CH Men Africa

I hate to admit it, but I somewhat like this fragrance and feel that I am in need of a top-notch, Grade A, ass kicking. While it is not a bad fragrance (you know it's a bad fragrance whenever anyone prefaces their review with, "It's not a bad fragrance...") it is a strange concoction and a huge disappointment when compared to the iconic CH Men. But seriously, I've worn it several times now and I am liking it more with each wearing. However, it remains my 2nd least favorite CH Men fragrances (I have all the flankers) just above CH Men Sport. First, let's toss-away the notes pyramid...CH Men Africa is one-part CH Men (the watered-down reformulation), one-part 1 Million or Invictus (take you pick), one-part Le Male (the watered-down reformulation) and one-part Bazooka Bubble Gum. To me, it's as though CH tried to make a version of 1 Million and then decided to make a version of Le Male and then decided to make a version of a Bubble Gum. There is nothing in this fragrance that reminds me of traveling on the plains of Africa - nothing! Performance is rather lackluster in that it lasts 4-hours and projects moderately on my skin. I detect no coffee and there is very little of that scrumptious CH Men DNA. Moreover, I honestly can't detect many discernible notes...just waves of synthetic sweetness, woods and spices - and bubble yum. Sounds bad but I don't hate this fragrances and even kinda like it - shame on me! CH Men, Prive, Grand Tour and Central Park are both much better options, in my opinion, but I still kinda like it so let the ass-kickings begin. I'm going to [finally] wear this one out while dancing this weekend so perhaps this one may be a sleeper and really please the ladies. We shall see.

If you’d look at the ratings and reviews on ‘some’ fragrantica perfumes you won’t experience nice stuffs, I wanted to get a CH perfume so I sampled the 3 available in my area; I sampled this(CH Men Africa), the original CH men, and CH men Grand tour... I had to pick this though, this shares sweetness to the original CH Men, While the original CH men is sweet and leathery, this is sweet and spicy, Borrowing the little DNA from the original, this feels more unique to me The opening is kinda fruity sweet and musky, The Coffee note is present; giving it that milky feeling... It’s not a complex perfume but I love it, the dry down gets a bit spicy and slightly woody with musk still fully present... I had to get this instead of the original CH Men, This feels more unique, yet still sweet As for Longevity, I don’t know while it’ll be rated “Moderate” because I got a solid 10 hours+ on this, as at the 10th hour it was a bit hard to detect though but I knew it was there Silage isn’t that heavy but it’s above average... Good stuff Carolina! Love this!!! PS- Don’t take the rating of this perfume seriously, the hate as i suspected might be from the choice of name and perfume design... If you love the original you’d love this too, TRUST ME on this one 🙏🏾

I honestly came pretty late to the party when it comes to the CH Men line and its amazing flankers. Once I discovered them, I went completely down the rabbit hole and ended up splurging a bit to lock down a few hard-to-find bottles. But now that I actually have them in hand, they are pretty much all I ever want to wear. Out of the whole group, Africa is easily one of the standouts. It just smells great, clean, and unique. A mix of orange, sage, and a bit of coffee keeps it smelling sophisticated but actually wearable for most seasons, even on a hot 90-degree summer day, but there are better options for the heat. It stays closer to the skin, but fine with me as that’s what I prefer at this point. It is getting very hard to find and expensive to buy now that it’s over 10 years old, but I think it’s an amazing choice if you want to stand out a bit.

Compliment story, I'm buying at a milk tea shop. After they took my order, 5 of them in the counter even at the back(the people who packs and mix milk teas) turn around stared at me creepily in silence. I said that's all my order. Then the female cashier took initiative while they were all looking at me to ask me "what is it?". Then I said "I already told you my order", she then slowly said "what perfume is that?". I wrote it down for them and told them where they can buy it, I was stuttering while giving them information where to obtain this because I wasn't expecting to talk to anyone at that time and I think I made the line at my back a little longer. Still in silence and the line was longer after I got my order and the mall was busy. I thought that only happens in the movies.

I bought this as a blind buy based on the reviews and I am real happy I did. An amazing scent! I don't think its a synthetic as many people have mentioned .Its true the style of the bottle isn't the greatest but I am more concerned with whats inside. The coffee and cedar notes are prominent that blend nicely . It has a classy scent that I find different from the other CH line of fragrances. Longevity is around 6-8hours which is good. this is definitely a compliment getter Since it is a limited edition I tied to get another bottle but it is impossible to find it anywhere. Overall I would rate this 8/10

I think the hate on the fragrance has little to do with the actual scent itself. Maybe the bottle design influenced the decision to rate it this low. Don't get me wrong, It's not a great fragrance, but it's no where near a 3.50 rating. I own other juices that have a 4+ rating and they are not as good as this fragrance. 7.0/10

I like this more than the OG, this has a lot more character for me. Sad it's discontinued and hard to find. Great fragrance, and very versatile. 8.5/10

This is the best Fragrance ive smelled. Why it's discontinued i don't know, but please bring this back. This is the best out of all the Ch men's

i test this for the second time and it's quit similar to lacoste yellow. same vibe i believe, and it's also very versatile.

It's already available in Europe I believe. I tried it at a local perfume store. I do have the feeling I tried a similar fragrace before but I can't remembre which one it is. Either way, it is a nice fragrance for Spring and Autumm and it could even be used during Winter. You can feel the citrus in the opening notes and then it becomes quite Woody. I will have to try again to give a better review

I was a bit disappointed with CH Africa, as happened with the CH men sport. The original CH Men version is more elegant, has more personality. CH Africa is more fruity (red fruits?), less sweet and less leathery than CH men. It lacks personality.

This fragrance is somewhere between CH Men and it's Sport version. Strong DNA of CH Men, but less sweet, kind of bitter. Not so much more to add. An everyday fragrance.

With the name of the perfume, I remembered the African environment: a warm environment with harsh conditions and wild animals. Therefore, what I expected from the CH Men Africa Carolina Herrera was a perfume with an animalic smell or a perfume that was very sharp and harsh and unpredictable. While I faced exactly without this issue. It means a fragrance with soft edges; Almost velvety and harmless. At first, A relatively noticeable smell of orange in Top Note, which after about 15 minutes passed; The smell of coffee gradually added to the smell of orange and gradually overtook it, but I could feel the smell of the top note of orange throughout the entire life of the perfume. The silage of the perfume is very ordinary and the longevity is not long. Overall, I don't think it's a perfume that will bother anyone, and if a person like notes such as orange and coffee; He or She can blind buy it. با اسم عطر آدم یاد محیط افریقا میوفته: محیطی گرم؛ خشن همراه با حیوانات وحشی. بنابرین انتظاری که از عطر داشتم عطری بود با بویی حیوانی (انیمالیک) و یا عطری که بسیار تیز و خشن و غیر قابل پیش بینی بود. در حالیکه دقیقا با عکس این مسیله روبرو شدم. یعنی عطری با لبه های نرم؛ تقریبا مخملی و بی آزار. در ابتدا در تاپ نوت شاهد بوی نسبتا محسوس پرتقالی بودم که بعد از سپری شدن زمانی در حدود 15 دقیقه؛ بوی قهوه کم کم به بوی پرتقالی اضافه شد و کم کم به بوی پرتقال مانند سبقت گرفت ولی در کل عمر عطر همون بوی تاپ نوت پرتقالی رو میتونستم حس کنم پخش بوی عطر خیلی معمولی هست و طول عمر عطر هم زیاد نیست در مجموع فکر نکنم عطری باشه که کسی رو اذیت کنه و در صورتی که شخص به نتهای به خصوص پرتقالی و قهوه علاقه داشته باشه؛ میتونه اونو بدون تست کردن قبلی هم خریداری کنه

Fruity-bitter-synthetic combo (that supossedly coffee? note is more like a stale bitter-sweet coffee left out for days), in a cheap-looking bottle, not much feeling in common with original CH Men which, imo, is still the best in the serie. Strong sillage, good longevity but unfortunatelly not something very challenging or appealing. 6.5/10

It has the very distinctive DNA of CH Men original but as some other people have already mentioned it's a little sweeter and not too leathery, I feel like it's very green spicy and I wish the coffee note on the base was a little stronger. Not my favorite to be honest but it is still a great alternative for those who enjoy green fragrances.

Tested it and smells almost the same like the original

Smelt this in Santorini, Greece a couple weeks back. Love the fragrance, the bottle is the same as the CH Men bottle but with a tacky camouflage design. I think the marketing is wrong on this one. The fragrance is great and could of been a new release instead of a flanker. Unfortunately I didn't purchase it. I regret it now. Luckily I have family going over a month so I'll be getting my hands on it! Can't wait!

Smelled this in Singapore. First off, tacky camo design on the bottle, nowhere near as classy as the original. Next, the smell....pure synthetic straight out of the bottle. Typical generic woody spicy scent. PASS! I didn't even give it a second sniff. My advise buy the original!! That is excellent juice!
