Hibiscus

Got this as a feee perfume oil with my recent purchase and it is surprisingly gorgeous! I love how simple, yet slightly layered in its sweetness it is- the floral nature isn’t overly pronounced, but it is definitely there. It has a little bit of a “tropical” scent without smelling like sunscreen too which is great haha, it’s almost fruity while still being very floral and sweet. I can’t wait to use this to add a layer of lovely, vibrant freshness :)

I really like it as a simple, delicate floral. It's not super interesting on its own, but I like to layer it with a bunch of different things to add a little bit of brightness.

Got a rollerball as a free gift this month. Like oubliette I've truly never smelled a hibiscus flower, but this is not tart like it tastes. It smells exactly like a simple floral soap. Will not be wearing.

To be honest, I'm not sure what actual hibiscus smells like. But this is an unpleasant floral to my nose, with an artifical suffocating quality to it.

Recently received this rollerball as a gift with purchase after buying other bottles from Demeter's online store. Love the brand. I've repurchased perfume from Demeter and enjoy the fragrance house as the Made in the USA, niche brand that they are. I do enjoy wearing their single-note inspired fragrances alone. But I also really love layering them with other Demeter fragrances, or with fragrances from other brands. Like the three other reviews written before mine here, I'm not sure I've ever smelled hibiscus before. To my nose this smells like the floral version of a tart candy. This is my first time wearing it around the house. I like it well enough. I see myself using it to sweeten other non-sweet fragrances I have, because I'm SO BORED of the vanilla dominant fragrances that are practically the only thing available these days from most other brands. 🦋🧡🦋
