Boswellia

Boswellia my beloved. I acquired this scent while looking for a way to smell like a church—this does not accomplish that, but is absolutely lovely nonetheless. It’s very dry, woody, with unburnt frankincense as the most obvious note. Definitely a scent for cooler months—it hung onto the wool of my sweaters for days, weeks after wearing it. If I pulled those sweaters out of storage, part of me thinks that they’d still smell like woody frankincense, all this time later. It’s decidedly unisex, in the way that the act of opening a box full to the brim with incense resin is unisex. I don’t get the vanilla, which is why I like to layer it with a simple vanilla fragrance oil. When layered, it becomes PERFECT for me. I do get a little bit of the citrus, but it plays more into the snappy crispness of the wood rather than being a full bodied fruit. A little mature, in a modern way. Unbothered and self-actualized.

Everything I have sampled from this California based house is well crafted. Boswellia is a beautiful oriental, with a citrusy, smoky frankincense taking center stage. Turning to woods and resins in the drydown, this scent is very dry, never turning powdery or going stale. Boswellia is is a modern interpretation of frankincense, and I dont pick up a church vibe. The spices and boozy vanilla come out stronger in the base, taking this warm scent past the 6 hour mark on my dry, perfuming absorbing skin. So impressive longevity, though sillage is soft. Perfect for Fall, though I can imagine many occasions in all seasons when I would want to wear it. Comfortably priced at $108 for 50 ml, I’m impressed with this niche offering.

This is an original, nose catching fragrance. It wears as a moist, blonde woody with a slight touch of spices. Very, very good longevity and silage is personal. I would really like to see more people exploring this line, especially those whose patience is wearing thin for synthetics. This is a well blended, enjoyable fragrance.

the sandalwood in here comes off like stale cardboard and the citrus is cleaning supply adjacent, just not for me

This is a lovely slight smoky balsamic scent with a bit of citrus and floral. I like its sweetness from vanilla. Warm and cosy.
