Anais Anais L’Original Eau de Parfum

Gente oque dizer de Anaïs Anaïs, simplesmente uma obra prima da perfumaria clássica. De saída ao borrifa-lo sentiu uma explosão de jacinto e lírio, apesar disso eles não brigavam andavam em harmonia, mas saíram de forma extremamente pontuda, um cheiro verde violento e muito romântico, quase um cheiro de grama recém-cortada. Logo depois de algum tempo ele virou um floral intenso branco, um buquê de noiva, carregado de folhas verdes extremamente amargas e secas, e um devaneio de floraridade branca concentrada, depois de algumas horas ele virou um cheiro de sabonete puro em mim, parecia que havia acabado de tomar um banho com sabonete de rosas brancas intensas e só. Esse perfume rouba a cena, gostaria que ele durasse um pouco mais, e também sua projeção, apesar de acreditar que o EDP não tenha esse problema. Não achei uma conexão nada atual, ela é notavelmente datada, cheira a anos 70/80, diria que uma moça jovem e doce, muito pura o usaria, me remeteu muito a princesa Diana,elegante, marcante, e extremamente verde, me senti mergulhado em um bosque a luz do sol bem morno, com uma grama muito verde recém cortada, num clima úmido, mas com flores que sugam essa água e deixo apenas um perfume extremamente seco e assabonetado no ar, adorei recomendo achei um deleite.

My first experience of this was romantic. For my birthday, either 15 or 16, my mother took me to a perfumerie where a lady tested my test ph and tried different notes on it, choosing the ones I liked the most, white florals were top of the list. My grandmother wore white shoulders which I loved, but didn’t want to wear, though it was close, so I chose Anais Anais. Remember this was when Opium and red door was popular, this was very different. It was a memory I’ll never forget. I think this is one, based on the mixed reviews, that really changes on your skin and fortunately, was lovely on mine. It goes to a creamy powdery place, sweet and romantic. Never overwhelmed, very feminine. Perfumes just don’t last on my skin, but this one will. I have bought it again and again through the years, for nostalgia, but I’ll use up the bottle. From memory, the creamy soapy powder is what I remember most but a very white floral powder. Will always love this.

Oh wow, I had to buy this again after many many years. I am glad I did. There is a very long story here, I will tell the short version. I was 21 years old, this older man who saw me once, four day later he left a package in-front of my door with the entire set of this fragrance including perfume, lotion, shower gel and dusting powder. My goodness, I was in heaven! I looked for him to say thank you, I was not able to find him. Four years ago while in grad school, he turned out to be one of my professors. We ended up speaking about his generous gift he gave me, four days later he transferred me to a different professor. I respected him even more for realizing that there was a conflict. I never saw him again.

I love this because it's not the usual happy floral. Nothing wrong with happy floral but this is such a beautiful melancholic and a little nostalgic floral fragrance! Most floral perfumes I own or have tried are often very suitable for spring. But this is what I would call a rainy day floral. The opening was just a little synthetic but after that it's a beautifull bouquet of flowers with some insence and warmed up a little bit by the amber. I think the box looks amazing!

Bought the EDP at TJ Maxx for $16. Wore this in my 20's when I was reading the diaries of Anais Nin and wishing I was a Parisienne. I assumed it would be a walk down memory lane. But the scent seems spicier on me now, less sweet and powdery. Hyacinth is strong, but that's a scent I like when softened by other floral and base notes. Wysteria's review is spot on when she calls this a rainy day floral. I'm enjoying it once again.

perfection. bitter, green, sharp, not indulgent. either you love it or you hate it. the splendid lily creates with the incense a dark and a little funereal vision, the bitterness of the galbanum and the green of the hyacinth form a splendid side dish jasmine and rose complete fantastically all. unisex for me. excellent performance. in my opinion more suitable for cold than hot. 10/10

Anais was one of my first luxury purchases when I was fourteen and first employed. It's a feminine soft smell that I appreciate a great deal even after experiencing a lot of niche and designer perfumes. The florals are beautifully blended and the feeling is clean and relaxed. It's a great bedtime perfume, very dreamy. I plan on keeping a bottle from now on!

An amazing rediscovery, love how feminine and happy this smells. If you love hyacinth (like me), you’ll adore this. Smells quite powdery on me, lasts decently long especially on clothing. It stays fresh and doesnt turn rancid after a few hours, like some similar fragrances do for me.

This Formula is really the original and it ́s so lovely this floral...feminine, romantic, polite, refined... picture Jane Austin ́s heroines and the Impressionismus comes to my mind. One of the best florals for daily use...pure refinement!

The smell of my mom. This EDP is a very beautiful fragrance with a clear note of jasmine and orange blossom. A compact and delicate bouquet.

Wearing this for the first time since I bought it a few months ago, and really only because of my "scent-a-day" challenge. Yes, this does smell exactly as I remember it smelling when I was a girl in the 80s. And boy is it POTENT. I only sprayed it once on my left wrist and the sillage is ultra. Honestly, if I had sprayed more than once it would have been overkill and possibly a scrubber. To me this is a powdery, smoky, big lily scent with woody cedar. For that reason, it's kind of a contradiction. Because, when I think of lily scents I think of Spring...but this is so, SO in-your-face that I wonder if it would be too much in the warmer temperatures. And also, the smokiness and cedar is definitely making this a colder temperature wear, IMO. This is reminding me big-time of Diorissimo, since both are strong, strong lily scents. I think the dry-down is going to be much more satisfying for me. Since I only sprayed this about 2 hours ago and it's still going strong, it could be much later, possibly evening, by the time it's rounded out and soft, and for me, much more wearable. I DO like this scent, and it does take me back in time, and I'm also happy to have it in my scent wardrobe for reference, but I don't see myself wearing this much. I much prefer to wear gourmand scents these days. Actually, Anais Anais would be a really lovely candle scent...and it definitely reminds me of one (although I can't pinpoint which). For that reason, it's possible that I'll use this as a room spray. Don't hate me, Anais Anais! It may be the best way to show you my love! <3

I found a little bottle of this really cheaply online and ordered it and I'm really pleased that I did! This scent was very popular when I was a child (though my mother never wore it) and it was one of the first perfumes I owned (when I was 14 I think). I loved it then but grew out of it and then when I revisited it it smelled awful - a powdery, flowery, screechy mess. I took a risk buying this on the basis of reviews but it really does smell how I remember it, soft and ethereal like an English Edwardian garden evoking images of ladies with parasols and long skirts. I will probably keep it back until spring and then wear it very lightly. It's great to own just for nostaligic reasons anyway.

So happy to report that L'Original smells exactly like my beloved early 1980's version. Anais Anais was, as so many of you have also written, my first grown up fragrance purchase. Just discovering sex, but still fairly innocent. Naughty but nice. That sums up Anais Anais in my opinion.

Phase 1. White regal lily (Lilium regale) + jasmine + green herbal minty note of herbal shampoo (galbanum) Phase 2. after half an hour flowers change in a mix of cloves + patchouli. There is no cloves or patchouli in the notes but I detect it.. A very 70-ties, hippie perfume.

Wow, they really did stray true to the vibe of the original! This is by now means watered down or made sweeter for wider appeal. The sandalwood and incense take a stroll hand in hand while the flowers are walking a few meters behind. Might treat myself with a little bottle.

Nice inoffensive perfume. Smells of sweet flowers and powder, almost candy like but with a freshness. Not much more than that, and can become a bit boring. On a pluss side it brings back childhood memories.

It is a clean smell, a bit powdery and floral. I find it a little mature for my taste. It is a good choice for a formal event though. Performance is ok.

I have a very old bottle of this, so take this with a grain of salt, but it smells like piss to me. It's not totally repulsive, and I don't hate it, but this is definitely something you have to get used to and not for everyone. The mixture of daffodil-esque florals and slight animalic base just kinda screams piss to me. Looks cute though.
