English Laundry Signature for him

Clean... Fresh... This fragrance is for Gentlemen... I am fast becoming a fan of the English Laundry fragrances. I have all but Notting Hill. I had purchased Signature a few days ago and tried it for the first time today. Wow, I am pleasantly surprised. This fragrance is easy on the nose and is a "safe" fragrance for those of us who work in an office environment looking not to offend those with a more sensitive nose. Out of the bottle, Signature is a blast of clean citrus that settles somewhat to skin level with musk and woodsy notes. It is classy type of fragrance that is meant for Gentlemen - with tailored suit and tie - but offers that flexibility that, to repeat, Gentlemen can wear with those comfortable jeans and a designer shirt. Further, it is the kind of fragrance that can be worn any time of year, either day or night, and any occasion. The only requirement - it is for Gentlemen... I fully expect the English Laundry fragrances to increase in popularity - the "older brother", Arrogant, is taking off and the unheard of sibling, "Tahitian Waters" ranks in my Top 5. Longevity and Projection/Sillage are moderate, but given that Signature is a Eau de Parfum, perhaps exceeding moderate level. While no compliments today from the opposite sex (a.k.a. "Wow Factor"), I have complete confidence that it is only a matter of time. Trust me - you will be noticed. In addition to the beauty of the scent, you will also admire and appreciate the classic design of the bottle and packaging. Two words - First Class..!! For those of us who want a great fragrance, but want it fairly inexpensive ('cheap' is a 'bad word' and will not be used in any of my reviews..), the only downside of the English Laundry fragrances is that these are on the upper end of that price range for me. Yeah, I have the money to spend on a great fragrance - I am trying to save $$$ to get that convertible... You know the deal - looking good and smelling good... My final rating for English Laundry Signature is 4.5 stars out of 5. This rating comes with a solid recommendation to add to your collection. The Daily I.M. - "It is OK that you get lost sometimes - as long as you can always find your true self... Be happy who you are..."

This scent was an instant love for me and after all this time of collecting frags it takes a lot to wow me. To get this out of the way, no this doesn’t smell like Le Male but instead it smells similar to the scents that smell similar to Le Male( Cuba Gold,Fujiyama Gentlemen, and 212 Sexy Men) Even though Signature is similar to all those in my opinion this is easily the superior scent out of the bunch. On its own, this scent has 3 stages. It opens up very bright,sparkling light,fresh and airy but then once it dries down in the mid this starts to get really nice and smooth when the citrus fades and the lavender and cedar make this more masculine, and smooth. Then once this dries down it goes from being airy and smooth to creamy and smooth when your left with a beautiful blend of lavender,cedar and amber. This scent is divine and is very sexy,elegant,appealing,and professional smelling ! Sidenote— first day I wore this I got 3 compliments and the last compliment was 7 hours after application. Performance- this projects well(Not beastly) for 1 hr and a half hours and then lasts 8-12 hours. Overall rating-8.5 out of 10 ! Very sexy scent that’s also elegant and has great performance,gets compliments and at a very good price as well 1 thing I love about English Laundry is yes they clone scents but they always do a better job at the original scent and don’t just do a cheap smelling imitation.

I remember smelling a bit of Versace The Dreamer directly from the atomizer for the first time and thinking it smelled awesome. I then proceeded to spray it on my arm. That opening was not so pleasant to me, unfortunately. The tobacco was just a bit too harsh and sweet. I ended up buying myself a bottle, though, because I loved that far dry down so much. Fast forward to when I first smelled this and I instantly fell in love (opening and all). While it’s not an exact dupe of The Dreamer, it still sort of encapsulates the best aspects of it into its own scent. I’m also sure that Signature takes inspiration from other scents, too (definitely at least a little bit from Le Male), but I like to think of it as what I always was wanting from The Dreamer all along. As for the scent itself, it’s very lavender and sandalwood heavy. I can see why people have compared it to soap or detergent, but I think that that’s a little reductive. It’s still very appealing and accessible and isn’t really tied down that much by its older fashioned sensibility. I also get fairly decent longevity, although I probably overspray it by one or two sprays. I was probably still smelling it after about 6 hours, but it was pretty close to the skin at that point. All around love for me. Can’t get enough of it, honestly.

Clean Lather of Soapy Sandalwood, Lavender & Nutmeg with White-Musk... The first thing that struck me about this scent was the gorgeous woods that have a faint hint of sweetness. This isn't an exact clone of anything, but there's a lot of similarities to Le Male Jean Paul Gaultier, and this likely qualifies as a dupe. In the first couple of minutes I can feel the woody aromatics from lavender & cedar with a hint of citrus, and already a musk that leans to white-musk is swelling through. As the sillage starts to open up there is wonderful spicy diffusion of nutmeg & coriander. Nutmeg is more forward here than the notes would suggest, and its delicate spiciness is projected by the musk. As it starts to dry down I get a creamy sandalwood that's worked into a soapy lather by the nutmeg & lavender. The overall result is a soft & wearable white-musk & creamy sandalwood scent, accented by lavender & nutmeg. I've loved this scent from the first spray. This has average or slightly above average performance but the softer scent profile might feel weak to some. Anyone could wear this. It's a love for me. Enjoy!

This stuff is kick-arse! Without a doubt my new favourite. I have never smelt anything quite like EL Signature or Arrogant before. Signature is just an amplified version of Arrogant. They remind me of my classrooms as a little boy...that musty smell of the classroom, books, the library, old furniture, even of the teachers. These fragrances scream conservative traditional values, decency, smartness, education and respectability. I liken their character to dark blue Italian pin stripe suits, a beautiful English manor estate, posh crocodile skin luggage, a Rolls Royce or Jaguar parked in the gravel drive and a bottle of fine champagne waiting in an ice bucket sat on a round cast-iron outdoor table on the terrace. Or maybe the silence and atmosphere of the inside of a dark, cool, secluded, centuries-old church, library or cathedral. Signature is quintessentially English.

Picked it up for 12 dollars at TjMaxx, sprayed it on my hand really loved it and came back to buy it a little after that. In my personal experience this is a dude magnet. All of my friends complimented it on me and were asking me to give it to them, I peronally loved it too. My mom (she's the only woman who smelled it on me as what she said traumatized me into not wearing it) literally said it's so f-cking bad I have to go take a shower asap or disappear from the house. I don't know if it's only her, but I am literally scared to put it on myself. Even though this is weirdly one of my most complimented fragrances, even though it's always men who compliment it which is cool but not what I am looking for.

I absolutely love this fragrance.This is the one that got me into fragrances and it is one of my favorites.Basically my signature scent.As of this post I dont have many bottles of fragrance but this one is the best. I have other english laundry fragrances and I love them too, plan too get as many of them as I can. Back to signature, its manly,seductive,sexy,gourmand,and something a man would wear who gets things done and will attract people while doing it. I will love this as long as I'm alive and it will always be in my collection.This is a definent buy if you see it around at discounters. projection is decent longetivity is good In terms of the scent, 92/100 Signature as a whole, 84/100

Its one of my favorites. Its not a bomb but it lasts for about 5 hours and projects for up to 2. I got it for 12.99 at marshals and the smell is so good. I do not however see the similarities to le male or cuba gold at all. I think its 100% a safe blind buy. It does not last long like how some of us like but the scent is great. This is not one of those since the price is cheap this is worth it, no this is worth it because it smells great and the fact that you can find it cheap is just the benefit of it. Once this corona thing is over if i see more at marshals i'm buying a back up bottle.

Just picked this up at Nordstrom's in Chicago. It's a very clean (English Laundry? of course it's clean!), spicy, woody, and overall classic but unique Oriental fragrance. I'd say it's a safe scent, but in a good way... nothing offensive about it, not huge with projection but definitely respectable (this is a good thing in my opinion...choking out an entire room with a scent is never appreciated), great longevity, and nothing of what some might call "common" or "synthetic" either. Definitely a memorable scent that is as good for every day as a night out. Absolutely love it.

S-tier fragrance. This is clean like freshly laundered clothes, but also sensual and rugged. This is the quintessential every man fragrance. Inoffensive but alluring. The unsung hero here is the vetiver. Which you can only really appreciate by over applying. Something I encourage. Ubiquitous but under appreciated this one. *Note-I believe this has been reformulated recently. Newer batches seem to have way too much citrus in them. Makes it smell like bathroom cleaner. Look for bottles with only 4 or 5 ingredients listed. Unnecessary, unfortunate and disappointing.

Everyone says this about everything, but this really is the best cheap soapy scent available. In fact, the smell punches into Prada territory Comparisons to Le Male? Maybe 10%. More like Versace the Dreamer.The base of this smells like high end luxury soap. Performance is atrocious and you will need to spray 10 to 20 times for any projection. Your bottle will go fast, but this frag is great. I wish they would make an extrait version because this is not an EDP that's for sure. It perfoms like an aftershave. Scent 9.7/10 Performance 1/10

this fragrance was one of the first I ever purchased and I still love it after growing my collection. I love the sweet lavender barbershop smell of it that sticks throughout. it's longevity is great I get 7-8 hours and I don't need to bathe in it either. it's my signature scent and a very easy dumb reach although I think it smells quite unique and it's definitely the best English laundry scent out there. if you can find it at tjmaxx or another discounter for 25$ or less absolutely get it!

I got this for my husband a few years ago, and I definitely think it is a lavender-musk bomb. There's some sandalwood and a hint of citrus, but the freshness and slight astringency of the musk-lavender combo are the main things I smell on him. It's got monster sillage, so this one is not for the faint of heart in my opinion. It smells nice, clean, fresh, but a step up from Axe body spray or something. The bottle is very luxurious given the price, and all you'd need is one or two sprays.

Really enjoy Signature. As others have stated this is very much a gentlemanly, borderline barbershop scent. It is inoffensive enough for work, but sufficiently interesting to wear out. Don't expect groundbreaking, but it is nice and unique enough to merit addition to most people's wardrobe. good longevity...a couple of squirts should last you the day. The English Laundry line as a whole is beginning to impress with their offerings.

Wow, I’m amazed at the different reviews for me this has descent sillage and logivity has a real nice barber smell, non offensive and pretty much fits all occasions I cann see younger guys who love the newer sweet syrup like fragrances like 1 Million or Invictus might not like this bot for the mature man with a great attitude and a wallet full of money and a beautiful wife on his arm, this is a home run.

I love this stuff. Such a great signature scent! The lavender is beautiful smelling! Reminds me of Cuba gold which I also love but it’s more mature and well rounded. I got one of the originals before the reformation. Lasts about 7-8 hours. Silage is minimal but it’s an everyday office/around the house scent. I also got the body wash with mine. I love this profile. Simple but done right.

Ever since I started wearing cologne, which honestly wasn’t that long ago, I’ve been trying to find a lavender fragrance I really love without much success. I finally found it with English Laundry Signature for Him. It’s a very clean smell, almost soapy. I suppose it even smells of laundry. I get a decent amount of compliments when wearing this but I wear it mostly for my own pleasure.

This is a great value. I prefer Arrogant which despite its name seems like a more subdued version of this. Soapy, Smokey, One toe in the water of the Barbershop pool. I wouldn't exactly put it in the barbershop scent class but I wouldn't correct anybody from calling it that either. A great scent that I'd put in the $25ish bracket. Pretty safe blind buy but probably not for everyone.

Very clean, not a lot of people know of EL brand; which makes it better when asked what I'm wearing, this one smells different from the other English Laundry except for arrogant which is close with more citrus. It does project but people do not smell you coming down the hall. Similar to the Prada line of fragrances. Clean, lavender, fresh and a light citrus smell

What a surprise. I bought this to add to my collection and it only cost me 20 dollars for the 100ml bottle. Thinking this would be a mediocre buy I wasn't expecting much until I actually sprayed some when I arrived home. What a scent... It nearly took my breath away. Out of all my collection this would easily rank in my top three. A budget masterpiece.
