Quite underwhelming. Sure, it smells nice. If you are looking for a slightly more refined, smoother Acqua di Gio edt then this is it. You could throw a dart at a TJ Maxx fragrance bin and hit something that smells similar to this for a tiny fraction of the cost. I really wish a brand like Louis Vuitton would take a crack at this dna, they really know how to take a fragrance like this to that next luxurious level. Beautiful bottle, though! Just gorgeous! **UPDATE** Ok, after several straight day of wearing this, I have to admit this stuff is pretty awesome! It has a woodsier/acquatic smell I reallllly like, and the surprising thing is that despite wearing this in high heat, it has surprisingly good longevity. I'm sorry, Blue Moon Ginger Dash, I judged you too hastily and I think you are a very good fragrance to wear especially out in the heat. Gonna have to pick me up a bottle of this!! **UPDATE #2** I've done it...I've added this to my top 5 out of the 600+ bottles/samples I own. Just wow! This is my new favorite summer time fragrance. Just blown away at how this transitions throughout its lifespan and am still very surprised at the longevity I get out of this. Absolute picture perfect summer fragrance! Bravo, Kilian, bravo!

Remember the old school designer aquatics that you had to respray every few hours? Specifically, Bvlgari Aqva and that seaweed note in profondo lights? Well, Blue Moon is an olfactory trip down that memory lane, but with longevity (two sprays on my wrist and its still prevalent 10 hours later.) You'll instantly recognize the watery watermelon and seaweed notes. Those eventually morph into a subtle ginger and some sparkling musks which are the star of this show. There isn't any fish or other funky notes, disregard the haters, theyre lying to you. And hour into the wear, this actually starts smelling fantastic in the air. In 2005, this would've been the Rolls Royce of those popular aquatics that never delivered any performance. In 2023, I can probably live without it at this price point. If I would’ve listened to people on this forum I would’ve missed out on the best from the liquors line I absolutely love blue moon it arrived last week and I must say it’s fruity fresh with a hint of vodka and something else I just can’t put my finger on it. If you would take vodka on the rocks with roses on ice you get blue moon! The crazy part is I don’t like vodka on the rocks or roses on ice but blue moon is the perfect balance of the two it’s not sweet its just fresh juicy fruits on my skin it’s very unisex but my husband think it’s feminine but he’s weird like that but he said it smell good though. I regret not buying two. If you get the opportunity don’t sleep on this one because it’s a limited edition you don’t want to miss out on this gorgeous fragrance and the bottle is just beautiful. I am glad to make her my 24th bottle even though I would’ve had 26 but I gave my husband vodka on the rocks and straight to Heaven.

Yes. It’s expensive. I get it. But it’s fantastic. I think 70% Y Eau Fraiche and 30% Platinum Egoiste. It’s a beautiful union of the two. And it definitely out performs both. That makes it worth the high cost to me. My Y Eau Fraiche barely gets used because it’s overspray the shit out of it or it’s gone in an hour. My Platinum Egoiste gets used a lot more but doesn’t have the zesty cold lemony smell this has that I love. A freshie that performs well is super hard to find (take some notes Creed). This fits the bill. Absolutely zero regrets buying this and will always have a bottle for spring and summer use. Edit: I’ve gotten more compliments from this perfume than anything else I wear. No idea how this can be rated so low unless haters are hating on the price. It’s mass appealing, inoffensive, obviously niche quality greatness. Haters gonna hate what they can’t afford I guess.

This is a wonderful freshie. I love this scent. I think the bad rating this has on fragrantica is due to the calone note, which is extremely subjective. Ive heard some finds this fishy smelling. I dont get that at all - i get an extremely fresh, watery citrus. Its unlike anything ive smelt, its almost too fresh. Get your nose on this asap, its incredible. Some people also finds this boring, but i really dont get that. It smells so lovely and unique. This is an exclusive summer fragrance in my opinion, it’s way to fresh and bright for spring. As for the performance, it’s a little dissapointing. It sits close to skin with moderate longevity. It’s definetly an oversprayer It’s a little pricey but if you want a unique and fresh scent for the summer and have a good budget definetly cop this one. Also the bottle is the most gorgeous bottle ive ever seen

#1762 in my “Tour de Fragrance” Continuing my exploration of ginger scents. Looking at the “Reminds me of” section above I clearly appreciate this one more than a lot of people given the 3.89 rating, but comparing any Kilian to Nautica “Voyage" is just cruel. I’m not a fan of the barely mediocre performance of Bvlgari’s "Aqva Pour Homme Marine” or Kenzo “Homme Sport”, but I like thos scents, which come closer to this than Nautica. I’m surprised there’s no mention of popular similars like Armani "Code Sport”, YSL “Y Eau Fraiche.” But Le Chameau “Desert Angel Blue Night” is an actual clone of this scent. That would be my low cost alternative. This Kilian is certainly better scent-wise than all of the above, but not $200-300 better. Good Luck and Good Hunting!

Summer in a bottle! I love the combination of the lemon and ginger in the opening. After a while that Calone kicks in giving the fragrance a watermelon aquatic feel which is my favorite part of this composition. I can see myself wearing Blue Moon to the beach here in Cali. Is it worth the price? I think so, you're getting a beautiful bottle with beautiful juice. It's not the most mind blowing fragrance but it doesn't have to be. Its definitely not a clone of any of the designer fragrances people are claiming it to be. I wish it lasted a little longer but it has mild projection and longevity which i'm fine with. Overall I highly recommend trying Blue Moon. 8/10

I really enjoy this fragrance - what makes it unique for me is that calone ( i think ) note - it makes this sparkling spring summer fragrance a littlebit masculine. It feels like its adg profondo + little bit of creed green irish tweed and bois du portugal. Fragrantica users bash this pretty hard but i really enjoy it. I dont regret this buy - my cup of fragrance. Perfomance is really good, like some users have already pointed out. I sprayed 2 sprays on my wrist and worked behind computer, next day i went to my computer desk and i still could smell scent. Pleasent suprise! Pricepoint - 210 euros ... I leave this up to everyone decide.

I genuinely enjoy this one. The only thing that I can find a dislike with is a 90’s smelling pine scent in the background. Other than that, it has a nice salty lemon watermelon opening with a salty and musky dry-down. This stuff lasts on my skin too. 8 hours in to my workday today, someone stopped me and asked what I was wearing, with only applying 3 sprays. I am still picking up wafts of the fragrance. I also enjoy the “vodka” or “on the rocks” feel. Blue Moon has more of a prominent vodka and on the rocks feel than VOTR. I’d give this a solid 8.5/10. This will definitely be a spring and summer staple in my collection.

Blue Moon Ginger Dash is one of the freshest and most refined fragrances I’ve ever owned. It’s a sparkling mix of lemon, ginger, vodka, and soft ambroxan — like a luxurious summer cocktail in a bottle. I first bought it in Copenhagen, later found a sealed one from Printemps Paris, two from Sellpy, and an authentic bottle from an influencer in Germany via eBay. Every bottle smells identical — bright, clean, and effortlessly elegant. Longevity is around 8–10 hours with moderate projection. Ridiculously underrated lovely scent. Such a good creation that it must have been painful for this not getting the hype it deserves. This is like an Acqua Di Gio meets Jimmy Choo ice kind of scent, but done so well you can tell the ingredients used are refined and smooth. If you are a freshies person and have all the usuals ( Sauvage, BDC, Elysium ), this is a good twist to add to your freshie collection. I love this scent and most definitely should be getting more praises than it is at the moment. Oh and a plus, it lasts longer than your usual fresh scents. 9/10 for me.

Sparkling fresh and crisp Lemon ginger cocktail on a base of musk, aldehydes, ambroxan, with a subtle touch of mint. So pleased to have found a suitable alternative to a very under the radar fragrance from Clive Christian called Miami Poolside, only released as a travel spray set. MP scent concept is drinking a yuzu mint mojito at the poolside. BMGD shares a lot of similarities to this concept, sparkling crisp tonic, bright invigorating lemon, piquant ginger, with a clean airy base of musk and calone. Really love this summer forward scent.

Sample this and it smells mad good. Smells like a watery cucumber infused drink with some ginger 🫚. The watery nuances I actually like in this because it doesn’t smell have that wet dog smell I get from calone. This literally just smells like ice cold water, but with citruses and ginger. I’ll definitely look into getting a full bottle of this

Blue Moon is fantastic. One of the only long lasting freshies that stays fresh and doesn’t turn woody. You just got out of a cold shower and you’re drinking ice water with lemon. Unfortunately, Blue Moon is absurdly expensive (255$) and there don’t seem to be any discounters. If it wasn’t so expensive, this is a 10/10 fragrance.

Smells great.. if you like votr you will like this one .. has some votr, but with a little bit more of a Boozy quality as it dries down as well as some ginger and citrus.. will be perfect for the summer. Price is up there yes.. but I guess for people worried about that they can wait on their clones

This reminds me strongly of 2008 CK One Summer. Strong Calone, mint, and citrus. Although I've never smelled 2015 variant, 2008 CK one summer and 2013 summer were similar if not the same. Stronger sillage, and longevity compared to CK One Summer of yesteryear.

Waited almost a whole year to try this and I finally did. 100% lived up to my high expectations of it. Truly beautiful icy and sparkling citruses, reminds me of iced tea a lot. Super fresh and amazing.

Smells like a cross between the lip balm from Fresh and Aqua di Gio. I love love, love, love this!!!! I will definitely be purchasing this. It’s limited and exquisitely amazing!!!!

This is criminally underrated.. this scent is a masterpiece for a summer freshie, it does not have anything that resembles a deodorant. People sometimes surprise me on Fragrantica.

Such a bright, awakening scent. When you smell this perfume it acts like a nasal spray (weird but same ffect lol). It opens your nose litterally. Such a high quality perfume.

This smells like a better quality and longer lasting version of YSL Y eau frieche. Its ysl y eau frieche with extra ginger added musk and with the calone note added.

I really enjoy wearing this cologne and always get compliments when going out. The touch of ginger really makes it a unique scent for me and would recommend!

You folks cannot understand how badly I wanted to like this. I was eagerly awaiting this release (here in Canada) for many months. Finally, it has hit the shelves at Holt Renfrew. Went in to test it today and - while I like it - unfortunately I am not sold on a bottle. As nice as the bottle presentation/limited edition adds to the fragrance propositionally, it is just not worth it for it's price point. The opening is solid. Unisex, versatile, fresh lemon-water (almost like lemongrass when combined with the calone) with a aquatic ginger zing - very good and had it delivered to the bar that the opening set, it could have been a great purchase. I understand the sushi ginger comparisons made below but that's only if you stick your nose directly to the surface of where it was sprayed. Even then, it only smells like the ginger often served with sushi but DOES NOT smell like fish at all to me. I think people are just associating that ginger with the seafood it's often served with. In terms of it's general aura, I actually found the ginger to be very refreshing and light. As the mids/base kicks in, it loses any of the qualities that make it unique/stand out. That's only assuming someone can even smell it at this point, because it turns into a very intimate/skin scent quite rapidly. I can indeed smell the white musks on my skin faintly even 8 hours later, but any ginger/citrusy aspect of it died down well before this point. To be more clear, while it lasts a long time as a skin scent with its white dusky musk (good longevity), the projecting citrus/ginger/ambroxan only project for a couple of hours before dying down (low to moderate projection). The only question is: is the longevity worth it if you don't enjoy the base notes? See below. Here is where I disagree with many reviewers. While a unisex fragrance (arguably even masculine-leaning at it's opening), partly owing to choice of musks, it becomes increasingly feminine with its dry down. This fact played a huge role in why I am not sold on it - I wouldn't want to wear a scent that has such a feminine dry down given that it's this aspect that comprises most of it's life on your skin. My male friend (who I had smell my wrist ~5-6hrs in), thought I was wearing an overtly female fragrance. Another disagreement is that while this has calone, it has vague-at-best marine or oceanic elements to my nose so I do not understand any comparisons to the Bvlgari Aqva lineup (my favorite affordable designer summer line-up as a side note). I feel as if calone is a completely different take on marine notes. While it's spring time now, it's still a bit cooler here in Canada. I will try it again as the weather opens up and see how I like it in the high heat and update this review.

So this is pretty much what I thought it would be but with less of a ginger note than I anticipated. The calone lends a slight aquatic feel. It’s a watery, lemon fragrance (imagine how water tastes after it’s had a slice of lemon in it - not that I’m drinking my fragrances), with a dose of musky ambroxin. A niche citrus aquatic that reminds me of some designer fragrances from the past but with just a bit more nuance and style. It’s on a par with the other Kilian fresh fragrances although I find the projection quite subtle. It’s watery, lemony, a touch bitter, musky, and slightly dusky with, what seems like, a pinch of salt and some dry alcohol (vodka). I do actually think they’ve done quite a good job at replicating a drink although It’s not groundbreaking or challenging and I suspect many will lament its routine safeness. For someone who doesn’t mind the odd aquatic I do rather quite like it for what it is. It’s still cold here so I’d be interested to see what this is like on a hot day. It definitely would suit as a daytime fragrance on vacation in some hot destination. It’s fairly straight down the line unisex. Performance wise, longevity is good (better than expected) but it seems very light to me, although I got occasional faint whiffs throughout the day but it’s not a projection fragrance and neither would I expect it to be. However, for the cost, I think it could be more powerful. Whether you like this will depend on your expectations. It’s fairly simple, and it’s lack of complexity may well leave some feeling underwhelmed, but I do rather like it for its musky, citrus clean scent, however, as my experience has grown in this hobby so has my want for more complex scents - time will tell if I get bored of it. The presentation is stunning though. Edit: this is weird that people are saying fish because I get no hint of that from this at all. I’m guessing the calone reacts differently to the user so definitely test before you buy.

The user (FragranceYYC) has the same feelings I have with Blue Moon. I really wanted to love this. I waited what felt like forever to smell it. Once I did, I was unfortunately disappointed. Here’s my take: (from Reddit) The initial spray your hit with a very nice and fresh lemon. Ginger is also there. It’s a little spicy and sweet, but it’s familiar. For the first hour I got only lemon and ginger. Quite boozy as well. The vodka accord is beautifully done. The calone note does poke it’s head out after this and it’s a very marine/aquatic smell. Almost like a seaweed. Ambroxan and musk make an appearance which kind of blend together. It makes the scent feel quite linear after an hour, and it made me think of a few things. For one, it smells too simple to me. It smells like a typical 90’s men’s Cologne (think Acqua di Gio, etc along those lines). It is beautifully made, but I can’t get past how simple it smells. I was hoping for something more complex, especially at a $300+ retail price point. Second, I thought of this while smelling the blotter, the dry down of Blue Moon smelt like a lighter version of Tom Ford’s Oud Minerale; mostly for the marine notes. I never really cared for VOTR, and that’s how Blue Moon makes me feel as well. You can certainly smell a vodka note from VOTR which is nice, and those who love VOTR will appreciate it. I guess you can say I was pretty underwhelmed with this one, which is a shame because I wanted to love this. I really did. I jumped the gun and bought it blindly on the internet a couple days ago. Luckily it isn’t opened so I can return it. ‘Kologne’ smells a lot better than Blue Moon. If Kilian had put Kologne inside of a Liquor’s bottle and called it Blue Moon, I’d be all over it. With that being said, please, please try to get your nose on this one. It can be a great spring/summer fragrance for those looking for one. For me, I love the darker side of Kilian’s releases (STH, BTB, LHV, etc).

I really enjoy pulling this fragrance out on warmer days, it’s strictly a summer wear for me though. On first spray, you get this sharp, vodka blast of freshness that immediately grabs your attention. It then settles into a spicy, clean ginger accord with a fresh aquatic character running through it. At times it gives off a slightly green, cucumber or aloe vera-like vibe, which adds to that cooling effect. There’s a slight overlap in feel with the Bleu de Chanel EDT style of freshness, but it’s not quite the same as this is lighter and more airy, with ginger taking the lead rather than woods or incense. It’s also quite polarising in that it makes you want to keep going back to smell it again, even though it feels overly familiar, but that's maybe why? Longevity is decent for a fresh fragrance at around 6–7 hours, which I can’t really complain about, though projection does soften after the first couple hours. The only real downside is the price at £210 for 50ml. Luckily, I picked mine up from Harvey Nics on offer. It’s a really interesting, modern summer scent with a distinctive ginger vodka freshness, just held back a bit by cost, so I will be on the hunt for an inspired version.

My partner is someone who likes to stick to his Armani code and black xs , Layton etc....and generally doesn’t often stray far from those type of fragrances so when his mother brought this for his birthday I was shocked to see him wear this for three days straight and ACTUALLY liked it This is NOT a huge projector BUT isn’t subtle at the same time and from what I can tell does stick around for most of the day Ok so the fragrance is to me like fresh cold vodka with melon 🍉 though it’s not in the notes that’s what I personally get ... if I’m honest, I don’t really get any citrusy notes in this, but my partner does so I don’t know if that’s because he’s the one wearing it...... DRYDOWN kind of spins off differently I think with the ginger and ambroxin makes it smell quite like something people wore in y2k...( not soapy) just that type of fragrance. So all in all my husband likes it much more that I do, I don’t think it’s bad at all but thought it would have been a little different Personally I think this does lean more masculine but I could see some women liking and wearing it also.

The opening is similar to vodka on the rocks but the vodka accord which is skilfully done in that fragrance, is also layered with ginger and calone. So it comes off as not as clear or complex as is in VOR. Initially, I thought that this calone was renginerred somehow because it's different than the norm, but then it dawned on me that it sweetened up slightly with some other aromachemical. The calone does what it does, creating a sea and almost a seashell cocoon around the wearer. There might be a little seaweed in here too because the mid started to remind me of Bond No 9 Wallstreet. After about an hour the complete drydown arrives and it does smell like blue moon with a wedge of orange, along with the remnants of calone and a base of ambroxan and musk. Projection seemed good but longevity was weak, especially considering fixatives used, although they were not overdone thankfully. Overall it's slightly above average, but not something that checks the boxes for me in a boozy fragrance,or in an aquatic fragrance. Scent 6/10 Performance 4/10

This is def a male scent. If I smelled this on a woman I would think she was wearing men's cologne. It does smell nice...very fresh, sporty warmer weather day scent. It doesn't really project that strong so it probably will do better on both skin and clothes. I could see a guy wearing this to the gym, or to run errands. It's very light and refreshing....almost giving sporty deodorant vibes. I can see the kind of guy who wears this wants to smell good, but doesn't want to have a strong scent presence. From all the opinions that came out prior to this hitting the shelves I was really curious how this would smell. Overall it is a nice masculine scent that has me going back over an over to smell it.

Overpowering and Unrefined ... Blue Moon Ginger Dash is overwhelmingly potent, to the point where my nose couldn't handle its strength. Whether it's the vodka or the lemon & calone combination, this fragrance is powerful in an unpleasant way. It's suitable for those who want a strong, nose-slapping experience. However, once it dries down, it gives subtle hints of another perfume despite the different scent profile. There's something in it that vaguely reminds me of Balmain Bleu Infini, although I can't quite pinpoint what it is.

This is so weak on me sadly. Even though I enjoy the smell, the lacking of longevity and projection can not justify the price. Smells like a fresh drink and I even smell a note similar to cucumber, even though it is not listed in the official notes. Again wish this lasted longer, since the vodka accord is really interesting and pleasing. You should not have to overspray a fragrance of this price class.

Fell in love with this on first spray. The ginger and lemon notes really do make it smell like a gorgeous, expensive summer drink. However, those notes had pretty much disappeared 3 hours in, and the dry down leans a touch more masculine on me than I would prefer, so I'm not going to purchase a full bottle.

Loveeeeee the scent it’s addicting ! but performance isn’t great. 5-6 hours max. I own both Versace pour homme and eau fraiche. It is not the same! So don’t count this out based off of that. Wouldn’t pay retail but if you can get it at A discounted price I would cop!

To me, this really do smell like nautica voyage but less sweeter and has a dominant citrus note. Extremely fresh, fits summer the best. I genuinely think this is unnecessary if you have nauitca voyage. Hard to believe but yeah, they are quite similar.

It’s nice like a niche d&g light blue. Does have a marine seaweed smell if you bury your nose in close but that goes away. Beautiful bottle but not Worth the price.

This smells like a refined Dior homme cologne mixed with Versace man eau fraiche... very intoxicating and delicious... perfect for summer!

Somehow feels both "spiky" and "neutral" at the same time. Probably comes from the Calone, who's "ozonic melon/watermelon" really comes through, especially the somewhat harsh ozone. The metallic scent from the aldehydes probably contributes to that, too. The slightly cedar-y Ambroxan is there, comes out as the base. The freshness of the lemon/ginger/mint is there at the opening, but kind of all blends together. Nothing like the stand-out Ginger in Molecule 01 + Ginger. All in all, the scent is really defined by its ozonic/metallic qualities, and is definitely a pass for me.

Honestly i feel like they just tried to make the bottle look cool and didn't try at all for the cologne to smell good, for the price it smells basic and underwelming. It reminds me of versace pour homme. While it may be fresher than versace pour homme i reccomend angels share or moonlight in heaven if you want a killians fragrance.
