Ed Hardy Hearts & Daggers for Him

Not bad! Bought two bottles for $13 at my local Marshalls, and was fully expecting the juice to be weak. Surprisingly, not the case. Still potent, vibrant, and hangs on for a while. The opening blast is actually my least favorite part, a huge mess of alcohol and sugary sweetness (or is that just the "martini accord"?). Once it tempers, it becomes much easier to appreciate the spicy pear, rosemary, and guava. Quite refreshing and pleasant, and it stays that way well into the musky, woody drydown. Leaves a nice, fleeting trail of sillage. Nothing hugely impressive, don't get me wrong, but I was pleased with the craftsmanship behind Hearts & Daggers. They really factored layers and longevity into the formula, and it results in a very decent value. 7/10

Figured I’d give this a try, seeing as how I’m covered in American traditional tattoos. Amazing blend of citrus fruity, sparkling freshness, and clean woodiness, like having a fruity cocktail in a barbershop. Easily became my favorite affordable fragrance to throw on for quick errands. Layers amazingly well with Versace Eros Parfum: the citrus top notes blend well until the Ed Hardy fizzles out, but still freshens up the Eros base notes giving a cleaner, almost powdery accent to Eros’s tonka bean/vanilla finish. I wish it lasted a little longer though, as it fades after a hour or so. Regardless, I’m definitely gonna stock up on Hearts & Daggers for Spring and Summer!

Under-rated imo, one of my favorites, esp for how cheap it is. And it goes great with my own natural scent, I get tons of compliments wearing this, not as many as GIT or Rhythm, but top 10 easily for me , of the 20 some I own, not over all. I rank it with 1 million intense or Gucci intense, Burberry Brit, Versace Dreamer, etc. Imo way under-rated, a great scent to have in your collection. I am not kidding ladies love it on me. Like I said not quite the class of some of the others like creeds or fords obviously but definitely a hit for the price and under-rated.

This is another ok fragrance its not terrible like everyone is saying lol the over the top reviews are entertaining. It reminds me of cool water,curve,eternety and aqua di gio its very synthetic and alcaholy at first after that its just soapy nothing terrible but nothing great .i got mine for a bargain dont pay full price for it but if you can get this for a bargain its worth a try. Oh as for compliment it a few :).

I like the smell one of my fave but dosent last, I spray it 5 times two in wrist two in chest and one in bcak of neck to make it notecable. Daly smell I can not describe the smell at all. Smell it before you buy, every store has it Macis, JC Penny. Were it one day out of the week. If you do buy buy the big bottle cuz you are going to spray a lot.

Also, I agree with some of the other posters below, a great starter scent for a younger person, just like aqua di gio would be imo, but not nearly as over-worn as di gio, also does not last as long. But again, great scent and under-rated. But also, more of a younger scent.

Hear me out. This might sound nonsensical but give it a try 1st. I layer this Fragrance with Dior Homme Parfum and something magical happens when these scent profiles meet. I suppose with Dior Homme Intense you could get the same effect. I don't know I haven't tried yet.

This is a wonderful fragrance, a nice clean fresh scent that last all day my favorite from Ed Hardy.

This is a cologne I got during a clearance sale at Wal-Mart on Father's Day weekend for $13 for a 1 oz bottle. The bottle design is very different than the normal and worth a look at. It maybe busy but very cool for the modern punk rock look to it. Make no mistake, it is an Ed Hardy design but it is a very unique bottle design, even differing from the typical glass top. As for smell, Hearts & Daggers is a fragrance that smells like Carolina Herrera's 212 Men or more so 212 Pop Men, just with no musky scent to it off the bat not overly green fresh cut grass smell like 212 Pop Men. My brother who is a 212 wearer thinks it is actually stronger than 212 but I think it is lighter due to the no musk to it. My sister-in-law who got him 212 even said it smelt like 212 and thought he was wrong for saying it was too strong. So far with my experience with the Ed Hardy house (one of my personal favorite fragrance houses), this is the first I have used to not have a musk to it at all (even if it isn't an official note like Love & Luck for men.) That isn't a bad thing, you need to mix it up from time to time but it is far more flowery than the others I've used. Similar to most people with 212 it lasts about five hours before dying out. Projection wise, it's light but it's an Ed Hardy so consider the source. Overall this is worth a shot. I would say a 7.2 out of 10. It's pretty well worth the price even if when I originally rated it, I gave it a 6.8 but as time has gone on, I have liked smelling it even more. Weird how some fragrances need to grow on you. For me, this was one that did.

This is a solid fragrance. I am one of the few fans of the Ed Hardy brand... Well their fragrances anyways, and this is my second favorite from them so far. To sum this fragrance up it is a fresh spicy scent that focuses on a pear note (which is very nice if I don't say so myself). In the opening it is a very soapy scent, but as it sits this begins to fade as the pear becomes more appearent. Its versatile, has descent projection and longevity, and will get a few compliments. Nothing to crazy, but still very nice. In my opinion this is great for work/school, and is wearable year-round. This could be a signature scent. Light. Sharp. Woody. Spicy. Aromatic. Herbal. Blind buy. Not my fave tbh. I don't hate it but I don't love it. It was cheap under $20 so not a loss. Honestly bought it for the packaging. It enticed me. Good job Ed hardy for standing out! But I've smelled better. l'll use but won't repurchase, don't like it enough to. The suede & basil stand out the most! Smells like a spice bomb on me. Scent itself - 3/5 Nice. but not my kind of scent. Not into spicy aromatic scents. Sillage - 3/5 Moderate for a toilette. Could be stronger. an hour or so Packaging - 4/5 Unique. I love the oversized lid. Pretty colors & vibrant design. Overall - 4/5. Not bad. Good value. Under $20

Bought one bottle as a blind buy for about $20. I really like the scent, it would be perfect as a light, neutral but refreshing summer fragrance. EDIT: I tried this again after a long time, looking what I might be wearing the coming spring/summer. For some reason I am now getting good longevity on the fragrance? Projection still isn't that heavy, but longevity was easily around 8 hours (projecting 2-3 hours), and even after this up to 12 hours but this was just VERY close skin scent. Earlier my review said it doent have any longevity - I am wondering what has changed on my skin? :D

I like the fragrance but it isn't lasting at all. It's very, very light. It's more of those after you shower get in the bed colognes. Definitely overpriced because of the name and the bottle is colorful but it's cheap looking, like the new Polo line. I'm thinking a teenie-bopper cologne that's high for high schoolers but to wear for a night out, professional affair, dates, etc, . . . Crickets.. Crickets.. This is such a gorgeous fragrance. Reminds me of being on a tropical holiday. A real fruity aquatic smell. It lasts moderately (on me), but may be different on others... I procured a bottle of this juice after wearing a sample vile with consistent enjoyment. Upon using the bottle, I found the stuff less and less appealing. There certainly is something here, but that something just isn't enough for me. Anyone want to trade? :)

Hearts & Daggers is a fruity, fresh and clean fragrance. It opens with a strong alcohol note (Martini's coquetel note, maybe) but in other hand this edt smells delicious after first ten minutes. Good long-lasting and moderate sillage. My final score: 8.0/10.

This is a sweet and fruity fragrance that isn't as subtle as some say. It's not bad for $20 and is something to reach for when you're going to run errands or just want something that is pleasant. It's a fun and casual scent that happens to smell damn good.

I have this frag, but i use to like it bit it remind me my ex girlfriend! I have a bottle that 90% left, i sell it or exchange it to someone who's interested!

The longevity is just insane! Lasts for around 20 hours on my skin, but the smell isn't that pleasant. Lots of pepper and sour fruits and sour citruses.

my cousins wife said it was okay without all the alcohol in it, I'm guessing it would be the martini.

I believe this is a very fresh nice and not very strong fragrance its good and great for the price

if Aqua di Gio Profondo and Versace Dylan Blue had a baby, this would be it. good cheap freshie.

Fantastic cheapie. Sweet and fresh spicy. Very youthful and bright. Ideal for a young teenager.

Meh. Blind buy from a reputable online store. (Jomashop) My bottle was weak. Save your money and get something much better.

A lot of fresh smells here. Subtle fruits. Woods and greens. The bottle is a gorgeous turquoise.

the sweetest edt i think i own kinda sicking .

A horrible bubblegum cologne. It starts off very fruity with pear and papayas. Fades to wood, pepper and patchouli and ends with cooking herbs and sandalwood. To my nose, this starts off too fruity, transititions to a muddy mix that really doesn't go well together and ends in another conflicting combinations of aromas. I really don't know who this would appeal to. Young men don't tend to go for florals or fruits and older men tend toward masculine florals, ambers, woods, tobacco and the like. I suspect the only appeal is the packaging....oh well, it certainly is not to my taste. Update: I gave this one another go. It's not as bad as my first experience. It starts off very sharply then fades slightly into a seaside ozone and ocean breeze and finally into a mellower beach scent. Not my favorite, but surprising staying power even after a quick shower.

I bought this a few years ago via blind buy along with David Beckham Instinct. Instinct? Awesome! Love it! Hearts & Daggers? Hate it! To me, it has a very non-exclusive, sharp, pungent smell to it; something that I have come across, it would seem, a million times before but just can't place where. This one, though, is so sharp, that it can make you sick to your stomach. It may be good for some thirteen- or fourteen-year-olds who don't have sensitive noses, but definitely nothing to write home about, especially for teeny-boppers who are trying to be swaggering-cool, as would be insinuated by the "tattoo" artwork on the over-sized cap. For me, it sucks! Overall: 1/10

A great starter fragrance for your teenage son, nephew or whatever. Well priced at about 20 bucks. Nice pear and papaya scent that lingers throughout the duration of the scent but not my type. Slightly woody drydown with minimum sillage. I gave it 8 sprays about 3 hours ago and only get a faint whiff of it. Nice for a beginner but I will pass it on to my cousin most likely.

I sprayed this at Ulta on a test strip, it was so cloying, fruity, and nasty I ran out of the store. The next day I found the strip sitting in my car (I must have blacked out) I had to kick it out the door because I was afraid to touch it.

Another cheap fragrance that isn't totally wrong/inappropriate, but I wouldn't dare pay the full retail price. The opening alcohol blast is a big turn off.

Hideous. Boozy and sweet. Like a hiccup from a ripe drunk. Nasty. BUT! I will state that the bottle accurately represents what is within.

I've given this fragrance a few days worth of wearing and I can say with all honesty that it is one of the few recent purchases that I really dislike. It has a sharp, sour fruity top, peppery middle, and indistinct synthetic woody note base. Thank goodness it's rather weak and doesn't last long. I'm not sure if the batch I got, a very recent one, is just really watered down on some of the notes, or if this fragrance just always smells bad, but I don't plan on ever wearing this again. It smells indistinct, tart, and boring. It might appeal to really younger noses - that is, fragrance neophytes - but it has no sophistication, and basically smells cheap and badly formulated.

This is a mess, but could be a hidden gem for someone.

This thing really has no right to smell as good as it does. I've been sitting on one of those samples of this that they throw in when you order online for a while, but never bought a full bottle. I may consider it now, nevermind the horrible bottle. I think if somebody like Paco Rabanne, or even really any other designer put this out it would have been a huge hit and competitive with 1 Million. It's obviously inspired by that one, except here the sweetness is turned down almost completely and everything is rendered in a more aquatic, salty, tropical fashion. I think the noses behind Invictus must have caught wind of this one and just threw in a bucketload of ethyl maltol and woody ambers. Out of all fragrances I've ever smelled, this is somehow the closest to reminding me of actually being on a cruise or vacation. You can smell the sea air, the poolside cocktails, and fruit baskets. This leads into the base where you can feel the hum of the boat's engine and the cigar room with leather chairs. The perfumer somehow did all of this without any sea notes at all, I'm guessing all the saltiness is from that "martini" accord. It reminds me a lot of Ann Gottlieb's work and I wouldn't be surprised to learn she is the nose behind this, as there is none officially listed. It definitely has a hardcore 2000's vibe and to some might come off as a bit dated. I think it's worth smelling for the fact that it was essentially a predictor for all of the current salty fruity woody fragrances that have been coming out. The pear note is essentially what Ultra Male thinks it's doing, and many other fragrances obviously took hints from this. The current price may warrant a full bottle purchase for me sometime in the future. Great stuff!

My best friend wears this fragrance, but I never identified it on him, just saw this fragrance bottle on his dresser a few times when I went to his house for drinks. I'm now aware that this is the fragrance I didn't particularly like him wearing. The scent is fruity and peppery, but not in a pleasant way. The opening top notes aren't too bad and for a few seconds you may believe that this will develop into quite a likable fragrance. I particularly enjoyed the icy papaya and mashed pear accords before the enslaught of pepper and the so-called martini note. The heart is, dare I say it, rather cheap smelling. The fruits are strong and sharp, further ruined by the clashing of earthy patchouli and sneeze-worthy pepper. I had to stop halfway through writing this review to go and take a headache tablet. No joke. The drydown was quite generic and plain, just a mediocre sandalwood and patchouli blend. Not a conclusion that I found particularly wonderful, but in some ways a refreshing one when the sharp heart fades away. The lasting strength was so-so, and the sillage moderate, at times a little strong. All in all, I'd pick a cheap drugstore scent or choose to wear a deoderant rather than Ed Hardy Hearts & Daggers. Sorry to anyone I offend.

I really wanted to like this as I LOVE Love n Luck as it the first cologne that I bought that got me attention and later causing me to start collecting fragrances. And I love finding fragrances that are cheapie but goodies but unfortunately this is not 1 of those fragrances. However, I don't completely hate this. I do really like the fresh and fruity notes but the basil and pepper just don't mesh with the fruity notes and it makes this a synthetic mess of a fragrance. Also worth noting is that basil has been a hit or miss on my skin but more times than not a miss. This was also a bit sweet for my taste. This isn't a horrible fragrance but it's not really for me. I do see a lot of positive reviews on this and I can see why some people would love this. 1 positive thing I do have to say is that this is unique as I can't really think of any other fragrance that smells like this. Performance--- on me this is lasts 3-6 hours and has very little projection and silage. Overall rating ---6.5 out of 10 ! Not horrible but for me this is a pass. I just am not digging this

There isn’t much to be said. Hearts & Daggers smells good but it is super generic. You can pretty much put Hearts & Daggers, Nautica Voyage, Kenneth Cole Reaction, and Gucci Made To Measure in the same category. They smell very similar IMO. They project a short time and they don’t last long. At least on my skin. Hearts & Daggers can be found at stores like TJ Maxx now wicked cheap. I don’t remember paying any more that $10 or $12 for a 1.7oz bottle. Worth a shot I suppose. Worst case scenario, the bottle will look badass in your collection. By far one of the most unique bottles I have. Overall I give this a 4/10 given all factors.

The reviewer below me is bang on. This really has no business smelling as good as it does. I can’t explain it, it’s a cheap scent, and slightly synthetic smelling, but if this scent could last longer than a couple of hours I’d be very happy about it. I get mostly the martini, basil, and suede. I timed this one and after about 1 hour and 30 minutes it become a skin scent. Luckily for me I bought a set of this cologne that include underarm deodorant, with the shampoo, so this extends everything a little longer but not much. P.S. This does NOT smell like Kenneth Cole vintage black. I’m not sure where that comparison came from.

Diesel Fuel for Life mixed with Versace Dylan Blue, that's kind of the vibe of this scent. Not amazing, not groundbreaking, but much more pleasant than the bottle design would suggest lol. Good projection, decent performance but a pretty synthetic, fruity, blue scent with the now standard fuzzy woodsiness underneath. This stuff really reminds me of the late 2000's and the type of smell that you would come across in a high school party. All that being said, you can do a lot worse for what you're paying

Take Chrome Legend, swap out the jasmine with pear, and rough up the aldehydes a bit, and you have Hearts & Daggers. Smells like a "spiky" aquatic accord of harsh mineralic and aldehydic effects overlaying a sweet pear compote. Interesting, compelling, but sort of the 8-bit version of what Azzaro did with 64.

Tried it on my wrists, and it instantly brought me back to 1997 when I was wearing CK Eternity every day in high school. So it gives the same aura - fresh, fruity yet masculine, and somewhat 'aggressive' and young, which I guess makes sense considering the marketing behind it.

While it is hardly original, it is inoffensive and quite pleasant. I got a free sample but this is not something I would buy. I was expecting more of a composition similar to Eternity and the listing above surprises me - especially the pear and melon. Nice, but unsurprising.

A boy in my class sprayed this all over the buss when I was on a classtrip to Berlin last week, and it was sooo strong... I wouldn't want by boyfriend to wear this to be honest.

smelled this at buckle and its nice but the scent is too much like love and luck to be an original one they both have the same fresh soaply clean smell that can be synthetic

Smells almost exactly like Alfred Sung's Paradise to my nose. Fresh and zingy clean smelling fragrance, not up to much longevity wise unfortunately. Won't buy again for me.

A little generic, but smells pretty good, the basil and pear notes at the top are very noticeable and interesting and the dry down is woody and masculine.
