Gardénia Eau de Parfum

I adore this perfume! It's always among my favorite top 5 perfumes and I wear it on every occasion. It's very feminine and I always get compliments by both men and women on it. It starts off with a slight green note that is fresh but not overpowering, but the gardenia note is the real star here and is delicious, creamy and sweet smelling, but also very fragrant and floral. It is so delicate but at the same time not so whispery that I can't smell it and it doesn't have a presence. I also can smell a slight fruity note and slight vanilla note in the base that adds a touch of complexity. This is definitely a gardenia dominant fragrance though and it's lovely and realistic! I can smell a slight jasmine note too, eventhough it isn't listed here. Every woman should have this classic fragrance in her wardrobe. 10/10!

I love white florals and gardenia is right at the top. This opens with a lovely green note, like standing next to a gardenia bush, breathing the in the scent of the flower, leaves, and earth. Then it dries down to a lovely pure gardenia scent, which is really the star of this fragrance. The dry down is softer, a bit powdery, but still earthy, milky and sweet. I think the coconut and the vanilla give the gardenia such a beautiful base to create the creaminess of this scent. I LOVE this. I love that gardenia was given a chance to shine and not overpowered here, or blended with too many other white florals that it gets lost. I love Goregous Gardenia by Gucci (thats a lot of "g"s) but this is so much better. Stronger, more elegant. This is a rich aunty fragrance for sure.

A perfect gardenia fragrance, absolutely among the very best. I have one of those adorable and beautifully boxed 4 ml deluxe samples that are readily available on Ebay and a great way to try the Les Exclusifs line without making any costly mistakes due to skin chemistry or a bad blind buy based on notes alone. If I could only have one gardenia fragrance in my collection, it might easily be full bottle worthy. However, I already have several, and Van Cleef & Arpel's Gardenia Petale is remarkably similar and of high quality. Unfortunately, both are fleeting beauties, with little longevity and minimal sillage. Still, it is extraordinarily beautiful. If you have the money, then by all means, indulge. I love it.

A present from my son. This reminds me of an East Coast outdoor wedding. I can see the grounds of this fabulous mansion decorated so perfectly complimented by all the Gardenias in full bloom which waft their scented gifts all around. The guests are mingling,mainly the well heeled and well connected. There are no plebs at this wedding,just quiet understated old money and good taste. The bride wafts in and around the guests in her gorgeous gown,hair swept into a loose knot with just a complimentary touch of make up,enough to enhance her beautiful skin and stunning smile. She wears Chanel Gardenia and no one is offended. It blends beautifully with its surroundings.

Hands up, I LOVE this. Sometimes performance isn't everything - if it takes me walking around constantly smelling my wrist or clothes, so be it. It is utterly charming and so easy to wear, which is often just what I crave. It is one of the most popular Exclusifs and I can see why - it is easy to like, elegant, suits every occasion and doesn't require a degree to understand the notes. I pick up on the green notes and definitely get sweetness in the dry down, but my skin amplifies sweet notes at the best of times. If you can afford it, it would make a great signature. I have a 75ml and am eyeing up a big bottle.

I love this, this is pure french class and the most modern fragrance by Chanel. The perfection scent for spring. I love gardenias in perfumes, it's like a toxic luminous and bitterness flower. Here it's green and evokes me pastels colors. I smell fresh gardenias with soft green apple. Others notes are really discrets, you talk about vanilla but it's very subtle, The only bad thing is that doesn't last long in my skin. I would love a more concentrate version. I'm very happy to have this pure jewel. Very classy Chanel perfume without aldehydic notes, that's it 💙

The more I wear this the more I fall in love with it. A simple creamy white floral with fruity sweetness balanced by the gentle green notes. The vanilla and coconut create a beautiful and very subtle creamy backdrop for the white flowers to shine, mainly tuberose to my nose which I absolutely love 🤍 it is long lasting on clothes, I can smell it on them even after an entire day. An absolutely perfect spring and summer scent but I can see myself wearing it all year long because it’s oh so beautiful.

This scent is beautiful and lush, but the price for this is far too much. I liken it to buying the best vanilla ice cream money can buy. It's the most basic scent done to absolute perfection. It's green and sour, yet fruity and creamy. In some ways it feels like Fracas' fresh and fun cousin, I really think there must be a little tuberose in the brew. If someone was to give me the money to buy any chanel scent I wanted? This one any day.

Chanel Gardenia (1925) - Camelia - #ernestbeaux ‘s perfume doesn’t smell like Gardenias, but that’s not the point. Gardenia distillation is very expensive to do, so all perfumers create their own take on what the flower would smell like. In this case, it represents more Coco’s flower - the Camelia, the queen of the winter flowers. I smell Orange blossom, Jasmine, cut grass Galbanum, Coconut with a base of Musks and Sandalwood. Timeless.

This is a gorgeous gardenia perfume with ZERO lasting power. It’s gone so quickly. I would love to own it but would have to use it every two hours... Not exactly my understanding of Chanel quality. Too bad. The scent itself is crisp, fresh gardenia water, so pure and elegant. Wonderful, simple, classy creation. Not worth big money though, it’s gone way too soon...

I wore Jo Malone Garnia Perfume when I got married back in 2008. Sadly it was discontinued. I loved that fragrance. This is the closest I could find to that. It is gorgeous! Perfect for spring and summer days. It has a fresh, light airiness to it. The lasting power is not the best so I opted to get the body oil. It is extremely pricey though for what it is.

instant love from me! i fell in love hard after a few sprays, going in and out of the boutique..its gorgeous, fresh floral almost sparkling. i immediately feel very very pretty when i have this on. unfortunately, it's really airy and light, i might have to BATHE in it from head to toe just to make others smell it on me. i cant even smell it on myself!

I made a trip today to the Chanel store in NY, I sampled this beauty, I was taken away. I do not have any Gardenia in my collection, I was happy to purchase this and add it to my collection. If a person can afford it, you will not regret it. 1957 is my next indulgence because I have not quite smell anything like it before.

Bought a decant and I love it! It's like a more modest, calm and rounder little sister of Guerlain Jardins de Bagatelle. Fortunate for me - Jardins de Bagatelle is one of my favorite perfumes ever. Jardins de bagatelle is louder, more demanding and a bit greener. Will absolute buy a bottle of this!

the most beautiful gardenia soliflore you can find currently . i want the big bottle, i think about this so often . an affectionate, gentle confidence sort of scent, it is certainly different from the crowd . may be milder and intimate, but it is hard to forget .

This is my favorite gardenia perfume and one of my favorite straight up floral scents in general. It is so fresh, uplifting, full bodied, and doesn't go indolic. There is a slight greenness and creaminess in here. Perfection

More like a Guerlain than a Chanel, perhaps because of the vanilla. It's a VERY polite, delicate little floral scent in the vein of Joyeuse Tubereuse. I always love gardenia for its lushness and this is no exception.

This is all vague green notes and fruity notes to my nose. I did not get the heavy Gardenia as someone said below me. Anyway, it's not for me. That being said, I have a 75ml (60% full) bottle to swap in the EU.

oh my days I love this perfume. So fresh and modern. I was afraid of the fruity accord, but on the contrary, it balances the florals in the most perfect way. LOVE

I wish this were not as expensive as it is. It's a refreshing feminine scent that is perfect for the spring. I only have a sample of it so I use it rarely.

Love this scent, good for summer. Btw, isn't long lasting and reminds me of Gucci bloom fragrance, but it's more expensive .

I adore the gardenia note and Gardenia-forward perfumes in general, and so I was eager to test Chanel's Gardenia to compare with ET's Gardenia to understand if an upgrade would be worth the extra hundreds of pounds. This testing session required patience on my end to reach an informed conclusion. Gardenia's opening was uninspiring, there were no grand differences in scent facets from ET's Gardenia, in fact, it was a much weaker opening. However, I decided to keep calm and carry on waiting for the magic. As the fragrance developed (during its short development), fruitiness that reminded me of dear expressions of tuberose and stalk-like greenness introduced themselves to the airy mix - waif like, pixie dust and afternoon tea - these connotations came to mind as I experienced the developed full body- there was the difference I had been looking for! Now for the big question...

This is a pretty gardenia w/ a lot of fruits and a lot of coconut but for the price point it just isn't unique enough. It almost doesn't smell like a Chanel IMO. It smells really close to ET Gardenia but w/ coconut and fruits added. Edit: 6/29/23 Wearing this now from my sample and I can see why people like this so much it is pretty. The more I wear it the more I smell shades of Tocca's Florence. Since this is much more expensive, I am happy w/ Florence and ET Gardenia. I get wanting to own Chanel's, I've just caught the Chanel Virus LOL but there are others I'd rather have. Especially for the Exclusive lines price point. For me Le Lion is a must have, nothing else comes close to that one. This is a pretty gardenia but there are others much like this one at a much better price point to buy.

A very green gardenia dominant perfume with light fruity facets and a bit of unsweetened vanilla. I personally do not get any coconut or any tropical fruitiness out of Gardenia. As a side note, not because they smell the same, but I personally prefer Van Cleef&Arpels take on a gardenia perfume. I just purchased Gardenia Petale recently and after testing Chanel’s Gardenia I need to congratulate myself because I chose the best one to purchase. And it’s fairly inexpensive compared with Chanel’s pricing range. Would recommend Van Cleef & Arpels Gardénia scent over this one even if we’re not considering the price because it’s smoother, creamier and less green. I personally like my florals more creamier and well balanced and in Chanel’s Gardenia I don’t get that.

This is a very light perfume, one that starts off as an intense white floral, with quite strong sillage before settling close to the skin. The opening is an intense white floral one, I can’t really distinguish anything and it settles before revealing the white floral-honey like heart. The base is an almost amber like vanilla affair. I don’t really get any of the green notes but I can understand why people might be getting them as there is some kind of open, light scent there that reminds me of open fields on a summers day. There is also a slightly nutty scent which might be coconut. All in all, it’s a very nice fragrance but is very light and if you want something that has good sillage, I would avoid this.

The note so lovely.. but much less deep and powering compared to edt version classic. Chanel what you have done to this Gabriel coco heritage??? I wore not more than 40 minute and i couldnt smell at all. Even try hard to snif but doesnt smell anything after 40 minute.. my question.. why you guys should reformula it and destroyed precious quality of this beautiful creation??

I love gardenia scents. Although this is not my favourite gardenia fragrance, it is still a beautifully creamy white floral with a fresh feel. The gardenia note is balanced with green and musky undertones. I don’t understand complaints about weak performance because mine lasts well with solid projection too. Maybe it’s because I own an older formulation?

This creamy and elegant gardenia scent is just like heaven. It makes me smile and feel so pretty when I wear it. It's a special and luxurious gift to yourself as it's price is very high and its longevity is somewhat poor. But to me it is one of the most beautiful perfumes I have ever tried. It's really realistic and fresh.

Growing up I used to smell and pick gardenias from the bushes surrounding the house. I have a gardenia tattoo. I stumbled upon this at the Chanel boutique. This is the most realistic smelling Gardenia on me. It’s elegant, fresh, and memory invoking. I don’t find this old lady-esque on me.

Green touches keep Gardenia fresh and alive. I picture magnolia flowers, large, velvety, creamy white petals against dark green, waxy leaves. Beautiful, elegant & classic. I find the modern EDP to be crisper, less soft and indolic compared to the EDT before it. I prefer the modern.

I just bought this. It doesn't last long, and as a male, this should be paired or layered with something. For the ladies, this fragrance alone smells great. But myself, I layered it with Chanel No19. It can also go well with Sycomore, or any woody/green scent.

This is beautiful gardenia, mixed with green and fruity notes. I really enjoy the opening (greener), but like it a little bit less as it settles (fruitier). I enjoy the sample bottle I recently received at the boutique, but I wouldn’t pay full price for this.

Got this as Valentine’s gift and it smells beautiful. Jasmine, subtle one. For me, it just stays jasmine. It doesn’t change. Lasts about 5-6 hours. Definitely smells like a classic one.

7/10. Grape at first. Then musky white flower, jasmine. Grape stays and lasts throughout. Natural, not chemically.

This is like a jasmine jam, with a touch a tuberose and orange blossom, very sweet.

I’m obsessed with Chanel’s Les Exclusifs line. I’ve tried them all, and it might be the only line where I love more than half. This is my sixth bottle, and Gardenia holds a very special place. The gardenia note (a fantasy accord) is risky as I’ve mentioned before; because the tiniest imbalance can turn it into a cleaning-agent vibe. That’s absolutely not the case here. The gardenia’s cleanliness and creaminess meet a highly refined jasmine, with orange blossom merely supporting from the wings. Delicate, luxurious; a milky-lotion, pure white beauty. There’s a floral-fruity sweetness, but no synthetic sugary aroma. For a bouquet this heavy on white florals, it can even be considered warm. Edit: Later on I became unable to stand the opening of this scent... It's too harsh and screaming like a cleaning agent. The drydown is wonderful, but it wears you out until you get there. This is a lady who is gentle, elegant, grounded and poised. Others admire her from afar. To them, she is always put together and can seem reserved. To herself, she is in a relaxed state of mind, she finds comfort, she does not try to stand out; this is effortless. On the surface, this is not unique or interesting. Yet everything is so finely tuned and perfected, you can only appreciated it from the inside.

A sweet gardenia scent with fruity notes. I dislike green perfumes but this, somehow, I can wear. It smells a bit like the body shop gardenia body spray but more fruity and vanilla.

Basic beautiful soft gardenia but nothing special

Often, when I wear Chanel I say to myself, "Why do I wear anything else?" I do, of course, but Chanel is in a league of its own. With that said, I do not care for Gardenia Chanel and I have tried. It is a Gardenia fragrance in name only - gardenia sits top with mixture of scents that smell old fashioned, earthy and green. It smells like something an old lady would wear and . . . I am one! So many young reviewers have sworn by it so I don't get it - they would not wear the original Miss Dior for the same reason. I love florals - gardenias, honeysuckles, jasmine, etc. so it is not my particular taste. I do know that I like florals so much I have wanted to find a fragrance that actually SMELLS like gardenia without all the extra scents that take it another direction - such as coconut - if I wanted coconut, I would purchase Versace Crystal Noir. Truly, I have looked for a pure gardenia that is not screechy or smells inexpensive - the purest I have found is Island Gardenia by Jovan but it does smell inexpensive - it was better years ago when it first came out. Still looking . . .
