My take on this amazing fragrance! The fragrance begins with an energetic blend of cherry, almond, saffron, and cacao. These high notes represent charm and oratory prowess, evoking a charismatic leader's magnetic grip on an audience. Cherry provides a fruity sweetness, while almond offers a nutty, slightly creamy note. The addition of saffron adds a rich, spicy warmth, laying the groundwork for an impressive entry. In the heart of the fragrance, the Piped Tobacco and Leather notes take center stage. These elements are traditionally associated with strength and courage. Tobacco offers a smoky richness, while Leather adds a rugged, animalic depth, painting a picture of fearless resolve and authority. The combination resonates with power and a sense of untamed rebellion, evocative of a revolutionary spirit. As the fragrance progresses, animalics and Burmese Oud emerge, reducing the intensity of the middle notes and creating a more soothing, almost contemplative atmosphere. Musk provides an animalic, yet gentle and enveloping quality, while the earthy and resinous Burmese Oud, which is of high quality, adds a depth of complexity that grounds the perfume. Together, they create a warm, inviting atmosphere that serves as a symbol for optimism and resilience in terrible times. The dry-down reveals a base of cacao, castoreum, and amber. Cacao delivers a dark, slightly bitter sweetness, while Castoreum, an animalic note, lends a primordial, raw touch that represents this leader's ongoing impact and legacy. The whole composition is intense and present, evoking a gentlemanly masculine power. Strength, firmness and motivation, wrapped in a calm, composed gentleness. A very coherent and harmonious composition. The slightly gourmand opening, laden with saffron-almond-raspberry, softens the rest of the narrative, which is more concerned with warm, ouddy tobacco, with notes of ambery/musky animalic leather which is absolutely delicious. A fragrance that makes you feel right in your boots. 10/10

Agrani has a lip-smacking chocolate flight; one which belies what greatness is to follow. This cacao-infused opening is bolstered by an animalic castoreum in the first minutes, rendering it ombre with a curious leathery nutty effect... this sense of bitter leather swells in the composition and is held aloft by warm tobacco and oud. The effect is one of gruff virility wrapped in a marshmallow soft sweetness - and an addictive one at that! Agrani delivers on its promise of richness, and cloaks it under a saccharine mantle of moreishness. An absolute triumph in the cold weather!

Agrani comes out as an ulpha male perfume with an aggressive opening with sharp saffrony spicy nuance then moving on to a bold leathery undertone that settles down in to becoming an animalistic oudy scent. I would say that this consists of bold selection of notes, so not for the weak hearts.

Once again, Ashek Zubayer has floored me with his Olfactory narrative. Compelling masculinity, with a nurturing touch. The tobacco and leathery-ness are gentlemanly and refined (my friend calls it “old money”), and the cherry/almond opening is reminiscent of marzipan; like my late father (a reclusive intellectual and smoker) passing me the almond-paste icing from the top of his Christmas cake. There’s a persistent and strong phenolic element throughout the life of the scent, reminding me of Dettol, or Band-Aids, and I like it. Like a loving father not only teaching his children but also tending to their scrapes and bumps with good old fashioned chemist remedies – so nostalgic of my own childhood in the 1980s. According to the Byermia website, Agrani is Sanskrit for leader, or pioneer. This is where my personal relationship with the scent deviated from Zubayer’s creative vision. Where Byermia’s direction for Agrani is about a political leader, or founding father if you will, I found a much more intimately human connection – the love between father and child. And it is not devoid of playfulness. Agrani feels like an evening scent, but it was wasted on me when I sprayed it at night, because I am early to bed, being a parent to youngish children. It is so potent and long-lasting, with each stage of the scent journey demanding my full attention. So, I sprayed it sparingly the next day, a crisp sunny autumn morning here on Wadjuk Noongar Boodjar (Perth, Western Australia) and by bedtime the scent trail from my forearm was still wafting up to my nostrils as I taught my sons to make fart noises with their armpits. As I mentioned; Agrani isn’t all seriousness. There is room for laughter and light within the spaces of this very dense composition; I think the sweet opening grants the wearer permission to play, while never veering into juvenile or “cheap” territory, as cherry can sometimes do. I don’t think this scent is quite for me though, and it wasn’t a love from my husband. It’s a shame, because I almost think it fits the bill as HIS in thehis/her partnership of Agrani/Dior Hypnotic Poison EDP which I own, the latter being similarly opulent; a warm and wintery almond gourmand that’s irrefutably femme.

Yo diría que este extracto de perfume consta de una audaz y descarada selección de notas que, sin duda, te llevarán al más alto nivel olfativo. Una tremenda fragancia compuesta con una excelente concordancia. Agrani es un viaje de sensaciones fuertes, es bienestar y a la vez es angustia por momentos. Un baile digno de los más grandes en perfumería de nicho artesanal. No es apto para personas débiles de corazón. Una apertura con un matiz especiado de azafrán, de cereza y almendra. El azafrán es aquí una nota aromática valiosa y distintiva lujosamente potente y algo picante. Posee un aroma cálido y especiado añadiendo una sensación de misterio y sofisticación a esta fragancia. Agrani también tiene unas notas de cereza florales y especiadas, diría que su calor acentúa sus notas almendradas. Creo que la nota de almendra viene directamente de la cereza que comparte aromas con la almendra amarga y, a menudo, se confunden . Esto es debido a que sus componentes sulfurosos recuerdan al ácido cianhídrico, presente en mayor cantidad en las almendras amargas. Me invade una nube de dulces aromas de tabaco de pipa Un viaje olfativo, donde el encantador humo de la pipa te envuelve en su misterioso encanto. Aromático y cálido, el Oud desprende un fuerte sabor terroso a madera de agar con un aroma áspero y ahumado que es normal para la mayoría de los oud de Birmania. Un dulce aroma amaderado, potente Oud con un toque dulce de caramelo y chocolate amargo o quizás, mejor dicho, Cacao amargo. Verdaderamente magnífico Una dimensión espiritual. La nota de Castoreo desprende un aroma que evoca el cuero y la piel y viene reforzando la nota de cuero presente en esta fragancia. Igualmente le otorga un matiz muy animal al sensual almizcle ya de por si muy misterioso. Un velo ambarado con matiz de madera dulce, especias y miel. Sus notas son cálidas y empolvadas, lo que les da a este perfume unas notas saladas y de tabaco dulce. Whaouuu!

I don't really have words for this brand. I am new to indie brands, having only had experience with niche. Really complex, smooth, deep, like nothing I've ever smelled. Absolutely intoxicating. I am a woman who isn't one for florals, and saffron doesn't count, right? A great take on leather - Tom Ford, step to the side. This is just... so, so different to anything I've ever smelled. I was desperate to sniff perfume made with quality naturals and oh boy this is what I was craving. A beautiful, rich, dark cocoa. Which is something I found and liked with a very different take in Khadlaj Creme velvet of all things. The creaminess of the coca also makes me think of lactonics, though this is an extremely bitter and dark flip of that coin.

Slightly nutty sweet spicy opening, goes away quickly making the warm tobacco prominent which quickly evolves with the cacao, making this tobacco cacao warm base.
