Cuba Blue

I bought the ubiquitous Cuba "four pack" for next to nothing at Ross and found the Blue extremely pleasant to wear in our current hot weather. It does seem rather light and floral for a "man's" scent. But on my (woman's) skin it is wonderfull. The top notes are lavender and spices, and a bit in your face. But it almost immediately settles down to a very close, light, spicy floral. I sprayed my skin and clothing liberally and left for work with no fear of offending. I caught whiffs of it throughout the morning and could smell it clearly on my skin if I sniffed closely. On my clothing the top notes seemed to last longer. One of the most pleasant aspects of the dry down, for me, is a soft papery smell that cuts through the residual floral notes. The paper smell reminds me of the cured tobbaco leaves used to wrap cigars and it seem to soften the floral spice and make it really smooth and soothing. Sillage is slight and duration about four hours. Having just learned that I can't stand the citrusy flowery sweetness of Acqua di Gioia, I am very happy to have found an inexpensive warm weather scent that practices floral restraint while still providing a pleasant olfactory experience.

Simply fantastic ! It has a very rich expensive vibe to it! I wear this pretty often. I have over 50 colognes that I love but I choose this one frequently. It has awesome water notes but they're not overdone. Reminds me of being at the beach, toes dug in the sand with a cold beverage in hand ! Scent Rating 4 out of 5 ! Price ~ 5-10 dollars !

Out of all the varieties I like the blue the best. I had the multi pack and once I used it up I bought the large bottle. For the price you can't go wrong. I don't get all the hate and comparisons to other brands. It is definitely worth a try. It is made in France which surprised me.

I think this fragrance is a beast for the price I think the smell is just like the likes of ck1 or azzaro chrome very good would recommend

This was initially suggested (like a decade ago) to be an alternative to Azzaro chrome; The scent trail resembles more of CK One and dries down to a rather musky sandalwood and oakmoss which is pleasant. The price is cheap - I got this in a 4 pack along with other variety at a rack store; This opens up citrusy with hint of herbal/green accord, and is pleasantly synthetic. Lasts about 6 hours, stronger projection first 2 hours or so. It is a good cheapie and a gym scent

I don't see how people are comparing this to CK One. I have CK One and this smells nothing like it. CK One is more of spring time citrusy scent and this Cuba Blue is more of a 'blue'y' city scent. My wife says she likes this scent even more than some $30-$50 EDTs that I've bought so I don't get the hate either. Maybe the scent is closer to Azzaro Chrome but def not CK One. She also likes Cuba Gold, which I consider their original scent.

Today, I bought a four-pack sampler of these Cuba cigar fragrances. Blue, to me, is a soapy and comforting scent. I find it very similar to Burberry Weekend, also reminiscent of Calvin Klein One. I can't pick out any notes except for "soapiness," and I think this will be a great cozy scent for cool summer nights. Nothing groundbreaking, but for my $2.50 USD 35 ml bottle, I'm pleasantly surprised!

Ok I wear this one quite a bit actually. As a casual scent. It is very much Azzaro Chrome to me. I dont get all the hate on this one to be honest. Its a fresh clean scent. Super cheap. Definitely worth the money. However... Chrome is pretty cheap. So im not sure where the need for this one came from. I got it in a 4 pack. Just spend 20 dollars or so on Chrome.

This cologne is actually really good. I got in a package of 4 and it’s really good. It’s long lasting enough for a work day but not too strong it gives you headaches. I wasn’t sure about the “musky” description but it’s not bad at all. It almost smells more floral then it does vanilla but it’s really nice. The packaging is cute and it was actually very cheap.

Fresh clean and powdery, sort of synthetic when first sprayed. Give it about 5 minutes and that disappears. In the next 10 minutes it melds into a musky, woody freshness that's good to boot! Again classic aromas for nostalgic values. As always! Try it for yourself, everyone has different DNA!!!

Smells very "metallic", is not a bad fragrance but is like a body mist, only lasts an hour, a decent smell, i use it as a body spray after sweating while i'm working or after swiming instead use deodorant spray, a good cheapie also good as room freshner :)

A good copy of CK One (Calvin Klein). Neither more nor less. Very comfortable, soft, daytime. A great option mainly because of the price. On my skin remains even after bathing.

Huele rico, es un aroma parecido a CK one, un poco más terroso y menos floral. Es una pena que dure tan poco y que no proyecte tanto.

Cuba blue is a great fragrance without the tobacco notes like other cubas. Its fresh and last hours in my skin

Good CK1 clone. Only issue is the OG is cheap as heck.

First test of this and it is already a fail because this really should not be called a blue fragrance. They probably should have called it breeze or something. There is only a small hint of blue sweetness, but it is mainly ozonic with a synthetic minerality. It is really closer to Chrome OG mixed with Chrome Legend only with a more distinctly soapy note. There is nothing really refreshing about this either. Still it is not a bad smelling fragrance, and it is one of the cheapest fragrances made, so it gets an OK rating.

#20 in my "Tour de Fragrance" This scent is so weak out of the bottle it's barely noticeable, and even at 12 sprays the scent doesn't last an hour and the sillage is about a centimeter. It went straight in the garbage. I bought everything Cuba Paris makes just to see if any scent at those price points is worth having. Cuba Blue is definitely not worth even the small amount of money it costs.

Parfum qui se porte bien l'été. Frais et aquatique. Il ressemble comme 2 gouttes d'eau à Chrome d'Azzaro. Avec une assez bonne longévité de 4 heures sur moi. Produit petit prix alors pourquoi se priver ? Si vous aimez Chrome alors allez y !

Fresh, clean, and powdery. It has a nice dry down and reminds me a lot of Chrome by Azzaro. I'd gotten this from a four pack that was really cheap. It starts off with a citrusy, floral blast and has some floral powder. It starts to dry down with a bit of musk, but the powder is very prominent. The base notes still have that musk and floral powder well until it has disappeared. Much like most of the Cuba line, the longevity does not last, but on the other hand you can certainly spray more as it is very affordable and travel-sized. It lasts about 3 to 4 hours on my skin. Overall, I'm not a big fan of floral powder, so this wasn't my fancy. A 4/10 for me! Cheers!

I don't get any citrus from this, nor do I get any Chrome. It just smells like baby wipes to me for an hour or so before drying down to a very weak vanilla, which actually smells quite nice to my nose, it's just a shame the sillage is so poor. For this reason, I'd definitely recommend it as a summer fragrance to get the best possible performance out of it. Even so, it's probably my least favorite of the Cuba 4-pack; I can't think of an instance where I'd rather use it instead of Gold, Orange, or Red, especially given that the pack itself is so cheap. Those three colognes are all great value...Blue, not so much. I could do without it.

I found Cuba Blue to open with a massively overpowering aroma of powder and ... something. Kind of like lavender ... maybe it should be called robo-lavender? The room was filled with a scent like a tornado smashed a barber shop into a baby powder factory. After a while, it calmed down a little and some more interesting aromas could be detected. But still, the main notes of this fragrance are very off-putting to me. I simply would not wear this, and I would even think twice about spraying it in my bathroom. I gave the bottle away, but I would have thrown it away. I like some of the other Cuba scents, but this one was a no-go for me.

If it's the same "Blue" than the one in the Cuba Classic set, then I have to pass. It has a VERY strong alcohol odor at the beginning, that feels more like a low budget after-shave lotion. After a few minutes, it settles up leaving a somewhat fresh/aqua sensation. It has a very short projection (barely above skin), but it's so faint and unassuming, with such a short lasting power, that there is no value in getting this one. It does loosely remind to Azzaro Chrome, but it's nowhere as good in any front. So, I do not actively dislike its fragrance, but it's just not worthy. There are better alternatives, even among Cuba.

3/10 - This stuff just isn't good (in my opinion). It's cheap, but it's a noticeably low-quality, harsh take on a blue/fresh fragrance. To me, it smells like rotting grass - lacking in any freshness or appealing woody/amber notes that I would want to see from a blue frag/freshie. There are so many superior offerings in this style for an extremely small increase in price (the Cool Water line comes to mind, and even Nautica exhibits a significant jump in quality). The worst offering from Cuba that I've tried.

Accidentally tested this one thinking it was a woman's fragrance. Meh. Smells like common shaving soap, the one sold in tubes like the toothpaste ones. Innofensive, vaguely masculine, but I'd rather smell something with more character in a man, maybe something woody or resinous or the old aromatic herbal.

Very similar to Chrome. But Chrome to me is the worst of the serie. Almost all the flankers are better. I tried a couple of Cuba fragrances and they are all very synthetic. But also cheap. Around 4 euros for 30ml. So what can you expect. I would recommend to pay a little more for a better fragrance.

Smells like a mix of pepper, soap, and baby wipes. I have Cuba Red, Blue, Gold, Orange, and Prestige and this is the only of them that is bad. I've been using it to spray my friends in school as a mean joke because of how bad it is.

On my skin, this one smells a similar to CK One. Nice enough fragrance, especially for the price, but nothing outstanding either. To be fair, I haven't been much of a fan of CK fragrances either since Calvin was discontinued.

It tries to play off of chrome but it sucks. I get that citrusy metallic vibe and it goes almost as quickly as it comes. The stuff lasts maybe 30 minutes to an hour on me. I won't wear it again, maybe just an air freshner.

Just Plain Nasty. Smells like baby wipes in the worst way passible. I would only wear it if I was stuck smelling like sweat and had nothing else. Worst frag I've ever tried (not that I'm an expert at all).

This is actually a pretty good SOAPY scent. Yes, it's in the same family as Azzaro Chrome, and CK One. Though it's not a dupe of either in my opinion. As it has a much more soapy quality then both of them. It's soapiness reminds me a little bit of Acqua Essenziale Colonia by Salvatore Ferragamo, or Acqua Essenza Colonia by Acqua Di Parma. No, Cuba Blue isn't a dupe of these either. However, it reminds me of certain elements of Chrome, and the soapy elements of Salvatore Ferragamo & Acqua Essenza Colonia by Acqua Di Parma. One other thing came to my mind. Dove has it's modern line of deoderant and shower gels that's a very nice soapy (not shower gel, but soapy, there is a difference) sporty smell. Cuba Blue smells like it would be a new scent in their line up. Which to me isn't a bad thing at all. I had this scent in the sample pack like many have bought at Ross or Marshalls. Ignored it for a long time. However, one day I just spayed a little bit on my shirt before I left for a day of running errands. Later on in the day I noticed a nice soapy scent around me and realized it was ME that smelled so good! The reason why I think this one gets a bad wrap is a great many I believe spay this on their wrist and they dig their nose in looking for complex notes. This is something I think shouldn't be done with cheaper fragrances and expensive fragrances alike. Let the scent breathe and waft around before you make up your mind. A good example of this is Drakkar Noir. Way different scent then this one. However, when people dig their nose into their arm. Many say it's smells bad or old. However, when they smell it in the air on someone as they pass by, it smells very nice and they all of a sudden like it. The other problem I believe is this fragrance is a victim of fragrance snobbery. I even found myself questioning my opinion about this scent after reading some negative reviews, calling it a synthetic mess. Yes, there are some fragrances out there that smell terrible, and in my opinion this isn't one of them. It's smells rather nice, and very clean and soapy with a twist of Chrome. I enjoy it and grabbed myself a bigger bottle once I was finished with the sample spray. Cuba Fragrances have some good ones. Not all of them a bangers, but this one is pretty darn good and should be considered. Especially if you like the clean soapy sport style fragrances. At the price, it's pretty good. This doesn't smell old or out dated, etc. It's smells clean and nice, and works well on clothes.

Cuba Blue, like the rest of its Cuba stablemates, relies more on its novelty elements thanks to its cheap but creative packaging that combines several disparaging and contradictory elements. A Cuban cigar body with the face of an American inventor and statesman from Pennsylvania raised in a world of Quakers and German immigrants, Benjamin Franklin, manufactured in France and given a name referencing pastoral tranquility? Maybe Thomas Jefferson and images of Tobacco fields would have been more fitting for the entire affair, but for its embracing of pure tackiness, Cuba fragrances are synonymous with fun. The opening is a burst of lavender and alcohol that calms down quickly into a familiar CK One aquatic/floral, but reaching higher into the floral qualities. The middle notes are when the metallic elements of Azzaro Chrome surface, but they last only a few flashing moments before the nondescript dry down of lavender, musk and vanilla take over. Cuba Blue smells astonishingly good and well-blended and the most natural of all the Cuba releases, despite being a wholly synthetic creation. Not exactly Chrome, leans more towards Calvin Klein's CK One but with far lower projection and silage and about a quarter of the lifespan. A fresh scent with a touch of floral, musk and moss that is far less cloying than Cuba's original release Gold. Hard to pick off the skin, works to its advantage in that the lavender doesn't ever overwhelm. The major downfall of Blue is two-fold. It simply clings too tightly to the skin and lasts only about an hour before becoming quite faint and unrecognizable. Blue is a light, earthy aquatic and lavender fragrance better suited for the heat. Nothing particularly distinguishing, but the most natural smelling of the Cuba line. Completely and purely unoriginal in all but the packaging, Cuba Blue is pathetically light and weak, short-lived and cheap, but oh so fun and unique, all the same. Only for those with a sense of humor and an appreciation of camp and pure tackiness.

This review is for Cuba's Silver Blue, which is not yet in the database. It got some glowing reviews on Amazon, so I thought it would be a good idea to "set the record straight." The impression I got from those reviews is that it's strong and it begins with some "masculine" fruitiness and ends with a creamy citrus, perhaps in the Allure Homme Sport ballpark. Instead, it just seemed like my recollection of Cuba Blue, to the point that I wouldn't be surprised if the wrong liquid was put into this bottle! It's non-descript, ever so slightly fruity, woody, and sweet, and it's mildly musky. I guess it would be okay as a gift, since it cost about $4 for 100 ml and I got the cap and canister. For a creamy, sweet citrus scent, I'd suggest Magnet for Men by Eclectic Collections, which was selling for not much more online a few months ago. Silver Blue is what I think of as a "nothing scent" - I'd rather not think of spraying anything on than actually go through the motions of spraying this on. I'll be Santa's Helper with this one, as it's a great stocking stuffer!

If you can get this for less than ten bucks (and you can always) then I think it's a fantastic choice for your shaving cream blue shelf spot. I think it's a lot spicier and more masculine than CK1 but not as potent or dramatic as Chrome. But I don't personally I don't like the Chrome line enough to justify the price jump. Kind of like Nautica Voyage but again less sweet more spicy. Just get a couple cheap bottles of this and spray like mad (but the performance isn't horrible). My two big recommendations for the blue shaving cream shelf spot are Armaf Legesi and this. Armaf Legesi is an AMAZING fragrance and almost as cheap as this. Most all others Armani Code (which sucks I wouldn't wear it if it was free), LR Carbon, etc. are way overpriced and don't smell nearly as good as Legesi. If you want to spend more on a blue fragrance make it a fancy night out "bleu" like Chanel, Historic Olmeda, or Versace Pour Homme.

This is also for Silver Blue. I gave CSB to a friend as a Christmas gift and sprayed on my skin before buying. I had heard that it was a weak clone of Allure (I really don't know if this is the case) but it was really nice, fruity, light (a must in over 100 F temps) but perfectly felt and lasted for 5/6 hours (not bad considering the heat).Really liked, on my skin it is on par with Royal and Gold. And my friend loved it.

It seems similar to Davidoff Cool Water, but a weaker version of it. At first spray it comes off very metallic and manly w/ the hit of vanilla and woods instantly recognizable, but fades within minutes leaving just a feint watery musky note. Best to take with you while out and re-apply just before you wanna be noticed.

It compliments Cuba Paris Red very well! I sprayed a slight amount of both on me, and once again, it smells naturally appealing to the scent. a slight musk combined with warm spices and a hint of tobacco/vanilla. Very in tone with what a masculine man likes, and my lady likes it on me also, and i'm happy about that.

Cuba Blue is a nice fresh everyday scent, very similar to Ck one mixed in with some Cool water. I got this in a 1.7 set with Cuba red orange and gold which is the best of the series for 10 bucks from Citi Trends of all places. Cuba Blue is a great everyday scent that wont harm anyone around you

This is CK One and/or Azzaro Chrome with the "Cuban-ade" accord of vanilla-musk floating distantly in the background. Surprisingly long-lasting. If the sound of this appeals to you, it is more than worth a blind buy. Nicely done for the price of admission.

Adding to the Azzaro Chrome comparisons. They really are very similar. I would get this over Chrome for the price, considering they’re both nothing special, just a nice fresh summer day cologne.

This scent smells like Bleu de Chanel. I don't detect CK One, Azzaro Chrome or Cool Water at all. It's a copy of Bleu de Chanel, lower projection and silage,certainly, but they smell identical.

I used to like this but the bottle broke. Great in hs. To me it was a good mix if soapy but not too soapy. With enough spice to make it more interesting than a barbershop. Very blue

it smells like GB Grey Flannel + a lot of water and a little bit of sugar ... after the dry down I noticed that it's identical to Azzaro Chrome !

1/10 awful scent, highly recommend you steer clear of this one, synthetic chemical smell. Go for the gold, Cuba Gold much better.

Inexpensive Carolina Herrera 212 Men look alike. Good enough for what it costs.
