Dispelled

I first tried this one in summer, and it was nice, but it's in cold weather when it gains the most character and is the essence of coziness. Picture this. You're sitting in your favorite chair, wrapped in a warm blanket that's been stored with a sachet of lavender and other herbs. And you're drinking Earl Grey tea while reading an old book that smells like warm vanilla. I would say that this fragrance has the most realistic Earl Grey tea note of any I've tried, with the tea and bergamot coming through very well. The lavender is realistic, but you can catch another herb note which I'm sure must be the St. John's wart. The vanilla is soft, warm, and cozy, and really starts to bloom in the drydown. However, I didn't really detect the magnolia. For me, this lasted maybe six hours. I think it's a good bet for an office-safe scent, too. It's one that I really want to add to my collection beyond the sample I have, but it's very often out of stock because it really is that good.

Oooooh, Dispelled is such a cozy, unique lavender scent! It has a very Earl Grey tea-like opening, and then develops into something a touch sweeter and more herbal- I almost get chamomile and imortelle. I'm guessing that's the St John's Wort note- I have no idea what that smells like but I'm assuming that's where the aromatic green component comes from. The vanilla really rounds this out in the drydown, making it a great bedtime scent.

I'm not one to typically like bakery or overly sugary smells, this one is soft and yet so undeniably sweet. It has a bit of that early grey at the start, but it dries into primarily vanilla and lavender. The other floral notes are just subtle enough to set it apart, making it unique but not obtrusive. I'd wear this everywhere.

A spell with lavender with something reminding me of pollen, here's where it takes me : You're walking in a humid forest after a storm with clouds still above and the scent of wild lavender soaked in water. You venture further into this forest and end up in a clearing that looks like like a bunch of fairies live in it, pollen flying around you like little stars and after squinting a bit, you notice the smallest house inside a pot, a tiny cup of tea fuming. You sit in the soft moss, choosing to become part of the scene, refusing to disturb the natural flow. Thank you for reading this ! Hopefully this can help you understand how this fragrance feels :)

The opening has an exquisite candied lime note that makes my toes curl, oh my goodness. I wish I could hold onto it, but unfortunately it only lasts a few minutes. Dispelled is still a beautiful perfume but that opening is a 12/10 experience! The lavender is prominent but somehow manages to avoid being sharp (I'm a lavender enthusiast but I can admit it's one of those notes that can easily dominate a perfume). It leans slightly medicinal rather than being sweet/flowery, and does a great job of cutting through the sweetness to give it a more unisex edge. After 10 minutes or so it becomes identifiably tea-like; while the opening is intense the dry down is a lot softer, fresher, and perfect for hot weather. The major downside is that over time it becomes honey-like, a note I absolutely despise :( One of a handful of notes that make me feel physically sick unfortunately! At least I can laugh at how this turned from a euphoric to a nauseating experience though. My god I would pay £££ for a perfume that could distil that opening experience!!!

I received this in a giveaway from the perfumer on Tiktok in a sample set that contained Eclipsed and and Charmed as well. It's my favourite in terms of its unique but herbal character. I smell less lavender overall than in Eclipsed, which has a purple feel, but there is something extremely calming about this scent that I love - most likely from the St. John's wort which has anxiety-relieving properties. Overall this house is really lovely in terms of using all-natural tinctures and unique ingredients.

This reads very different on paper and skin. Paper gives you a softer, well blended, rounder version of Lavender Extreme. On skin, the bergamot takes center stage and has more zing similar to Light Blue. A safe buy I would say from a house that truly likes to flex some creative muscle. Great for spring/summer and uplifting on a grey day.
