Crown

This really reminds me of how Armani Code Profumo smells on my skin, especially the opening. It starts with an almost root beer smell then becomes more of a citrusy scent with some hints of spice/warmth. I’d wear this in most settings and seasons. I’d recommend this especially for the price. It lasts maybe 4 hours which isn’t horrible, and it can be smelt maybe .5-1 foot away for that time. 10/10 for the price, it can be found at discount stores as well as online which is nice. I’d say it’s worth picking up, especially if you’re looking for something under $20.

So easy to wear. It’s a cheap smell fresh fragrance. For 20$ u can’t beat it. Longevity sucks but it’s a British brand and like their cars the reliability sucks. Easy dumb reach for a fresh smell Edit: oh my was I wrong this stuff lasted a whole night. Put it on at 9 PM to test for shits and giggles and woke up at 5 AM with it still smelling on my arm. It was a skin scent by then but goly English Laundry yall cooked here

Strong Lavender and Cardamom smell with a hint of apple and lemon at the top, suprisingly good performance on my skin (8-9 hours) and projects for around 1.5-2 hours. The drydown isnt bad at all, as it keeps some aspect of lavender and sits at this nice spicy aromatic musk for the remainder of the scent. Addicting, and worth the <$20 price point for sure.

This smells so good as it reminds me of Azzaro wanted, but better! It projects about one to two hours and the longevity is between 4 to 6 hours. The lemon and the apple scent in this just smells so good. I bought a bottle for $12.99 from TJMaxx and loved it so much, I bought a back up. Great, non-offensive scent for the office or just casual wear. 8/10

Wow! I have alot to say about this cologne that's for sure. So, to start off the smell is impeccable it felt like a warm spring day, blossoms rising and such oh this cologne is just so splendid. To add on this cologne smells very much like the mosque I go to definetly would recommend.

This is 100% Azzaro Wanted. You can usually find Azzaro Wanted so cheap I don't know if it's worth going out of your way to get this but it does smell very good, I'd call it an exact clone.

Tried it in TJ Marx and is a much weaker clone of Azzaro Wanted by Night. Washed my hands and it's still there. For the price, try it if you want to sample Azzaro Wanted.

This is a nice fragrance for a day at home or a trip to the gas station, very casual but gets compliments about freshness. Very good price value.

#707 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Immediate wave of nostalgia for the 90's. The tunes of the Scorpions in the background and my hot choreographer girlfriend stretching out for some....never mind. I had some good years living in the OC, and what reminds me of them immediately is the smell of a '90's Gucci fragrance. I was promoted and transferred to the East Coast. She married the owner of a very lucrative HVAC company and moved to a 10,000 sq ft McMansion in Black Saddle. Good for her. She was awesome. And so were Gucci "Envy for Men" and Gucci "Pour Homme." Whoever controlled the Gucci licenses at the time both "Envy" and 2003 version of "Pour Homme" were killed off (Coty? Kering? Only the lawyers can keep track.) both were a horrible mistake, as Gucci has produced nothing close since. They should have developed EDPs and Parfums of both. They were perfect! And as proof, look at all the popular fragrances today using that "throw in everything but the kitchen sink, oh Hell, throw that in too" approach to men's fragrances, that as far as I can remember began with Jacques Bogart's 13 note 1975 "Bogart", a scent I still wear on occasion, and took the train off the rails with his wonderful 1980 "One Man Show" with 26 notes (I recommend the whole "One Man Show" line, especially the original and the Gold Edition, if you can be content with a good performing EDT). Gucci followed Bogart 20 years later with 26 notes in Gucci "Pour Homme." 20 notes in "Envy". Even PDM's "Layton" only has 13. Other's have this vibe. Azzaro's "Wanted." Paco Rabanne's "Invictus" and Invictus "Legend", but they are mere shadows by comparison. Clearly English Laundry went down that "all or nothing" path with this 18 note fragrance and it's likeable. It's good to go for the warm weather today. Lots of fruit and florals on the top end, all the good stuff on the bottom. Does come off a little "fresh laundry" on the dry down, so I'd resist the urge to overspray that comes with all these nice top notes. It's inexpensive, but as is the case with all the English Laundry scents I've purchased, and most non-Middle Eastern scents marketed as an EDP, it's pretty much just above EDT level performance, as one expects at this price. So take that into consideration. It's inoffensive, car pool, elevator safe, appropriate for office wear, but for junior associates. It doesn't scream "cheap", but I still wouldn't wear it into the C-suite (Dior Sauvage Parfum only if you're wearing cufflinks). A safe blind buy at the price.

This fragrance isn't bad and it actually gained me 2 compliments as soon as I bought it since I sprayed it before checking out however it doesn't last long (ranges from 2-3 hours on my skin). This is also one of those fragrances that you can really only find in rack stores for $15 dollars and pray to God they have them in the future which is a really big ask and you'll hardly find another one after some time or go online and spend an arm and a leg for essentially a low tier clone. For that simple fact although I like it I'd recommend to stay away from it because if you fall in love with it, it will be almost hardly impossible to find it again for a reasonable price. I've not tried Azzaro Wanted but as soon as I run out of this, I'm gonna buy that instead and the Layton remind me of section I can see it as it has that same crisp spicy note Layton has but dies down after 30ish minutes. Edit: 2/24/24 This does NOT smell like Azzaro Wanted. This stays that bubblegum smell (kinda like Azzaro Wanted opening) but doesn't have that gross smoky / musky dry down that Azzaro Wanted has.

Good value scent. In Ontario, Canada, this can be bought at a low price in pharmacies. This is a suitable place for Crown which smells like an updated version of my grandpa's after shave which he also bought from pharmacies during the twentieth century (Skin Bracer). Linear, I can sense notes of lavender, herbs and moss with some fruity notes popping up. I wear this when I want nostalgia. This is really good for the 3 hrs it sticks around for and good for the office all year round except for the hottest and coolest days (where I live that's 30 degrees +/- freezing).

A very inoffensive, versatile fragrance. Nothing to write home about, but its blends in very well in any sort of social setting, which makes it a great casual scent. The opening is very fruity-sweet, fresh and more on the feminine side, but it dries down into warm-spicy and more masculine. Overall, it's sweet in a mature way that blends into herbal, it's a bit soapy, and it feels very clean and proper. Sadly it doesnt leave much of a trail and doesnt stay too long so I keep having to re-apply, but for that price, you don't feel too bad about using that much.

It is a nice Fruity and Spicy Aristocratic Scent. Based on English Laundry Site, this is For Men and is not Unisex ! It opens up with like fresh fruity, citrusy, green , floral and spicy notes in the background then dry down is semi sweet Ambery and Musky, Crown is perfect for the spring, fall and winter, I like Crown EDP FOR Men by English Laundry. Longevity is good. Rating : 7.5 / 10

Bought it for $15.99 USD at Marshall’s and I’d say that’s top dollar for the fragrance. Not that it’s a bad fragrance but it opens rather harshly and quickly dries down to base notes of musk, amber and patchouli, making a fairly simple fragrance for its 3-4 hour life. It’s a good evening fragrance year round. You could easily overdo it for the opening though, so be careful.

This is a nice "apple pie" scent (in a similar style to Layton). You will probably get better performance from other Layton clones (I personally prefer Lalique White In Black) if you can spend a little bit more. But for the price you can pick this one up at from TJ Maxx or Burlington, it is a really good value if you don't mind re-applying later in the day.

This smells closer to Coach for Men than any of the “Smells like” listed. It’s really nice. Fresh, Sweet, Fruity, slight powdery. Smells nothing like Azzaro Wanted or invictus at all. Definitely not Armani Code Profumo.

7/10 for a $15 TJ maxx blind buy I'd call it a success. Would I re purchase? Yeah probably since it was so cheap. 4 hr max on the longevity, and it doesn't project much further then your immediate bubble

super fruity opening for me, and dries down to a very fresh powdery smell. big fan of it, but can sometimes be a little bit much and the drydown can give me headaches. definitely a more mature scent.

To me smells like Invictus mixed with smarties. Very bubblegum sweet daily scent for younger fellas. Doesn’t smell like Layton.. maybe some cheap knockoffs lol. Kinda reminds me of hawas.

it's really sweet and a pleasant sent but I didn't get more than 3-4 hours of performance out of this fragrance. still very worth it if you can find it at a local tjmaxx for under 20!

Azzaro Wanted EDT Is One Of My Favorite Scents. This Is The Same But Azzaro Lasts Longer For Sure. I Have Both, If You Dont Care About Crazy Performancr You Cant Beat The Crown Price.

Apple, ginger, lavender and something very green and slightly mossy, good one. Still faint but better projection than most. 2nd fav of the house actually.

No doubt this is Azzaro Wanted. From the sweet apple/Tonka opening to the sweet tonka/lavender dry down. I don’t hate on Wanted like most others...so this is a thumbs up for me. Fall, winter and spring...casual fun occasions. Longevity is below average. Projection is average. If you can find this for less that $20, it could be a nice purchase. The issue is that the OG is so inexpensive....and does perform better in every way.

Sharp synthetic citrus opening that is very harsh and mellows out quickly. The dry-down is a bit easier on the nose, but can very easily be overshadowed by any other scents/fragrances you may be wearing or layering with it. Moderate sillage for 2-3 hours but then completely died out for me. English Laundry's Armour lasted longer and provided more intensity in the base notes.

For English Laundry and at discounters pricing then its a great deal. As of today its showing to be similar to Azzaro Wanted. Which I also have. I can say that its pretty spot on with the English laundry being just a bit more sweet and abrasive than the Azzaro's more citrusy take in the opening. However if you have one then you don't need the other.

My son came home with a bottle from Marshall's and it's great for what it is. Doesn't last all that long but smells bad when he over sprays it, there's a nice middle ground to find. For a teenage boy it's perfect and at only $15 it's hard to beat. 5/10.

It's a pleasant apple scent. Isn't very powerful or long lasting. I got it cheap at Burlington. If you can get it cheap not a bad buy.

This is your Grandpa's cologne. If you still have some youthful years ahead, maybe steer clear of this. This was a blind buy for me, and this has now found its way to the very back of my collection. I'm unsure if I could even gift this to my 60-year-old Father as I believe he is still far too youthful for this scent. Possibly this could be for one attempting to convey maturity, but even your elders will be convinced you broke into Grandpa's stash.

I got this when I was still blind buying my frags at Nordstrom rack at the start of my fragrance journey (with input from the Fragrantica community, of course!). I liked it on the first couple of wears; but eventually, I gave this to a friend, and he really enjoys it. It makes me super nauseous/gives me a headache and I'm not usually queasy. You may love it, but I would've thrown it away. I don't know what they were going for, it's fruity and musky with this sickeningly fake sweetness, yuck. I hate this fragrance more than anything else I have sampled since.

I don't get it. At first, it smells ok, but when it dries down, it becomes a messy powdery overdose and it gives me a headache. It is by far the worst fragrance from English Laundry I tried.

Smells like OG Azzaro Wanted which I don't like either but this is a bit worse. It's cloying and induces headaches for me. 0/10

It's got a very strong citrus and fresh fruit opening. It then dries down to sweet baking spices, powder and lavender. Though sweet, it is a pleasant mild sweetness and nowhere near as strong as the current popular crop of modern fresh and sweet fragrances. It's actually pretty refreshing as a cologne. The very affordable price point just sweetens the deal, pun intended. Unfortunately, Crown shares the same weakness that is common to the English Laundry line -- weak performance. Longevity, sillage and projection are poor and it definitely requires both overspraying just to get a proper level of performance to start off with and then respraying as the day continues. Expect to use more than the average cologne. To be fair, many designer and niche fragrances have the same issue and are far more expensive. This weakness is offset somewhat by the fact that the English Laundry line is so affordable and easier to replenish. As long as you understand this necessity and adjust accordingly, this is a very good cologne and a great deal that punches above its weight. That's true of the entire English Laundry line.

I always thought this smelled very similar to azzaro wanted, which it kinda does, but reading these comments I figured out what it was reminding me of, LAYTON! They definitely were going for a Layton you can tell by their website describing it as “bringing freshness and sweetness together” which in the community is what Layton is popular for. Great quality for 20$ at Nordstrom rack, performance is solid at the minimum.

This cologne is litteraly 100% same smell as Azzaro Wanted. It is a nice rich smell which lasts decently long, I get a strong hint of pear or green apple, but it is still a darker more masculine scent. Good for fall and early winter. If you are trying to decide between Azzaro Wanted and Crown, just go with whatever is cheaper as they project the same and smell IDENTICAL. 4/5

This cologne is pretty decent, although after a while the first and second one smelled funky or different, likely because i often walk with it in the heat, but in general it is good for its price, and it does smell really expensive, but it might age poorly from experience. You should be able to find one in discount stores or from the same brand at least.

Bought this a few weeks ago and kept thinking, "Damn, this smells familiar." Couldn't pinpoint it until now. This is what I recall Gucci Pour Homme smelling like when I was in high school circa 1980s. Any OGs willing to testify?

This smells like super high end laundry detergent, it smells so fresh & clean! this is my early morning errand running scent! This is a pretty gud cheapie to add for random errand running.

Currently found at TJMAX for $12.99 (100ml) Gave it a try in-store and it’s SICKENINGLY SWEET.

Headache inducing on the drydown! Nauseating also! Even for $20 not worth it
