Velvet Flora

I’m not sure what notes it is exactly, but the opening through mid reminds me of a blue / aquatic fragrance - maybe it’s the lily? The saffron takes some time to come out, but it’s so interesting and livens the whole scent up. The drydown has that Clean-brand soapy white musk, but mixed with some cedar and oak moss. It’s like when night falls at the campsite and it’s chilly even though it’s summer, so you put on the freshly washed sweatshirt you brought and get a whiff of the clean laundry. This lasts all day on me if I spray on top of lotion, but never projects far. It lasts absolute ages on clothes, and makes my sweaters and jackets smell like I use very expensive and classy fabric softener. It’s unisex and office friendly, though it really reminds me of being outside. I always feel a little goofy putting on perfume just to stop by the farmers market or to head out on a hike, but this would be perfect for exactly that.

This is lovely, and has the Clean DNA in it that makes it hard to discriminate individual notes. The woody cedar isn't strong and holds the lily and saffron together with the mossy base. I didn't really get the top note of bergamot, but there are so many base notes that it's competing against a lot. This is soft and very office friendly. I'd say it leans feminine although it is unisex. I like this one so much I checked out the prices online; but considering the longevity, which is only a couple of hours on me, and the sillage, which is moderate and then a skin scent after about 30 minutes, it doesn't make sense at that price point. Ah Clean...this reserve is lovely but only dateable...I can't commit long term until I win a lottery. Check out a sample, but don't blind buy this unless you don't blink at the price.

The difference between enjoying this fragrance and being disappointed by it is in the name. When I first purchased this I was looking for a floral experience that didn't exist and I didn't like this. However, focusing on the mentioned notes and accords has turned this into a love. The saffron is so enjoyable. I cannot describe how pleasing it is to me. Above all, this scent is spicy and woody while keeping its Clean identity. The white florals help this lean feminine. It also has better projection that other CR scents. I don't love its short longevity but I love everything else especially the delicate oriental touch. It's office friendly but something about this makes it lactonic and so relaxing. I feel like I'm bathing in coconut milk, spices, white floral petals, all while lighting Palo Santo in the middle of the forest.

Velvet Flora is a woody, mossy, patchouli floral. Very unisex. I get violet w/ this one which is strange because it isn't listed but I smell it all the same. Mossy, patchouli, violet, woody. This leans more masculine. A nice floral for a man. Green and dusky violet are the colors that come to mind when I smell this.

The name is a bit misleading on this one. It’s is a warm woody scent with a light spicy feeling from the saffron. I get almost no florals. It is definitely unisex leaning a bit masculine. The dry down is more creamy and clean. It’s a nice scent - but not something I need a full bottle of.
