Green Tea Strawberry Basil

Tested this in a Terry White chemist the other day and its so fresh and juicy and alive, like you just muddled the strawberry and basil in a glass and poured something sparkling and astringent over it. As it dries down the strawberry & basil turn a bit powdery and softly musky but I love that too. I'm generally not that excited by strawberry in a fragrance, and I've always found the Green Tea series to read a little to close to window spray on me, despite whatever else it claims to contain (Is the nectarine in the room with us?). THIS though? Does exactly what it says on the bottle and is pure dopamine. I'll be acquiring it on my next visit 💜 ETA: took this to work and my entire floor is obsessed, its a certified banger. If I could get commission I'd happily get paid in back-up bottles. 🍓🍓🍓🍓

Hated the first spray, but after ten minutes I returned and bought the bottle. This is delicious. It’s sweet and savoury and has the same refreshing feel as a middle-eastern pomegranate salad. The strawberry feels iced, the basil is subtle and minty, rather than blown-out aniseedy. The herbal, woody notes reduce the risk of this becoming cloying. It’s another banger and perfect for work. Sillage is better than other EA GT fragrances I have owned also.

This is surprisingly lovely! Smells like a homemade strawberry drink you'd have in someone's garden on a summer evening. Fresh, fruity and herbal. Definitely get some mint even though it's not a listed note. Not too sweet, lasts a decent while. Great for the summer heat!

I don't get so much green notes from this. Much more strawberry :) I like it! Like someone already have said, it's like a watery strawberry lemonade with a touch of a green note.

Smells like strawberry matcha. On the skin it doesn’t last long like 1-2h but in the hair or on the clothes it lingers way longer like 6-7h. Really nice summer scent. 😍

The first ten seconds all I got was sweet bad breath which was... not the best first impression. I'm glad I didn't immediately disregard it, because the fragrance develops quite nicely. Nothing about this scent is surprising. It smells like strawberry water infused with basil leaves and green tea. The strawberry notes are fresh, sweet, crispy, not overpowering or cloying. They disappear rather quickly, making room for the green tea to come through, and leaving behind a fresh, herbal, woody, slightly musky scent that's also very pleasant - kind of reminds me of fresh laundry tbh. It's very clean, mild, feminine. Nothing about it feels controversial or offensive. The cottagecore/fairycore/whatevercore girls will probably really enjoy this scent. And while it's very youthful, I can also see whimsical older ladies pulling it off. Could even be interesting on men or other genders as well, it really depends on the vibe of the person I think. Personally I'm still a little torn on it. On one hand, I respect that this fragrance doesn't complicate things and is very straightforward. Strawberries, basil, green tea, there you go. On the other hand, I do wish it didn't play it so "safe". I wish it was more interesting and had more depth, or maybe a surprising element, just some "oomph". Maybe a stronger woody note coming through when the strawberry note disappears, or something more floral in the middle notes to compliment the strawberry. But maybe, this is simply not what they were going for with this fragrance, which is a decision I can also respect.

Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Strawberry Basil just arrived yesterday. My curiosity got the better of me, so I decided to order it. I love the packaging and the bottle. I think they're both very pretty, so I have to disagree with the reviewer on the Elizabeth Arden website who said they looked like they were designed for teenagers. To me, they're perfectly suited to what this fragrance is meant to be: something light, cheerful, sweet, and summery. Now, onto the juice inside the bottle, which I'm sure is what most people really want to know. Unfortunately, I'm a little underwhelmed. I don't love it—in fact, I don't even strongly like it. The opening is very pretty and pleasant, but unfortunately, the fragrance has almost no longevity. It's gone within minutes. I'm sorry I wasted my money on this one. Maybe this fragrance works for other people but sadly it just doesn't work for me.

took a bit of a risk blind buying this one - i usually opt for sweeter more gourmand scents, but i was in the market for something a little more fresh and clean to wear at the office during the hotter months, and this seemed like a good "between" that i could like. on first spray, all i got was GREEN - the basil is honestly a little overpowering at first and i started to panic thinking i had made a mistake, but when it dries down it mellows out into a lovely subtly sweet scent on my skin. not pure sugar, but more a fresh picked strawberry on a lovely spring day. the hint of musk also gives it a little bit of warmth that cuts through the aggressive green smell, which i find really quite pleasant. excited to get some wear out of this this summer!

a really nice fragrance if you want something fresh for summer without it being citrus. immediately after spraying you get more basil than strawberry but after drying down strawberry becomes more prominent (although still watery) and I just adore that wild strawberry undertone. sweetness is light, not suffocating at all, which is great for hot summer days. it is definitely “fresh spicy” however not annoyingly as most of it evaporates rather quickly and what’s left gives the smell a pristine feel, as if the greens in this fragrance are alive. the longevity is weak, and so is the sillage. while most people agree that it’s more feminine leaning, I see it as a great unisex and would honestly love to smell this on a guy.

It isn't a photorealistic strawberry, more like abstract. But the strawberry is definitely there, along with some mild green notes. I don't get any musk from this. Like the entire GT line, this one is very short-lasting but it is very pleasant on a hot day and I keep sniffing my skin to get a whiff of it. This flanker is totally adequate to the rest of the line and is overall very fresh and invigorating.

Initial impressions: The opening is heavy on the basil. It mellows out some as it dries down, and it becomes a fresh, herbal scent with a slight sweet tinge. It all blends together well, so I don’t get a huge dose of strawberry specifically. It is an almost citrus, tart berry to me. This is an interesting freshie that last around 3 hours before I can’t smell it anymore.

the original didn't work for me, so i figured i try this since i like strawberry. i imagine a strawberry lemonade with mint would smell like this. it's definitely on the lighter side, spraying this on clothes instead of skin might be better

So.. I quite like the original green tea, so I thought strawberry-basil gonna be bomb since I like those ingredients. I can’t say I hated it, but something is a bit off for me in this pyramid. The bottle sprayer smelt like strawberry so I expected the top notes be quite sweet but, alas, very subtle strawberry whiff on top of some greens. I could distinguish the basil but then it all turned to cucumber to me, but the really disappointing part would be the musk base. Don’t get me wrong I love musks, I’m all for musks but here it strangely clashes with the freshness and wateryness of other ingredients. Like if a fresh strawberry-basil-cucumber water with ice would be poured in a very-very fluffy dusty glass. I wish they used woody or green base for that instead of musk, I can see it being spectacular based on vetiver or smth. I will use it probably around the house or on a very hot days, won’t be my first grab though. Well, also with fragrances in this price range it’s always a gamble. But if I’d known all this I’d go for the original green tea since it’s more balanced overall.

Basil is too strong and made me nauseous 🤢 I expected a green strawberry tea one and got a piss-y basil mess... A total failure. 😖

I find the strawberry note to be quite strong here, with a green freshness in the background. For me, this is a lovely, everyday spring/summer fragrance. Reasonably long lasting, especially if layered with the body cream.

This is really nice! It’s a fresh but edible strawberry. Sweet enough but with a pleasant herbal background. Feminine and relaxing. Safe but interesting. Smells more expensive than it is. Pleasant discovery!

A truly delicious fragrance for summer! I love tea ,strawberries and basil, so the combination is divine. And if you want longer wear, just layer it with Jo Malone Lime & Basil and thank me later! 🫶🏼🍃🍓

I am so impressed with this one. If im honest I wasnt expecting much but this is beautiful and suprisingly lasts longer than most of my EDPs. Gorgeous for summer and good value for longevity.
