Cologne Bleue

His experience as a collector and YouTuber allowed him to capture nuances and recreate olfactory atmospheres that evoke both classic and modern styles, and this essence is very clear in this perfume. The opening is radiant and sparkling, with an energizing, clean, and airy citrus freshness. The citrus and neroli notes immediately bring the sensation of a fresh bath, a cool breeze, and vitality. Aldehydes then emerge with their bright and slightly metallic facets, conferring a sophisticated, clean, and timeless air. In the base, musk enters the scene, rounding out the fragrance with softness, leaving a comfortable, soft, and enveloping trail that balances the initial freshness with a warm, almost "welcoming" base. The result is a fragrance reminiscent of classic luxury colognes, but with a fuller-bodied performance. Longevity: around 7 hours, excellent for the citrus category, which generally tends to fade quickly. Projection/trail: strong in the first few hours, leaving a striking sensation of freshness wherever it goes, before settling more intimately. Cologne Bleue is perfect for everyday wear, especially on warm spring and summer days, where the citrus freshness is very welcome. Ideal for work, casual encounters, outdoor activities, and even as an olfactory signature for those who like to convey lightness and sophistication without overdoing it. Final Score Cologne Bleue is a perfume that masterfully delivers on its promise of clean, elegant, and shareable freshness, elevating the concept of classic cologne to a level of greater sophistication and longevity. For its versatility, excellent performance, and the personal touch of a perfumer-collector passionate about the art, it deserves a 9/10.

Cologne Bleue was launched at the end of 2018 along with the arrival of summer in Brazil. This is not a limited edition (Summer Edition), but the moment was very conducive because it is a fragrance whose creative concept was to convey pure freshness. This time, the brand did not comment much about the olfactory pyramid and described the composition as a mix of citrus, neroli, aldehydes, and musk. However, I got some information from the perfumer and creator of the company - Fábio Condé - who, in a positive way, called me "naughty nose" (LOL). After all, to say that a perfume of extreme freshness has citrusy notes and not to unravel them is, practically, a crime. Cologne Bleue has, in its citric accord, a beautiful mix of bergamot, yuzu, lime, and ginger, among other notes. And here, I leave my first comment: who liked the output of the defunct Armani Code Sport Athlete, will like this creation very much. On the skin, the fragrance has an explosive citrus output, in which bergamot reigns for about 10 minutes. Then we have acidity, freshness and a nice touch of unpretentious naturalness, which has not been easy to find with so many restrictions and synthesized molecules in this market. As time goes by, the neroli permeates through all evolution and Cologne Bleue loses potency, even though it has great durability for such a volatile perfume. And here, I leave my second comment: if you are looking for a bomb of projection and durability, this is not your fragrance. In my interpretation, Cologne Bleue pairs with Chypre Clair, the latter being a bit more feminine, if I can label something here. And what I realize, again, is the personal touch of the creator in his creature. For me, this was the perfumer's alternative to offer something in the classic mold of an Acqua di Parma, priced at No. 4711 Original Eau de Cologne, through creative independence. My only problem is regarding the name of the product: I can not, in any way, connect the blue color to what the fragrance brings to me. For that, it would take much more marine content, with some fruity touch and a pinch of woods in the background. Instead of Cologne Bleue, in my opinion, Cologne Vert would make more sense.

As much as I love Condé and fully support Brazilian niche perfumery, Cologne Bleue just wasn't for me. I can definitely appreciate the quality and why so many people enjoy it, but I really didn't like the scent. To my nose, it has this very aquatic, aldehydic vibe that comes across almost like pool water and sunscreen. I know that's exactly what some people love about it, but it just doesn't work for me. The performance is excellent for a fresh fragrance, but no amount of longevity can make me enjoy a scent I simply don't connect with. I'm still a huge fan of the brand, but this one was an easy pass for me.
