Volcanic Flowers

A fragrance with a rich and complex structure, evoking the last eruption of Mount Fuji 300 years ago... Top Notes: Patchouli, Coffee, Amber, Lavender Secondary Notes: Jasmine, Cardamom, Ginger, Cocoa, Cedar, Nutmeg Subtle Notes: Hazelnut, Lily of the Valley It's the scent of a mineral soil of manganese, iron oxide, silicate and magnesium. The scent of cooled lava in which flowers grow. From the first spray, its opening of smoky ash and Patchouli is very powerful. Followed by Amber and Lavender. And although it hints at white flowers, I struggle to detect them. It's a warm/cool ember floral. Its evolution takes on a "barbershop" feel, almost fern-like. A dense fragrance, sheathed in molten black rock and lava stone, draped in mystery. A glowing heart where incandescent incense makes swirls of nutmeg and cardamom dance. It's a smoky floral patchouli, an olfactory enigma for pyromaniac poets.

It's like you splashed your flower perfume on hot stones and it sizzles and goes up in aromatic fumes, tingling your nostrils. Now I get why it's volcanic flowers. I thought it will be dry and clary-sagy, but it's sweet, and tingling, and incense-like, a bit smoky-woody. I imagine myself wearing a gorgeous tailored suit, but in some vivid warm deep colours, like brown&orange. The scent becomes dryer (less sweet) over time, cedar appears, but not to the point of stiffness. Compared to Floraiku "And your lips" this one is much more complicated. I like complicated. And it's spicy and aromatic, reminding me of Clive Christian Matsukita with its pepper, nutmeg and wood notes.

This is my second time. I am much more impressed the second time around than I was the first. Perhaps because I am wearing it at night. It is a really complicated fragrance and that is the beauty of it. The spice is in your face but every once in awhile you can smell the jasmine and that takes it over the edge for me. It's very seductive. It's 5 PM in San Francisco. Right now I feel like the sexiest person in the world.

Addicting. As someone who finds spicy fragrances overwhelming, this sits at my perfect level. Has so much depth and a cologne like freshness but slightly gourmand. This is gorgeous for fall winter. On my list for next purchase.

Very complicated. Smells a lot like Sauvage Elixir to me. But a bit smokies and more natural. Beastly in a bad way, to me. Too strong. Nice smell though. Too gourmandy with the chocolate and coffee.
