cloying or suffocating, rather gently sweet and complex, rich and buttery, enveloping but airy at once— maybe because its the body oil so the whole thing is a bit collapsed and simplified. Joy in a bottle.

Soft and delicate tuberose with a hazy vanilla backdrop. It’s very pleasant and works for any occasion; I think this is because the indolic qualities of the tuberose are softened and the vanilla is not too sweet, making it appropriate for everyday. It’s got a velvety sweetness that reminds me of my mom’s garden in the Mediterranean (unfortunately not Mexico).

If heaven were a beach it would smell like Buly’s gorgeous rendition of the tuberose flower. I love it in the perfume, the body oil and the lotion, all of which carry a faint undertone of sunscreen (in the most gorgeous way possible). This screams summer to me, I’m absolutely addicted.

Smells extremely similar to my nose as Diptyque's Do Son EDP. Both give me that suntan lotion vibe in the opening and drydown is similar, with a creamy Tuberose. I'd say Diptyque has a stronger silliage but also a bit more "overpowering". I look forward to wearing this one is summer!

A gentle milky, tutti frutti, tuberose. It really does bring to mind a midnight swim on a balmy night in the tropics. Very delicious indeed, but maybe a little too white floral for me!

Should be loathsome: big, blowsy, sweet, ultrafemme, vanilla-heavy, and TUBEROSE, woooahhh - a note which scares and can repel me. But as it turns out: the super-natural-feeling Buly water-perfume treatment is just the ticket to tame this often bullying flower. Unlike the others in the line (nearly all too weak 'n watery for my satisfaction), this comes on big and strong, easily filling a room from the first super-fine spritz. Grand beach vibes roll in on waves of almost-coconut, creamy, lulling, friendly but not over-pushy tuberose. Moments of hesitation as it's all just so purely tuberosey. Yet - somehow - they've bated the bite of this big beast (nearly a bete noire) - to turn a turbulent screechy diva into an entirely mellow, sophisticated but laidback, organic-garden delight. Feels relaxed, truly botanical, nearly alive; while some tropic-tuberoses choose to cool those huge petals down with a mentholated feel, this does a clever trick and goes the other way, with the cloves warming things up, giving a sense of sunbaked soil at the roots of the flower. One of the closest scent approximations around of that intoxicating, insanely heady aroma of real, waxy-white, dewy-fresh tuberose flowers at dusk. It's really genuine, and genuinely good - a totally different league from the plague of vulgar, yelling, hyper-sweetened fake tuberose scents at other points of the market. Despite the huge initial impact, it calms down fast, leaving a mellow and fertile-smelling aura around on skin for up to 6h; unlike some other Bulys, doesn't seem to survive much longer if you try putting it on clothes. But that discreet fade is, again, just the right tactic - with a calm, amiable stroll to the end of the beachy boardwalk. Really does the business. And this comes from a former tuberose-phobe: after years of unbridled hatred of anything even MENTIONING tuberose, after so many years of it just kicking my nose in and making me feel ill ... I'm cured. Saw the light (or to be precise, smelled the joy) after sniffing first the fresh blooms, then Dusita's subtle and clever Melodie d'Amour, and now this. So - it's hallelujah, I guess? If you're already a tuberose and/or all-naturals fan, then this is almost guaranteed to please.

This is a vanillic and then slightly fruity tuberose perfume, with a hint of spice from the cloves in the mix. Despite these bold notes though, I found this perfume quite lacking in sillage and I found the smell somewhat faint. I also feel like there is a bit too much vanilla in here drowning out some of the intensity of the aroma of the tuberose note in this. I also found the fruity touches slightly too much. I find Eau Triple Tubéreuse du Mexique a very feminine perfume though and it definitely has a lot of class, sophistication and creaminess to it. I feel like it is tuberose done in a polite manner and with most of its animalic nuances heavily muted. It could be worn all year round and one could apply it both during the day and during the night. The bottle is beautiful, too! I ended up with a decent wear of about 6 hours on my skin, with it turning into a skin scent at the 4 hours mark. Because of all of the above, I'd give this scent a 7/10 and it's not quite good enough for me to purchase it for myself personally.

A beautiful and soft tuberose scent, as someone who hates roses and everything related to roses (except for rose hip), this is light, very classic girly, like a delicate vintage porcelain doll in an expensive miniature house brushing her hair while getting ready for bed. NOT a summer fragrance. I wouldn never call this "beachy" or wear it to the beach or during a hot day as it would feel too sweet. Of course it's sweet since it's tuberose, but I don't smell the fruity notes, definitely not candy! This doesn't smell modern! As the official website states, the fragrance contains only tuberose, vanilla and a touch of musk, Ylang and spices. This scent has some maturity to it and I don't know why it's not being represented. I'm really confused as to why the Buly 1803 section is so neglect by Fragrantica, besides the missing iconic fragrancs like Oud Medina (the best Buly scent), it seems the ingredients list is just completely wrong.

I think about this one a lot. I used to repeat buy the body oil in Tubéreuse de Mexique before I went rogue one day and regretfully bought a different scent instead, longing for it to run out so I could return to the comfort of this particularly gentle scent. So often, tuberose can be overly bold or bubblegum-leaning, but this is just angelic; soft with vanilla, no notes particularly sweet or loud. It’s not a sexy tuberose, it’s a wholesome one. Just wish the water formulas of Buly perfumes would last longer on me.

Sweet and beachy, it's intoxicating in a way a fresh baked pastry is but make it cinnamon rose milk panna cotta. There's also a refreshingly youthful quality to it that i admit did get old after a year or so. But I think back on it fondly! She's that summer girlfriend fling.

I do like this, but not as much as I had hoped. As brought up, this is a water based eau de parfum. One would think, like with the other scents released by the brand, this would create a more personal and close-to-the-skin experience. In a way, this is true for TdM. In another, it's suffocating and actually far too strong for what it is. Tuberose is often portrayed in a strong, creamy way. This can be said here, and it doesn't translate particularly well on MY skin. I love tuberose. I love the flower, the scent and the fragrances based around it - usually. Something normally done in tuberose scents isn't done here and I suspect it may be the lacking of other white florals or lighter, watery fruits to even out the overbearing creamy aspects of the flower. There may be a bit of gardenia, but it's darned near undetectable. Pairing this creaminess with a touch of spice (may be clove, but I suspect there may be star anise too), it is ... unusual. The vanilla enhances this creaminess, but adds a bit of dryness. Not particularly flattering in my opinion. The fragrance that I expected to love is instead, sadly, the one I liked the least. It's not a 'dislike', but it sure as hell isn't a love - or even close, really.

Hearing that it was a "water based" perfume I wasn't expecting much. I was expecting a weak cologne type of scent that is diluted and doesn't last, however I've tested it recently over the past weekend and was positively surprised. I've been a lover of the tuberose/gardenia type of scent and have tested hundreds of these scents over the past few years trying to find the "perfect" one. I've tried all varieties of Tuberose perfumes from green, creamy, bubbly-gummy, heady, sweet, cloying, diluted, transparent etc.. This is probably one of the most, if not the most, realistic, delicious and natural tuberose I've ever smelt. It's creamy, buttery, velvety, and sweet all at the same time without ever, becoming overwhelming or too thick and viscous, which a majority of tuberose scents can tend to become. So if you're looking for a delicious mouth-watering tuberose scent bursting with milky sweetness this one is for you. Think of this one as lite milk whereas stronger tuberose scents such as Fracas can be compared to condensed milk.

A very nice tuberose fragrance. It opens up very sweet and bubblegummy, and I thought it was going to be a crowd pleasing, boring, sweet white floral. But as it develops, it becomes much more interesting. In the heart, the tuberose becomes much richer and more layered. It has a bit of a mothball indolic feel. It also feels quite humid and maybe even peaty/rainforest floor. The clove comes through strongly for a spicy accent. There's also a whiff of something like the smell of whipped frosting from a grocery store sheet cake. Tubereuse de Mexique is very similar to two other green, tropical, heady white florals I've tried: Madagascan Jasmine by Grandiflora and Jasmin de Pays by Perris Monte Carlo.
