Nakinn

Nakinn perfume was launched in 2019 and is part of the Iceland Collection, created by niche brand Dotti Perfumes. The collection pays tribute to the strength of the Scandinavian people, the beauty of the aurora borealis and the forests of Iceland. In addition, there is a concept worked in the background, which brings the language of Runes, where each fragrance has its own personality. The Icelandic word Nakinn means naked in English and this fragrance symbolizes the undergrowth and mossy vegetation of the forests, which merges with the wild fruits that fall on the grass and ripen on the tree's roots. Its rune is Jera and represents transition; the end and the restart; reward and abundance. Its composition lists notes of orange, bergamot, calone, tarragon and Spicata mint, in the head; Rhubarb, green tea, coriander, and wild blueberry, in the body; Oakmoss, cedar, sandalwood, patchouli and vetiver, in the base. It is important to say that the perfumer behind this collection - Rodrigo Lombardi - has created an accord (which he called Nordic) that will be present in all fragrances, as a DNA of his own, combining bergamot, calone, mint, and tarragon. On the skin, Nakinn looks like the most versatile and shareable of the three fragrances in this collection, but that changes in a few minutes. Its opening is rich in citrus and aromatic content, with plenty of mint and tarragon and a strong aspect of sour lemon peel. It is possible to smell fennel or anise during evolution and do not be surprised, as it is completely normal to notice these facets when using tarragon or Toscanol compound. Over time, a slight rhubarb content appears and fuses with the citrus aroma of coriander. So we have a more acidic heart that paves the way for a new unfolding in the evolution of the fragrance, revealing its mossy base. Finally, Nakinn's scent is no longer too minty and raspy, a feature that I believe will scare female audiences at first. It turns greener and woodier, but without bearing the dated look of mossy scents of yore. That is, it is in agreement with what the current market celebrates. Particularly, I am very happy with the result of this collection, as I see that there was a commitment to change what was not so “finalized” in the launch of Profusion, to present more coherent and better-worked products this time. This represents an improvement and a closer look at what was said by the consuming public. And this refined look brought products with a beautiful visual presentation and, above all, better fragrances.
