Weekend for Men

1998 CITRUS & Near-Mint Scent with Oakmoss, Sandalwood & Musk by Michel Almairac. In the first couple of minutes before the spray dries, I can feel the mandarin with ivy swelling through. Once the spray dries and the sillage starts to open up, I get a collage of citruses with aromatic, green & ozonic tones swelling through from ivy & oakmoss. The effect here in the opening is citrus & nearly-mint, and is reminiscent of another scent likely by Michel Almairac, Roma Laura Biagiotti, but diverges as it's drying down. As it transitions to the heart a gorgeous sandalwood also emerges as support for the citrus, followed by musky amber-honey as it's drying down. The longer it dries down, the muskier it gets, and closer to scents like CK One Calvin Klein & Chrome Azzaro. Contrast to CK One Calvin Klein: These are different, but there are similarities with lemon, bergamot, mandarin, pineapple, green notes, oakmoss, sandalwood, musk & amber. The openings are quite different, but into the dry down, these two become more and more similar, Both have a light average performance for spring-summer wear. Overall: citrus & near-mint scent that becomes a musk scent in the late drydown. average performance for a light summer wearing experience. This would also be great for layering on top of deeper scent in fall & winter. Enjoy!

After reading several reviews of this frag i had to go and look for my bottle which i had not seen for some time. My wife just loves to tidy stuff away in the most perculiar places lol, finally found it. Good job she is on holiday in philippines seeing family as i have some tidying up to do after my search. I had forgotten just how good and unique this stuff is, for me this is all about the Ivy mixing with the citrus. with ivy out front and centre, i find it quite linear and thats good because i do like linear fragrances. its has very good performance and this is my 2nd bottle having had the original for a xmas present back in 97, didnt make the same mistake as i did with Yardly original which was my signature scent before it and did not get a backup bottle then only to find yardley had gone bust and not a drop i could find:( so weekend became my signature scent. iv just ordered a 3rd bottle just to make sure of having it around.. good warm weather frags are hard to come by and i do find the modern summer frags loaw there smell quickly for what they cost. So if you are looking for something that has good performance for the spring summer and autumn you could do a lot worse. and lets face it is good value at aroung the £20 pound mark for 100ml, dont buy if you like sweet frags as this definately not sweet.

I'm one of those that like Weekend, in spite of its weakness. And because of this weakness/lightness, I'm really shocked that so many people could find it so terrible, as opposed to just generic. It's like a subtle but expensive lemon soap, very natural-smelling, that leaves a light green skin musk afterwards, with a drop of honey. It's really calming to use like an Eau de Cologne on the hottest days, and I think it would be very hard to overspray this stuff. I'd place it in the same family as the ever popular Live Jazz (i.e. unsweet citrus with herbs and greenery for the base) but it's less heavy on the herbs. Thus, Weekend might be good if you can't take the cilantro in Live Jazz. Or you might even think of it as a lemon counterpart to Eau d'Orange Verte. I've been on a recent body wash kick, and Weekend's is very refreshing...it "translated" better into the body wash than many of the others that I bought. Overall, Weekend has an old-fashioned EdC-like feel to me, but not the odd and archaic sense that some of the really old EdCs (Caswell-Massey #6) give me. It's among the more "english gentlemanly" of its type among the recent ones, but still feels contemporary.

This is my all time favorite scent. Make a list and it is a number 1. Here's why. I personally buy perfume based on my feelings, not on the scent or how they perform. When i was young, like very very young, my friend's sister used this one. Yes, the for men version. She is very pretty but her style is free-spirited and fearless/carefree personality. I adored her so much and this Burberry weekend and Tommy girl are always on her vanity. I saw her spraying one or two before she's going out. She is always smelling so good. And this is the first scent that made me into the world of fragrance. Every time I wear this, it's always bring back to my childhood. A good memory. A loving past. How many weekend bottle i used? 7 and I still have two 100ml as a backup. I love Citrusy fragrance so this is the number one, all the time. I don't care about whether the weather is hot or cold. But however, I might have 20 bottles to wear based on the occasions, but if it is weekend, this is one, there is no other.

I love this one. Found a small bottle at Marshall's for 25 bucks. Liked it so much I ordered a bigger bottle. Burberry Weekend will never be the darling of the critics, but for what it is, it's a rather pleasant surprise. Yes it's light and citrusy. Yes it's a department store fragrance. But, it is most certainly not an aquatic clone. It's far better than D&G's Light Blue and Light Blue Living Stromboli. And it's far better than much of the Gatorade garbage masquerading as sport flankers. I like this more than any of the other Burberry offerings, which to me are so ordinary and lacking in imagination that they surely must have been designed by a committee of mail room clerks. Update 2015 Two years later and this little gem brings me no end of joy. On my third bottle. It's so incredibly cheery that it never fails to lift my mood. It's sophisticated in a very gentle way. It's bright, sunny, and friendly. I just love this endlessly charming, endearing little treasure.

This citrusy fragrance is kind of harsh and instantly recalled for me the type of cologne that I have found and used in aircraft toilets, though I need to spend more time with it to work out if I like it. UPDATE: I'm using this regularly now, and the stand out ingredients are the lemon, ivy, and sandalwood. It has an excellent atomiser which is just as well as I found that I have to spray quite heavily to get any longevity over 2 hours. All in all, I identify this as an above average (due to its uniqueness) daytime warm weather easy wearing fragrance, although I suspect it could work well in cold weather too, that's unfortunately thwarted by mediocre performance. Nonetheless, it gets my fairly strong recommendation. BTW, there's a Johnson & Johnson Cologne for babies with a yellow label that smells very similar to this :)

The first time I tried it, it was summer, and I loved it right after one puff. You could really smell the bright citrus, but it's not linear or cheap, rather clean. It smells really vintage, and then you get some of the green, like the ivy and the oakmoss. I find it to be a mix of spice and citrus (although it doesn't mention any spice-related notes). Someone said it smells vintage, and I couldn't agree more. It feels clean and relaxed: like playing golf on the weekend, having a hearty brunch, and then chilling by the beach all day. HOWEVER, THE LONGEVITY IS CRAPPY. Like it projects an hour at max with a moderate sillage and then turns into a skin scent that lasts another 3-4 hours. But, if you're okay with re-spraying, you would love this perfume if you like clean, crisp citrusry scents with a hint of spice and green.

I purchased Burberry weekend near October end 2023. It was a blind buy. I was looking for some good citrus fresh fragrance and the store keeper suggested me this one. Launched in year 1990, this perfume has survived decades and still managing good sales. The main reason is the configuration of the scent. The notes in this perfume beautifully transition from citrus green to warm sweet woody accord, just exactly how a perfume should be designed. Beginning with citrus staying with florals for a while before drying down to mossy sandalwood. This ticks all boxes. Unlike modern day perfumery which is lot complicated and experimental this perfume keeps it simple and straight. It keeps the wearer fresh n fragrant for good 5-6 hours. *BURBERRY WEEKEND* PS: The new bottle is slick and black metal cap looks elegant.

Weekend is so uplifting and sunny. I just love it! The combo of citrus and green ivy notes is wonderful as a summer cologne. When it gets over 105 degrees here this is one of the few fragrances I can tolerate because of the refreshing notes. Unisex for sure- great wake up in the morning, rejuvenating fragrance. Or great for freshening up in hot weather. Smells botanical like lime or lemon verbena, and a bit grassy too, like fresh cut grass. Longevity ok, sillage very close after an hour. One of the best fresh, green citrus unencumbered by too many other notes. Lovely! Ps. Amazing for layering. Brightens or greens up any fragrance that needs a lift or is lovely paired with a fruity body butter. Another member mentioned this as a way to femme it up a bit and it really is a great complement.

Burberry Weekend For Men EDT 100ml provides one of my favourite perfume "moments'. It hits the nose with a power punch of olfactory heaven but then almost instantly disappears in a puff of disappointment. I paid $40 Australian at Chemist Warehouse. Considering it has practically zero staying power, I think that $10 would suffice. John Varvatos Artisan Pure has a lot in common with this perfume, but with much greater sillage and longevity. So, although Burberry Weekend For Men EDT is a love for me, it is only a 2/10 love. Edit. 5 months later, and this has matured considerably. Sillage is actually noticeable now, and longevity is measurable in hours rather than minutes. I shall buy another bottle even though the price is now $60 Australian. Happily it is now a 7/10 love for me.

I just came on here today to sing the praises of this fragrance from a female perspective in the summer. When my husband wears this in the summer I get whiffs of the most amazing breezy, grassy scent. It smells like sunshine and greenery. So lovely and really matches his “days off” personality. Makes me go aaaahhhh....has a joyful vibe. I love to spray it on myself sometimes when I want an unsweetened citrus. I think of it for summer but he tends to like fresh lighter scents year round. It never turns harsh and nose stinging like some citrus scents can. I’ve decided this is in my top 5 favorite men’s cologne scents.

I can't rate this highly enough. I've been buying this since around 2003. I know it gets a bad rap online, but I find it to be one of the best fresh Spring/Summer fragrances you can buy! If you get out of the shower and apply this, you'll feel and smell fresh and clean for the rest of the day. It performs fantastic as well. Today for example I applied this around 6.30am.. I received 2 comments at work praising it. It's now 8.42pm and it's still projecting!! I've got 3 fresh genre Creed fragrances in my collection, and they don't come close to Burberry Weekend on many levels.. and this cost £15 for 100ml! Perfect!!!!

This is such a happy citrus. Very refreshing and unisex, not “cologney.” Smells shockingly similar to my Mrs. Meyers Clean Day lemon verbena hand lotion. Botanical and green. After the first hour, that green note creeps in and I’m smelling like I rubbed an actual broken off part of a lemon verbena plant on my wrist. Grassy and warm with the oak moss and honey to weigh it down. Both my husband and I use this. It’s inoffensive at work. Would anyone even think you were wearing cologne/perfume? Doubt it. They might think you used lemon verbena hand lotion!

Honey'd Pineapple Lemon Candy. (2008 Bottle) Starts off very refreshing and bright with the citruses with some "oily/thick" honey texture. This overall creates what I perceive as "pineapple". Scent is pretty linear once the very volatile citrusy molecule goes away pretty quickly. Safe blind buy, which sometimes translates to "boring and uninspiring", but also "relaxing and pleasant". Cheap pick-up; decent performance. Garnered numerous compliments which I rarely get.

I really love this. All I can ever find near me w/o risking online sales has been over the years just i 30mls...this has involved me buying 3! Someday, now that I do see it floating 'round at Winners in larger sizes...but you know? I don't think I've ever got a compliment. At the call center I worked at years ago, the guy's couldn't get into it. Said it smelled like a woman. This didn't stop me. And...maybe, it sorta does smell like it could be unisex...

I know it's for men(I'm not), I like this very much. I love this citrus and woody scent. They're really good on my skin. Although my friend said that It smells like a handsome "guy" when I was wearing it. well I took that words as a compliment haha. I think it's good for women too. So try it! If you like citrus and woody scent. It may be too sweet for men at first. But when it's mixed on your skin, it turns into really good smells.

On my skin this smells exactly like suntan lotion. Take Bath And Body Works's Poolside/Sun Tan candle and make it into a fragrance and this would be it. I'm so glad that I found this. I love this smell. It reminds me of the summer and swimming in a pool with lots of chlorine in hot weather. I will update on longevity and projection. So far though this is more of a comfort scent than something I'd wear to get someone's attention.

The other day I layered this with Police Wings and the results were amazing ! I brought Police Wings because it was cheap and I always have a bottle of Burberry Weekend as it was my first ever fragrance. It was a beautiful combination, I have always liked layering scents as they become more personal, and this combination was really earthy and green smelt a bit like freshly cut grass with a bit of spice ! lovely ! :-)

Es un exquisito perfume,tónioo, fresco, ideal para el verano.Siempre tengo un frasco para cuando empiezan los días cálidos en mi país y amo ponermelo en todo el cuerpo. Sus notas frutas y de miel y ámbar le dan un toque sensual irresistible para quienes me preguntan que perfume llevo. Altamente recomendable. En piel dura aproximadamente 4 hs en mi caso, por eso lo reaplico para mantener la magia!

Very citrusy! I get the citrus notes and the Ivy the most. It's slightly sweet too. This has a unique 90's vibe to it. This is another citrus lovers dream right here. I also get maybe a slight powdery smell and a little woods. It isn't like other fragrances I've smelled. This is worth having if you're on the fence. This could also be unisex. Very nice in my opinion! I give this a 91/100.
