Crazy Basil

Fresh herbal and very green scent. I find it quite unique and pleasent but i prefer the body soap over this. Personally i fell like it leans masculine and it does also have a soapy element to it but not in a bad way. I will get through the sample propably but a full bottle would be too much for this kind of fragrance. Its not really an easy everyday wear but lovely change for a fresh summer scent.

The opening is sooo amazing unlike anything I have smelt, however, once it dries down after an hour or two it becomes a basic shower scent. It still smells really good, the hinoki and rosemary combination is amazing. Unfortunately I can not justify getting a full body as much as I like this. Definitely considering getting the body wash of this though.

This has one of the most realistic basil notes I’ve tried, green and sharp with that hint of anise that basil has. As it dries it’s all about the cedar. This has good longevity (7-8 hours) and a nice moderate projection. Most will consider this traditionally masculine smelling. This is not a bad scent, but, in my opinion, this is too simple for the price. You get an opening of basil and a dry down of cedar. It’s difficult to detect anything else and the scent is very linear. Some people may want that, I want more for $300.00.

The opening is plasticy basil with cedar undertones. It’s bitter, vegetal, herbal. You feel like the basil between a piece of tomato and a piece of mozzarella. It goes pretty much one note generic male perfume green lavender from there on out. The overall scent is slightly bitter, slightly aromatic, fresh but not too grassy and not aquatic at all, slightly vegetal, maybe even slightly sweet from geranium. Moderate sillage. The dry down is comforting and a bit boring. I’ll be back to update my review as I try it further.

With basil being my new life obsession, I had to try this. The basil note in the opening is there, although not very intense, which already disappointed me. It quickly dries down to... nothing. A generic green male scent. Huge shame.

I like the initial release of dries van noten fragrances but the latest additions are lacking the originality. Okay the basil note is interesting initially but it dries down to a generic male "cologne" smell. Absolutely not worth money. Headache inducing.

This is pretty much as described. Smells like basil, and conifers. And citrus. Would work well as a car air freshener. As I have often found with DVN its too effing sweetttt. This is confusing. I don't think it works.

Incredible opening, but somewhat disappointing dry down like many others have noted here. The opening is a euphoric, organic fresh soapy basil that you can practically inhale, with all other mid and base notes swirling in the background. Then, surprisingly, the dry down takes on a cheap synthetic cologne vibe; kind of sharp and screechy (possibly headache inducing if you’re sensitive). I wouldn’t be surprised if they end up tweaking this one with a reformulation. Not worth the price.

The basil here is no joke. All I got was basil and some supporting notes. I didn't know the name of this originally, and I asked the lady working there if it's basil I'm picking up. It dried down into clean cologne with some funky switch-up.

The basil is a big player and that makes it an underrated fragrance for women. It's soapy/basily and makes me wonder why all the "masculine" votes. It's more unisex. Smells excellent on my wife...she loves it. It's just OK on me.

The first thing that came to mind when I sprayed this is - it’s Aramis New West For Her. And I was so happy. It’s a beautiful fresh scent and one that I will wear very often.
