Ferrari Light Essence

A Fresh and Discrete Buddy on My Dresser I bought it around June of this year, while I was looking for the Ferrari Scuderia Black, which was discounted at a ridiculous price of 12 euros for a 75 ml bottle, a real bargain. The Scuderia Light Essence was positioned right next to it, there were still a couple of boxes, miserably a small size of 40 ml, however, they were sold for 7 euros, of new steel. I was a bit reticent, I was just thinking about another normal aquatic, so I took a couple of sprays on a paper strip and smelled it. Wow, a lot of lemony waves filled my nose, a pleasant, not disgusting sensation. So, I continued my walk towards other fragrances while keeping my nose close to the paper strip. At each sniff, the redolence was getting better and better, something I didn't expect at all. Suddenly, I went back to my step and took both the two boxes left on the shelf. For the sake of clarity, this review is for Light Essence, not to be confused with the other two colognes with a very similar name, e.g., Light Essence Acqua and Light Essence Bright. On my skin, Ferrari Scuderia Light Essence opens with a robust citrusy accord, the lemon is tangy, harsh, close to an unripe green lemon. The citrus fruit melts with a crisp and tart green apple, not at all over standing, and a few shades of freshly-cut mint leaves. The resulting redolence is a minty citrusy juice reminiscent of some traditional cocktail like a Cuban Mojito or a Brazilian Caipirinha, based upon lime and mint, but without any boozy tone. The initial stage is spicy citrus. At first, I thought this would be too fruity, but the apple and hint of blonde woods take some sharpness out of the lemon. As soon as the top notes tone down after a quarter of an hour or so, the floral heart pulses with a pleasant feeling of freshness thanks to gentle honeyed and peppery freesia that mingles with sun-drenched orange blossoms. In the background, a bashful lily of the valley adorns the frame with its little bells. This bouquet made of washy flowers adds an aquatic facet to the middle stage. However, it is neither salty nor marine, but a delicate green wet aroma comparable to the early morning dew drops. The intermediate stage is floral, all just too sweet and subtle. The dry down highlights the dull and pencil-shaver vibe of the cedarwood, which mixes the slightly sweet white musk and the creamy ambroxan, which is used with a moderate touch here, not overpowering. The final stage is somewhat musky, while the woody and green notes dominate. It's a great unisex scent that brings a charming aromatic light clean vibe. The performance is typical of a light cologne. The projection and sillage stay within your arms, whereas the longevity is excellent, around half a day on my skin. Scuderia Light Essence is an absolutely perfect summer fragrance for those extremely wet hot days and nights out when you search for something fresh and comfortable to wear. It is modern and young and so freaking, and quite masculine though anyone could wear this, not marine or beachy kind. The mild scent never offends, just soothes and freshens, and the fruity and flowery side gives this fragrance a happy, positive mood, which I really appreciate. It is not the eau de toilette for excellence not to be missed, but it is an outstanding quality full to join your collection for summer. I've read many reviews saying this is close to Dolce&Gabbana Light Blue for Her, but I am not 100% sure about that. Perhaps they share plenty of notes and a similar vibe; however, there is no peculiar green smell of the bluebell and bamboo. Lastly, lots of contradictory statements have been told for the notes in there, someone does not pick up the fruity green apple note, while others do not get the zesty lemon note. Weird enough, those are two notes that my nose gets most. This review is based upon a 40ml bottle I own.

Easy to wear is the name of the game, and boy is this perfect for that. Initial spray: The mint and freesia absolutely sing together, cheerful and smiling. The lemon takes a back seat, but supports the clean fresh vibe. Very youthful. So so great. The opening had me hooked. 20 mins in: the apple note has come forward with orange blossom to balance off the fun of the first three, and the scent matures and crisps up a bit, but keeps a cool temperature and a casual vibe, great projection. 1 hour: A soft shadow of what I call a sweet sawdust note that says hello, and sticks around for tea. The mint is still detectable, but the freesia has taken a respectful leave, taking the apple with them. 3 hours in: the mint and lemon have parted, leaving the orange blossom and teak to hover in a glorious soapy, woodsy, cool and dry aura. It remained this way until the 6 hour mark, with the freesia popping in to visit briefly once or twice. This is a compliment-generator. Really effortless.

Just picked this up for 19.99 at a rexall here in Canada for a 100ml bottle. This is one my favourite scents. It’s not for everybody and I can understand that. If you’re looking for a less offensive version of Dolce & Gabanna light blue, and by less offensive I mean something with less of a silage then this one is for you. I love the smell of Doce & Gabanna light blue for men, but strangely enough I like the women’s scent more. So much so, that I was looking for a substitute as a full 100ml bottle of Dolce & Gabanna light blue is 120$. Love love for her was the closest I could find for D&G LB. That being said, this scent is my favourite copy of Dolce & Gabanna light for her. Yes it is a bit more in the feminine side but men can pull this off. It’s lemony and flowery. You won’t be disappointed. 8/10.

absolutely perfect summer fragrance for hot days when you look for something fresh and easy to wear. The fruity, exotic side does give this frag sort of a happy positive mood & felling touch I very appreciate. I agree you can not say it is "the" ultimate eau de toilette not to miss but it is a very nice quality full one to get in your collection for the summer. Too keep it short, do not excpect the wow you can get from French big brand's perfumes but it isn't any worse (or better) then Calvin Klein's ck one

This is a wonderful fragrance, light but not like many "summer" fragrances, this is fresh and rich in its lightness, fun and happy. Mostly fruity on my skin and thankfully stays that way for a while. The fruity notes are not sweet, they are more tart. Great to use during the day or during hot summer nights. This is a perfume that I would love to wear, even if I get compliments or not, something I'm happy wearing!

A nice light combo of mostly lemon and apple. At first I thought this would be too fruity, but the apple (and hint of teak wood) takes some of the sharpness out of the lemon. Projection is pretty minimal after about an hour or so, and longevity is only 4-5 hours. But this is well made and enjoyable. A good warm weather scent and a good value for the price.

sleeper hit.....cheaper but LEGIT....smells of dglb...vapour of pleasure...also smells of versace au fraishe....anyway this light essence is such a steal at 12 bucks....itr worth 50...just like the prior 2 mentioned...but it is waeker on all accounts but soo freakin what..spray this shit up..it just causes bliss n eyes pressed smiles...

It's one of my blind buy from the house of Ferrari.Totally waste of money I think.Smell is too light.Smells like ponds powder talc available everywhere in India.It last barely an hour.No projection at all.I was deeply disappointed with this purchase....

Great scent, very fruity and a little floral, perfect for summer and hot weather. The downside is poor longevity. It only took 2-3 hours on me :(

Scuderia Ferrari Light Essence is another fragrance released under the Scuderia Ferrari Division (for those who don't know what I'm talking about, worth taking a look at my review for Scuderia Ferrari Black for Men). The blue tone says everything: it is a fresh scent. However, the result is delicious and compared to other scents of Italian origin. I'm talking about the line Light Blue (Dolce&Gabbana) that really holds similarities to this one, from the Ferrari brand. Let's say that the scent is a mixture between the male and female versions of those from D&G, with the same nuances of Green Apple, cedar, and amber. By the way, the fragrance is composed of top notes of Green Apple, mint and bergamot from Calabria; heart notes of Freesia, Lily of the Valley and orange blossom, and base notes of amber, cedar, and vetiver. On my skin, the floral aspect not excelled. Was fruity and refreshing, since the beginning of the application, going to a woodier base with a huge presence of cedar. Unfortunately, as the name implies, the fragrance of Scuderia Ferrari Light Essence is very "light". Although possessing median durability, you can only feel its aroma for about three hours. After this time, it takes a lot of effort to notice it on the skin. Therefore, I nominate this perfume for those who need to have a trump card in the glove compartment of the car, for those who play sports and dislikes the synthetic smell of many fragrances that carry the name "Sport" or for those who do not see a problem with applications at every four hours. It is worth complimenting the bottles of the line, which are very ergonomic and offer a good grip.

The opening is light green apple. The lemon is there to freshen it in behind but the apple leans more forward of that in my wearing. Lemon is a little more noticeable if you smell up close to the skin though. Overall it is more about the light green apple though. The apple is not blunt, sharp or crisp apple. It’s somewhat delicate and definitely influenced by the more delicate florals in behind, making this a fruity floral scent. It smells nice and clean, very pleasant and very wearable. It has quite soft projection though. Unisex. Quite soon the scent transitions into something a little more green. The light apple effect is still present, but the floral aspects appear to be softening and having less influence. It doesn’t have quite the same fruity floral effervescence the top had, and softens further as it dries down. I smell no woods at all. There is a point on my skin that the scent also develops a mild ‘plasticy’ aroma. That’s in conjunction with the continuation of the soft apple effect. Its hard to know if that’s just my skin though since I’ve unfortunately always had a hard time wearing most green apple oriented scents. I get the sense it wants to stay strong but is wavering. For that reason it should be tested first since I suspect that might be my skin since the scent stays more intact on paper, in particular the soft green apple effect. Overall its quite short lived, maybe a couple of hours tops and needs reapplying. Putting aside the dry down challenges though, had that not occurred I’d consider it a very nice easy wearing close to skin fruity floral summer scent.

Ferrari light essence, to start off i bought this around april this year i kind of blind bought it and i geuss its one of the poorest colognes i have when it comes to longevity. I sprayed this on myself about 3 hours ago on my wrist and its not there anymore im kind of dissapointed, Well anyway, it has a very nice smell though, when i first smelt it i thought wow this is perfect for the beach it reminds me of colognes that hollister makes. well for the note part of the cologne, the top notes are lemon and i get some of what i think is orange blossom but not very much of it that is actually all i really smell out of this cologne it doesnt last long even on paper!. at the start you get lots of lemon and i mean lots of it ! and a bit of oraange blossom mixed with the lemon, when it starts to dry down you get a very very tiny bit of the woody note which is (teak wood), these are the main notes of the fragrance in my opinion and due to its poor longevity that all i get. Ratings/ longevity 1.7/10 the longevity sucks on this one ! Projection 5.6/10 doesnt project very well either actually as soon as you spray its really strong then it just seems to disapear, overall smell 7.2/10 the smell is the best part of this for me overall, 5.8/5.9 out of a possible 10 the oonly really good thing is that pefrect beach smell quality that it has but everything else sucks..

I got this as a present. OMG i thought, what the hell is this. This brand I associate with macho behavior and not with a sophisticated and spiritual way of life. Whether it is true in regard to the car and its imago, it isn't true for this perfume. What was i surprised when i used it and gave it a try. Wow just wow. This is a very nice perfume with some unexpected class. It opens with very much lemon and that is very nice esp. on warm moist summer days, where this perfume fits very well. In the middle you smell the floral-peppery freesia that turns the scent into an other directions towards a light woody fresh-floral scent. Then the aromatic freshness of the neroli like orange blossom, and lilly of the valley (that Ferrari adds to it on their website) and teakwood comes through that gives a petrol kind of scent like a car mechanic has, thanks for the tip Cassiano:). Is it a light perfume. I don't know but in the end it gets heavier and the essence of this perfume comes through. In the end it gets more woody like with its great freshness. This is a very nice perfume with some greatness you wouldn't expect regarding the association with this brand.

Please note I am reviewing the Scuderia Ferrari version. This one is light as the name implies and reacts well with body heat. It does take a while to get going. Safe,fresh, soft smell, I would class this as unisex. Staying power isn't great but just fill an atomiser for when you are out and about. Nice packaging and bottle feels and looks great. I think this is well worth the money and recommend it for mild/warm days My younger Brother particularly likes this, the bottle caught his eye and he tends to lean towards fresh summery fragrances so I gave the bottle to him. Will pick up another near the summertime :)

Aromatic - aquatic fragrance with a wonderful scent that captivates your senses and makes it last a long time. I don't know why the prestigious Ferrari company is so stingy with this fragrance? ...The scent of the fragrance lasts for a few moments, and you will barely notice the scent of the perfume after minutes of wearing it. The biggest flaw in this fragrance is the fragrance bottle, it looks very, very cheap and the plastic bottle cap does not give a good impression at all. Final evaluation: A home fragrance for personal enjoyment, nothing more and nothing less.

This supposed to be a present for a male friend of mine, but after testing it in a shop I brazenly kept it for myself. I would classify it as unisex, very fresh and citrusy scent with a slight aquatic touch. As a female I prefer scents like this while working out -- they don't tend to disappear with heat --, this one also lasts good on me, so I still feel fresh at the end of a session. For the pretty low price Ferrari Light Essence offers a good scent with solid quality, therefore I will certainly buy it again.

Scents are really something else.Trying Light Essence again after ages hits me with memories so hard it’s almost brutal. It takes me back to times with an ex I really loved, her laugh, and how she smelled. Now that I’m getting older, I’m not as into the Light Essence, but my feelings haven’t changed. It was good to revisit after so long.

It is a good summer scent. I like but don't love because I do find that the fruit and floral combo gives it a heavier shampoo like vibe(as mentioned by daisy0216) that I find a little offputting.

super weak but smells really good. if you are curious of the smell, go smell montblmanc starwalker. opening is like 80% similar

This eau de toilette smells like Moschino Love Love/ Light Blue only slightly weaker and at a fraction of the price of those scents. It is ok for summer but nothing groundbreaking in my view.

I don't know how they did it, or let alone WHY - but this manages to smell even worse than their other light blue essence. Whereas the other may have at some point been walked thru a room that had at one time held a flower arrangement, this one absolutely falls flat. I'm honestly not even mad - I expected it. Listen. Some people like to do lots of things and do them somewhat serviceably, while a rare few pick one thing and excell at it. Dear Ferrari - stick to what you do best.

A fragrance which after a poor start becomes a lovely zesty orange-citrus, care free and summery aroma.. I applied 6 heavy sprays 0 -5 mins - Woodsy, a little spicy and generic- I really don't like the opening and I don't understand why, when you are trying to sell this to a market, that you start with this?, especially as many will judge a book by its cover and not purchase and not get to know what comes later.... 5 mins - 30 mins - 10 inch projection. The fruityness kicks in and OMG, this is beautiful. It is 80% the same as Cheap & Chic I love I love by Moschino - the sharp, tangy orange mixed with zesty citrus really stands out, it is to die for. I don't get much apple. It is modern and young and so freshing, for extreme hot summer days and quite masculine though anyone could wear this 30 mins - 1.5 hours 4 inch projection. The sillage on this frag is better than the projection and you get wider trails 1.5 hours - 3 hours - 3 inch projection 3 hours - 6 hours. Close to skin and teak wood blends in This frag is all about the smell and not the projection - it may project more on clothes A great blind buy - £7 for 40 ML The tart orange is so well done and mixes with citrus to provide a life saver in extreme heat - think picking oranges and lemons in the Mediterranean during August - bring on the Summer! Very good

Dominantly freesia, and not much orange blossom if any. Lemon and green apple are there but are much more muted than what you expect. The lemon lacks the sharp zing, and the green apple lacks the sharp green apple tartness, save for the first 5 seconds. So they make for shades of smooth fruity sweetness more than for their accords. There is also the slightest touch of underlying sourness throughout that gives the scent a sort of curly/curviness, like the curvature of a balloon. The teak wood, in combination with these, somehow comes across as a light feminine musk, much like that of an attractive young mother. When you heat up, a sweet feminine musk radiates, which does smell very pleasant, but will certainly come off as feminine... Indeed, smells similar to Light Blue, if I recall.

I live in Japan and this fragrance is a staple here in the cheapie category. It's pretty much the only Ferrari fragrance that can be found at stores these days. As the name suggests, it really is a light fragrance. A soft citrus, with poor to decent performance. It's nice, but in the realm of boring and safe. Might explain why it's so ubiquitous here (meaning, guys want a safe fragrance because even wearing a fragrance at all can easily offend people). As for the comment below.......sure, this one is not one of their best. However, there are some wonderful fragrances from Ferrari, such as Bright Neroli and Leather Essence, to name a few.

Very basic, clean and fresh fragrance with average performance. This is a hit here where I live in Japan, and all over in Asia. As you can see in the comments below, this was many a young man's first fragrance (when the prices of Dior and Chanel were out of reach). Apparently it's been discontinued. What's shocking is how the prices are rising to almost $100 for a big bottle of this. It used to be a staple cheapie ($25) at every shop. At this point, Ferrari Red or Black eventually becoming a $100 fragrance wouldn't surprise me. There is future gold sitting on those rack store shelves, I tell ya!

I like some of men perfume .. reminds me of my dad.. when i was young, my dad always had fresh, musky smell.. I dont remember it now..but when i tried light essence it reminded me of the same ... Ferrari light essence its ideal for hot daily wear,If you like wearing men' s perfume den give it a try.Its strong(for females) and citrusy .Its definetely a scent which lingers a lot. I always had ppl ask me abt it... cause the scent is very strong.. What I like about the scent it has lemony scent. Its brilliant Ideal scent for day wear on Hot Hot day ..

I live in the tropics now, and this is a great fragrance for daily use here. In fact, I give myself a squirt or two, just to liven up those days in the office that seem to go on forever. The mild scent never offends, just soothes and freshens. In fact, though all the notes people describe, to me, the overally feeling is one of freshness, like crisp bed linen that's been sun dried. I love it. Pity longevity and silage aren't a bit better though.

I got this because someone here claimed this scent has some Kenzo L'Eau par Kenzo Pour Homme, and I totally disagree.Kenzo L'eau Par Kenzo Pour Homme is much better and more classier than this one. I am glad I got this in a 30ml for a very cheap price with some other samples. I can smell the apple, but not the lemon. This fragrance is weak and not very good... It has a cheap feeling to it. I would totally avoid this.

To me this brings a very pleasant aromatic light clean vibe. I would say it's unisex cause it has a certain femine touch imo. Can not find it woody or citrusy but rather I would say fruity in a way, after a couple of minutes sits just as a very nicely soothing aromatic frag. Doesn't feel synthetic and quite a surprise and a bargain for the price.

contrary to most opinion, i dont think its light at all. The top notes for me were migraine inducing and nauseating. Its too floral for men IMO. Did not like it. update my review is coincidently about a flanker of this known as Light Essence Bright. I had a sample vial and did not notice that it was another version of this. Sorry.

As far as citrus/fruity fragrances go...this ain't bad at all, actually quite pleasant! Sharp citrus at first then fruity and a little floral and a woody base it's a good fragrance and has much better longevity and projection than Ferrari black, so quite heavy and not really light at all. Pretty good stuff.

For my nose a mixture between Versace Man Eau Fraiche and L'Eau par Kenzo pour Homme (by the way created by the same perfumier Olivier Cresp) with a musky undertone at the base. Average but noticecable projection and longetivity. Pleasant summer scent for a low prise.

I can't find the fruitiness in this one, it just smells floral and "blue" to me -- way too soft (not weak). I will say it's surprisingly strong considering it's so cheap, so if you can track down a sample and enjoy it, it's well worth the price.

It's not so light. I mean, you can get disturbed a little bit, but again it's just to apply as usual. Fresh and fruity. I think in something not so natural that remembers me tangerine. Choosing I stick with D&G Light Blue pour Homme

I think they released 2 versions of this and the one I got has much stronger scent. When it comes to longevity 2 to 3 hours fair enough for the price that i paid for this cologne. Good for everyday use especially on hot weather.

i bought this one for a nonsmoker person and i believe it`s appropriate for people that don`t like a strong perfume. it is very light and somehow fruity , i must say that it`s good for every time of day i really liked it

I have this buddy on my dresser, it's fresh and discret perfume, but the staying power is not so effective on my skin, but for the citric lovers i gess it's a nice buy. And it has more lemon notes than wood.

I bought this cologne because a member here recommended it to me. I must say that I hit the jackpot by following her recommendation. It smells very nice, soft, and I have gotten several comments already

A less tart softer version of Light Blue which is a classic. Possibly better than Moschino love love which doesn't last on me Totally unisex - without question. Clean and fresh too. Decent longevity

Very fresh and fruity fragrance which is at the same time masculine. Perfect for the summer. Not my absolute favorite fragrance, but it definitely has its place. Inexpensive at Marshalls.

i will describe this as cold soursop juice. very fresh n revitalizing. my friend told me that this resemble to D&G Light Blue Women but longevity is poor compared to D&G's offering.
