Violet Gem

PASSIONFRUIT and VIOLET ?! FANTASTIC !!!!!! WHAT GENIUS THOUGHT OF THIS UNIQUE GEM ?! It's a truly inspiring combination!!!! Wow. What inventiveness! It's fresh, fruity, floral, aquatic, tropical (and I can not stop smelling my own wrist, which I'm sure looks strange). Perfect for warm and hot weather. The bottle is a gorgeous light violet colored glass with gold stars that don't show up properly in the fragrantica database official photo, so I'll probably add one to the fragram for accuracy. Violet Gem is not very strong, and doesn't last all day, but that's just fine with me. I've never encountered this incredible blend of passionfruit and violets before. Incredible. Did I say incredible? Because it is incredible. The only downside is when it really fades, all the remaining notes end up blending like shampoo. At that point it's a little lackluster... that takes a couple of hours to reach that point. I think it's gentle enough for an office work environment. My oh my, I am in love with this fragrance, and so is my family and friends. They all want to smell me, or wear it themselves!

This takes me right back to an early-90s college fraternity formal, when all the girls passed around Victoria's Secret Tranquil Breezes body lotion! Tranquil Breezes was the scent of college for me. I loved that stuff and have been looking for something similar ever since it was discontinued. I finally found it! I first got this scent through Scent Bird and then purchased a full bottle. It's not creamy like TB was - it is a bit more cool and sparkly, but I still get the cucumber fresh vibe I remember. This is perfect for everyday summer wear and thankfully lasts a long time on my skin. It makes my little Gen X heart happy.

This is a truly fresh fragrance. On me I definitely get the melon, cucumber and passion fruit strong in the opening, but as it dries down the violet and sandalwood add something special. This really is meant to be a Spring and Summer scent and though it currently is winter I still wear this occasionally as it really is pretty and different from my usual fruity scents.

I love it, but wish it was a little more . . . forceful. I was hoping for the violet scents of my girlhood, like Avon's Raining Violets, which lasted for a long time. But this is lovely, perfect for daytime, and I'll certainly wear it this spring.

This is lovely! It reminds me of Cool Water, but with sweet pea & violet replacing the citrus. It's inoffensive, pretty and refreshing. Solid love.

The fragrance that got me into aquatic accords.

i like this scent but i wish it lasted longer. on me i mostly get notes of melon and passion fruit and a bit of floral. i realized i’m not quite sure what violet smells like so i’m not sure if that’s also a note that i’m detecting but i think the floral element could be stronger. i love that it’s not overbearingly heavy or sweet smelling nor is it powdery. to me this is a spring/summer fragrance, perhaps early fall as you try to extend those last sunny moments of summer a bit longer. i would want to find a similar scent with better longevity and perhaps a touch stronger floral note as i really do like it.

I want to say this was a free perfume from scent bird? This is actually a nice light and fresh scent for every day usage. At first I didn't like it because I don't like purple flowers ( violet, lilac) but overtime I started appreciating it. Definitely a spring/summer scent.

Very light, i would even say safe for the office IF you spray it before going in. It does give off a shampoo smell after a while once everything sits, very pleasant and soft. I personally like more umph from fragrances though so i'd rate this just "ok" for me personally. I could maybe see this for someone as a gift, or a safe buy, even someone getting into fragrances without going so Niche it would drive them off.

Smells mostly of cucumber and melon to me, it is light and inoffensive. Ideal for hot summer days. It isn't groundbreaking by any means but it is pleasant and got me compliments.

Blind buy, I've had it for a year now and my thoughts haven't really changed. My body chemistry might not agree with it ??? but it has a very heavy melon scent. There's definitely slight hints of other notes going on, but melon seems to be the thing that overpowers it all. Maybe my thoughts will change eventually but I don't reach for it unless I'm trying layer combination :S I like sweet scents but I could see myself liking this more if it had more cucumber and less coconut milk and melon

POOLSIDE MELON & VIOLET. Opens with a burst of watery & ozonic fruits including melon & cucumber, that deepens into the fruity-floral heart with floral, tropical, aquatic,violet & powdery tones, resting on a floral support base listed as sandalwood-tonka. Overall I get an ozonic-aquatic fruity-floral with an airiness & wateriness from the opening into the heart, and some added dry & sweet floral touches into the drydown with an overall effect of soft purple fantasy violet. In the air I mostly get an aquatic melon, and on the skin I get sweet pea & something near mimosa. There's also a faint poolside-shampoo vibe, like you've just shampooed your hair and you're sitting by the pool, and a very faint milkiness in the background. I would like for the passion-fruit & litchi to pop more, but it's still beautiful. Has average or slightly above average performance with soft but present projection. Well blended, affordable and easy reach for hot summer days. Enjoy! First impression is melon and sparkling seltzer. The passionfruit and violet come together nicely under that for a good while. This style of fragrance is outside my normal exploration but I'm glad I tried it because it surprised me. I am not very good at detecting violet but I think i'm feeling it here. I got this hoping it would be violet-y enough to make me sure I like violet or not. Still very pleasant. Something about it makes me want to drink it. It smells like a high end fruity/floral/ seltzer cocktail.

First impression is aquatic. SO reminiscent of an early 2000's type of scent. Tinge of girly, tinge of floral, tinge of fruity but very very aquatic. A bit cold. Pleasant and likeable especially if this is your thing.
