This fragrance has possibly the largest gap of enjoyment between the opening and the dry down than any other fragrance I have come across. Honestly, the opening is, well, I don't want to be too negative, but it's kinda gross. There is a post earlier that likens this to Sriracha, and I can agree with that. Instead of washing it off immediately, I went ahead and kept wearing it. You know what, it actually becomes really nice after about an hour. It turns into this warm, spicy scent that I kept bring my arm to my nose to smell it, very addicting. Overall, I can not believe they labeled this a "Sport" fragrance. It's a unique scent, but I'm afraid it's unique for a reason. It's not bad, but I can think of at least 200 other fragrances I'd rather wear than this. **5 Month Update - This fragrance deserved me circling back and updating my review. To sum it up, this fragrance is actually pretty good. I've found that the slight spiciness in this fragrance matches up well with some other sweet fragrances. In a way this blends with those sweet fragrances which gives you that spicy sriracha scent with sweetness from another fragrance. Sure, this fragrance is fine to wear by itself, too. Don't be too quick to judge this fragrance as I did, once you understand what type of fragrance this is you can potentially grow quite fond of it.

I don't understand all the hate. Beautifully simple clean sporty scent. Isn't that what sporty fragrances is all about? i bought a 50 ml back in 2011 and still own the same bottle. It has decent projection and last atleast 6 to 8 hours. It's inoffensive,fresh spicy and woody with an aquatic feel. One of it's kind, especially that it is a sport fragrance. I truly don't understand the comments saying it is poor in performance. Totally not my experience at all. If i spray more than 3 sprays I'll still be able to smell them on my clothes for a couple of days. Maybe the commenters have different batches or that it has been reformulated. I have to give it a sniff next time i pass by a perfume shop. My final thoughts Projection 6.5 Longevity 8 Scent 7 Would also recommend blind buying this, it's a safe sporty fragrance.

Wow! I really do enjoy this! I wasn't sure what to expect, but since I have most of the rest, when an unused bottle at a decent price came up, I jumped on it. I wanted to see if the 3.4 rating was deserved and in my opinion, it certainly is rated well below where it should be. With other The One flankers, I smell it and immediately say "oh yeah, there's that DNA" but with this one, not so much. It's very intriguing. It's certainly sporty, but I would consider it varsity-sporty. It doesn't smell cheap and chemical like Nautica can on occasion. On the level that all of the good Mugler's were discontinued, it is a crime this too was discontinued.

I fall in love with this more and more with each wearing. Beautiful fragrance that was cursed with the worst name. I admit, most likely because of the name, I didn't care much for it at first. Probably because I was expecting a 'sport' scent and this is not that. It does have an aquatic feel, but the woody/spiciness added on top make this a truly unique and enjoyable scent. This is too daring for today's world, where everything has to be pleasing to everybody; no character, no soul just boring redundant even-steven vanilla fragrances redundantly released over and over. Stand out of the crowd and find you a bottle of this, if you dare.

This is one of the most definitively clean, masculine, gentlemanly fragrances you could ever own. It is what should be listed in the frag-world dictionary under “Sophisticated Sport” fragrance. I never quite understood the hate directed toward it- are people mad bc it is best suited for Sport related scenarios? Let us not forget that “Sport” is listed in the title. A beautiful fresh/clean sport fragrance that I would definitely recommend to anyone needing this type of scent in their collection.

This is on my top list of signature fragrance collection I have. This is the only fragrance that gave me most compliments with females works well with my body chemistry and last long on me . This is a sport fragrance not an overwhelming sweet fragrance. Sadly discontinued but I have backups of this hidden gem! So good for any formal or informal occasion as well for work every day . To me this is a masterpiece!

This scent holds a super important spot in my heart as my first fragrance. Today, the smell of this cologne brings back a rush of memories and feelings of a time when the world was full of possibilities and potential, a bright eyed young man finding his place. To me, this will always be a special one, even though it’s discontinued and not particularly well reviewed. I love you, ol sport!

Comments about very poor longevity amaze me. For me it does last long, and I can feel it even days after on clothes. The smell is very nice and refreshing. Beautiful mix of aquatic notes and spices. Really love this scent! :) Also one of the best sport fragrances. 8.8/10

Love this fresh, clean, sporty frag! Poor longevity but not intended to last a long time. Bought it as a blind buy after finding a great deal online. It's become one of the few frags I'll wear to the gym!!

This fragrance gets hated on so much that naturally I had to try it out for myself. Don't like the initial 5 minutes but after that I absolutely love it. Quite simple but still original somehow.

I don't get why so many people dislike it here. I find it very nice - acquatic, fresh, aromatic, really plesant smelling. Also some people have praised this smell on me :)

Sportive versions exist in the perfumery market a long time ago. It seems to me that, since 2010, the companies started to improve a little bit this type of fragrances, because it was possible to perceive an improvement in the aroma and also in the durability of the majority that receives such name. If on the one hand there is a lot of criticism, on the other, there is a benefit to people who live in extremely hot regions during the year and need this type of scent on their shelves. And in Brazil, this type of audience is immense. In this version from 2012, the D&G brand wanted to convey the Italian ideal, inherited from classical Greece to ancient Rome, in which sport is competition, celebrating the most genuine value between sport and life. With hints of Rosemary and marine accord in the output, the fragrance won the Mediterranean touch. At the heart, the same cardamom from previous versions, now sharing space with Sequoia wood. And in the base, notes of patchouli and musk. As I wrote in my review for The One Gentleman, it’s been a while since I've been treating any flanker as a new fragrance to be added to a fragrance's line. I only create greater expectations when dealing with lighter versions (Fraiche / Fresh) or intensive versions (Intense). In these cases, I always look forward to identifying the DNA of the original version, either in a more refreshing or intensified way. In this Sport version - the first released by D&G - I have not identified any relationship with The One for Men. This is a different fragrance, which is not innovative, but also not generic. The marine output works fine, doesn't fade quickly and gives freshness. The scent is delicious, but the heart that brings wood and spice together has failed. The base is stronger and the musk is quite present. Oddly enough, The One Sport has good durability, passing the common 5 hours of the majority of the sport fragrances. Luckily, they didn't keep the actor Matthew McConaughey in this campaign too, because it would be too much. The bottle kept the visual identity of the line, now in transparent tones and with the details (neck and inscriptions) in red, almost a standard in sportive fragrances.

The One was a very nice oriental fragrance which would have been a masterpiece if it performed a bit better.. The One Gentlemen was also nice, and than you have The One Sport.. The One Sport is a Sport flanker to The One but it has very little to do with The One.. The One Sport opens up extremely bright, fresh, and invigorating with a huge blast of aquatic notes and a fresh herbal rosemary note.. The aquatic notes last throughout this entire fragrance.. Than you pick up a very fresh clean cardamom note and a faint woodiness from the sequoia.. The base is a very clean musk and a touch of patchouli which smells very nice in contrast with the fresh aquatic notes.. The patchouli and musk base add a slight dirty earthy musky vibe to this super clean scent which is interesting, and smells very nice.. Does The One Sport smell synthetic? Yes, but than again so does anything that is aquatic.. I am not big on Sport fragrances or aquatics but the scent of The One Sport is very pleasant to my nose.. I am not going to lie The One Sport smells very very good as does The One but they both have a very very weak performance, and it is such a shame because they both smell great! If only this fragrance performed better it would have probably been one of the best Sport fragrances on the market, but unfortunately it falls short..

DURING WORKOUT FRAGRANCE a friend gave to me some samples. scent is good, but poor longevity and sillage. but i realized that the right way to use it is in the gym, during workout. i think it's the only fragrance that can be used in this way, so the one sport has a good reason to exist. ho provato diversi campioncini di questo profumo. è buono ma dura poco. il miglior modo per utilizzarlo secondo me è usarlo durante l'allenamento in palestra.questo perchè è gradevole, non invasivo, può essere confuso con un ottimo deodorante e le ragazze presenti gradiscono. credo che al momento sia l'unico profumo da uomo veramente adatto ad essere usato durante gli allenamenti, quindi credo di aver trovato un senso a questo prodotto che altrimenti sarebbe inutile. scent: 7 longevity: 6,5 sillage: 6,5 versatility: 7 vote 7/10

I workout in the gym regularly so I'm always on the lookout for good sport scents, the fragrances that are gym friendly and easy, non offensive, pleasing, fresh scents. This is everything I just listed. It exceeded my expectations of it. It opens up with a great scent and it kinda hangs tight for a good little while, longer than the opening of most sport scents. I like it a lot. Citrus fruit, clean, fresh water, sporty, reacts well to intense weight training and helps keep the mind rejuvenated and focused during a workout.

its the one that doesnt deserve the ONE line tag....such a beautiful bottle,perhaps the best looking bottle in that line, but the juice inside reminded me of ferrari scuderia red, which i got 5 years ago and never used so i gave to my friend,its really not anywhere near the other sport fragrances offered by designers, many people like it though, but longevity is an issue, this should be offered for not more than 15 usd, then it can be sold....its a No go for me..i have 8ml mini and i think ill just keep it in collection.

My bottle is just about done. Summer is starting to fade. I really like this scent but find it insulting that the performance is so weak. You can do better D&G. Scent-A nice, aquatic, woody scent(sequoia). This is what I wear to do co-ed sports. Season-summer time. Wear it to the beach or by the river. Performance- one of the weakest scents I've ever encountered. I got it as a gift and would not buy it even though I enjoyed it. In 30 minutes it's a skin scent. In about 1.5 hours it's gone.

Nothing special. The use of the name "The One" here is just a marketing ploy to cash-in on the success of the original "The One". However, this is a decent, run-of-the-mill citrus-aquatic fragrance. Just another sporty fragrance. The scent itself is not in the same category as Clinique Happy, Keno L'Eau, Issey Sport, or Chanel Allure Sport. So don't get your hopes up. Just another generic sport fragrance. Decent but generic.

Justo another acuqatic, herbal-spicy scent. Lots of rosemary and calone until... WOW! the drydown in amazing! My guess is that whatever combination of synthetics they used to recreate "sequoia" combines excellently with the warm musk and the beautyfuly masculine patchouli. Nothing special for at least 15 minutes. Absolute pleasure then on. Highly recommended and a great compliment getter.

I bought this cologne because I had owned one other D&G cologne (Light Blue), and I thought I'd give their sport brand a try. I like the smell a lot, but it doesn't last very long. It doesn't emit very well. I spray it before going to the gym so I don't smell like sweat, but when I leave the gym I only smell sweat and not the cologne. Pros: Great Scent Con: Doesn't last very long at all

Non male! Viste le recensioni dei miei predecessori m'aspettavo peggio! Le note d'acqua marina sono le più forti e formano un bel mix con il rosmarino e il cardamomo. Il muschio chiude la fragranza portando pulizia olfattiva. Patchouli avvertibile la sequoia no perchè non ne conosco la fragranza assoluta. Una base woody è comunque avvertibile. I think The One Sport is a safe scent. Not too overpowering, a fair longevity 3-4 hours then its too close to skin. I live in a hot area so I pretty much use it as a work fragrance. For those who want a fragrance to get noticed, I think you go crazy on the trigger. The One sport is perfectly fine, you may not smell it after an hour but those close to you will do for 4+ hours.

Thumbs up for 'The One Sport' - Dolce & Gabbana I went to the store and wanted to try dolce & gabbana's 'the One' - out of mistake I tried 'Sport' and fell in love with it. It is light and slightly fresh (thus the aquatic notes) but at the same time slightly sweet. But not in a Tom Ford kind of sweet, but in a more gentle way. I loved it ever since.

I got a decant of this, please let me know if I've bought a 10ml bottle of water or not. I really enjoyed the opening, super fresh, super aquatic, fresh and clean..... But.... I sprayed at midday, went for a paper, got home by 12.25 and all trace of it had gone, 25 mins on the skin. I'm stunned. Performance, the worst thing I've ever tried.

Why all the hate on here? This is a light, nice smelling scent that sneaks up on you and the women around you. Very suitable to hot weather or after a workout or your evening shower prior to settling down with your lady. I consider this a "staying in" cologne rather than a "going out one" but that doesn't mean it fails to do its job.

I like it!! Smells similar to armani code sport but w a twist and doesn't have the signature armani scent! I do like it. I live sort colognes. It isn't too strong but that's what I expect in a sports cologne bc I don't wana be overpowered by a scent when working out . I like this. Use it a lot, good summer fragrance .

I can appreciate the scent in and of itself but there just isn't many occasions when I want a fragrance to last 30min. 2hrs to leave out and run a few errands sure, but not 30min. As others have stated and the description implies, this is for the gym and "designed" to be lighter. Touche D&G...I'll wear it to the gym.

I think this has a very nice clean fresh scent - and to me that's what a "Sport" scent is supposed to be. I agree with fragscape - this does resemble Platinum Egoiste. While I love the scent, I wish it were a little more detectable, and had a little more longevity. Overall, a very nice sport fragrance.

Very aquatic. This is almost pure water! the only other note i can smell is cardamon, but it's very soft. It's a pleasant perfume, but too simple for my taste. My husband says it's an old man's perfume. Anyways, not worth the price tag, in my opinion. Sillage is soft, longevity moderate.

stop hating and start seing this gem as what it is instead: such a nice all-day-usual-scent, like pure water just to refresh and feel clean, not really like a parfume, just pure cleaness. exactly what you want from a SPORT cologne!!! luv it on my BF when he ́s working out

This is a good flanker, I can't believe the likes and dislikes are almost even, but IMO it is as it should be for a sport version, it lasted more than 7 hrs on me, I have no complains, although is not my favorite flanker for The One, but I don't regret buying it.

I agree with @encog21 this doesnt smell bad at all (smells actually nice imo (: ), but well looks like d&g was pretty economic with this one? Looks like 1% fragrance and 99% water to me huh lasts half an hour maximum, I have no explanation why d&g is doing that.

Generic and unidentifiable. Typical from D&G...But having said that, it is a pleasing summer scent. Not offending, fresh, and clean. Not worth the insane price tag, but pick yourself up a used bottle on ebay or in a swap if you can :)

In spite of the negative reviews i find The One Sport Dolce&Gabbana is a good freg , there is no WOW factor but like i said a good one with moderate Longevity & Sillage ( 2 - 3 ) hours. P.S. a n intense edition is recommended !

I got this as a gift, and its an okay scent. i wear this to the gym and i get compliments. If you have this one Wear it on a hot and humid day and it will last all day and it will project a lot more.

Not sure why there are so many negative comments about it. To me it is a really pleasant scent. However, D&G fall short when it comes to longevity, and it is way overpriced for such poor performance.

A perfect middle-of-the-road-officescent! I like it, my co-workers like it. And to be honest, what ́s not to like about this frag?! Paid 48 euros/54 $ for 100 ml. I think that ́s a fair price.
