Oud Ispahan New Look Limited Edition

Just moved my review from the normal bottle page here as it seem more appropriate. Though Dior insists that the formulation of this one and the normal bottle is one and the same, I am still not convinced. Will have to wait until mine aged a year to be able to confirm Dior’s claim. I just got mine from the MCD shop so I would assume that its this formulation. Kinda reminds me of Leather Oud but different enough for me to get both. Didn’t like it much when first tried it a few months ago but when I retried it today it’s much better and really love the dry down. I can’t really do the note breakdown into the pyramid. I just feel that the perfume is well blended into this, Oud Ispahan. Edit. This is really awkward. The review above was written based on the skin sample form the spray at the MCD store. I returned home and, after bathing, decided to test out if this perfume has any resemblance to Diptyque Oud Palao. I sprayed Oud Palao and my new Oud Ispahan side by side, and they seem to resemble one another! What’s really awkward is that my bottle of Oud Ispahan doesn’t seem to smell like the one at the shop! Urgh! Mine is the New Look Limited Edition. Edit. After talking with the MCD shop over this issue, the shop assured me that there is no reformation whatsoever. It seems that all perfumes containing oud age over time. The tester has been around for over a year, so in a year my bottle will smell like the tester. This is according to the shop. Can anyone confirm this?

I recently purchased a bottle and the opening was super harsh and it threw me off. I put it away and tried it a few days ago as the weather is getting a lil colder here in southern africa and i must say it was much warmer and alluring ... i layered it ( yes i did ), with Vanilla diorama and my goodness its beautiful match made in perfume heaven. The reformulation is a more smokier and the vanilla makes it softer and more cosy.

My absolute favorite rose scent. I love wearing this post-shower when relaxing. It's so uplifting, and layered. It mixes so well with Rose of no man's land from byredo too, they piggy-back nicely. For me it's a very chill, rose, with a bit more depth than most rose fragrances. Slightly smokey, and the oud balances it out nicely without drawing the other elements out. I can see this being worn in a lot of settings.

ckorp8 Not sure about this particular one, but I can tell you that my 2012 formula bottle has aged over time - the color of the juice has turned a slightly darker shade of rose, and the oud note now sounds a little less harsh upon first spray. So there might be some truth to what they've told you at the boutique. That said, if you enjoy it as it is right now (fresh), go ahead and spray away :) I know that every time I wear this I'm giving myself a good perimeter on the subway :))))
