Pergola

To me, this is the quintessential fougère fragrance and my favourite from Exaltatum's 2018 releases (I'm actually surprised that it is at the bottom of some people's lists and even has dislikes!). For me, the longevity was better than Ruby Wood and Osmanthus Noble, lasting around 8-10 hours. I get about 4-5 hours of solid arm's length projection before it starts to calm down. The floral elements remain in the background, keeping it very unisex. I think it can easily be worn all year round and is very suitable for spring and autumn. Although it is a lovely, fresh, green fragrance, it is a hard sell at £130 for 50ml and £70 for 15ml when you have fougères like Eau Sauvage or Rasei Fort's Kolonya and Amouages and Tom Fords retailing for much less.

I have complicated relationships with green fragrances. Normally I am not drawn to them and wear them seldom. There was no truly green scent that I'd love until Pergola. For me it is a perfect green. Full bodied, fresh, atmospheric scent of nature. Love that there is no sharpness. Delicate aquatic floral nuances create a cheerful atmosphere. Pergola is a classy green scent with almost vintage vibe. Very beautiful

I hear the voice of angels in green gardens. I feel the silence of fresh and little bit dark mornings. Fog all around. Mystery. This fragrance have something Saint. Beauty of calmness..

Green powder power, a lovely take on a fougere. I’m getting performance that is above average, about 4 hours. Strong like though I’m not inclined to purchase at existing prices. Still, a fun scent to wear on a chilly Spring day.

Pergola has this sap of a large house plant greenness going on. In addition, I smell a tiny bit of bergamot, some gingery grass, narcissus, moss, ivy and hay. I don't observe major changes going into the dry down, it does get a little softer and somewhat floral, I guess. Honestly it smells like any other commonly found niche green scent. I was hoping to experience something more complex and smart considering the branding and the price point. Overall tame and not too exciting personally.

I can't tell how I feel about this fragrance. It's pretty strong--huge sillage. The main notes I get are ginger and hay, then in the background its this mixture of green and floral notes. It's a pretty photorealistic scent, it does feel like I've walked onto a farm maybe where theres dew on the leaves and bails of hay nearby. It's a nice smell but not something I'd like to smell of.

Dandelion milk! Pergola is green and Dandelionesque for a good part of it’s life and dries down to a milky, skin close floral, like iris and daffodils: not a really sweet floral, but with floral tones, and green petals. It's really pretty but it's SO Expensive. I wish it cost less, because it's a summer garden in scent form.
