This one continues to surprise me. I ordered a bottle. When it arrived, I removed the cap and took a whiff. Immediately, I got the anise, and nothing more. I sprayed a bit on a friend who volunteered to be a perfume model for me. Again, after almost an hour, all either one of us could perceive was the anise. There were no sweet notes at all. I sprayed some on my arm. Again, anise alone. Fast forward to two days later. I thought I was noticing something nicer, something a bit sweet. The anise was still there, but it was now tempered with a note that was much more pleasant. I suppose that could be the lavender and/or the raspberry. At any rate, it was a fresh fruit aroma, something akin to raspberry or some other ripe fruit. I am now much more pleased with Fuel for Life. Also, I have come to realize that when you open a new (or stored) bottle of a fragrance, you need to "prime" the bottle, so to speak. Spray it into the air two or three times to awaken the scent. I think some of the liquid that's in the spray mechanism might get a little stale and needs expelling. This happened to me once when I bought an old, used bottle of Narciso Rodriguez. It smelled nasty with the first spray. Once the sprayer liquid was all expelled, it had a much nicer fragrance. That's what is happening with FFL. Now when I remove the cap and take a whiff, it's a lot nicer and sweeter than the first time I opened the box. It could also be that the nose just takes time to fully perceive a fragrance, and it may be the more you're around it, the more notes you can pick up. I really like this juice. And it takes only one or two sprays (at the most). It lasts HOURS, and projects well. Unique scent. One-of-a-kind for sure. Thumbs up!

I bought my first bottle in 2007 when it first came out and I brought mine with me on a vacation to the Philippines, a tropical country with humid weather and stunning beaches. I got compliments from relatives because it does smell great and works with hot weather unlike other sweet fragrances. The sweetness is well balanced with tartness from the grapefruit. It’s not like 1 million or JPG Le Male sweet. I gave my bottle to my cousin before going back to the US and fast forward to 2021 and I decided that I want another bottle to remind of my trip, because we all know that fragrances are like time machines. It’s not dated (I actually hate using this term, because I am 39 yrs old now and I still wear this. Wear whatever makes you feel good). I still love how it smells and my only complaint is the longevity. Whereas the old one I had would last me 8 hours, the new one would last me 6 hrs. I could always re apply since I always bring a decant with whatever I am wearing so not a big deal. I would still suggest this if you want something unique from all the blue (Sauvage, BDC, etc.) fragrances which has flooded the market in the past years. If you want to smell different then this is an option. I would rate my old bottle 8.5/10 I would rate my new bottle 7.5/10

Some reviewers says it’s trash, but I don’t care because I often get compliments from girls with this over some of my over hyped niche fragrances. Guys, you have to remember that girls like sweet colognes, most of the time they will always pick sweet over citrusy or manly colognes and this one is a rapsberry sweet cologne. I guarantee you that you’ll be unique because everyone wears the same hyped up fragrances from Youtubers. While everyone smells like a vanilla syrup, cinnamon or an ambroxan bomb in the club, you’ll be the only one smelling unique with a sweet and tart raspberry vibe. Don’t let the negative reviews that probably only tried it once and decide it is trash affect your decision. Listen to the people the owns this and the female reviewers that loves this. Don’t trust my comment, rather look at the women’s reviews down below. One more thing, this also projects and can compete with Eros, One Million or Utra Male. Be careful on how many sprays. This is a clubbing or casino scent that can pierce through the cigarette smoke.

I got a bottle from 2020, it actually lasts a whole day of wearing for me. I used to love this so much when I was younger, some people say the same, but unfortunately they didn't like it when revisiting it in their adult life. My experience is different, it immediately reminded me of when I was in my teenage years, and I dont really feel the smell has changed a lot, in case it has it ain't much, and I've been emptying 3 - 4 big bottles of this back then. I think maybe the performance is a bit weaker, but I also know that I'm getting older, and I might not be as sensitive as when I was 16 years old, I'm 28 now. I wish that this DNA would be played more with, I really still like it a lot today I just think its a little bit too childish for me to be wearing. The smell is indeed unique, and nothing I have smelled smells similar, and I smelled many fragrances. If its cheap, I would highly suggest you to get a bottle just for the sake of the collection, if they decide to discontinue it, this DNA will forever be gone.

At first this is very strong and citrusy, I like citrus in an opening and to me this was similar to most colognes that open with citrus. As it dries down it gets a little more on the sweeter side to me I can smell raspberry I’m getting some pink pepper and Some anise, but the raspberry is more predominant. The anise could be tricking my nose to think it’s pink pepper. I think you could wear this almost anytime anyplace. I don’t think it would be offensive in an office environment and it would work for an evening out on a date with your wife or girlfriend. I would say do not blind buy this, you need to make sure you like it. If you’re in a store I would spray it on the back of your hand and not on paper and give it about 20 minutes. Then you will smell what the opening mid and how it settles. For me I like it it last a decent amount of time 6 to 8 hours and the scent bubble is not too bad maybe an arms length.

This thing is still an absolute beast, with one spray being almost too much. What you see is what you get here as the note pyramid is quite accurate. It's a fruity and modern take on the classic fougere (like Skin Bracer or Brut, not an aromatic fougere), with fresh grapefruit, powdery lavender, raspberry puree, an enormous dose of barbasol anise, and a sweet woody drydown. It's especially notable for it's use of the frambinone molecule, a musky fruity compound which gives the composition its airy raspberry note. It's my favorite Autumn fragrance by very far and always reminds me of the drastic change in climate as the seasons change. It's also gotten me it's fair share of compliments over the past 10 years and is still unique to this day, which doesn't hurt. Annick Menardo and Jacques Cavallier made some magic here, and I hope it never gets reformulated or discontinued.

Love at first smell. I have two top shelf fragrances and Diesel for Life is one of them. Diesel for Life is attractive to a wide audience. My mom, in her 70s, raved! "What smells so good?" Yup, those words are exact. She's stylish, particular about fashion and knows a thing or two about fragrances. The younger crowd likes it too and seems to be easily recognized by most. Does its signature scent make it common or pedestrian? I'd don't think so. I recommend when you enjoy a fragrance don't worry if it's age appropriate. Wear it. Its sweetness is delicious and wears well. The spiciness is warm and comforting. Longevity and sillage are moderate. Looking for an overly woodsy or powdery scent? This is not the fragrance for you. Period.

I Train a lot and sometimes twice a day because my Job alows me that. So i take mostly sometimes twice a day a shower, and everytime i spray my self with a new perfume. Yesterday i did 20 minutes light weight session and i sprayed only a perfume after that because i didnt sweat so much. I spray Diesel Fuel For Life, it was such a pleasurable scent trail, sweet, fresh, kinda newwave barbershop vibes, and a littlle gasoline vibe. The reason why i write this review about this perfume is what happnend Today morning i took a shower and i smelled the scent again so the scent just awake again doesnt happened to me with much perfumes. so this perfume is really strong and still very manly even if its very sweet. Its all year allrounder.

I have't smelled the reformulation, but if this is anything like it was years ago, it's absolute sex in a bottle. Literally the most attractive fragrance I've ever smelled on men. I would steal little sprays from my friends and shops here and there just to catch whiffs of it. I felt my brain cells dying as I took it in. It's that good. It reminds me of a raspberry tart with hints of spicy vanilla, in fact, I am surprised not to see vanilla here at all! Maybe it's the Heliotrope? It was VERY long lasting with a moderate/large sillage. Absolutely delicious. A head turner & crowd pleaser. Honestly, I find it difficult to resist anyone wearing this.

This is my first review after years of wandering on this site. I'm a 25 yo woman and I want to say, GUYS! Wear this perfume. The first time I smelled this perfume was about 4 years ago on my crush. It smelled OH so heavenly, the smell was so soothing it made me sniff my crush whenever he's around. Weird, ok, but I did! It made me wonder sometimes, is it the smell that made me fall for him? Hmm.. It made me want to jump him and do naughty stuff, and believe me, I'm not originally that kind of girl. I never had this kind of feeling with other fragrances. Diesel Fuel For Life Homme has a gorgeous, beautiful, and intoxicating fragrance. Bravo. 10/10

I recieved this as a gift recently, and I like how it smells. Its not complex amd it doesn't change much between top and base, but it's wearable for most of the day. It smells of heavy raspberries throughout, at least on me. There's a hint of citrus at,the top with some aniseed, and the base has a small hint of wood but it's overtaken by the berries. Although it's a sweet scent but I find it less sweet than versace eros or givenchy pi for example, it's more masculine than both but each has its audience. Longevity is good as well as projection. Verdict: masculine fruity scent that remains linear and projects well.

Diesel is my #1 favorite brand, but I've found most of their fragrances... embarassing. They are typically too young or synthetic smelling. Fuel for Life, however, is wonderful. It's an Anise scent for men, and it's perfectly blended with lavender. The end result is a fresh, masculine, clean licorice scent. I love it- I'm not ashamed to admit it anymore. It's paradoxical: despite it's ubiquitousness, it still feels unique. I can't think of another licorice scent. You can buy gift sets of this stuff on ebay with shower gel for $20. You might as well try it- it projects fantastically.

A fresh/spicy woody fragrance for the modern man! The grapefruit blooms first but this is quickly eclipsed by a very forceful anise note (like in le must de Cartier pour homme) tempered by the subsequent tartness of raspberries. Violet leaf then kicks in -- green/fresh/vegetal/ slightly spicy. Until finally this whole scent structure alights on a bed of doughy and sweet heliotrope and dry woods (cedar?). Can this be unisex? Perhaps. Imho, it's more masculine. As a tongue-in-cheek appeal, the canvas covered whisky-flask looking bottle is very apropos! Clever! And highly recommended!

What can I say. One of my all time favorite scents since it released in 2007. All of the notes blend into each other like a gourmet dessert. It's very soft, fruity sweet, beautiful herbaceous lavender, white floral car wax/surf wax. It's summer at the beach vibes 100%. To me personally the scent hasn't changed over the years, It smells the same as it always has. I buy online from web sites that state "no counterfeit". It projects for a few hours then sits close to the skin for many hours. It sticks to my clothes as well. 10/10 fragrance to me always.

Ngl the opening is a bit harsh/ challenging, I'm normally not a fan of anise in fragrances, or lavender for that matter, but once this dries down a little bit, my god is this fragrance extremely addictive and a bit sensual, the tart raspberry and creamy, waxy almost lipstick like heliotrope mixed with a some of the anise spice and woody notes are just to die for, I think this can be unisex because of the prominent raspberry and heliotrope, but leans just masculine enough, probably due to the lavender.

That was a really surprise to me when I blind bought this one and sprayed for the first time. I was like "wow, it's strong, think I can't stand this one", but I was completely wrong! Cold Days and nights are the perfect situation for trying this one, outdoors. Don't know why, but girls seems to love it, maybe cause it's sweet and make they feel comfortable next to you (cold weather). Just please, don't wear this on spring or summer, cause the result must be catastrophic.

You know those insane cologne commercials where girls literally flock around a guy and throw themselves over him cause he smells so good? Yeah this is like that but in real life, it is actually embarrassing. My boyfriend uses this, and even before we were dating, when we were just friends, this smell was insanely attractive to me. Nice balance of sweet, fresh and spicy notes. Great longevity. Smells even better after an hour or two on the skin, in my opinion.

This fragrance is not very known where I live. First, the opening is very heavy, but few hours after its a great raspberry scent. The projection is heavy and last at least ten hours. this is a cold temperature scent, it is very cloying in hot weather. Huge compliment getter even a random guy (over 40) said that I was smelling good. This is a great clubbing scent if you are under 25! For sure you will get notice as the raspberry guy. 9/10

I remember using this 2011 and 2014... The first time I sprayed it I fell in love with it.The bottle always attracted me but the scent even more. After three years of Abstinence I'm using it again. I still love it. This is a timeless scent... I love the Anise. This is a scent describing me a young and active man. Oh and from experience I can tell you that this is a good after Gym scent. I usually used it for the gym and my law classes.
