A surprisingly addicting sweetly fresh warm woods. But really, it's a shapeshifter. Every bottle I've owned is slightly different than the last. Some highlight the vanilla and citrus sweetness, emulating orange creamsicle or lemon bars. Other bottles emphasize the fir needle more; giving it that touch of green and lime and earthy woody freshness. Those bottles have a greener tint in the juice, and that's my preferred iteration. No matter the mix, the natural orange and lemon and fir needle oils are a lovely pop of life. The brightness of bergamot or neroli shifts into soft fresh sweetness and a lasting warmth. I'm generally not a fan of vanilla in fragrance and I typically avoid it — but against all odds, this has become a staple. Without the vanilla, this fragrance wouldn't have that sweet warmth. I'm always on the hunt for arid-but-fresh warm citrus woods. When I can't find what I seek and hit a wall, I often come back to Lake. It's a welcome retreat for my fragrance-sensitive nose. Not loud, but that's what I love. It doesn't enter a room before you do and it doesn't have a heavy perfume cloud. It just smells nice and fresh and pleasant. This is a natural, happy, relaxing warm wood.

I really love this one. I got the sampler pack and really loved this one. I am hoping that the EDP would be more fragrant than the oil, but am scared to spend the money if its not, because the scent from the oil is very weak in sillage and longevity (I have found this to be true with some of their other scents too...and the reviews on the website are stellar for this scent, so I'm hopin'). The scent is reminiscent of my childhood home, somehow...and I love it. May be worth it just for that. Vanillic, citrus and woody. If anyone has experience with the EDP please let me know how it wears :) Edit : I bought it. Love the smell but I have to spray is about 50 times to get a faint aroma that lasts a couple of hours :( will not be repurchasing. Edit edit: Just kidding. I will be repurchasing. I love this scent SO much. I wish wish wish byrosiejane could make this a bit stronger, but otherwise it is my most perfect scent.

The scent is gorgeous. It smells like lemon powdered sugar girl scout cookies, lemon meringue pie, pine trees, and the woods. I've seen other reviews say it smells like lime but to me it smells more like lemon. Lake is such a refreshing perfume. A little bit of the citrus dissipates after a couple hours but the pine and sweet vanilla stay throughout the entirety of the fragrance. The lasting power is unfortunate, but is far better on clothes and hair than on skin. The liquid is also quite oily just like all of By Rosie Jane's perfumes. That isn't something that bothers me but it's worth noting. The scent is so incredible that its at the top of my wishlist despite its poor longevity. Layering this with the oil may help but I haven't tried that yet. Update: I was able to try G Water today and I can confirm that they are similar.

My favourite scent is Gypsy Water, so I was pleasantly surprised by how similar the dry down is on both of these. The main difference for me is the opening. Gypsy water has the cool spicy opening, pine needles and smoky incense. Lake opens with a slightly screechy lemon, but quickly settles into the same warm woody vanilla base as GW. If you’re looking for a more affordable alternative to GW, I think this is the best option. Much more similar than Tocca Colette, which is far more powdery and floral to my nose. Edit: I’ve since bought this fragrance and really love it in its own right. A very easy fragrance to wear and with such an amazingly similar dry down to Gypsy Water (at a lower price). I feel much more comfortable over spraying this one!

Initial spray I was immediately reminded of Tocca Colette & Byredo G Water. However, there are some key differences that actually leave me preferring Lake! Colette is a bit more powdery overall but is a scent I have loved for years. While G Water has a peppery note in the opening that gives it a much more commanding presence. Lake however has a soft citrus in the opening that highlights the vanilla and neroli in such a lovely way. It is the orange in a creamsicle that somehow makes the vanilla even better. I adore Lake and want to buy it in every form. The only thing I would change is the longevity. HOT TIP: Wear with Lush Therapy Massage Bar. The scent goes SO WELL together and makes it last so much longer.

I love a good skin scent and this one delivers! When I want to smell good without smelling like "perfume" this is what I reach for. It's just a calming, soft, smooth, freaking beautiful scent. I used to have Gypsy Water and I do find this smells very similar to that, only Lake is a bit better. More feminine and sweet. There's something nostalgic in the way this smells - almost like how a babydoll's head smelled back in the day. There's definitely an innocence to this perfume but at the same time there's something alluring and sensual about it. Like being at a carnival at night with your new boyfriend. Playful, sweet and sexy. It's a very soft vanilla citrus, nothing sharp or overbearing. 10/10

When I first sprayed this on my wrist, I swear my pupils probably dilated with delight. It’s so beyond lovely. It’s delicately beautiful. It’s somehow fresh, fruity & fantastically warm all at the same time. It feels like this scent would make the ultimate best impression. It wouldn’t offend any nose. Upon first spray I got bergamot, citrus fruits, VANILLA, a fresh, herbal green note, and then a lovely sandalwood finish lingering with the vanilla. I’m usually not a fan of sandalwood at all, but this is different. It’s so pleasant and feels high quality. My only wish is that it lasted a little longer and projected a bit more. Regardless it’s one of my favorite scents ever.

If you’re a fan of Gypsy Water, D&G Devotion or even Lush’s Super Milk, you’ll likely enjoy this. It starts off quite citrusy but it becomes much more of a creamy, sweet citrus and vanilla upon dry down. It’s zesty, in a vanilla + candied citrus way while somehow still being very soft and pretty. While you can definitely smell the vanilla, it’s not super vanilla forward like you might expect as it has an airy quality to it, plus the neroli and lemon keep it quite fresh. This is a great summer scent but could be worn year round. I love to wear this with by Rosie Jane’s Dulce when I want to make it sweeter. Amazing combination.

This scent is my favorite smell I have found so far, but it only lasts a very short while. I think 2 hours is the most that it lasting on skin and maybe 4 on clothes, but it somehow did stay on my coat so I don't know why that it is. This has been described as lemon icing or creamsicle. It does have that scent, but the sandalwood makes if feel like eating a creamsicle while wearing diamonds. Its so fresh and sparkling. Lake is fresh, sparkling, beautiful, and peaceful. I think I have sadly concluded that it is gone too fast to be worth the price, but I cant stop smelling it.

So this is my new favourite fragrance and I can tell it’s going to stick for awhile. If you like creamy citrus but also something that has a masculine undertone, this is for you. It dries down to such a gorgeous unique scent almost like if your boyfriend baked a lemon pie and had put on a sexy men’s deodorant like hours before. It’s very subtle, super sophisticated, and like nothing I’ve ever smelled. I literally cannot stop smelling myself when I wear this. It’s perfectly sexy but also personal and appropriate. I could go on.

Just like my beloved gypsy water but more cost effective so I don't mind spraying with abandon. Sweet, woody, a touch gourmand. Like a warm hug, one of those scents that melts stress and makes you want to curl up in a blanket. This is perfection. Moderate sillage and long lasting on my skin. I notice the spray is a bit oily? Maybe that's why it lasts on me. Recommend to other gypsy water lovers.

This was a love at first sniff for me. While I wouldn't describe this scent as full on gourmand or too sweet, it still reminded me of a certain orange cream cookie I ate as a kid. I don't get lemon or citrus zest; it's mostly orange flavoring in the best way possible. If you want to smell like a sexy orange creamsicle, this might be it.

It’s funny how scents sit so differently on people! A lot of reviews on this one are saying how sweet the citrus is here, almost like a creamsicle smell. For me this is such a woody, airy, citrus scent. I do agree with others that it is a perfect year-round fragrance. Longevity isn’t amazing on me, but it’s perfect for an everyday wear!

Why does no one talk about this?! I just discovered it and it may very well become my signature scent. It’s everything I want in a fragrance. Citrusy, woody, slightly sweet and creamy. It lasts all day on my skin and I get whiffs of it throughout the day. So good.

She smells like a creamsicle or a light lemon loaf. Creamy vanilla with a light citrus blend makes this delightful and different from other vanilla scents. Love! A favorite from the By Rosie Jane sample set I got. I love Dulce as well, but this is a lot lighter.

up to the nose, it smells like a photo-realistic lemon icing, specifically the one on the starbucks lemon loaf! it's a delicious gourmand to me, i don't quite get the cedar or sandalwood but i do love to layer it with jo malone wood sage and sea salt

If you look at the ingredients list on the by Rosie Jane website the notes aren’t exactly reflective of what is listed. There is (in order of most concentrated): Fir Needle Oil Ambroxan Orange Peel Oil Lemon Peel Oil Vanillin Iso e Super

Woody, airy, citrus. My second favourite by rosie jane scent (Dulce being my fav). A lovely light woody scent that reminds me of walking to dinner in the warmth after spending the day at the lake.

By Rosie Jane are perfect fragrances for those sensitive noses and don't bring on headaches if you suffer from that issue. They're all quite light and airy. This one's a citrusy lemon and vanilla.

this scent just makes me so happy, I get the lemon vanilla and sandalwood. and like most by Rosie Jane scents it’s perfect for everyday and never sets off my asthma.
