Charriol Men

First time wearing it today. My first impression was positive. I thought at first it reminded me of a fragrance I have. Versace Pour Homme. Wow is my nose good! I checked the notes of Versace Pour Homme and they are VERY similar. But I didn't have the notes in front of me of this Charriol Men when I first sniffed it. Verace Pour Homme smells very sythnetic to me, while this smells of much higher quality. When sprayed on paper this has a lot of qualities that remind me of Versace, but when its worn on your body it smells different as I'll explain below. The first thing I smelled was something that reminded me of animals. Specifically when I was a kid, I owned a rabbit. I thought: "I know this smell!". It was the cedar, since anyone who owns a rabbit uses cedar chips as bedding. Every time I smell it I smell mostly cedar then everything else just melds together so well with the cedar. It's just sweet fruits, flowers, cedar, and some light musk. It's modern masculine. When sprayed on paper, the top notes have the Verace Pour Homme vibes and the cedar isn't that prominent, but it lingers in the back. But when I wear this on my body, the middle notes come out and the cedar really comes forward. It becomes this really clean, fresh, cedar fragrance that's balanced by sweet fruits and flowers. What a terrific summer fragrance this is. Versace doesn't have cedar like this and it can be cloying because of the synthetic nature. Thanks to the person on the forums who recommended this to me. I wore this today in 80 degrees Fahrenheit weather and it wore beautifully. I can still smell it several hours after applying it on my shirt. Projection seems moderate to me. I catch whiffs of it while I sit in my office chair. This is one of those hidden gems. I do not have Black XS but I see some people saying it reminds them of that fragrance. I don't see any cedar being listed in any of the Black XS or flanker versions of it. Are you sure your noses are working right? haha.

Received a sample of this today, and here's my thought : First of all, pardon me if the rest of the reviews will look "exaggerating". but i'll tell you the truth. 1. Charriol really change my game in Fragrance world. it really changed the way i "see" scents, and i have to say, this one is a very well blended frags. Hats off to Dominique Ropion ! 2. is it the same with Black XS ? personally, i have to say no. well it has that sweet vibe, but it's way MORE classy and mature. i can see myself wearing suits yet wearing this, but not with Black XS. hope you get my point :D 3. how's this so underrated? well, i have no idea. im just wondering with the same scent labelled as "chanel" / "dior", this might become easily hyped. 4. Compliment getter? NO. people wont give you compliment while wearing this, they will straightly HUG you ! 5. can't wait to get the full bottle. overall : edit after couple of wearing: Scent : 9.5 out of 10 (not changed) Longevity : will update this later. (8 out of 10, i got 6 hours on skin) Projection : Moderate. buy / try / pass : definitely a BUY !

This is a fragrance I got gifted and the first to start my interest in fragrances. It's a masculine sweet fragrance! The scent I pickup is a lot of citruses and slight masculinity. I sprayed 4 times and out of opinion of my friend it's great! I sprayed in the morning and at 6 pm a friend told me that I smell good! It's a good fragrance for midspring and summer. I'll recommend also wearing it to closed places such as schools, offices, but don't wear it to the gym! It's a good day-date fragrance. Scent - 8; Longevity - 7; Sillage - 7; Price - 8. Total: 7.5! Would recommend max 4 sprays for outdoors and 3 for indoors!

A great everyday/office scent! smells gentlemanly yet light. The pear/lime combo keeps it fresh. the combination of the other notes makes it a uniquely classic scent. Did not find it too sweet. The scent reminds me of Lalique L'homme (lion), but lighter. Not that Charriol for Men necessarily smelled like Lalique L'H..., but it did have the same vibe. longevity and sillage good.

Kool stuff, I like everything about charriol, from bijoux, pens to perfume. This one basically is a little similar to paco rabanne black xs and as far as it goes, not very lasting on me. I wonder how the EDP works for me, unfortunately it's not yet available. Getting the sport series soon, can't wait.

delicious...very sweet. makes me want to drink it. woderful scent. love it! some people may find it heavy and too sweet... i live in a tropical country,i get sweaty most of time, so i won't wear it at a daytime. but at night would be perfect. for an intimate date maybe..

Absolutely amazing perfume. Uplifting, bright, fruity, easy wearable. Safe for all occasion, one of my best perfumes. Full of light, best suitable at spring and summer. For me this is a hidden olfactive psycho therapy :)

This is a surprising pleasant sweet pear blended into a soft unisex (somehow a bit masculine) flower scent. The best pear I've smelled in men's scents.

It smells kind of woodsy and lasts for days not to mention SUPER sexy!

For some time I was curious about the fragrances of this Swiss house. Charriol Pour Homme EDT was the first to be launched in 2008, together with the female version. Although it is classified, by the manufacturer itself, as fougère-oriental, in my understanding, it is a fruity-oriental fragrance, since the fruity nuances appear, very clearly, during evolution. The fragrance has top notes of Tuscan lemon, an accord of green leaves and pear. In the heart, notes of lavender, marigold and rose. Ending the composition, notes of amber, musk, and cedar, in the base. The first time I wore it, it reminded me a lot of the perfumes Black XS for Him and Black XS L'Exces, as a mixture of the fruity and sweet aspect of both. This was the immediate relationship that the brain made, which proves that our olfactory memory is of paramount importance and is directly linked to the sensations already experienced. In the second attempt, it was much easier to identify the differences and, mainly, the clearest result of this creation. While the other perfumes are more potent, though more synthetic, this one is more natural. In the opening minutes, what prevails are the nuances of pear, which extend throughout the evolution, embracing the floral heart and joining, with perfection, to the musk. It exudes well, but don't expect a trail just because of the comparisons mentioned above. Charriol Pour Homme EDT is more elegant and has extremely high durability. In addition, a note for women who love men's fragrances: it is perfectly shareable. I can't wait to try the rest of the line.

A sweet cool gin and tonic with a slice of ripe pear. But it isn't sweet in a canned fruit sort of way. It has some calmness to it. This is one of those colone note fruit openings that stays fresh and fruity for a long time. 6 hours or so. It has some summer drink vibe in there. Something like a sip of gin and tonic after biting into a cold ripe pear. A juicy pear at that. The base is light slightly woody but manages to hang on to some of that ripe pear freshness. This is a quality scent. Classy and slightly dressed up. If you like sweet juicy fruit tops and cool wood finishes give it a try.

A very pretty and interesting scent starting off with fresh pear and marigold and drying down to rose, musk, cedar and lemon. The top notes are quite unique, like nothing I've ever smelled. However that fades after about 30 minutes and reveals a base that's shockingly similar to a subduded Paco Rabanne Black XS without the praline note. It shares the same odd sweet note that I just can't put my finger on. It's like flowery candied lemon and rosewood. I would love this if the top notes lasted longer and drydown was less sweet with clean musk, cedar and rose.

This is a very light and pleasant fruity daytime scent suitable for spring and summer. I highly recommend it for doctors and hospitals as it's an uplifting subtle & discreet scent. Very pleasant and safe for office. Longevity is moderate, sillage and projection are low. It is 95% Paco Rabanne Black XS but much toned down with lower sillage and projection. And it is 98% the same with a cheap & weak belarussian edp called Unique by Carlo Bonetti. Unique is greener & brighter than Charriol.

One of the worst scent that I ever smell! I can't stand something sharp and weird in this cologne. Hands off!!

Immediately, Charriol Men brought to mind the DG Light Blue for Her fragrance, but with pear instead of apple and a touch of wateriness. I can't shake the image of an elegant garden party in the Hamptons; it has that kind of vibe. I imagine myself sitting in a cedar garden chair, sipping champagne with a pear garnish, and chatting with friends. Charriol Men is one of the most agreeable fragrances I've ever smelled and can be worn comfortably in three seasons. It's a gem that's worth trying out.

I really like this stuff. It is my best blind buy. Refreshing fruity pear note with well blended flowers and touch of cedar. Spring/summer/early fall scent. Very fun, very natural, not too loud, not tooo sweet. I get 6+ hours. Price/quality one of the best. Highly recomended. One of the best "cheapies".

It's one of the best office friendly scents EVER! Peary, woody and slightly powdery with some white florals. Elegant and kindly. It's not sweet. Just the perfect pure harmony. Subtle, but not weak. On my skin all day long, on my t-shirt neck I feel for DAYS. Mr. Ropion knows it something!

Charriol for Men Eau de Toilette is a simple, one dimensional peach (pear + flowers) fragrance. I have a cheap perfume Made in China, Beijing, that smells identical. Charriol doesn ́t smell like 1 Million. It ́s a soft fruity perfume. Price tag as I said, smells like a chinese perfume.

I absolutely adore this smell, and paid $129 for it in my country. However, I ́ m surprised that Zara Gold smells exactly like this -EXACTLY- and costs $25. Bought them both and no one can tell the difference.
