D Red Le Parfum

Got it as a free sample. This is super safe, very standard man scent. But it will probably do very good, it's leathery but in a very synthetic and appealing way, strong grapefruit burst, maybe it's synesthesia but it does have a little blood orange feel, not getting a huge amount of saffron. Seems to have pretty good performance, definitely above average from what you expect from Diesel. Safe gift for your dad or brother. It's decent! Would not mind a bottle of this. It reminds me a lot of Hugo Boss The Scent EDT, but stronger.

Musky, fresh, dry, leather-y but not in a realistic way, more of a general vague bitter note. I don't smell any saffron here. It gives off a strong drug store fragrance aroma, especially around the opening which is fairly harsh. The first 20-30 minutes really remind me of fragrances from brands like David Beckham. As it develops it smooths out a bit and becomes better to my nose, more reminiscent of something in the direction of Valentino Born In Roma. But it still doesn't smell great or even good really. I think this tried to go in a similar direction as Boss Bottled Beyond or even Y Elixir but mostly failed. Y Elixir is better and actually smells high-ish quality, even though it can still be too musky for me. Boss Bottled Beyond has much better drydown than Diesel and also lasts longer. Performace on this is fairly weak, it only really projects during the opening which I also find is the when it smells the harshest. Then it's a skin scent for maybe 3 hours. Overall I can not recommend this fragrance. It smells generic, kind of cheap and doesn't last long. I see this fragrance selling for around 100 bucks online. I'm sure it will go down in price once it is not the newest Diesel realease but I would advise against buying it even at 30 bucks. Get pretty much anything else even if you buy a Zara fragrance or an arab clone. Or just buy a random actual drug store fragrance for 10 bucks and save your money. Just don't waste it on this Diesel release. PS: There is no similarity between this and Dior Fahrenheit Parfum. Diesel has no traces of violet or vanilla both of which are very prominent in the Dior. Also very little similarity to Boss The Scent, that one has a more chocolate-like scent from the maninka fruit note. Both are better than this Diesel release.

Hmm, the accords sound interesting & intriguing🤔 Hopefully it will be a good release.

Hope its really heavy on saffron.
