CK One Platinum Edition

Never owning a bottle of the original CK one I decided to give this one a shot. Compared with the hoard of acquatic freshies that have taken over the fragrance world the last 20 years or so this is quite a different take on the genre IMO and for me it works. To some this will open up as a very sweet feminine like blast of fruits and floral notes mixed with some citrus. You probably wouldn't envision gentlemen such as John Wayne or Sean Connery saddling up in the wild west wearing this scent but that's ok. This is unisex after all and for all the guys out there the best part is yet to come. A soft layer of vetiver and woods will overtake the base of this fragrance creating a darker slightly masculine tinge to the base and most of the mid. I imagine women will fall in love with the bright opening. I talked to a few women at work about this one and one said the drydown was a tad bit to masculine while the other loved it from top to bottom. This is really blended very delicately to adjust to one's skin chemistry so let it settle down before making a decision on whether or not to but this. I think if you are in your teens and 20's this will work very well for you. Again for the older folks let it settle down before making any quick decisions. Its one of the most non-linear complex scents that I've smelt honestly. For those reasons alone I see the secret of the original's success. I'm a fan.

Sweet woody. That's the definition of this fragrance. Sweet first; woody after. And I love it! Not surprised at all there are cinnamon and apple notes in here. Just beautiful! But it smells like wood plus cinnamon on the dry down. The opening has apple, cardamom, vetiver, and very little lavender. There is a trail of amber here too, but luckily it is not distracting. Too bad it is no longer being manufactured. One would be wise to pick this up should one see it in a store. Longevity is acceptable. Lasts longer than CK One, though smells nothing like it. Leaning masculine. Women can wear this if they really want to, but in all seriousness, there are a ton of other feminine and unisex fragrances for the ladies to choose. I still think this one is more male. Perfect for spring. Distinctly reminds me of Dolce & Gabbana The One GREY, but without the incense and tobacco, and the sweetness amped up thanks to cinnamon and apple notes. CK should make this in default production line instead of CK One Gold. I don't even know why that one exists given how scentless it is. Grab a bottle while it's still on!

Tried it out today, first blast heavenly, 1 minute later gone, the scent changed into a more feminin vibe, first reminded me of CK summer 2018, but it got better as time passed, it is not a projection monster, they never are but longevity was pretty good, not a bad scent but a bit familiar from CK not anything new.

Very sweet, clean, pleasing, and elegant. Raf Simons collab if I'm not mistaken. Earthy lavender, aldehyde, and nameless fruits are most apparent to me. The scent breakdown is actually very close for this one with a soft cashmere feeling. The platinum version of CK1 indeed.

I think this flanker is better than the original and the best of the CK lineup. CK gold is very similar but has a chocolate note added. Only downside is performance but for $20 you can buy a new bottle every other week if ya got to.
