Fetish

I purchased this perfume from Dollar Tree 8 years ago. I purchased about 10 bucks worth and gave some away. A couple of years ago my mother gave one back to me and immediately I put it on. It smells like heaven on me still!!! I have a spittle left and I usually spritz it on in the summer on those hit sun dress nights. It's 2015 and this scent I purchased in the summer of 2006 is still detectable. I understand why it was called fetish and I'm always asked what do I have on when I wear it. However, after is gone, I won't be purchasing it from anywhere else. Not after I was able to wear it for a dollar and smell Mmm Mmm good!!

I bought this at Walmart when it first came out and I have loved it ever since. I was lucky to track down 4 full bottles on Ebay for $7 a piece! This scent is such a pick me up and makes me feel so happy anytime I sniff it <3

oh how I loved this back then in my teenage time, when starting to use perfumes. I loved the bottle and the smell, so youthfull and timeless. I still Keep the bottle with a tiny rest to bring back memories..

I was the exact target age for this perfume when it was new, and I don't remember this being controversial AT ALL. I think "fetish" was understood to mean "obsession" and not anything sexual. As far as shaking your head "no," the implication was that guys would be chasing after you asking for dates or asking for your number in such droves that they'd be lucky to catch a whiff of you as your hair flipped away. They could've worded that better, but no one was losing their minds over this ad campaign back then, as the modern takeaway might suggest. The scent is your typical citrus-floral done in a sunny fruit salad style--grassy, with a dose of calone and a good hit of freesia. Nothing amazing, but for those of us that remember the debut of this scent, it's a fun trip back in time. I have a cute star-shaped bottle and the blue and green purse spray. Buy this for the nostalgia!

So this is Fetish! I gotta say I'm surprised. First of all, this smells so familiar. I feel like a friend of mine must have worn it growing up, but that's impossible. Our parents would've had a conniption at the name. But despite that, the advertising, and the drippy little test tube bottle, Fetish doesn't come across as sexual, subversive, or really all that exciting. There's definitely a bit of an Easter Sunday vibe. Springtime Bath and Body Works release. Brunch with your Aunt Sue. Fetish is light. Breezy. A little laundry detergent-y. The florals aren't great. Not terrible, but definitely artificial and a bit thick, like a cheap oil diffuser. I keep wishing for a stronger fruit note, maybe more amber. Still overall, I like it. There's a coolness to it that's refreshing, clean; a good after-shower scent.

Soapy, clean, very very aromatic, due to fruit basket, shocked by how long it lasts, on my opinion its made for hot days, for holiday dresses, where Fetish can reveal itself together with open shoulders. Its completely different on the skin than from the bottle, dont understand the lack of reviews at this time of the year as considering it a very pleasant unusual aquatic with fresh floral notes.

I have the one with the green cap and I totally just bought this wayyyyyyyy back when because of the name. The scent is OK, very teeny, but I probably wouldn't go out of my way to replace this if I ever get through the bottle.

I'm working through my teenage fragrances. This was my second fragrance and the first I chose myself. I remember the tabooness of the advertising, the amount of convincing I had to do to get my parents to purchse a fragrance called "Fetish" for me. I don't know any adults that wore this fragrance, it seemed firmly relegated to the annals of 90s teen girls, the ads buried in a Seventeen magazine after the fashion (What to Wear to Look Your Best at the Locker!) but before the 'Trauma Rama' stories. It seems like such a niche category now, since I know teenagers that wear Chanel or Dior and adults that wear Bath and Body Works Body Splash or teen pop idol branded perfumes, like Ariana Grande's. This isn't something I'd ever wear now, but I love the idea of having a fragrance history.

I bought a miniature of this perfume with a green cap. Maybe it was old or went bad, but all I could smell was a cheap scent. It is an unusual aquatic, but it didn't work for me.

@Sailor Pluto: This is what I found after a quick trip to Google: "-- in this ad, an adolescent woman wearing an orange bikini top and heavy, pink eye make-up has a vial of “Fetish” hanging from the center of her bikini top, and text written across her chest reads “Fetish #16: Apply generously to your neck so he can smell the scent as you shake your head ‘no.'”" To call the slogan "horrifying" is an understatement.

I ordered two samples of this from eBay just out of curiosity sakes Initial spritz, paint stripper, harsh, aldehydes, very unpleasant. I did wonder if I had a sample which had turned but after about 20 minutes it did actually soften into something which was creamy, sweet and floral but fairly weak. This is more of a skin scent, it's pleasant enough but not interesting or meaty enough for me.

I was given Fetish as an 18th birthday present back 2000. It appears to be a different version and I'm not sure the notes are the same or different. My version has an orange top rather yellow. I've kept just that little bit and it still smells nicely pleasant after all these years, a musky floral that always reminds me of going clubbing with my friends.

Just a little review to share that FETISH by Dana smells nearly identical to Ralph Lauren POLO SPORT WOMAN (also released in 1997!). It also smells very similar to Issey Miyake L'EAU DISSEY. They all share in common that very similar marine oyster-like CALONE accord, which sadly I am unable to tolerate as it makes me feel queasy.

I'll admit I bought this for the bottle/packaging, but I was pleasantly surprised by the scent itself. Soft floral aquatic cologne without discernible notes. Maybe if you focus very hard you could get pineapple and peach in the opening, and musk in the base. Very 90s: frosty, powdery, nostalgic.

I wish I could travel back in time, so that I could bring back a bottle of this, since the design is such a great piece of kitschy art. My only comfort is that I did save a magazine ad for this. I ought to frame it. lol

Smells like shock bubble gums with lemon flavour. One of my first real perfumes.
