Woody-Aromatic VETIVER with Citrus & Amber. In the first couple of minutes, there's some masculine fresh-ozonic tones. As the sillage starts to open up, I get the citrus, green & aromatic accords with lime, juniper(gin)-alcohol notes punctuated by a faintly sour galbanum note. As it transitions to the heart I can feel the cedar-amber swelling through, and a minty fresh-spiciness on a woody-citrus accord with cypress & nutmeg. Some sweetness accrues, but multi-faceted vetiver is the star of the show here in the base with it's grassy, fruity & woody facets. For me this is overall a vetiver scent, and smells similar to vetiver essential oil, with the other notes serving to support & enhance different facets of vetiver. I'm not always a fan of vetiver, especially if they lean too much to dead grass, but this is one of the nicest and easy to wear vetiver scents that I've smelt. Contrast to Adventure Davidoff: These are different, but there are striking similarities with vetiver. Adventure is more complex, and has a slightly more bitter opening and some of the more challenging facets of vetiver. Classic is easier to wear. Roughly equivalent performance. Overall: affordable, easy-to-wear vetiver scent with average or slightly above average performance. Enjoy!

Beckham Classic is not a bad scent for the price. BC has an Amber, Woodsy smell to it. Almost reminds me of Chanel Allure Homme Sport. It's a safe, if synthetic scent. Performance is fairly weak. I only get a few hours out of it. Projection is decent though. I did notice this performs very well in the high heat and projection was huge. This one does receive some compliments. It's also very inexpensive. 7.5 of 10.

I recently finished off a small sample bottle of this and have to say it is a very different scent to any previous by the 'Beckham' range. This is a very aromatic fragrance which for me sold it. Would definitely be very good as a daily wear scent. I will probably be buying a full bottle soon or when the price decreases to something much less than it is now as the 'Beckham' fragrances usually do. :)

Another good scent from Mr Beckham. Smooth, smart and sophisticated. Definitely for the 30-something man. A 'suited-and-booted' type fragrance. All the DVB fragrances that I have tried are in the upper "like" category but DVB Classic.....I love it. Far higher quality scent than it's price point (e.g. £17 for 90ml at Superdrug right now). Suitable for wear any time. Very nice indeed.

Well this has been a pleasant surprise. I recently received another big box of mixed samples, this being one. It was probably the only scent in the box that didn't appeal to me. Everything about it just seemed cheap and so I was expecting a harsh, synthetic, standard mens cologne. Not at all. First spray gives a lovely warming woody amber smell - not the gin and lime mentioned in the notes. If you sniff really hard you may just pick out a soft fleeting whiff of lime, but this certainly isn't citrusy fresh. The drydown stays pretty much the same; nutmeg, cypress, possibly, but like the lime only fleeting. I had to look up Texas Cedar as I could certainly pick out the woody accord, but didn't think it was like a regular cedar smell. Sure enough Texas Cedar is classed as having a sweet, soft, balsamic wood scent and it belongs to the juniper family. This mixed with the amber gives the distinctive warmness. My good lady wasn't quite as enamored as me, describing it as smelling like 'a regular Lynx deodorant or shower gel'. Yes well, nothing wrong with a lot of the Lynx sprays in my opinion! Anyway, I like it. I do appreciate that longevity isn't the best (I get just over 3 hours with 3 sprays to the neck) and sillage is only moderate, but this is a very low priced EDT. David Beckham Classic - don't believe the negativity, it's well worth a try.

It's a nice scent, Fresh, Clean and Elegant. It opens up with like fresh citrusy slightly spicy and green notes in the background then dry down is Ambery woody. This perfume reminds me of Trussardi Riflesso that It was launched in 2017 but David Beckham Classic was launched in 2013 and Trussardi Riflesso is after it. This is suitable for the spring, summer and fall. I really enjoy it and I like Classic David Beckham EDT for Men. Longevity is average. Rating : 7 / 10

This is the first DB fragrance I've ever tried. I had a certain reluctance and skepticism about 'celebrity' fragrances if you like. Nothing against Beckham, In fact as a die hard Manchester United fan I've nothing but respect for the guy. Anyway...This fragrance is not bad at all. Aromatic, manly, and pretty old skool frankly! I won't be getting it but it's not bad at all and has encouraged me to try the other fragrances in the line.

What a great, distinct fragrance. I wouldn't put it on my boyfriend as it is more of a 35+ hot dad scent. I think it is very well rounded and definitely not boring. I only spritzed one wrist and it was very strong for the next hour until I showered. I get a powdered ginger smell from this, not a refreshing lime cocktail.

I received this David Beckham Classic as a Secret Santa gift, it's a nice scent and quite manly but nothing super amazing. I like to wear it when I'm just lingering around the house or when I jump into bed. Sillage and longevity is ok but again nothing to get excited over, great because of the attractive price point.

To me this smells like a slight redo of Instinct but it's a bit more fresh and subtle in the opening. I get pretty good longevity with this but it stays very close. You can smell it in your clothes later on in the day but it's subtle. It's a good daytime fragrance that you can spray a ton of!

I don't know. It's pretty wearable for a TJMaxx cheapo. It is actually very much like a watered down and more synthetic Michael Kors Men which I like a great deal. Woody, spicy and a bit warm. I'll keep it.

a simple, yet pleasant freshy for any day to day activity. The major con is its durability and projection, which is minimal to none. It becomes a skin scent very quickly after applying.

Great value for the price since it was only $10, the scent was very pleasant but didn’t last for more than 4hrs. I would rebuy it if it had better performance.

To my nose this smells exactly like Burberry Men. Gives me the same woody vibe. Nice fragrance, classy but not so long-lasting from what I've experienced.

Nice fresh and clean masculine scent. Hard to pick notes overall it smells fresh spicy. Performance is very weak. Overall not bad for the money.

Although it’s a bit mature for me, I think this is his best scent still (I especially like the deodorant which has leathery notes)

Smells pretty good but a bit weak and generic cologne smell. Reminds me of CK Eternity, but a bit more citrusy in the opening.

Woodsy, minty, & clean. It has a soft and slightly grainy texture. It smells natural, like a springtime breeze.

Nice-very pleasant smell-can't believe it's so cheap-a steal at $15! It's scent is addictive!

Can't smell anything. I sprayed literally over 20 times, mostly on the front of my shirt, and 3 hours later there is nothing. I mean the scent is pretty nice in the opening for the briefest time. I have to super mega spray for all Beckham frags, but this one is particularly bad and doesn't produce satisfactory performance no matter how many sprays. The best David Beckham frag I have is the first, Instinct, and I can produce a satisfactory performance with 20+ sprays with that one. Next is Beyond which has a good opening but mediocre drydown, although the performance with mega spraying is better than this one. Homme is OK too. If a frag cant give me my kind of longevity, i.e. periodic natural wafting of scent to my nose over several hours, without going searching for it, despite 20 or 30 sprays to the front of my shirt, then it's not worth buying even at $16 USD.

Picked up from a discounter (Fall 2022) and finished a 90ml (Spring 2023). Did not know much about fragrance in general back then, but this EDT would perform better in warmer months since it gives a fresh, underlined with woody scent. Do not buy for retail. Great bottle design for its value. Performance is weak sub-30 min and likely to perform better in warmer temperatures. Close sillage. Couldn't pinpoint the gin in the opening but definitely could smell something fresh and alcoholic. Develops into cedar drydown very quickly. BATCH CODE: 2171

I like this scent a lot when it’s fresh on the strip. It’s bright, fresh and snappy, reminds me a lot of Calvin Klein eternity early on. There is a sweet mint note buried in the green fruity top but there’s also a bit of a hot aldehyde top which burns the nostrils. I think that’s supposed to be the boozy note but I’m not crazy about it. The dry down is pleasant, the woodiness is subtle, comes off like pencil shavings a bit but in a nice way. Overall a like but as others stated could be a bit stronger with good projection and longevity.

I have DB respect and classic and both are okay smelling. If David Beckham fragrances were chocolate, then his fragrances is equal to a meh quality off-brand chocolate. It doesn't taste bad but it doesn't taste good either. It's taste like fake chocolate and pumped with sugar or in this case, synthetic smelling. Although I will buy DB Respect (Deo Spray version) again as a gym scent. I kinda like it ngl,lmao.

The david beckham classic is not a fragrance i would use everyday, its more of a fragrance you get when you first get into fragrances, but when I smell it I can really smell the lime and amber smell, nothing else thats why I think the price is just right you get what you pay for but the bottle is amazing to me. smell: 5/10 Longevity: 4/10 Sillage: 2/10 Bottle: 8/10 Value for money: 5/10

A very weak fragrance. You have to take shower with it to smell it. This is diluted too much and it's cheap for that reason. But the structure of the scent is actually not bad. It's very Woody, Boozy, with a hint of fruity chords. I wish it was a little bit more concentrated.

Considering you can buy a 3 oz. bottle of this at T.J. Maxx for $16+tax it's a good deal but it just has low sillage and longevity so it doesn't project that strong and doesn't last long.

I don't know why it's listed as woody, because there is NO wood smell in here. The mint is nice. Projection however is lacking, as expected of the price however.

Most of the Beckham fragrances are just marketing campaigns, not a serious fragrance for wearing out. 3/10

It's a no for me. Hard to believe this was designed by a well-regarded perfumer. It would be okay generally if it just had the notes fragrantica listed and nothing else but apart from the cedar, vetiver, amber and the minty freshness theres something else my nose is picking up that I don't like at all and I would even classify as stinky. Smells like a grandpa fragrance to me on the drydown. Being that this not super interesting scent profile and grandpa-like smell on the drydown is paired with weak performance, this fragrance is not one that I would rate highly. Nowadays the fragrance market is a lot different and I'd even say for this price of for just a tiny bit more you can get something much better. I really tried to like this one cause it was a gift but eehhh..

You really get what you pay for here. An uninspired, weak throwaway fragrance. I really would avoid this. Don't waste your money on it when there's so much better you can get even at this price. Hell, there's probably car fragrances that perform and smell better. This fragrance is something a taxi driver would wear, just a throwaway scent to mass spray daily and ignore. And trust me, mass spray you must to keep this scent around. Beckham fragrances, in my opinion, should be a miss. This really isn't good by any measure.

Very distinct smell and not a good smell, quite frankly bad. The smell gave me a migraine i had to go and take a shower to clear my head. Maybe it's just not for me. I can't really fit the scent into a genre or the already made categories on fragrantica, it dosen't feel like summer, winter, spring and/or fall. It's a very different stinging smell, just not for me, im more into mild rich vanilla/coconut colognes. Like David Beckham tho, but he can def do better than this, the design is also overall basic.

I bought This fragrance for a friend a few weeks ago and he gave me a 3ml sample of it to keep. It smells pretty similar to classic blue except this one is heavy on the cedar and super minty. The longevity is fine, I get about 3 hours, but the projection, however, is horrible. You will have to dig into my neck to actually smell this. Obviously, you get what you pay for, but the bottle isn't bad at all. Smell: 4/10 Longevity: 5/10 Projection: 2/10 Bottle: 8/10 Price Value: 8/10

I like this guy, like him very much. But his fragrances, SUCK!!! No way on Earth is this anything other then a cheap fragrance i'd expect to find in Asda or Tesco, next to the usual array of cheap toiletries. Nothing more then a money making exercise by Coty, stick a celebrity name on a bottle of muck and market it. All trace had gone of my skin after literally 40 minutes. Please save your £15 or whatever it costs and put it towards something proper!!

I've tried many of the Beckham fragrances as they are good value and ideal for everyday wear. Saying that CLASSIC is the poorest of them all. If you want to wear a Beckham fragrance for everyday wear choose INSTINCT. CLASSIC doesn't have an offensive scent but only lasts around 1 hour on my skin and has a very soft sillage. There are many fragrances out there within this price range which are better.

My first personal cologne it’s a very nice scent but it always disappears after awhile, I could apply the fragrance at 8 am and it would be gone before lunch which was at 12 pm and it never has a large spillage only time i could smell it was when their nose was almost touching the skin where i sprayed the cologne

i got a tester of this, and, for me, it's headache inducing. lucky it lasts no longer then 30-45 minutes on me. smells like Lynx (axe)

I agree that there is quite a bit in common with Michael for Men by Kors (original), but this is smoother, simpler, and lighter. So, this might work well for me because the Kors has a musk note that I often find irritating, though it dissipates after an hour or so. I grabbed a bottle of this one because it was in the "bargain bin," but I think it's definitely a major step up from there, Now if you find the Kors scent to be too weak, as more than a couple of people have, then I doubt you'd be interested in this one. Perhaps this is good for an aficionado on a day when he wants to "tone it down," and I'd say it is fairly safe to give as a gift, unless the person only likes "fresh" type scents. I wish "celebuscents" would be more daring, as is the case for Phoenix by Keith Urban, but at least this one isn't totally generic or a "chemical mess."

i smell this into a shop.I like it from the verry first smell.I decide to buy it because it`s cheap,but i knew it...all will gonna be weak :( ...if this fragrance had a better,a much better sillage, and longevity,trust me this will gonna be a king ! and don`t care about the price...but see...the celebrity fragrance...they don`t care about the frag`...they do the photo,take the money and that`s all...too bad man. anyway: the frag start with a powerfull fresh and sweet lime,nutmeg but after 25-30 min,it`s just only on the skin. If i buy this again ? don`t know...i just fell in love with this !!! but like i said...longv` and sillag` WEAK !!! it`s like a beautiful woman, but a stupid one ! longevity : 1,5/5 sillage:1/5 scent: 5/5 re-edit: don't buy it,trust me,the scent is10/10 but the rest 0.

Tried this one today. I don't normally go for the Beckham scents but this one is very nice - for the first couple of hours. It's kind of a traditional mix of oud, musk, woody notes and alcohol. If you're looking for reference point, it's like a cheaper, less complex version of Givenchy Gentlemen - the new blue one. Unfortunately, as it fades it begins to smell very much like rest room hand wash! It doesn't so much fade away as it does disintegrate. I will wait a couple of months and maybe buy this one. The prices on Beckham''s scents drop pretty dramatically soon after release.

I didnt like it at first, but then my nose start to adapt and i can appreciate the scent, it was a gift from my brother, i use it on daily basis, mostly for office use and casual event. I love the dry down and the amber scent on the base note. I think its nice I got 3-6h on my skin, good performance on tropical climate like Indonesia. Silage is so-so.

Deospray Not my favourite out of the seven deosprays (for men), from Beckham, that I've tried - but still good. It's spicy and the amber note fits perfectly as a base that also seem to come through in the opening. There's a great balance between every component and I can understand how some would love it :)

This fragrance is little similiar with ZD adventure.. open with fressnes,than spices and in drydown woody note's.. is quite complex for a Beckam fragrance.. and maybe is the best scen't from him.. longevity is actually good.. 5-6h..simple but lovely botlle..

I bought the deo spray. The scent is nice but weak. After few minutes I could not smell it. On the air/paper it reminded me a bit of STR8 red code, similar but not the same. In the end I used it as an air spray - lasted 3-4 days

so I wanted to try David Beckham fragrances, and I started by buying this one, it's just an okay scent with poor performance. it barely lasts an hour after applying, so don't waste your money on this even though it's cheap

A thoughtful version of Davidoff Adventure, a combination of citruses, spices and amber. David Beckham Classic is less spicy and "sharp" than Adventure, that's why it is more wearable and enjoyable.

I actually really like this scent. Its smells great...however after an hour it's gone...so it's a bit pointless. Sort out the duration issue and it would be great. Very spicy gingery tones.

Just a chemical mess. Nothing classic about it what I can smell. It doesn ́t even smell good IMO, let alone the short time it lasts, or maybe that ́s a good thing.
