Les Creations de Monsieur Dior Diorissimo Eau de Toilette

Lilly of the valley is a very difficult note to pull off well. If it’s too strong or mixed with the wrong notes it can come off like screechy air freshener. If you don’t really like florals than I suggest steering clear of LOTV scents. I happen to love florals and I can find it too pollinated and overwhelming. But, this is Dior and this is lovely. It’s quite green and fresh, like a vase of real Lilly of the valley. My brain is conjuring up a beautiful bride like Grace Kelly marrying the Prince of Monaco in white lace holding her bouquet of LOTV. It’s very ladylike and demure. It’s really a soliflore with the other two note just taming the LOTV into being more realistic. The ylang adding a touch of smoothness and the jasmine giving the tiniest pinch of sweet bubblegum (although this is in no way like bubblegum it’s just lending some softness to the harsh LOTV). The longevity of this is outstanding. In fact it lasts longer than some Edp’s I have. It lasted 8+ hours on me. Ultimately, this is the most beautiful LOTV scent I’ve ever smelled thus far. A white bridal beauty. In my experience lilac and LOTV can smell very much the same especially in the opening. They are heavily pollinated flowers. Heavy hitter’s that smell soapy and clean. They are both employed in so many household candles, cleaning supplies, and cheap diffusers and air fresheners the world over. The difference is LOTV is sweeter and chewy in the finish when it’s done right. All those years laying my grandmother’s yard smelling it gives me that confidence. It’s also the considerable jasmine note lending that sweet substantial finish of this fragrance. Lilac is far more powdery in the texture at the end like the other purple flowers much like iris or heliotrope. Another absolutely gorgeous LOTV I’ve discovered is Fior Fiore. It almost smells fresh sweet LOTV and spearmint gum.

For me, this is the quintessential gold standard by which all other Muguet fragrances should be measured. Granted, I haven't smelled every Lily of the Valley scent on the market, but I've smelled enough to know that Diorissimo is the cream of the crop. A bouquet of spring flowers, including all their green finery, with Muguet stealing the show. I'm really surprised that lilac is not listed in the notes since that is the second most prominent floral in the mix and every bit as beautiful as the LOTV. Unlike the edp and the parfum, the edt is the most indolic and smells the most natural out of all the strengths. The same was true of the vintage edc too. This strength really smells as if you just picked a bouquet of LOTV with a few sprigs of Lilac mixed in. The scent is heady and intoxicating. Now, I have many bottles of Diorissimo, both vintage and modern, and in every strength, and can honestly say that this modern formulation is pretty much true to the original scent, except for the not-so-great performance. But I don't care because most times, I just spray this on to feel good, and it certainly does the trick with that. Though I love wearing this in the spring and summer, it really lifts my spirits in the depths of winter. This sunshine in a bottle is an instant mood lifter and anti-depressant that lifts me out of the winter doldrums better than any pill ever could. It helps me keep perspective that it's only a matter of time before spring arrives. There are very few medicines that can achieve that! Though I have a lot of perfume loves, this will always be one of my top 10 all-time favorite fragrances. That's saying quite a lot considering all the perfumes I now own. It really is a beautiful perfume.

I have moved my review from classic "Diorissimo" to particular this one that i was writing about. It has happened only lately that i learned to truly appreciate this scent and particulary in this version. Maybe it is because earlier formulations weren ́t exactly my taste but more likely becasue you need to catch a perfect moment to begin to like this treasure.... If i could compare it to anything i would compare "Diorissimo" to finest China porcelain. The best quality only. To my nose this is the fragile scent with amazingly high concentration of lilly of the valley with added lilac and jasmine flowers and bergamot. What better to wear on a hottest summer day???!!!! It quenches your thurst and keeps your senses clear when the sun is on it ́s highest high. Great staying power even for EDT. This perfume is not developing, it just stays like it is from beginning till the end and that ́s simply great in this case! Yes it is quite one-sided but this perfection really does not need to develope! I am really glad that i love it now, but also i like that it is not a common scent that a lot of people use so i get questioned a lot what am i wearing... That ́s the best compliment ever! Diorissimo should never be discontinued, sometimes we need that fragility in this rude world! For all those who are tired of those fruity-sticky-floral summer scents: you should really try this one, it is unique and refreshing at the same time!

High Points to Dior for continuing to reblend this fragrance and keeping it on the market. Muguet and lilac on classic support. It's very fresh but there's also some funk. Little Edie Beale in her overgrown garden. It's STAUNCH - you can't kill lilacs and muguet keeps coming up. It's a witches brew, because there are no lilac nor muguet absolutes available to perfumers, and also it's not sweet. It's flowery but not at all like a bouquet. Flowers on withered old growth branches and poking out of abandoned beds with a tinge of indole rot and Edie's cats. In 2020's, this could be retro punk. Throw on a mangey fur, big old sunglasses and a silk scarf and take tea in the garden. I don't know what to do with this fragrance, not least because I'm a man. I admire its frankness. It has potential as a one spritz floral add in for me. I'm surprised women find this elegant. It's chic and artistic in that, despite all the reformulations, one can imagine this directly links to Roudnitska's design. I bet it smells great on a sunny terrace mixed with the aromas of coffee and cigarettes.

I smelled Diorissimo a couple years back in Europe, and the bottle looked like the older one, so I'm not sure if it's just been rebottled or if this is a reformulation, but if it's a reformulation, I say good job! It smells just how I remembered it-the most delicious spring scent ever. I'm not usually one for pure florals, but there are a few notable exceptions, and this is one of them. I mean, I don't even really like the smell of lily of the valley, but it's amazing here and I can't get enough. It's such a joyful fragrance, it's hard to wear it and not be happy. It's not listed, but I smell a bit of musk or something creamy (maybe the ylang?) that keeps the muguet and jasmine from getting sharp and screechy, as they often can. I should also mention that this has killer lasting power on me, 12 hours+ Really shocking considering it's a modern Dior, and most of those tend to not have the best lasting power on my skin. Definitely full bottle worthy.

This parfume is so wonderful that I don't know how to describe it, I am not either able to put in words what I love, why I love it. Everyone know that this is a photorealistic LOTV.... But this is really a reductive way of describing Diorissimo. Diorissimo is the sun shining of green leaves and tiny white petals of LOTV. Diorissimo carry also the idea of the pollen over the petals... And much much more. It is one of my favourite parfume of ever. A rel masterpiece. Unfortunaty, I have a bad feeling about it. Recent IFRA restrictions make even more difficult to recreate the LOTV accord (you can estract any essential oil from LOTV), so I am wondering if this mesmerising gem is currently selling enough for Dior's starndars to invest in a major reformulation. Considering how is difficult to find in phisical stores, I fear the answer.

My aunt had a hard life. Illegitimate child, hungry after the second world war, married too soon to an alcoholic, who luckily died young leaving her with three little children. Well, she was the spunkiest lady, like ever! Growing up, I didn't know that tragic part, just that she was funny, fearless and that she drove my dad mad. She always had a kind word and a hug for everybody, gave the best presents and sweets, made everyone laugh at funerals, knew the best jokes and juiciest gossip. She has traveled the world. She was happy because she has decided to be happy. She used this fabulous german artisanal soap that smelled like lily of the valley and Diorissimo. God, I miss her... Maybe one day I will be emotionally ready to wear Diorissimo, to try to be just as fearless. What a lady...

I know it's been out for longer than I was, but I have just discovered it recently. Lily of the Valley is one of my favourite flowers and after trying so many lotv perfumes and not really liking them, I ended up testing this one in a local department store without any hope. After moving around the shelves and checking other stuff, my nose was constantly picking up what was on the blotter in my hand, ignoring everything else that I was trying to test. Soapy, fresh and understated, it the greenest white perfume I own. Spring in a bottle! The perfect companion to a white shirt on a crisp March/April day. Although not strong, it has a way of making itself present in a delicate manner, getting whiffs of it at every move, like the perfect spring breeze.

This smells like a realistic lily of the valley fragrance, in my most humble opinion! It's lovely and quite green, with a floral spring freshness and a very cool tone to it. It's definitely not a warm scent, but I quite like that in a way. I can't really smell the ylang ylang that much, like people here are talking about. I get the lily of the valley and the jasmine more. I feel that the lily of the valley is more prominent here, but that the jasmine does become more and more prominent as it dries down. There is some ylang ylang in the drydown, but it isn't prominent. This is an incredibly feminine and youthful perfume and I can imagine it smelling divine on women as young as 18 and all the way up to 80. It's that good and that universal!

I am a huge lily and lilac fan - especially lilac. I have been on the hunt for a perfume with strong lilac notes that is actually wearable. I agonised over buying Aerin Lilac Path but ultimately decided it was WAY too strong and overbearing. It was a lovely smell but I didn't want to smell of it, so it was a no for me. Diorissimo, on the other hand, is beautiful. It's strong but it's not one-note like the Aerin perfume is. I can definitely smell the lilac but it's balanced out by the other notes. I've had a sample of this beside my bed for the last week and finally took the plunge and bought it. This perfume makes me happy - and isn't that the ultimate test of a perfume? Highly recommend if you love florals.

I couldn't wait to get this out today. It seems to be an early spring day. This is perfection. It's a perfect lily of the valley. It's a perfect dewy tender flower brought out of the shade into the early morning sun. I pick them every year. Huge bouquets sit in my home. This may be even better than the real flowers. To me, this is perfume. Flowers...the original perfume for women. God created and perfumed the flowers. What can be more pretty? Lily of the valley is not my favorite flower to be sure. But this is perfect. It's royalty. I bow to the princess...

Diorissimo is the best Easter fragrance and a yearly ritual for me. It delivers the life energy of Spring, and it encompasses everything from the renewed soil to the flowers to air filled with clarity and promise. I don't find it perfectly "clean" and "fresh". I just have the one bottle and perhaps I have 20-30 more springs to enjoy, so this magic bottle with outlast me. I love that my Diorissimo will deliver the same magic to whomever owns it after I'm gone.

Another spring, another precious opportunity to wear Diorissimo at the perfect moment. Spring + Diorissimo are sure to energise anyone's day. Falls in the nectary domain, so it's not too waxy nor too indolic. But it's certainly not a sweet and cozy perfume! I've decided to nickname it The White Witch.

I can smell from the beginning to the end of pyramid scent - ylang-ylang-lily-jasmine. This is beautiful green floral scent and it's very natural also. Jasmine is dominant. I couldn't detect musk or wood. Anyone loving lily of the valley or jasmine surely love it.

I love to layer Diorissimo EDT with Yves Rocher Muguet Eau Fraiche to enhance the beautiful lily of the valley scent! While the former is sharper and more indolic, the latter is lighter and fresher which is why these two complement each other so well.

Just scored a 1 oz unopened vintage EDT...and it is GORGEOUS. My husband walked into the room after the first spray and said "that's the one!" So glad I read the recommendations on buyng vintage as opposed to the newer version.

The best interpreation of lily-of-the-valley. Delicate, fragile, icy, airy, green and proudly romantic. It does not feel like a perfume - it's almost like a green-toned watercolor encapsulated in a bottle. Breathtaking.

I imagined this reserved for spring. Well curiosity got the cat, after it caught my eye on an August night in this months long heat wave. It's very pretty after midnight, in the cooler but still summery air.

The newest addition to my collection. So spring. So lily of the valley. So strong, yet so subtle when it settles. I love it. To some, it may just smell like air freshener though, lol

I'm in love with this perfume ! It smells GREAT and it's such a nice summer/spring scent. Reminds me of fresh flower in the garden. & On me the sillage seems very good !

I emptied a bottle of this back in 2011 and I loved it so much, still do. The scent is 100% realistic presentation of lily of the valley.

A delicate masterpiece! Its beauty fills my heart with love.

A box of the cleanest jasmine ever

I have a vintage miniature of Diorissimo, Edmond Roudnitska's legendary composition featuring a photorealistic lily-of-the-valley accord - a feat, considering that the natural oil cannot be extracted from the flowers themselves. Lily-of-the-valley is a note that I particularly love in perfume, and vintage Diorissimo is the gold standard. The current Diorissimo is not the same. It is a simple white floral scent, initially soapy, but increasingly waxy and slightly cloying as it develops. The lily-of-the-valley note here is stifled by other more prominent white floral notes, primarily heady jasmine. Diorissimo opens with soapy lily-of-the-valley, that beautiful, distinctive delicate white floral note with a slight green edge. As it develops, the aforementioned jasmine note emerges, clean but strong and waxy. It becomes dominant. Ylang ylang adds a hint of sweetness after a little while. It is slightly too heavy at its middle stage, more waxy than sweet, but slightly cloying. It remains a simple white floral scent as it dries down, becoming more pleasant as it fades and the intensity decreases. Sillage is strong and longevity is moderate. The florals are quite realistic and it isn't too sweet, all of which are good, but it isn't the lily-of-the-valley scent I expected. It is a simple white floral scent with good performance, but it's not my thing - I prefer tuberose-led white florals rather than jasmine (failing the lily-of-the-valley soliflore I expected here). Still, it's a good springtime scent that will work for many. 3/5.

Diorissimo (EDT), Les Creations de Monsieur Dior 2A01, January 2022 (or maybe January 2012), 50ml. around USD 65 First Impression I might be minority here, but I find Diorissimo EDT from Les Creations de Monsieur Dior is quite better offering than vintage version. I have EDT splash bottle from maybe, 1970 or something. But I find green lily of the valley note transfer beautifully to here. While that become greener and greener, and never leave evergreen territory. Diorrisimo (LCdMD version) transform herself into beautiful white floral note. Later on, and leave somewhat her green aspect out. It still fresh and dew and all flower aspect still capture beautifully. As a male user, I prefers the new rendition a bit as it slightly leans unisex. Than that EDT splash bottle. 8/10 I declutter this and I think I will upgrade size from 50 to 100 ml. Shortly.. I do enjoy it,

Baru beli parfum ini beberapa hari yg lalu. Sebelumnya pernah mencoba tester di toko sephora...and langsung jatuh hati...tapi ga bisa langsung membeli karena harganya yg cukup WOW... Sempat terbayang2 dan dilema mau dibeli apa tidak yah... tetapi akhirnya saya beli. Tetapi sampai dirumah ternyata wanginya tidak seindah saat di toko yah...kalau disemprot beberapa kali wanginya berubah agak sedikit kesan old... and ditambah wanginya ga tahan lama :( Tetapi secara keseluruhan wanginya lumayan enak... For the first time I smell this parfume...i fall in love with it. And after I buy it i kind of dissapointed because there some kind of old smell and weak...but i still like it after all...

this is the loveliest floral perfume i have ever smelled in my whole entire life. before i thought that LOTV wasn’t for me at all because i hated fragrances that has them like miu miu and replica’s LSM. however, i was completely wrong. my jaw dropped when i smelled this. the LOTV in this is extremely realistic as mentioned in the reviews here. it’s clean, a little soapy and i smell tons of watery, grassy green notes in here.. like it just rained (something like petrichor, LOVE!) it also performd quite well for an EDT, wanted to get the EDP at first but they were sold out. perfect for hot sunny weather because it’s just so refreshing. this is definitely my favorite dior release.

Heartbreakingly beautiful, like a tune you feel you’ve always known, played on a harp ♡ Classical, transparent, but doesn’t smell outdated to me (I am a 30 year old woman). I could wear this more easily than other classics I love like Mitsouko or L’Origan. On a fresh spring morning it makes me so happy that it almost makes me emotional.

my mother's favorite perfume and my introduction into the world of designer perfumery. it's muguetTM. used to adore it. someone once told me it smells like toilet refreshener, so there's that. straightforward simple spring florals are so not me at the moment, so it's just a scent from my past to me now.

Lily of the valley is pretty much all I can smell with this, but it's done incredibly well. I get maybe a hint of jasmine to ground it but just a hint if any. This would be gorgeous for spring. I also find this is very strong at least on my skin.

Very green and so easy wearable. In winter time it opens with gorgeous lily of the valley which especially beautiful in the cold weather. Unfortunately, longevity is poor.

This is just a shadow of the classic; lacks depth and it smells just Lily of the valley, nothing else. Why Dior has to ruin all the good perfumes?

Quintessential clean, romantic and mature muguet

I've been on a bit of a perfume buying spree lately and have had some wonderful bargains on Ebay and across the net in the January Sales. I bought Diorama as a blind buy recently and loved it so when l saw Diorissimo pop up for a cheeky £50 for 100mls it would have been absolutely rude not to! I wore it for the first time today. I don't know why l was expecting it to be sweet but it isn't really. Its a very fresh floral lillies is the smell which is fine with me as white lillies are my favourite flowers the fragrance is awesome. l resent that people call them funeral flowers as if they resemble death or something! This perfume is a megablast of lilly and freshness then l get a tinge of something bubblegummy coming through not in a big way but it's definitely there it's quite pleasant actually and l hate those type of smells in perfumes. Then the beautiful jasmine comes through and Ylang-ylang and its a multitude of blooming florals but l find that once its been on a few hours the smell isn't as nice anymore, I mean it's alright but it's not a creamy sweet or powdery dry down it's kind of tangy in the drydown there is definitely something that is offending me. l keep sniffing at it on my hand like a dog thats picked up the scent of another dogs visit to a tree, l dont like it, its like the smell of the cartons of a chinese takeaway all over your kitchen the morning after you've had it for dinner the night before. That's what it turns into on me. Nope I'm not loving this. I might have to take another perfume out with me in my bag when I wear this to spray over the dry down stage or ill be sniffing at myself grimacing and dry heaving like a weirdo all day. I may even give it to my mum, what a shame though, as l had high hopes for this. I'm still glad to have it in my collection though as its never going to be a rubbish offering it is Dior after all daaaaaarling!!! 😆 🤣 😂 l give it a 5/10 because of the Chinese takeaway smell it turns into on me.

I tried a tester a few times on my skin and shirt. It is not good, like a low quality and cheap air freshener having the name of lily of the valley on it. It was somewhat better on my shirt but the lotv part is just not right there either. Yves Rocher's Muguet En Fleurs smells much better, even if it's not lasting and even if that too isn't the real lily of the valley. I find it very similar to Penhaligon's version. Layering it with something sweet made it better.

First whiff is Lily of the Valley pure. But after that, my bad, my skin does something to it that makes it smell like burned hair or something funeral. I am so sorry. I love Lily of the Valley but this is not a happy perfume. I also don't know where the Jasmine is, whatsoever.

From the start till the end smells ylang ylang and lilly of the valley I can't smell the jasmine nowhere. This reformulated perfume reminds me of funeral, a dead person in the coffin. I don't like it.

This goes very green and somewhat musty on my skin: like a bouquet of lily-of-the-valley in a vase of stale, putrid water. Luckily I only bought a sample to test it. Not for me.

Diorissimo is a beautiful, fresh floral. However, it did not last more than a couple of hours when I tried it out today. Disappointing.

I have (Forever and Ever) of the same Les Creations De Monsieur line and it is a dream in a bottle. Love it!! Based on that and upon reading about the notes and reviews here I thought I'll blind buy Diorissimo. What could go wrong, right? Oh no it turned out to smell like a nightmare and not a dream like it's sister Forever and Ever!! There is something in it that reeks and smells too green and pungent. I am storing it in my drawer at the moment to macerate a bit to see if that will help and I'll give it a try again after few months and hopefully that'll help.

Christian Dior was very superstitious and the Lily of the Valley was one of his lucky charms and he always wore a sprig of it in his lapel or carried in his pocket. He even sewed them into the hems of all of his garments prior to a fashion show in order to bring good luck and success to the collections he was showing to the world. He believed that the Lily of the Valley was a symbol of hope, good fortune and happiness. When Dior set out to create a Lily of the Valley based scent he said he wanted Diorissimo to be the “scented expression of his soul”. The notes of the fragrance include Lily of the Valley, Ylang Ylang and Jasmine. It is a very light and simple floral scent perfect for Spring and Summer. I find this to be such a beautiful scent and it plays well with others. For instance today I have paired it with a beautiful gardenia based body cream and the two go lovely together. Diorissimo has become one of my favorite scents ever and I’ve been wearing it quite a bit of late. It is perfect for the warm Florida weather. It has a nice throw, meaning others can smell it as you walk by but it is so light that it is not over powering or “too much”. The wear ability or lasting power of it is also amazing as it seems to last all day long without being too heavy. I find this can be a great unisex scent too if you know a man who is maybe into more than just a citrusy or woodsy fragrance.

From "Les Creations de Monsieur Dior" Diorissimo is the only perfume issued in extrait de pafrum, edp and edt. Even though I'm sure they all share the same dna and must be interchangeable for the majority, I'm determined to meet all three. For starters I got lucky with a forgotten edt almost hidden in my local Sephora. Well, well...for a solifloral edt the lasting power is very good;I got five hours out of it with an okay projection. As for the scent itself: it's beautiful. Crystalline, green, musky and sensual. Luxurious, sparkling amd classy. Feminine and soapy. Festive and happy, but not completely revealing, that's what I mostly like in it, besides the white floral factor, Diorissimo has just the necessary touch of mystery. I can't get enough of the scent, it is linear that is true, but it's pure lily of the valley. Straight up lily of the valley. It's all ages appropriate, all time appropriate, I don't think there's anyone who wouldn't like this scent on a wearer.

In the early 2000's I used to own Diorissimo in the old bottle, however, it was not exactly the same as the very original formula, obviously. This formula may be different from my old edt if compared side by side and as always, probably the older formula is supposed to be richer, fuller and more complex, BUT without comparing this fragrance to anything I have to say that it very loyal to the original idea and beautiful on its own: a green floral in that LOTV dominates but it is not an air freshener type of scent by any means. It still has a complex base (and the fragrance in general is way more complex than the 3 notes listed above) that radiates the vintage vibe but it is more of a classic scent than a dated one. It is feminine, fresh in a springtime manner, elegant and pretty, however, just a tad bit melancholic that only adds to its beauty. I enjoy it just as much as I used to enjoy the one in the old bottle. Now I'm curious to try the new formula edp, too.

I am seriously shocked how bad this fragrance has become! I have just tested it after years of not wearing it and it’s atrocious. Lily of The Valley accord is totally botched. All I get is a sick overdose of benzyl acetate and indole - synthetic crap from hell. So I have no idea what are you guys raving so much about? I guess it’s because most of those raving are much too young to remember the good version of this fragrance. This current incarnation has nothing, but absolutely nothing to do with Roudnitska’s masterful composition! If he could try it now, he would drop dead all over again! Whoever put that stinky concoction together must have suffered from anosmia while formulating and evaluating it. So this is my appeal to Dior: Take it off the market and reformulate it properly, because right now it is not worth your name on it!

I bought this today in EDT. The EDP was too much and though the descriptions says they only differ in concentration I find the EDP has a note that I don't like. It smells expensive, luxurious, lady like. Longevity is great and the dry down fantastic. Can be overwhelming, but that's the way I like 'em :D. It smells just like I remember the EDT my mum had in the 90's. BIG BIG BIG flowers. Lilly of the valley was a symbol of luck for CD but the essence can't be extracted from the flowers themself, this is amazing work done by the perfumer. To me this always smelled like the lilacs we had in the garden. I later found out lilly of the valley and lilacs smell very much the same the latter having a stronger green note... in any case, diorissimo is to me like receiving an enormous bouquet of lilacs.

One of my favourite pick-me-ups; a green-floral beauty, radiating happiness and effortlessly moving. It's impossibly floral & you'd think all these heady flowers would feel oppressive, but the green leaves dominate and lift up the flowers, creating an airy masterpiece. It's a dreamy, delicious, lilac and lily-of-the-valley love song from Edmond Roudnitska, still singing for anyone interested after all these years. I love this Les Creations de Monsieur Dior Diorissimo version of the original and my only gripe is its longevity. My EDT fills the air around me for an hour, then begins to fade and has merged with my own skin scent within hours. Still worth having. Life is too short to quibble with a beauty like this. Well, it seems that Dior or LVMH, likes to play with this beauty... In the last 2 weeks, I found the new bottles of the remade Diorissimo at the perfume store. The same bottle presented in the photo above, but with yellow fragrance, almost no color and other with pink liquid. I thought that maybe this variety was because Diorissimo is available in Eau de parfum and eau de toilette, but until now, I managed to find only eau de toilette. Og God, if only the 2009 reformulation has so many variants, I just don't want to imagine how they murdered mister Roudnitska Diorissimo... Thank God that I am young and I don't know the vintage smell of this, cause I think I would have cried. Anyway, I'll keep trying to notice differences. Poor vintage perfumes!
