YOUR LOVE INSIDE ME

I put this on and I'm immediately pulled back to being 15, wearing a badge-riddled denim jacket and Kelly green Converse sneakers on a breezy, summer night on the Jersey boardwalk. It smells like the older guys I'm with (but shouldn't be with) and the thrill of having an entire night ahead of me: invincible, free and open to any new experience. It smells like the invisible line that exists between adolescence and adulthood. If that makes any sense. Your Love Inside Me begins with a pungent punch to the face of figs and cigs. There's an excessive sweetness there from either the Hyacinth/Magnolia combo or maybe the Tea/Tobacco. It's one of the most familiar, yet unfamiliar scents ever...I can't really describe it. On the dry down, it smooths out and becomes "beachier" - conjuring up images of waves, wild-salty hair being tossed around by the sea breeze and that layer of sunscreen from earlier in the day that you couldn't slough off in the outdoor shower. Since I'm one of those people who love scents that tell stories or that present themselves as liquid time machines, I adore this fragrance. I would definitely recommend this one, but only give slight caution for those newer to fragrances.

The floral-ambergris-leather combo gives a distinctly filthy impression in the best way. It's tangy, sweaty, and raw. The sweetness of the fruits are there, but I can't pick them out individually. Tea and dirt mingling together harmoniously, giving a comforting and breezy freshness to this otherwise rather bodily mix. I wish I got more of the suntan lotion and cannabis. Rather I get a lot of both tobacco and leather, but not in a refined, smoking lounge way. It very much smells like you've stolen your teenage boyfriend's ripe leather jacket on a humid night, and you are breathing in the sweat, musk, spilled cola cocktails, smoke, and general dirt that has been collecting on it from years of use. Maybe he rides a motorcycle. Girls think he's cool. As a woman in my late thirties, I suspect that if someone smelled this on me, they might think I've just rolled out of a one night stand with a line cook. I'm absolutely fine with that. Immediately purchasing a full bottle.

this perfume smells exactly like the sweater i received from poshmark a few months ago that reeked of cigarettes and saliva. you can't say it wasn't loved.

Blind bought this which is probably not advisable BUT was intrigued by the notes so here we are (note: I’m typically a vanilla gourmand girlie) At first spray: definitely tobacco and benzoin in there. Without a doubt. It’s a little bit cloying at first. I used to smoke so it’s saying something Half an hour later the tobacco is still there but very faintly so, much more ocean, plum and figs. Can’t say I detect much of the cannabis or suntan lotion. It feels very Kate Moss in her smudged liner, messy era. Maybe Serena VanDerWoodsen after a night of partying. Sexy but bold and smoky. This wouldn’t be my every day but definitely a statement piece.

This provocatively named fragrance is titled after a line from ‘Crush,’ a song by indie softboy mainstays Cigarettes after Sex. This is a thematic departure but not necessarily a textural inconsistency for the house: Cigarettes after Sex lacks the late 80s diy ethos of much of the other artists found referenced within this collection, but via modern indie cred, arrives at the same conclusion. I find the fragrance itself manifests much of the more problematic subtext of a product made after an often-derided horny straight white man band. I actually really enjoy this about YOUR LOVE INSIDE ME – it smells like sex on the beach with a man with greasy hair and an edgier than thou podcast addiction. Like Taylor in her Matty Healy era, this perfume doesn't apologize for its sleaze, but revels in it. The most prominent notes are a mellow wet dirt accord from earthen geosmin, a salty ocean accord, Lapsang Souchong tea – sharp and overstepped – and a filthy cannabis-fig hybrid that smells like sharing a blunt in the garden of earthly delights. If Diptyque’s Philosykos is the mother of all figs, YOUR LOVE INSIDE ME is the dropout older brother, picking you up in a beat-up Saturn and taking you to the beach at sunset, riding a mix of overconfidence and Wheatus Teenage Dirtbag sing-a-longs in hopes of getting some. I didn’t always like this perfume, but I did always feel strongly about it. It’s hard not to, really. The sweet and salty mix of tobacco and earthy notes is certainly not for everyone. There are an array of lesser notes that come through in brief revelations throughout the pungent and lengthy drydown. Hyacinth, sunscreen, magnolia, plum, the progression of this perfume from start to finish wears something like wet dirt, everything you can smoke, semen, crushed fruit, chemicals. Some might call it offensive, I call it a summer evening well-spent.

Waited to review until I wore it *while/after* smoking (cuz the cannibas note yk) and lmty it was fiiiiiiinnneeee!!! like a truly me (right now in this moment) scent. Stor-tasitical! Smoked blunt in an empty construction site & skated around in the lowest low-rise-jeans (lucky brand) so U KNOW my ass was sweating up a storm (oh also a storm was scheduled for that evening, it was in the air. But also...the Floralszzz which exist with me as well??? Fabulous *MUAH* frizzy long hair, arms in the air “I dreamt abt u every night this week” Yes, sexy monster and self flagrant flirtations and the prize of the day. SHINE GOLDEN PONY BOY

Wet asphalt, ozone is really forefront on me. The day is cooling off, old leather jacket. Floral, a little heady, but not heavy. Sunscreen. Juicy..? Makes me think of evenings spent at backyard shows. Sharing a spliff. Moments of adolescence we experience no matter our age. Like getting in a car, or being in someone's room for the first time and it smells like all these different little things that make up a part of their day, a part of them. Yes, sleazy, lol smells enough like a cig to make me want one, so fair warning if you're quitting

there's an actual rough physicality to the opening that i was not expecting- should i have been? then a spicy, slightly damp soil emerges- dirt left on leather car seats, half-laced boots, spliff, 5 hour energy. i don't get much fruit or juiciness, at least not initially...but a muddled, floral sweetness ebbs and fades over the initial aggression. sex in the pnw? sure, i guess. in the right context on the right person this could be hot

'Your love envelops me' or 'Your love warms me' or 'Your love lifts me' or 'Your love in my Heart', something, anything other than this comedy name. If I was wearing this I'd lie about it, couldn't bring myself to reply "Your love inside me" if anyone ever asked what it was.
