Otello

Otello is stunning. What I get on my skin with Otello is primarily cacao powder (not cocoa or chocolate but red cacao powder), with a heavy dose of dark honey which gives it a bit of a boozy character. The cardamon and pepper are present in the opening but just play supporting roles and give the opening a spicy kick. If you’re familiar with Abuelita Mexican hot chocolate you know it’s not milky or lactonic like regular hot chocolate , it reminds me of that with extra dried red pepper powder and a hint of cardamon. Underneath all these the hazelnut is present but barely. This is not a nutty fragrance by any means. In the mid to dry down, the vanilla comes through, as more oily vanilla pods, similar to what you would get if you were to crush them between your fingers. The driftwood also plays a supporting role as there is a hint of woodiness grounding the fragrance. I don’t detect any patchouli to be honest. The overall effect is a sweet, rich, boozy, cacao vanilla fragrance. It is perfectly unisex but on the sweeter side. It smells sophisticated, rich, and beautiful. Projection: Solid. I’d say 2-3 feet for the first 3 hours then you have a nice scent bubble. Longevity: 7-8 hours. Volume: 90 mL— ignore that little 100 mL on the box. Several bottles have been shown to only have about 90 mL.

Gorgeous - feels to me like it takes from the best of vintage Angel, adds clarity and radiance without dwelling too deeply in the patchouli and overlays it with something like Ani giving it a spicy gingery/warm start with a citrus polish that adds some light and doesn’t head into fruit or cleaning product territory. She then settles into cocoa dust, a rich crispy amber with spices and a heavy dose of vanilla. This is really gorgeous. Wearing your favourite sweater, peeling a couple of the juiciest clementines and then sipping a hot spicy cocoa on a damn cold day, cupped between your hands that you are reluctant to put down. This!

Beautifully smooth cacao and hazelnut note. You can kind of get a hint of all the different notes in this one, but no matter what note you smell, whether it's patchouli, hazelnut, cardamom, etc. it gets this very natural cacao-body which adds an interesting depth to it. Ideal fragrance for a christmas-get-together, or a a cold evening whether you're outside or in

Surprised just how good this is....a very well balaced Gourmand, which goes in a almost "boozy" direction after 20minutes. There is no boozy notes in it but I get a Amber smell that gives off a rum type smell...I'm guessing its the mix of Patchouli/honey at the base....Wasnt expecting much but tried a sample and had to get a full bottle.

I love this one so much, it’s delectable! A warm, sticky gourmand, I get spicy cocoa, vanilla and patchouli. Great longevity. It’s my go to fall and winter scent.
