Sweet

On me, this is a warm, comforting pear scent with an amber-y base. The effect is soft, but juicy at the same time- definitely reminiscent of a sweet yellow pear (extra points here because it seems like forever since I've tried a frag that actually has an accurate name and bottle design!) Where I think some people might have issue with it is the amber note is similar to the amber in Ellis Brooklyn's Super Amber- there is a little bit of a "fresh soil" scent to it underneath the sweetness. Sounds weird, but to me it's good. The only thing I don't like about it is the alcohol smell in the opening, but that's a pretty common gripe I have with a lot of perfumes. Very low sillage after the first hour, but I get oddly good longevity out of it otherwise. It's really growing on me and I like it enough to pick up a travel size, (although I may test out God is a Woman to see if that's actually comparable, because this is a bit expensive for what it is.)

I understand these reviews, and none of these notes should appeal to me but I love this perfume very much and find it different than the mass market, nondescript fruity florals. It opens sweet but has a lovey amber musky scent to it, and I get whiffs of violet. Reading the notes, I should not love as I do but just ordered a bottle and want to wear it every day and night for summer, and hope it can last a while into Fall. It is sexy! I dont really get pear from it but perhaps the marshmallow sweetness and general sugary scent. It is a lovely contradiction and while the longevity is not great, I find it far superior to the perfumes it is compared to, no headache and more natural. A total winner for me! When the scent is almost gone it makes my skin smell like I wish I naturally smelled :)

Sweet pear compote dissolves into the clean skin scent that seems to be the backbone of all Ellis Brooklyn perfumes. Others have mentioned Sour Patch Kids, to me this is more Swedish Fish. She’s the friendly, polite girl you meet at a friend’s birthday party. Non-judgmental, makes you feel at ease and encouraged in conversation, but kind of basic. Very hot in a clean girl way. She’s a Swiftie and she wears Everlane. Obsessed with her cat. Moved to the city with her boyfriend last year. They live on Bedford Ave and they’re paying way too much. EDIT: as maybe you guessed, I sorely misjudged this chica! Sweet has become an easy, light summer go-to. There’s something to be said for simple likeability.

I'm blown away by the artistry in this one. For one, it's the first time I've smelled a pear note that was realistic. It feels like the light amounts of violet and heliotrope in Sweet are specifically here to amp up the pear note instead of singing for themselves. The sweetness is light rather than nauseating, and the orris gives it a pleasant fluff around the edges without going into full powder mode. The white amber gives it depth without turning it into a full-on amber fragrance. It's extremely well balanced, but you can still catch different notes here and there (like an occasional whiff of bergamot). I wish I knew the nose behind this one so I could find out what else they've made.

This is one of my favorite perfumes! It’s complex, warm, Iris-y, sweet, and sexy. Fitting for any occasion, time of year, time of day. I get so many compliments when I wear it. It lasts about 6 hours on me. The other day while shopping, I was sniffing perfumes per usual, and came across Lancôme’s latest: La Vie Est Belle Iris Absolue. I feel in love. I ordered a large sample. I wore it for a couple days. I did start to detect a faint sharp/ chemical-y note. But kept wearing. Then I realized that it smelled very familiar. It is very very similar to EB Sweet! However, Sweet is less sweet and cloying, softer, and better! And clean ingredients, which is important to me.

It smells like a pear fruit cup. Like you spilled it all over and your chin and fingers are sticky. Super nostalgic and I love it. This is definitely in the same family as Sun Fruit and Father Figure. It's almost very similar to Orris 22. It's juicy, fruity, and perfectly powdery all at the same time. It's much more muted than Sun Fruit and more "sweet" and feminine than Father Figure, but it has that same intoxicating base. I can't stop sniffing my arm. It's fantastic, I do wish it projected better though. It's too weak and that's the only reason I can't justify a new bottle. I don't want to have to sniff my arm to smell my perfume.

I can't say how much of it is chemistry, but this is a clean-smelling fruity floral on me that is more refreshing than sweet. Yes, it's somewhat sweet, but not as much as it's slightly creamy and soapy beneath a freshly cut pear. The cashmeran and amber are reminiscent of Trish by Trish McEvoy, though perhaps it's a transitional stage. I do find a synthetic muskiness to this fragrance - and its sharp twist - somewhat interesting. It's not up there with my favourite gourmands (I'm not even sure it is a gourmand on me - I certainly get none of the marshmallow) but it's a pleasant wear that works all year round. Yes, I like it.

I have to agree with other reviews in the fact that it does smell like Swedish fish! IMO, this fragrance is somewhere in the middle between God is a Woman and Glossier You, but with added powderiness from the marshmallow. If you like those types of fragrances, then you will like this one! For being named Sweet, it is surprisingly not too sweet and is actually a bit on the lighter side. I really enjoy this fragrance, and I think it is an easy reach for everyday wear! ☀️🍐🍭💛

Holy crap this is Swedish fish in a bottle, and honestly I'm here for it! The name of this perfume does not kid around, and genuinely only for those who really enjoy gourmand smells. I would love to wear this as a signature, but I know it's definitely sickeningly sweet for many people. The projection is decent and dry down really nice, it's something I know I really want and might make this my spring or inner-child scent!

I really enjoy this. First wear made me think of blue skies with just the right amount of couds to not be considered gloomy, but full sun and air with a touch of salt on warm skin. Neither masc nor fem on me but quite nice. It’s a beautiful mix of notes with the ambrette, violet, pear and marshmallow being my personal faves. It reminded me of BR540 extrait and instant crush in the dry down.

This stuff is soooo delicious. Only issue is that the longevity is complete garbage! Evaporates within 30 minutes or less. Doesn't last on paper, skin, or clothes as far as I can tell. Sweet is....perfectly named as a perfume. It does smell similar to god is a woman by ariana, however that one smells a tiny bit worse and the dry-down is cheap. Not as well blended or smooth as this one.

This is one of those perfumes where if you walked past me and wore this, I would stop you to ask what you’re wearing. It’s sweet and fruity but in a sophisticated way. The pear is the main character of course, which I love and the dry down is immaculate. Definitely a great summer fragrance although I think you can wear this all year around. I would buy this again for sure!

this scent is so amazing. it totally smells almost exactly like God is a Woman by Ariana Grande but the dry down is completely different. First of all the fruity notes in this perfume do not wear out anywhere near as fast as Arianas do and this perfume is more sweet and sugary than Arianas. It lasts very long and has beautiful amber notes towards the end.

I really enjoy Sweet by Ellis Brooklyn. It opens fruity, clean and a bit powdery to my nose. This fragrance leans a bit feminine, but it has “sweet” gourmand qualities that I think make it unisex. The simple description would be it smells like fruity candy, think Sour Patch Kids or Swedish fish. I like it, very pleasant, my favorite by Ellis Brooklyn.

Gorgeous. Fluffy sweet marshmallow with greenly sweet pear, floral sweet orris, violet and heliotrope, musky sweet amber, cashmeran and ambrette. Lasts all day and beyond - it will revive itself next day in the morning workout. I wanted marshmallow and sweetness without feeling like I was wearing a tween body spray or celeb scent, and SWEET nailed it!

This gets me compliments every time I wear it. I will repurchase until the end of time! The pear comes out as sweet and candied. The middle notes really ground it to be more than just a sweet scent. The marshmallow and amber work really well together in the base. I recommend to anyone who wants a sweet and addictive scent.

This is one of the best smells I’ve ever smelled before, this is exactly what I love in a perfume. It’s fruity, juicy, airy, sweet, powdery, soft and bright. I tend to love mallow, pear, and fruity airy vanilla perfumes along the lines of Mod vanilla, Liis studied, Sparkling Nectar. Shame it doesn’t last at all 😭😭😭

Tested in store. I noticed it lingered most of the afternoon and shone through the other fragrances I had tested on my skin. It is a bright, candy-coated fragrance, perhaps a little juvenile - but I loved it. Reminiscent of pear jelly beans, Swedish Fish, and those sugary edible flowers in fancy cocktails.

This such a criminally underrated fragrance! It has unique pear and marshmallow scent that is perfect for the summer. Everyone always compliments me when I'm wearing it and it has become one of my favorites. It smells youthful, without being childish. I'm always sniffing myself whenever I'm wearing it.

@momopeach, have you tried La Belle (either variations) by Gaultier? That has a strong pear note and is very sweet, dessert type vibes? Sweet by Brooklyn Ellis is all pears and lolly shop vibes... heavenly. Love wearing this one on my arms whilst I am also wearing Angel's Share... beautiful gourmands!

It's juicy pear and powdery marshmallow. A gourmand, fruity, fluffy, sweet deliciousness. I really enjoy this perfume, it has just the right amount of everything. It's a no brainer really but unfortunately it lacks in performance. But still good enough for a full bottle.

some reviews say this smells Swedish Fish candy and I have to agree. but it's more grown up in a way? idk. it's very pear-heavy to me but not cloying-ly so. I love the musky backdrop to this perfume. has to be one of my favs from the Ellis Brooklyn discovery set

I LOVEEE this scent. It smells like a fresh, shampoo, candy land. I would buy this perfume over and over again, BUT it doesnt last on me. It disappears after 5 minutes. If this lasted longer, this would be my signature scent.

Juicy, sweet pear with a beautiful marshmallow note. At the very tail end of dry-down, right before it disappears completely, it smells like dryer sheets. Enjoyable from start to finish. Sweet, but not nauseatingly so.

Smells like the taste of swedish fish or sour patch kids when they turn sweet. It's like honey, marshmallow, pear, and a honeysuckle type smell. Very clean smelling, I wouldn't say it's gourmand

This scent is reminiscent of a sour patch kid, just a sweet and sour fruity candy scent. Very nostalgic of childhood candy scent. If your like gourmand candy smells you will like this.

This smells like Escada Magnetism with less patchouli and more airiness. Im surprised no one has named it. I really love this scent. It’s not blatantly sweet, more of a scent cloud.

Opens into an inviting, fluffly, almost cotton candy-like yumminess that is divine and dries down into a warm sexy ambery hug. Decent wear time and I wear this year round.

There's so much going on. To my nose, this is more fruity/floral sweet, and not a yummy marshmallow-y sweet. And I totally blind brought this because of the marshmallow note, I was expecting it to be straight forward. but thats not as strong as id like it to be. The marshmallow acts as a support, I think, to give it that "fluffy" and "powdery" aroma scent profile. The fruity aspect is that there is definitely a Sour Patch Kids vibe going on here! I can literally detect the "sour" in sour patch kids. There's also something "tart" smelling? Like shock tarts or sweet tarts? It must be the dewey pear mixed with the florals. Over all, this isn't what I was expecting, being a marshmallow scent lover, I wanted it to be the star of the show, and it's not..I also expected this to be typically/traditionally sweet and it's not that either! Not so much sweet as is it fruity, and the lasting power is 5 hours max if I over spray. The first 30 minutes it starts to sit close to skin, and becomes intimate. Yes this is a good fragrance, but no I will not repurchase... only because the marshmallow is being modest.

This is sweet but not in an incredibly gourmand way. This is like the grown up version of "Pink Sugar" and with more complexity and depth. Personally this is an easy reach for me on days when I want to smell on the sweeter side but still stay casual for daytime activities. It is an easy wear. It is not overly exciting but it is gentle and appropriate for casual dates, brunch with the girls, the office, or perhaps right out of the shower to smell amazing. The lasting power is not the best, but it settles down into a perfect skin scent. I spray on skin and clothes which makes it last longer. Side note: My father, who absolutely hates perfumes, noticed this smell and commented that it smells like sweet tobacco and almonds - but in a good way. However he didn't know it was a perfume, we were walking and he thought he smelled something in the air and tried to figure out what it was. He was quite surprised when I said it was me! That's right, dad. I smell great!

I was afraid this would smell too sugary gourmand for me, but I was pleasantly surprised that it's more of a fruity sweet smell. Like others have noted, it's a fruity candy, not a vanilla baked good. The pear and ambrette pair nicely together. Still, Sweet seemed a bit too young for me (and I'm only 29). I gave it to my younger sister (in her early 20s) and she adores it. EDIT: I found myself missing this scent and grabbed another sample. I do really like it, but since testing both Glossier You and God is a Woman, I have to say Sweet is almost like a mixture of the two. I'm still unsure as to if I'd buy a full bottle of Sweet because I find myself thinking I would rather just wear Glossier You.

So very light but at least the scent lingers all day! The pear and marshmallow notes are prominent, and the ambrette was a bit overwhelming in the opening but thankfully calms down. Didn't really pick up on any other notes, but that could be because it's so faint. I definitely understand the Swedish fish resemblance, but it's more sophisticated than that imo - like a candied pear. Perfect for a warm spring day, I could see it get cloying in high heat. I like it a lot but I'm not sure it's worth the high price for such an intimate fragrance - I have a rollerball so maybe in spray form it performs better. EDIT I popped the rollerball out to use as a dabber, still very weak. Bummer!

I definitely like it but it's not the most complex. It smells just like the title... sweet! Very pleasant, although it has a slight hairspray vibe. Reminds me a little bit of D&G The Only One, which is also super sweet and shares some of the same notes. This is definitely pleasant but I don't feel it has a niche quality. I would classify this as a crowdpleaser and if you like sweet, feminine scents, then I don't see how you wouldn't like this. I'm not wowed enough by it to spend the money though. You can get a similar effect from a cheaper designer perfume.

This smells the best in heat maybe better in falls heat. It has definitely been done before I just can’t put my finger on which exact scent this is a copy of. I just know that I already own it and wore it out of style awhile ago. It’s not bad, but it’s not what I expected. It has a thickness to it that Paris Hilton’s can can fragrances have. Used to smell bomb but now it’s outdated. It may become desirable after a couple years. I need to miss it first. TIL then I’ll kindly tuck this away til I rediscover it once again somewhere down the line.

my god. i got this as a little rollerball in a set and i put it on my wrists, collarbones and under my ears today the way i normally do. immediately realized that was too much for a first try. it's, for lack of a better word, a very cute fragrance. bright and juicy, and once it wore off to where i didn't gag i really love it. i'll be more conservative in my application. as for longevity, it's been about 12 hours and i still smell pear and marshmallow. i plan on wearing this for easter, because it basically makes me smell like a peep. 8.5/10.

Very pretty fragrance...sweet, but not overwhelmingly so.. Ellis Brooklyn makes perfumes that need a heavy hand and frequent reapplication. That said, I like this one. I'm interested to discover what I can layer this with. I'm thinking it would match well with my Jasmine Dentelle. Not sure if it's FB worthy yet, as the performance is subpar but this one is quickly growing on me. I'm a big fan of heliotrope and I can pick that up. Sweet without being juvenile. Shocked how this is growing on me! I believe it to be a summer scent overall.

Sweet is definitely, well, sweet! The pear is very crisp and fresh in the opening, with a ripe fruit kind of sweetness and some light florals peaking through (though not much, I wouldn't call this a true fruity-floral). The marshmallow dry down is pillowy and soft. It's a nice sweet scent that doesn't feel cloying or heavy for the summer, the only downside is that she's here for a good time, not a long time. Turned into a skin scent after maybe an hour and then was gone on me entirely within 2-2.5 hours.

As I've seen one other person mention, this smells like Escada Magnetism! It's such a nostalgic scent for me—I wore Magnetism in my senior year of high school in 2006—that I don't know how objective I can be about whether it is "good "or "bad." It is very sweet and juicy; it reminds me of a "going out" fragrance, something to be worn at night in cold weather, something you'd smell on a scarf later. I won't buy it, but it does make me want to pick up another bottle of Magnetism. It's a pure nostalgia hit.

It’s like smelling a soft pink cloud. Immediately Born in Roma came to mind. I compared the two. BIR is distinctly more fruity with a hint of rose. EB’s Sweet is very soft, similar to something you would wear to be after applying lotion. The projection is very quiet. It could honestly pass off as the smell of shampoo after you take a shower, not really a perfume sort of projection in my opinion. Given the price point, I wouldn’t buy a full bottle unless it was on sale.

This doesn't last long on me but I do find myself reaching for it when I need to feel comforted. There's something kind of earthy in the basenotes that differentiates this from a, say, Pink Sugar-type fragrance. Also, once I was wearing this and smelled my wrist at the exact same time that I sipped an iced black coffee from Dunkin Donuts and the taste/scent combo was absolutely amazing. If I had any coffee scents, I'd try layering. Just a tip, if that's your thing!

The first thing that impressed me was how realistic the pear note hits in the opening. You can almost taste the gritty pear flesh in full ripeness. The initial pear smell is not long lasting though. It quickly dies down and you are left with a very sweet but fresh smell. The marshmallow gives a soft creaminess but it's not "sticky-sweet." In fact it smells clean and a bit shampoo-like. I think this is a very fun, fresh smell. Nice, casual, and sweet.

i bought this as my first self bought perfume, it's a good starter, soft, fresh, cute, and not too strong. The best way to use is out of the shower, to smell great the whole day, if the perfume lasts that long. It doesn't last long which I don't like but as a first it is very great to me as I hate flowery and too strong perfume. When you spray it, it smells like pear, with a side sour drift, I wish this lasted longer because I love the pear.

I don’t get the Swedish Fish everyone is referring to. Instead, i get a slightly sweet musk. It’s all i get really. I pair this with If you musk and i find them to go very well together. This fragrance performs great on me in summer but i also enjoy wearing it when i wanna smell clean. If you’re able to sample this, i highly recommend as this is definitely not blind safe. I’m not in love with it but i do enjoy it. Won’t repurchase tho.
