Sal Y Limon

Coming from a girl who’s mainly been wearing warm spicy and woody perfumes, this scent is some sort of magic for me. I was sent the discovery set by the brand, and at first I thought this one seemed the most boring: citruses with some basic white flowers... I’ll get a shower gel that smells like that, or worse, it’ll smell like Light Blue which I hate passionately. This is the scent of the most beautiful woman dressed in an architectural white dress, welcoming you on her family’s yacht, walking barefoot with perfect red pedicure and a warm smile on her face towards you, with golden moisturised skin and slightly wet hair. Already a meter away you smell this enchanting scent, and once she hugs you, you’re ready to ask her what it is, so you can at least manage to capture this wealth through the scent. I have the scent on my wrist and I keep smelling it, and I can’t compare it to anything I’ve ever smelled. The reason why I find it impressive, is that after 15 minutes, it doesn’t smell like citruses, nor white flowers. It becomes something greater than the sum of its parts. It’s very chic, elegant, colourful somehow, mouthwatering, a bit salty, a bit sweet, with an addictive musk which makes the dry down so satisfying. The musk in here is what gives this image of wealth, instead of a “two-dimensional citrusy perfume for the beach”. I suggest giving this scent a go, only on your skin, and experiencing it through its different stages. Perhaps my image of it could paint this picture in your mind too. The performance is quite decent, it definitley feels like an Edp and not edt. You will be noticed with this scent. Especially if you spray generously and on your clothes.

Super citrusy unabashed freshie ;) Simple but perfectly executed. One of the contenders for the longer lasting citrus, which here achieves its longevity with a salty accord. Competes very well in this sense with cologne cedrat, which instead uses a peppery accord for the same purpose. Not just lemon but a great fresh concoction of lemony citruses (can tell bergamot and almost a bit of mandarine). Has got a very light sea / herby tinge (salt + rosemarish). Feels like diving into the Mediterranean during July. Love it, proper joyful juice. Everything that TF mandarino d'amalfi wanted to be, but never will. Astonishing value. 9/10

Great lemon parfum. Better than Hermes Citrus Noir (too smoky) and Kalotinis Aegean Sal&Citrus. I think this is what Kalotinis pretended to make. Realistic lemon at the beginning, obviously it flies fastly. The base is simple and delicious, it has the natural sourness of vegetation, smells like seaside, clean, without becoming sunscreen smell. And it keeps the lemon touch, as someone said in comments, like a cooked lemon, with no sweetness at all. The base notes are long lasting on skin. Great, congratulations!

I just got this frag and I’m really enjoying it! It literally smells like my favorite starburst the yellow lemon one. But more fizzy. Then drys into a really nice salty aquatic. It’s really 👍! Don’t pass this one up. Would also like to try tennis court. This lasted a lone time on my skin about 7 hours. Sillage was decent. I believe it’s pretty much unisex leaning male a tad imo. Would like to find a bigger bottle. But the small one is quite cool looking. Love the yellow glass. 9/10 for me.

This is a Chameleon! At the start this is very sharp citrus's leaning toward neroli. There is a hint of something salty in the very background but not obvious unless you search for it. As people have already said, this all about the dry down. After around 20-30 minutes it transforms into a much sweeter and creamier kind of citrus and the salty note reads as musky and interesting. This is very well done and will shine in high heat.

In the discovery set this was y fav among 10, together with Tardes. It really does smell salty, in a sense that I get these juicy citruses which are not sour and not candied, but watery and fresh and subdued, as if covered by sea water. It's not the first perfume with the sea water kind of facet that I tried, and clearly I am just into this aspect of it. The other examples are Soltice by Andrea Maack (salt water with watermelon) and Dialogue with Venus (salt sea water and ylang-ylang) by Pierre Guillaume. Unfortunately, this one is the least interesting and impressive. first of all, it doesn't last long, secondly I don't get much of anything else apart from citruses and salt and subtle musky drydown (which is super nice but too faint!). If it were just a tad amped up, I think I'd love it. Soltice and Dialogue with Venus are much more impressive. But Andrea Maack costs and arm and a leg, so I think I'll go with Pierre Guillaume's creation for a full bottle summer scent. I love how the ylang-ylang which I normally find too sweet and overbearing comes out fresh and salty there

I love this scent-- I smell lime and a touch of salt even though it is supposed to be lemon, my nose makes its own rules! The longevity is about 30 minutes after 8-10 sprays and on top of lotion. No skin scent at all after 60 minutes. Might just be my skin. I love the citrus smell and I dont get the artificial scent nor the rotting smell that citrus can sometimes morph into after contact with the air. This would be a lifetime scent if I could have it constantly applied throughout the day but it will just annoy me to apply every 30 minutes. I prefer this one to Salado by the same house, however they have some similar qualities. -- All the fragrances I have by Carner Barcelona do not last long on me. I am still trying to figure out which one lasts the longest and hope to report back. Office safe for sure UPDATE: I loved this one so much that I tried layering it with MFK 724, one spray and then 3 of Sal y Limon on top and I got hours out of this with this combo

Sal Y Limon is one of those perfumes where you really have to trust the dry down. The opening is very strong. The first time I sprayed it on my wrist I felt an overwhelming disappointment. I blind bought it based on the notes. At first the perfume smells a lot like cheap lemon cleaning supplies. However as the perfume develops it gets a lot better and the dry down reminds me of a freshly baked lemon loaf. It's carefree and fresh. I couldn't stop smelling myself afterwards. For such a fresh fragrance it lasts quite long on my skin.

Nose Note #783 This one is nice and fun, but performance is very underwhelming, which is OK for the scent profile. Very cool take on the lemon note, kind of giving you the salty vibes. Subtly sweet. It's just very nice, it's all I have to say, but very expensive. The best way to describe it is probably this - it smells like lemon cough drops. Not the most natural smell, but it's fun. EosKaiAstraea says it's headache-inducing. I'd never get a headache from this. It's very light. 7/10, playful, but not childish

Love the opening, not crazy about the dry down. Sparkling naturalistic lime and lemon opening quickly morphs to a citrus-scented musk/patchouli/ambroxan-y dry down, which smells quite synthetic to my nose. It's not bad and not nearly as bad as some of those citrus/ambroxan bombs.

I have to agree with the previous review. You need to wait for the dry down. The opening is artificial scent of lemon, nothing to be very excited about and it's quite annoying. Luckily, it disappears quickly and then nice, sweet, dry lime & bergamot & jasmine & musk start to kick in and you become attracted to this smell. I can imagine it on women, same as on men, in 30+ degrees weather when you want to put perfume but nothing too heavy that would make you or your companion suffocate. It is clean, fresh but has some sweet lemon meringue note to it which I like. This fragrance is not "must have" for myself but definitely not "a typical summer perfume" like Light Blue from D&G or similar, it is more sophisticated and less aggressive (in dry down), lasts quite long.

On a quest to find my signature citrus. I don't think this is it, sadly. Gotta say tho, lovely lemon scent that doesn't feel cleaningproduct-y. Wear test was lovely, I didn't find it overpowering or overtly sweet which is my main dislike with some citrus fragrances. Longevity-wise, it lasted near 6h on my skin.

I expected a salty lemon fragrance but it doesnt even have salt. It smells like citrus and orange blossom. I feel like ive smelled 10+ designers that smell just like this. It does smell really nice tho i cant lie. Boring but nice

I smell a strong wintergreen mint (methyl salicylate) note in the opening that feels really out of place. A more natural smelling mint garnish would be fine, but this smells like you dropped mint gum in your lemonade

Another generic lemon cleaning product smell. What a disappointment! how many such nothing-saying new releases do we need?? Great and uplifting color of the bottle though!

Just no. I bought this during a sale and it was highly disappointing. My sol de Janeiro body mist performs better. Forget this it's a bust

"Summer in a bottle" - This is my favorite summer fragrance of all time, so much more sophisticated than Light Blue indeed. I got it in Santorini so it instantly takes me back to Greece when I spray it. Being a summer perfume, I actually love that it does not project that strongly when it's 30 degrees or more. But the weather does have to be warm (spring temperatures are not enough) for it to come alive, and I do believe that the dry-down is unique although judging by the notes you would say it's quite boring. The zesty ripe Italian lemon gives it a slight gourmand touch while the cassis and lime make you feel refreshed instantly, like when it's super hot and you just can't wait to sit down at a terrace and dive into a big glass of lemonade. And yes, it is similar to Mandarina Duck in that it's a lemony perfume but I own and love both (I got MD just because I was hoping it's a dupe), if you spray them side by side, Sal Y Limon is more on the green side whereas MD comes out as more of a grapefruity scent. You can also tell the difference in quality when you compare the two, MD leaves a more synthetic dry-down while Carner is exquisite from base to top. Will be keeping it in my collection as long as I can get my hands on it and I recommend it to all summer scent lovers :)

Maybe I just don't like salty fragrances, but this scent gives me a headache in a similar way to fragrances with obvious aroma chemicals. I think the use of citrus here is excellent. It's softened and refined citrus surrounded by florals and sea salt. Maybe it's just too much salt or my nose doesn't agree with whatever they used to create the accord, but I cannot wear this for more than 30 minutes without getting annoyed. Unfortunately as someone that loves rocking natural fem leaning scents, this is either too fem or not natural enough to my nose for me to enjoy the scent profile. Honestly both.

When I first sprayed Sal Y Limon, it immediately put a smile on my face. I got a haircut and enjoyed the smell while I was getting whiffs of this happy fragrance. Strong similarities to Under the Lemon Tree for me, Sal Y Limon is all about the bottle, and I immediately looked to see if I could find a bottle for less than 100. No luck. Longevity isn't that long, but for me that's okay as it does sit close to the skin for a few hours, and you do have to really put your nose up to where you sprayed. Very nice balance for a lemon/lime fragrance. Positive mood energy.

This is delicious. An awesome semi-sweet, fresh lemon fragrance. People say it’s like you squeezed a lemon on your arm but this isn’t the case as lemons are sour and tangy and this fragrance is the opposite so I’m relieved at just how good it smells. If I were to break it down in the simplest way possible it would be Versace pour homme and then add in the lemon added from Versace energy mixed together and you’d get something like this. Obviously way better quality. Beautiful stuff and performance is great. Even after a shower I could still smell this!

Mixing lemon, lime, and bergamot brought forward this accord with multiple dimensions and facets of what would rather be a simple boring citrus opening, I think it gave it this fresh and quenching aspect of a lemonade, that kick of salt and lime, silver lined with this evoking bergamot fragrance. Follow the arc of this beautiful accord till it dries down to this clean minimalistic skin scent.
