Aurora Borealis

Beautiful green, floral, and citrusy fragrance. Reminiscent of "Roja, Oceania", but less sparkling and more floral. I also feel like Oceania is a more "watery" green citrus (without a watery note. Just a watery feel), while Aurora Borealis is more of an "airy" feel (without an airy or ozonic note). It's clean, soft, and light. There are few people who would dislike this. It's not complex and challenging. But, sometimes that's not what I want in my fragrances either. Sometimes, I just want to smell great. That's what this is for, in my opinion. Personal score: 8.5/10. This is simply a beautiful fragrance. I love it.

I’m a Light Blue fresh aquatics girl. She’s D&G Light Blue’s older witchy sister..Dark Green if you will (specifically emerald specifically blue-green, like the aurora borealis). There also a yellow quality to it, like yellow stars and little yellow blossoms. If you stripped the clean girl aesthetic away from LB and replaced it with Scandinavian-bohemian ideals, this would be her. Instead of the fresh linear grapefruit, you have very non-sweet slightly powdery dry lemon and verbena opening. Her witchy qualities shift the expected fresh citrus by complicating and darkening it (almost slightly warming)via resinous Elemi, and balsamic cypress. The jasmine and white flowers give a slight playdoughy or latex tuber quality, perhaps it’s white honeysuckle and tuber rose. I get the same note in LDBS which is what makes me not want anymore than my sample vial even though it does intrigue me. It’s fresh new powder-snow and Forest air at night feeling, sitting next to blooming lemon trees and verbena bushes, beneath a clear bright sky. Dark Tales is a brilliant frag house. They are the only house I would trust to make this bohemian emerald green older witchy sister version of D&G LB for goth girls. For me they continuously paint vivid scent stories in each creation which I admire so much regardless of whether it’s my type of fragrance. Now if only they would start shipping to the US again😭 I NEED obsidian apple!!!

I tried this as part of the 16 sample set. I was expecting something citrus-y but my first thought was “this smells like a Lush bath bomb”, and is very reminiscent of the smell of Lush stores, but softer. Violet is not listed as an ingredient but it smells *very* powdery with a strong violet note. I dabbed some on my wrists and neck around 6pm and it didn’t change much initially but by 9pm a slightly sharper lemon note appeared. It doesn’t project much and there was no fragrance at all left 12hrs after applying. My husband said it reminded him of his grandma’s talcum powder.

Soft lemonscent with something green in the background. Very pleasant but lackning character. Kind of smells a bit similar to my lemon cleaning wipes...a bit higher quality but still. Very bad longevity, reapplied it and still could only smell it about 2hrs. Had a dabber bottle, maybe it lasts longer on clothes. 3/10.
