A Touch of Class

Smelled this for the first time in probably 30 odd years today. It came out when I was in high school and was very popular, with good reason ! I remember the bottle above but the one I'm smelling now is the atomiser with the baby blue lid. Those who talk about green grass clover and marigolds are spot on. Yes, there's aldehydes so I can see why some opted to stick up No5 but, with all due respect, I didn't think they've smelled in as long as I have. This isn't the 50's and pencil skirts, this is the 70's and broderie anglaise. ( Also: no vanilla ?) This is springtime in a bottle ! It was the spring of my life too and for just a moment I'm lying in the grass in the park, making daisy chains and thinking of the boys I'd like to kiss. 🌼🍀🌼🍀🌼🍀🌼🍀🌼🍀🌼

Scent_Insensibility, you remind me of myself. I wore this back in 1981-82. I graduated high school in 1985. Oh how I loved Touch of Class!! I really wanted to purchase a bottle of it now, but was so afraid of it smelling off, and tainting my olfactory memories. Your description makes it sound like it smells great, even now. You're making me want to acquire a bottle again. A very sweet Fragrantica member sent me a decant of Coty Imprevu, and I absolutely love it. It's supposed to smell similar to Touch of Class, so maybe I'll be alright. Now, if I can just get a bottle of Coty Le Sport (not in database), I'll be in heaven. Need some of my old "smells" from the 80's!!

Ah yes, a good spritz of green leaves, clover/ grass, a crushed marigold note. Faint mint and powder. Dryness. If there is any fruitiness it's very well blended. Uplifting and nostalgic. *Edit* over time, it has become slightly cloying, probably because of something sweet that clashes and doesn't belong there. One, tiny, discordant note. I suspect vanilla. I'm not truly anti vanilla, honestly folks. I'll put it in my baking every time, but...

I just found one of my really early youth SEXY fragrances; Faberge's "A Touch of Class". There is a rather "sickly" looking bottle showing as described in the above descript-pic...but don't be fooled! - this frag definitely rocked the 80's and created babies, who are probably their mom and pop's age today....lol! I remember a sweet grassy scent like clover, but with a twist of sunshine and big hair and makeup. I was really young then. TODAY I have had the lucky chance to purchase this frag again, just this evening. I can hardly wait - and I hope I don't hate, lol! I'll update once received..... UPDATE: WOW! --- I think that I may have HIT THE NOSTALGIA FRAGRANCE JACKPOT! :) Update APR/22: I just pulsed my pulse points with this lovely small bottle of juice - and OMG am I happy that I did so! Spring is in the air again and a Touch of Class fits right in! For a cologne this frag really keeps up! I wish that colognes of today could last as long as this baby does. Soft petals smelling of clover and marigold with that sexy ‘80’s “make-up” scent. If you were in your early teens in the ‘80’s, to smell this today, you would “nose” exactly what I mean! I purchased two 14.8/ 1/2 FL OZ USA bottles! I trust that they both smell the same--the one I opened is EXTRAORDINARILY "EXACT"...OMG,, I wanna cry! ("Thank you" to the Canadian seller that I purchased from xo) BTW: green clover and floral are higher scented; fruity and citrus is hidden between the two -- today is the first day of Spring and I am so happy!

I love vintage scent profiles, but I'm not much of a fan of this Touch of Class by Faberge. Something off about the scent. Aldehydes sometimes give me problems anyway. I have lots of vintage in my collection. I wore Hero by Prince Matchabelli from 1988 yesterday. A Touch of Class will look good displayed on the shelf, but I won't wear it much.
