Explosive

A pleasant blind buy! I was half expecting some brassy '80s nightmare' a la Poison. I got the 'EDT natural spray'. At first spray on the back of my hand, I thought this was very very weak - :( - but nice, and wondered what the EDP would be like. Have just had a proper wear on neck and wrists and what a difference! Must be the increased skin oils - now it is much stronger and longer lasting and the initial 'fizziness' turns to what I would almost call a 'rubbered rose'. I'm wondering if this might be best applied fresh out of bath or shower, with extra clean skin? It's the fizzy bit I like the best but seeing that I gave away my Diva and Cabaret, and only have the sparkly AP now which I don't wear too often, there was a hole in my wardrobe for a dusky rose frag that is now filled again. I have and love La Perla and don't find a similarity with this but Explosive does remind me of Ungaro Diva so if you like that you'd probably like this, just be aware of the possibility of a bit of added rubber tyre! Update: I wore this out and about in the cold air today and I got a strong smell of violet leaf from it, although that is not listed (ahaaaaa! it's the orris root apparently)? I also think this is a very Christmassy scent! UPDATE, 13.02.13 - I'm wearing this every day and falling more and more in love with it! This perfume is a beautiful chameleon and a flower that just keeps unfolding its many coloured petals. What a find - I got it real cheap on Ebay - makes up for many stinkers. :) UPDATE, 26/03/13. Still in love with this. Applied it today and there was this animal/body/skin undertone smell that rose from it - so me and so comforting. My husband sidled up to me tonight and said 'mmm what's that smell, it's like jasmine incense or something'. He never usually notice or comments on perfume and anything incensey is even more of a winner for me! imo, Explosive is a masterpiece, must stockup/backup soon.

AN immediate hit in the face with sweet, sweet rose. When I first smelled this I thought it was going to be way too floral and powdery for me, but after about half an hour the rose eases (though never leaves) and the powder completely disappears which brings this perfume out of cloying territory and lets the woodsy spice scents in the base notes start to shine. My favorite time with this perfume is after I've had it on for two hours or so. The moss, wood, and spice dominate at that point, and turn an initially overwhelming floral into something complex and sweetly earthy & musky. Wear time is *long* and sillage is HUGE, don't wear in an office or otherwise enclosed space you're going to be for a long time. Love it for a night out though, and all the compliments I get come after that drydown time I mentioned above. I find this blends super well with my natural scent, but I would NOT recommend this one as a blind buy unless you know you love the base notes together and are confident walking around leaving everyone you pass wondering what you're wearing. Also, if you really really love it (which i do) spraying a down duvet with this before putting on a cover results in literal months of delicious scent. Blasphemous usage, I know, but worth it if you live by your own rules.

A very spicy, dark, almost a little incense-y rose; something you'd imagine on Morticia Addams, or a classically ageless English lady with at least six tragically and mysteriously predeceased husbands. Which is... very much not me, but I try to do it justice, anyway. I swiped my mother's vintage bottle (who got it as a gift sometime in ages past but vastly prefers pure rose perfumes at least an order of magnitude more expensive than this) and am going to get myself a backup before they start becoming rarer. This is pretty much my ideal rose chypre, and with some luck it'll be a faithful companion for many years of special evenings. Sillage and longevity are strong and my nose severely objects to this being oversprayed (not because it doesn't smell good in large amounts, which it does, but because the sheer spiciness of it is physically irritating); this is not an issue if it's used carefully. The scent takes a minute to settle and wake up the florals; over time, it develops an almost incense-like undercurrent that lurks beneath the rose and is extremely appealing. Definitely an evening perfume, and one with a strong personality - but if you enjoy a slightly earthy, spicy, incense-y explosion of rose, this is a great one.

This perfume literally blew me away. It was instant love and I immediately bought a FB. Impetuous I know but it's 'that good'. Damask rose in the initial spritz is so lovely, so sweet and very fresh. Sometimes rose can be bitter or a little powdery with a vintage Elizabethan vibe, but this is soft and gentle. Bergamot freshens the fragrance without adding too much of a citrusy note and please don't be put off by the aldehydes. They are calming and just enhance the beauty of this perfume. This wonderful perfume shape shifts continuously but retains its beauty throughout. It doesn't lose the sweetness of the rose, nor does it ever become herbal. Silage is powerful and a little goes a long way, longevity was amazing as I wore this for 8 hours+ and I could smell it continuously wafting up at me. I think this perfume will be even better in the heat of a summers day, it will become more intense, sweeter and more powerful. Explosive is a perfume for 'perfumistas', it should be savoured like a great wine and should never be abused or worn to death. This is a subtle beauty which needs to be saved for special occasions! Stunning but stunning!!

Explosive is a rare unicorn,that I heard about in the online fragrance community. So, when I saw it up for auction on Ebay, I bought it and it is just as beautiful and stunning, as I heard it was! Truly ❤. In my mind, Explosive, is a prime 1980s but also modern; chypre floral and the rose is a dusky, decadent and jammy maiden And everything about her, is so well blended. The spiciness of the coriander keeps it from being too sweet and the aldyhydes which I honestly can't detect, give the fragrance a lift and keeps the rose smelling like shes in full bloom and ripe for plucking,thus preserving her fullbodiedness. Like a good red wine. Explosive is by all accounts, a garden variety, gothic rose,that I've been searching for since I started on my perfume journey. And she isn't cloying, insipid or weak. In fact, Explosive starts out big, full of eastern promise behind black rimmed kohl lidded eyes and then dries down into a Persian rose garden where lovers, poets, dancers and artists meet under the stars, to smell the blooms. And shes all mine.

Signature scent for non-trivial ladies, absolutely mind blowing fragrance for my perception. To say I love it would be a serious underestimation. It is dark, as you can see by the bottle, it very rich coriander-y night rose, soaked in prune wine, enveloped into earthy base from moss and patchouli, its Eva Green in-fragrance-ed. Even among vintage fragrances that I have tried (so many) its very hard to find comparisons for Explosive, might be if Coriandre Couturier to mix together with some expensive niche rose fragrances, like Amouge style ones?..Something like that. Yet I guarantee that Explosive will give a hundred points ahead of any niche by longevity, depth and originality. She walks in beauty, like the night Of cloudless climes and starry skies; And all that’s best of dark and bright Meet in her aspect and her eyes; Thus mellowed to that tender light Which heaven to gaudy day denies. Apparently I have an affinity for aldehydic, mossy, geranium-rose bombs, and this one is indeed "explosive." The closest modern analog that comes to mind is Sisley Soir d'Orient, also a dark, bombastic beauty. Both feature rose with geranium, rendering the vibe more unisex courtesy to the greener, more aromatic elements of geranium as a counter-balance. The opening is a true 80s-chypre conflagration of aldehydes, accompanied by the diffusive linalool-heavy combination of coriander and bergamot (reminiscent of Jean Couturier Coriandre at this stage). Soon, this descends to florals that lay in a bed of woody, mossy, muskiness. Undoubtedly unisex, performs like a champ, but is not nearly as aggressive as the name would suggest. Consider it blissfully 'explosive.' The best from Aigner, by a country mile.

One of my youth's first self-selected "evening perfumes" and how I loved it! After my second bottle ran out, I managed to come across another bottle in a small dusty store on a back street. (This was long before the possibilities of the internet that we have today) I have guarded this third bottle as a treasure ever since! Used only on VERY special occasions! A scent that is certainly not for everyone, very special and not like nor reminiscent of anything else I have smelled before, so I have a hard time describing it. But it's definitely an evening perfume to me. Tough, cool, sexy and shameless. A fragrance suitable for a strong woman who knows what she wants and takes what she wants without asking permission. I have to try to find more bottles of this one so I can use it more often! <3

Holy Grail potent witchy brew, I love yoooooou. And I completely understand someone not liking it. It is SO strong, which I realized I need, perhaps it’s from having dry skin? I feel like I just burn things away too fast, so something like this can actually give me the experience I want of being enveloped in something that grows and billows around me, and keeps on talking as it warms up. My hoarding impulse is to not praise publicly the things I love the most, for fear of everyone else buying them up, but considering I have 3 bottles of this now, I feel safe to say this stuff is incredible. For anyone who has regretted blind buying this, message me and I will happily trade you for it.

I was so intrigued about this perfume for over 3 years. Now I own a bottle but I am also kind of disappointed. I like the smell but it's weird in a way because of my expectations . I also own the shower gel and I love it. But this, this is not heavy at all. It's indeed a dark rose...but reminds me of roses that you can make jam. Picture this.. it's morning, you're on a walk in nature after a heavy rainy night and you find a bush of wild roses..fuchsia or rose pale.. you want to pick one but the thorns stung you. It's develops nicely tho. Also the lasting power on me it's almost 6 hours... =(( The Coriander( Parfum de toilette) by JEAN COUTURIER lasts moree.

I wanted to add this fragrance to my collection for a long time. Decided to blind buy it after reading reviews and I don't regret doing so. First thing that came to my mind was the little shop in my home town that used to sell CDs and t-shirts featuring metal bands. It smelled of roses, sandalwood incense sticks and the owner's perfume - Paloma Picasso. Intense and smoky. Dark powdery roses, civet and incense - at least on my skin. Smells like an old old church filled with fresh cut roses and burning candles, wooden benches covered in dust, smoke coming from thurible.... Something to wear with black velvet dress.

Mine is old bottle with old name in it, Provocation. Although marketed as woman perfume, this is definitely unisex and somehow lean more to masculine. I like the idea of woody aromatic from woman back then, but still, this one is very different from others release in the same decade. A very deep and mysterious blend of coriander with geranium, seasoned with aldehyde, with body of powdery orris, dirty earthy vetiver, patchouli, and a slightly damp sandalwood. They rarely create this kind of scent nowadays but definitely a treasure and worth to collect.

My late mom had it and I love it. This is the smell that lingering in my mind for quite sometime, but due to not knowing the brand... I just kept it there along with the image of lovely black bottle. And then I remember the logo and I scrawl in here. Found it. I may starts to hunt this thing, but I won't let my hope too high. ........ My bad. My sister and I check our late mom wooden box. Turns out it's not explosive. Same bottle differrent name, same brand. It's called Provocation. Weird...

what a magnificant dark masterpiece. I found online at a stupidly good price and blind bought from reviews. total success. this fragrance is a mysterious concotion that reminds me of Femme Rochas but this is somewhat sweeter and the rose is prominant. the smell of the rose makes me think of a deep red one on a cool morning. the herbs are exotic and confronting. I believe this could be unisex. sillage is good. its strange... close to skin then the sillage.. different scent. very pleased!

What a beautiful spicy mossy rose! Bold, daring, a little bit dirty, dark and lazy. Incredibly slender and sleek at the same time. Doesn't smell retro, old fashioned or outdated at all. Just the opposite, it's more like an expensive niche mimicking old good classic rose chypre. Amazing quality for a very affordable price. Dark rose (soiled with vetiver and geranium), coriander and oakmoss. I love it!

This one found me! What a luck! I purchased it at 1/4 of it ́s list price and it really surprised me! As others have said it has a strong personality and the sweetness is just the right amount if you dislike very sweet fragrances. I ́ve been wearing Explosive a lot these days and I like it almost as much as Salvador Dali Pour Homme (almost). What a beautiful red, dark rose is in this perfume! <3

This is how I like my chypres, to start with OAKMOSS in the opening, then detect any notes that survive surfacing here and there as fragrance continues to develop, the darker, the better, and OAKMOSS in the dry down until it fades six or more hours later. Longevity is super with my chemistry. Thanks to the generous Fragrantican that sent it because we had discussed chypres, which we both love.

This was one of my first few perfumes. many years ago, i dont really like it. but as time goes by, i rediscovered it. it's lovely powdery rose & aldehyde combo. super 80s. oakmoss and musk is definitely there in the drydown. silage is just lovely... whiff of aroma when i move around... love it! it last a very long time. even longer if i spray on my clothes/sweater instead of my skin.

YES! This is a great perfume! Just receive it today. I detect a lot of rose and a lot of honey! For my nose this is veeeeery similar to another great perfume - Soir de Lune by Sisley. Is just that Soir de Lune is a little bit more sharper, smells more expensive, and you pay 3 times more for a bottle. But they are indeed very similar! Very pleased with this fragrance! A real classic!

She's a rough girl!.This bunch of roses we're given birth under a soil covered by patchouli,moss woods and spices. Perfect costume to be worn on a cold rainy day.

This is something absolutely different from any other perfume I have experienced. It has revealed it's dangerous character when i unpacked it-even the box smelled of something dark, a bit strangely sweet. It was a very familiar note, but i could not bring the association to my memory. Reminded of the sweetness of blood that i like to lick off when I happen to have a small scratch/cut-the way animals lick it to make it heal better. Somehow i thought something in my father's draw in the old wooden table smelled like this. It's a disturbing smell-sweet in a non-sweet way. Gun powder they used for tatoos when my father served on a submarine? Gothic and dark, I think meditative winter, woolen and cashmere fabrics will bring out the best of this small treasure. I would spray some drops on my winter fur coat, or woolen sweater, or even tweed skirt. Its is creaature that likes to expand-I would take it for a walk winter twilight time, snow around, ot autumn day, chrysanthemum's bitter aroma and smoke of burning autumn leaves in the air, with the cool wift of winter approaching air. And then we would settle on the leather chair, evening looking at my window, thick wicked smokey prunes with crystallized sugar and a walnut inside, and delicious thin coat of chocolate on the outside, to hold this indulgence together...guilty pleasure of these eastern european Prune-in-Chocolate dessert. A liquer in the dark small bottle is beside me-I am going to pour a glass of thick, deep burgundy liquid for myself-only I know what strange concoction I will drink in a moment... ************************************************ I don't know how this will wear-it's hot and humid here at the moment, with plus 35 and high humidity after 2 weeks of plus 40(can't wait to get to my beloved grey and cold weather, and sickly sweet note is nauseating. But I am sure I will reach for my bottle later on, in the right mood. Another name for this perfume for Saudi Arabia market is Provocation-not difficult to guess why.

Got some of this gem from Amanda, she was not wrong about this being really nice! Smells super niche, I can't believe it's this price. Oakmossy, green, almost herbal but just almost. Deep gothic rose. Usually I get dusty from coriander I'm not getting that here. There is an air of vintage here, but it's not in any way "old" or "dusty" rather a honeyed floral, I would have guessed narcissus as that flower tends to smell this way and is present in many perfumes of 80s 90s. This could easily be mistaken for a high end niche if it was marketed as such. Great find! Edit: Something in this was so familiar. Then it clicked when I saw comparisons - sisley soir de lune! So true. Not fully but it definitely has that honeyed, vintage vibe. I really liked that one too.

Today we went out together for the first time. Weather cooled down to autumn-like. On my skin it was divine. Juisy mouth-watering prunes, close to skin. Sealage was impressive-all day, and after it has settled and tamed, no more harsh notes appeared. Instead, regal, confident, sweet, powdery and statement base settled to reward for the patience. I can stll smell refined, grown-up rose, elevated and the one that knows it's own worth. It's a keeper. So happy I have tamed this darling monster. edit> sealage is really scary-i can clearly smell it on my tshirt after washing it in front-loader. it's wonderful-as most of marketed perfumes vapour in several hours. Very happy.

This scent feels greener, more herbal, and woodier than most of its contemporaries yet it stays soft and powdery at the same time. Not animalic at all. Just subtle, smooth, and quietly elegant. The aldehydes, rose, and oakmoss give it a deeply nostalgic aura. It brings back a very specific memory for me: when I was little, my mom’s friends would pick me up and hug me and this is exactly what those “aunties” smelled like. This has "vibes" of so many scents of this type. I think of...Vintage Trussardi, Jacomo Silences, EL Knowing, Clinique Aromatics Elixir, ect... When studying this, I recommend letting the notes develop on the skin. The drydown is,IMO, this scent at it's best. I believe I have a vintage bottle, however, I don't find this beast mode or overly powerful....on me. Classic scent from yesteryear. A major con about my bottle....the sprayer..SUCKS !! lol.

The vintage version reminds me so much of Le Mat Talismans Collezione Preziosa, absolutely no need for both of them. (the contemporary version is a shoulder shrug) Very beautiful, roses, oakmoss and pepper. It also slightly suffocates me in the opening, just like Le Mat. Overpowering with the dryness, then after an hour, just beauty. It makes me wonder how many other exclusive niche perfumes of today are so...inspired...by old masterpieces.

“Marketed to women but leans masculine/unisex” You’re right, just bc theres no trace of sweetness in this doesnt mean a modern man can’t pull off this amazing womens fragrance ♡ I have an old bottle. I didnt even know aigner still did perfumes The moss in the base is everything. Im pretty sure the whole top is intact but it might not be pristine? i mostly get citrus, rose, moss and aldehydes. Shoutouts dana from a nose knows ♡

Thanks to your reviews I bought this without testing, as it is not awailable in Norway. This is just my cup of tea, not sweet but quite spicy. Just love it and so does my husband. Thanks to you all!!!!

Roses and sour oak moss. And it’s not very strong at all in my opinion. Doesn’t last either. Have to be a mossy chypre fan for this one.

Sexy dark and different. Animatic dry down. Intriguing and smells expensive. Bottle on a cheap side. Scent is an excellent value.

Smells like curry powder with fermented roses. I guess it's heavy on the coriander. Quite pleasant once the 'curry' smell wears off a bit. I bought it for layering and today I've layered it with an Egyptian Musk and Al-Aneeq Oud Malaki and its smells quite good. OK, this is 12 hours on and the rose has developed into something rather special. It's deep, rich and sensual. I will probably buy a full bottle if I see one at a decent price. Tomorrow I am going to layer over it with Kayali Vanilla Royale and a whiff of oud Kambodi. I love this journey!

This to me is the typical 90s chypre perfume. Think Montana, Paloma Picasso, etc. Sharp, mossy, heavy and a little cold. Imagine a 60 year old woman with short silver hair, many stories to tell, bright but classy make up, violet linen suit and a colourful Versace scarf. Big 90s sunglasses, gold jewellery. This is how it smells.

I enjoyed all the eloquent reviews- mostly everyone is pleased. This just doesn’t work for me. Olfactory system seems paralyzed having shrunk into its shell like a snail’s defense mechanism. It’s just too darkly brittle on me. Had to scrub it off. It was very tenacious! Strength is remarkable as is staying power. For those who love it and have compatable body chemistry good for you. It was an expensive gamble. I should not have bought it blind! If anyone wants it send me a PM.

Maybe it's my nose but i almost smell nothing. I have a recent bottle but i don't detect any of the positive reviews in this barely there weak substance. What do i smell? Not much a little chypre aldehydic weak wave but that's it. Maybe the vintage is good and a long lasting, power bomb but the current version is a waste of money. Expensive money i paid €35 for a 100ml bottle with scented water.😡 In the sell bin it goes. Maybe someone with a very sensitive nose will like it.

A blind buy after watching Sebastian’s YT channel 😂🙈 So, no offense, I will just share what this fragrance is IMO, just in case anyone here may consider to blind-buy.... DON’T 🙏 test it before you do! This is beast mode. Projection and silage are monsters. Not for the fainthearted person for sure. Stays on skin for ages and even rubbing it off with soap bar for the 5th time does not help....and that was just one testing spritz! To Naji (below) I totally agree with you! It is too much for me too. this fragrance is not friendly to on my skin, neither to my nose 😥 As for notes, it is very masculine scent with prominent oakmoss and patchouli. Some may love such a statement fragrance. Well, good for them. I am certainly not the one to be able to appreciate it 🥺 To me its sort of unpleasant, heavy, dirty aroma with some gasoline lingering in backgroud and too much of earthy tabaco to stand it (although it is not listed in notes at all 😳) I would call it the “unforgiving perfume”. Great value for money though. Test it if you dare my friends...a unique experience for sure 😎 Anyway, I am Happy to give it away 😉 P.S. to give some reference, sometimes I wear my decants of Dior Priv Oud Isaphan, or Aoud by Montale, therefore I do not consider myself a very girly and sweet scented person, who does not appreciate well performing unisex perfume 😉

@ Linoleum, It is the same perfume, it was just renamed a few years ago..same smell..I ordered this, another blind buy for me, so I will update when I get it & have worn it a few times. Cacharel's Lou Lou bit me in the butt on that blind buy..yuck! I read the reviews & see a lot of people have longevity, sillage & projection mixed up. Longevity is how long is lasted (on that shirt you washed in the front loader), sillage is how much of a trail is behind you, as you walk. Projection is how far out it projects, when you are standing still. Will update & hope this helped a few out! UPDATE! I have the bottle, unsniffed in my hands....I am gonna start w/ the tiniest spray on my wrist, b/c of the warnings I see here... Initial reaction- A deep plummy Rose & Oakmoss. This is different than anything I have in my arsenal..back in a few.. I'm getting a little Aromatics Elixer, with a spray of deep plummy rose on top, a hint of Black Leather in the background.. I am now going in with a GOOD Solid spray over that..... Ok, I went HAMMM on the same arm w/ a full And a half spray to hit it really good...It changed the scent a little. Now, I am getting this "Zest" that wasn't there with the tiny spray. Almost a "Cola Fizzy" scent. All of the others are still there..Now I will update on the drydown. This smells EXpensive!!..BRB! OK, last Update unless something drastic happens here. One & a half hours later, I have about 1/3 of what I started with, so it calms down quickly. This may not be true for the ORIGINAL. I get 90%, a lighter Aromatics Elixir, Paco Rabanne is coming out from a distance, and some of the plummy rose. It's an ok for me, ONLY b/c I can recreate this very easily. IF you like Aromatics Elixir You will like this. I think the Oakmoss is more smoothly blended here as well. I am sure on clothes, this would still smell in the laundry for days.

Explosive by Etienne Aigner is a rather dense, sultry rose fragrance. It shares many similarities with Sisley's Soir de Lune and as Explosive came first, (created in 1986), there's a chance that Soir de Lune was inspired by this Etienne Aigner creation. The top notes are quite shrill and vinegary, as the rose note takes time to settle on the skin. I make a habit of applying this fragrance well in advance before leaving the house so as not to offend. The drydown is far more palatable, a beautiful array of red roses on a bed of musky patchouli, oakmoss, geranium and powdery aldehydes. Explosive is a night-out, cold weather scent to my nose. It's far too heavy for wear during the warmer months and far too risky for the office. Although I am quite enamoured with this fragrance, I am more than aware that it is not an easy crowd-pleaser. As Explosive is a rare find these days, I would refrain from a blind purchase unless you are already a fan of dense, musky rose fragrances like Sisley's Soir de Lune. Explosive is the epitome of a 'bad-girl' from the 80s. Big hair, risque clothing, leather jacket and a cigarette in hand. A daring choice for the modern-day woman, yet I am quite happy to challenge the standards and don my 80s gems for many years to come.

Finally I have found the right perfume for those days I want to bring out my yang energy. Nothing sweet about Explosive - I mostly get the fresh spicy vibe. I will not wear this often, as I prefer something oriental, sweet and balsamic, but this is something I needed in my wardrobe. I would say that I appreciate Explosive for not being mainstream and having a self-contained and expressive personality. Update: Explosive becomes more beautiful and feminine on warm autumn days and also the rose comes out more. Update II: In the end I gave my Explosive away, because I found it too sour and too intensive pachouli for my taste... It lacked some sweetnes for me to enjoy it. If anyone likes it in general but is looking for something sweeter - I found out that Or des Scythes by Novaya Zarya (Russian brand which is better known in Russia and post USSR countries) smells quite the same but there is also a very pleasurable honey note (not listed, though) which makes it more balanced than Explosive.

As a woman, this is a fun scent for me to wear. It starts out almost giddy, feel-good, sweet-tart, green and refreshing, like cold 7-Up on a hot day. As juicy citrus notes bubble over the scent really does evoke an expansive rush. Boosted by aldehydes, the coriander and lily of the valley lend a cool, and delicately spicy vibe. At first everything seems to be playing nicely, the musk and rose smooth and round the frag out nicely- and here it might end, ... But underneath- there is an undercurrent of tension - the easy going green ride gives way to an inner heart of tension- iris, cool, green/earthy against geranium- aromatic, with hints of pepper and mint. Add to that the moss, patchouli and vetiver and we're suddenly deep into the forest. Luckily we're not alone- the scent becomes more masculine as it wears! A strange one, compelling - it reminds me a little of the old version of Calyx, crossed with a CDG fragrance.

Hi Ya'll! I blind bought this beautiful frag after watching Dana and Sebastion. What a wonderful surprise when I spritzed this gem! I have been looking for a replacement to my beloved Aromatic Elixir by Clinique as they have reformulated that one...and I think I have found it. This fragrance is so similiar and familiar to me. If you like AE, and are sad about the reformulation then you need this beauty in your collection. It satisfies like AE and you will not be disappointed. Powdery patchouli on my hand, and I will spritz it on my feet and stomach before I get dressed just as I do with AE. These powerful frags need to be applied on the body lower down for a full effect...so as not to offend anyone else and to waft up to you all day long as you move about. This frag can be 'in your face' and really offensive if applied heavily. One spritz, legs, or feet or tummy only please. This one is a beauty, but go lightly.

This slaps you in the face on first spray, then develops a piquant charm - spicy, lemony/rosy and somehow quite naughty. It definitely reminds me of a lighter version of Palomma Picasso, and Kouros, which I happen to quite like, on men anyway. It has a similar dirty/clean feel (similar notes - coriander, oakmoss, aldehydes, patchouli). Kouros has more civet though, so Explosive feels a bit more polite and feminine. It does smell 80s to me, I definitely get the references to Paloma Picasso and Coco Chanel in the spicy coriander and rose combination. I don't know where I'd wear this, as it makes me feel a bit dated - only because I wore Coco a lot in the 80s, also Kouros was everywhere, so the associations are strong. But, I do quite like this. It's different. Definitely one for an autumn or winter's evening, those aldehydes really pack a punch!

Explosive EDT, Spain. Rose-rose-rose, honey-honey-honey. First breath-yes, my favorite Coriander. But they differ in further disclosure. In Explosive, the prune sub-tone completely changes the melody of the fragrance. Where Coriander has moist greenness and coolness, Explosive has incense and a fading rose. Explosive-smoky-mossy, the rose here is velvety, very dark, almost black. And the whole fragrance is a velvety silhouette of a rose against the background of night shadows. The garden from the fairy tale about the sleeping beauty. Predatory whips of pink riot-try, come close!:) But we know that there, behind the fence of thorns - an ancient castle, a mysterious garden, where the sleeping beauty - Rose reigns.

This is an beautiful old perfume to me. Great sillage! I can smell from 3 metres and stay so long long time... I don't find anything similar with this. I was in elementary scholl and I still remember how good this one is. This is has for men also, named PROVOCATIVE. Same bottle and same scent just more masculine and sharp. I was a little girl, so I don't know what smell is..I mean fruits...flowers...woody. lol If you require attention to an event and you are pretty confident, powerful stance as well then you deserve to wear this perfume. The people will cast their eyes, watch what you say. If you're feeling weak and need to feel stronger... then you also need this perfume. That's how I have felt about it.

hi there adrienn, i've tested this fragrance about 1 year ago. but I remember this as a very potent, strong fume with murder sillage. nothing for the faint nor shy of heart. think "le baiser du dragon" -Cartier, or "aigner black" aigner "aromatics elixir" - Clinique , and the like. I wouldn't have classified this a chypre floral, but for the florals I've to say they are strong, too, except they don't are too flowery (think the geranium/orris root). It's a grown up one, and the moss was quite recognizable, too.You really should like power-fumes with a very strong identity that scream confidence and with an almost unisex edge - this parfum doesn't care about gender but about personality. Hope I could help.

Great for a winter's day. I bought this on the strength of the above reviews and it is completely unisex, using a cliche, in an old school sort of way. These are the type of fragrances I love for the cold weather and I am male.Definitely if you didn't tell anyone they wouldn't believe it was a female fragrance. Oakmoss and fruity spices with lasting power of about 4 to 5 hours and not too pungent or nose tickling, even though someone compared it to Kouros, I don't think so as it is much more warmer and comforting.don't get many flowers! Good value for money...cheap price, medium quality and for a fragrance in winter not sweet/sickly and better than the Aigner men's offerings in my opinion.

Explosive/Provocation is like a female (or rather a unisex) version of Azzaro Acteur; (or you could say Acteur is like a male version of Explosive/Provocation, since it followed this one by about three years.) Very prominent, dark rose with great depth through oakmoss. Performance is very good; great projection and longevity. Some may perceive this as a bit too aggressive and dated; so, it probably is not a safe blind buy, unless you buy your fragrances for your own enjoyment first and foremost.

I took a chance and blind bought this beauty. It's a lovely patchouly scent with charakter. Very well done , balanced. Thank you for the good reviews.They helped once again in taking the right decision. I like layering it with Eaudemoiselle from Givenchy.The result is classy. The heat of the summer was also helpful in developing the right chemistry with this darling.No idea how it works in cold weather.Will have to experiment.

Whoa!!! This hits you right in the face when you have your first whiff.Mostly the smell of pure alcohol. Then it calms down into an interesting flowery but not sweet scent. I was wondering whether this was a fragrance for men and discovered here that it's for women. Could easily be unisex though. I think its for the more tough kind of woman. I'm not sure it's my thing exactly, but I'm intrigued.

This is like, one of the first perfumes I ever owned I have no idea how it came to be mine....I opened the bottle and the heady scent mugged my poor nostrils and named my nose it's biiitch from that day on....it smells Powerful and Sexy and Confident, like a 1980's music video vixen styled by Tom Ford....WERK!
