This is without a doubt my favorite incense fragrance I've tried. Rather than incense being a note buried under other things (as some other "incense" perfumes I've smelled) this is smoky nag champa, smells like an incense stick. Might smell like a hippie to some, but I find it quite refined. Darren uses a lot of naturals, so this is a plus to my eyes. If you like incense, this is a must try!

I can't even put into words how happy this makes me feel when I wear. Just pure comfort. Remind me 100% of Satya Nag Champa, which I burn frequently. I'm truly at such peace when I wear this and wish everyone could experience such serenity. My skin pulls a powdery incensey floral, and not necessarily smoke, but it is pulling the true essence of Nag Champa incense.

While yes this is 100% an exact replica of Satya’s legendary incense it doesn’t quite capture the aroma of the stick being burned or the afterglow of a room where the smoke has dissipated and the warm ambery aura is all that remains. Instead Sacred Smoke captures the smell of the room or rather the shelves and boxes that contain Nag Champa unlit which could be considered the mythical “head shop aroma” that users so often chase. With that being said this is gorgeous. I often find myself layering this either with pure Oud oil or other base heavy artisan offerings to complete the full incense experience. Incense Rori from Amouage offers a more rich, warm incense experience that provides the heavy base notes of a room that just finished a nice nag champa session while Sultan Pasha’s Nankun Kodo brings about the temple experience where it feels like you’re inside an ancient spiritual gathering with the spicy woody warmth of smoldering resins and Buddhist prayer. I hope one day Darren offers a more complete incense experience in a perfume bottle. This is still the closest anyone has gotten to capturing the magic of Nag Champa in a perfume and that elevates this truly to a grail for incense lovers everywhere.

Okay, yes, on paper it totally does smell EXACTLY like un-burnt Nag Champa incense. But my skin amps the powdery aspects and turns it to a sort of clogged vintage dressing table talc, which I don’t love. LOVE the Champa, but powdery isn’t my thing at all. Huge love for that opener, scrubber at the end. Powdery for those who love that.
