Fireside Vanille

Genuinely such a good dupe for 'by the fireplace,' very smoky with less of the sweet vanilla the original has but for the price it does its job. A lovely unisex fragrance for Fall & winter that always gets compliments when I wear it.

This got such a strong reaction out of me that I had to go back and grab another bottle the day after I got the first one because I was scared it would blow up online and sell out. Let me backtrack my enthusiasm just a bit by adding how there is a weird plasticky/stale vibe on the dry down that brings this down several notches, but the opening so SO GOOD. The only way I can describe the vanilla is fatty and plump (LMFAO) like... She's voluptuous and edible, but she doesn't stay that way as long as I'd like. I think the weird facet is coming from their attempt at a smoke accord. It's not a bad attempt but the indie house Hexennacht set my standards for that. (Get a roller of their "fumer" scent and layer it with this or another vanilla UGHHHH YUM) Tbh if you already have a good vanilla you're probably just better off layering it with the Hexennacht..... Ngl. I don't think I actually needed 2 bottles of this

this is a beautiful cozy scent! it really captures the feeling of sitting next to a campfire in early fall, roasting a marshmallow until it’s golden brown. it’s a little smoky, a little sweet from the slight vanilla. i sprayed it on myself before going to bed, just 2 sprays, and could still smell it in the morning. very long lasting at least on clothing and well priced. easily a favorite! love this.

SO CLOSE to my old birch and argan fav fragrance from bath and body works.... Brings back awesome memories. Great dry down, but I will admit that my bottle seems to have a prominent "smoke" note off the top. It's 100% a smoky woody vanilla. Exactly like being by a fireplace in the winter but with a touch of vanilla. So winter, so comfy, .....not "girly" either.

Very smoky with a touch of sweetness, but barely any vanilla coming through and not picking up any cinnamon at all. Very cozy and wintery, but the smokiness is so heavy that I feel like I've been stuck in a chimney. Marshmallow Mogul on YouTube compared this to Liquid Smoke, the cooking sauce that you use to make vegetarian bacon, and I have to agree lmao. This might grow on me if I layer it with something to sweeten it up, but I'm not holding my breath. I would say it's worth the price if you do enjoy this fragrance, but don't put big expectations onto the longevity or projection. I can appreciate it for what it is, but it's not for me. Okay just tried layering it with another fragrance from the Fine'ry line, Athena, and it brings out a sweeter vanilla but still smoky. More like what I was expecting from this fragrance on its own. However, I did end up returning this (as well as Athena) as it was too different from what I was expecting and there was no tester in the store to try, and I don't really see myself wearing this much as it's not very "me".

Pale imitation of By the Fireplace. Totally lacks the depth and bite. There’s a little bit of smoke, but it’s mostly that same disconcertingly artificial fluffy musk note that’s present in most of the Target body sprays. It’s not actively unpleasant but for a scent profile like this I want something so much richer and stronger.

i heard someone say this was similar to b&bw's marshmallow fireside candle, which i'd love to have in wearable form, so i sniffed this in-store today and was pleasantly surprised how similar it is! i've smelled by the fireplace before too and actually dislike that scent; i get pure smoke and nothing else, so to me this isn't very similar even if it is attempting to imitate it. this is fluffy, sweet vanilla (not quite marshmallowy) and smoky embers. a little more "perfumey" than marshmallow fireside. projection and longevity aren't bad either from the single spray i did on the back of my hand. definitely considering picking up a bottle!

This is like Maison Margiela By The Fire Place layered with Phlur Vanilla Skin. I got the bone fire vibe but I got the cashmere vanilla as well. Not gonna say this is MM By The Fire Place dupe per se, but I am glad that bone fire smell is tamed down and there is warm cashmere smell in it.

Smells mostly smoky, a little spicy, hardly get any vanilla.

Punches above its price-class.
