Bouquet Lilas

Bouquet Lilas was launched at the beginning of November 2023, celebrating the spring season, just as happened in 2019, when Condé Parfum launched Jardin Jaune. However, the fragrance of the latter was classified as floral-oriental, while that of the launch is floral-fruity. This time, the color chosen to be portrayed by the perfumer was lilac. Those who don't know the fragrance might think: “Surely, the fragrance must have a lot of iris or lilac flowers, with a touch of lavender”. But that's not exactly how Bouquet Lilas was built. On my skin, the opening is really fruity and slightly juicy, with a lot of emphasis on the notes of pear and plum. But the bergamot cuts through any ideas you might have about sweetness or teenage character. In fact, the output is brief and the lilac bouquet – which bears the name – doesn’t take long to appear. That said, the entire floral complex and its various nuances can basically be summarized by the notes of peony, freesia, and violet. The first gives a fresh and clean content; the second brings greener and spicy nuances; while the latter gives the sweetness and the softly powdery tone that makes the fragrance more shareable. Finally, the evolution reveals a creamy base, with a lot of sandalwood presence. I can't feel the almond sweetness of the tonka bean, and I confess that I think it's great that it didn't happen. I'm not going to dwell on the merits of being a feminine or masculine fragrance, because at this point, anyone who knows the main foundations of Haute Perfumery and the creative style of perfumer Fábio Condé, already knows the brand's response and positioning to this respect. However, I need to comment on Bouquet Lilas' performance. This is the most delicate fragrance ever launched by the brand. And I say delicate in all its context: graceful, fragile, light, subtle, serene, etc. Therefore, I find the expectation of a so-called powerful fragrance problematic, something it definitely is not. Beautiful yes, but delicate! For me, Bouquet Lilas is on the same level as Éclat d’Arpége Eau de Parfum, including the similarities in color, olfactory profile, durability, and gentleness. And it was about time, since the company already launched ten perfumes known for their potency, before this one, and the story that Indie (or Niche) Perfumery only creates extravagant, bombastic, and exclusive fragrances is nothing more than a myth and pure lack of knowledge.

I thought I would get lilac because of the name. So when I sprayed it, I got confused. Then I saw the notes. For me, it has a jumble of flowers, and I am having difficulty discerning different notes. It is not bad, but not my preferred scent profile.
