Lily of the Valley

Oh! How I love this waterfall-clear fragrance....but oh, how it can make me sneeze! So fresh, so clean, citrussy & pure - it's all top notes to me....but boy does it last. I spritzed a bit on my dressing gown (sneezed) & then was lightly kissed by bouquets of lily of the valley. They are growing in my garden as I type & the Floris scent is so close to the real thing, except it is possibly more zesty with a light touch of rose – maybe lily of the valley just after the rain, being warmed by the sun, then. A week on & the fragrance is still there clutching my gown, making me smile as I recognise the same true scent, possibly more zesty now & without the sneeze-factor! People may say that this is for the more elderly wearer, but I disagree. It is light & clean & fresh – a tonic for city life & a waft of youthful, pig-tailed spring. It is so simple, in fact, that I love to wear it in between my love affairs with other more complex perfumes to clear the slate & the mind, as it were. I know a frightfully posh & eccentric friend who uses it as the most expensive WC air freshener....she claims it has the property of rendering even the most grotty, dirty places sparklingly fresh as a daisy!

A good lily of the valley soliflore. After a few minutes of intense lemony green freshness, it segues into some dense soapy notes and a body odor sour musk; but luckily before too long everything blends together and smoothes out and the result is a good approximation of irl lily of the valley. Not the best I’ve smelled, it has a bit of shrillness, but it’s a solid choice. Where some lov scents come across as cool and composed this one feels more high pitched and energetic and there isn’t much that feels natural in it. Despite that and despite the slight shrillness I enjoyed wearing this; it has good sillage and longevity for a green fragrance, lasting 7 hours on the skin.

When I wore this yesterday I seemed to have a smile on my face most of the time, it certainly made me feel good. It is light but does last a long while on me. At some moments I too thought it had vanished into thin air but a turn of the head...ping, it was back again. I wore all day and into the evening and only topped up once. Its clean, flowery, head-clearing aroma is not for all but it certainly agrees with me.

I like this scent (what I can smell of it). It goes on and is very light and pleasant, then it DISAPPEARS within less than 10 MINUTES. I don't know if there's something wrong with my body chemistry or the sample vial that I bought. I'd really like to try it again because I do like what I smell initially.

I received a free sample of this and decided to try it. It's a light, lemon-scented and simplistic fragrance. I wouldn't go out of my way to buy it if I was ever looking to purchase a female fragrance for someone.

[MAY 2021] Had this as a surprise sample! This may actually be my first perfume I admit I do not like. On my skin, its completely overrun by some synthetic musk and overly powder-sharp verbena-lemon accord. It smells more like a faucet cake Glade. Palomo Picasso has a similar musky(?) smell but at least I'm okay with Picasso since it has some ambery fruit-like depth. And I love lily of the valley! So this Floris was upsetting ;; UPDATE: I would recommend you try 51 Essence by Roja Dove, Guerlain or Cartier's Lily Of The Valley perfumes, or Hermessence's Muguet around the same price, or Floris' Chypress which does not smell like $25 like this (I think discontinued) thing. Even better, for the same price just pay for a DSH garden bouquet floral (Venus and Cupid, and especially Divine Gardens which is a perfect lily-of-the-valley perfume and more!)

It's a lily of the valley but it's a complex scent. very pleasant. Definitely unisex and non-intrusive. To try

It has a strong smell of denatured alcohol. You get wafts of lilly of the valley but the denatured alcohol is all I smell throughout its lifespan.

This is not a complex complicated many layered discover its hidden depths perfume like some of these reviews would make it seem. It's simple. Smells like a victorian bath soap. Smells like a powdery lemon with green notes. That is it. Does not go anywhere from there. I don't smell lily of the valley notes. I do love the scent of lilies. I got samples directly from the website to try out. To me, this perfumes large price tag is due to the history of the perfume/name of brand. I could not see paying more than $25 for this perfume based on scent alone. That said, it is a nice perfume. I like wearing it after a bath on warmer days. But I could probably get a similar result from bathing in Yardleys lemon verbena soap. I do like this perfume. I would purchase a small bottle if they made them.

A timeless clean white floral... When I first tried this one, I didn't have many expectations. I expected it to be very old and nothing would appeal to me. After all, Lily of the Valley is a note which is old and clichéd. However, I was pleasantly surprised! It is not heavy, it is not too old fashioned, and not stereotypical! It's light and contemporary, and it makes me happy wearing it. I associate this smell with very clean soap. Spotless! I have been wearing it for a while and have been complimented! It's always nice to hear something positive whilst wearing a fragrance and I think this is one I will revisit again. Simple but elegant. A clean, perfect floral fragrance.

Such a sweet and fresh smelling scent. I’m full honesty it almost smells like glade table cleaner but in a nice way?? Initially the smell is very overpowering with the alfami Lemon and has a strange musk to it. Once it is set into your skin, the sweetness becomes very powdery and blended with your skin. Green notes stay the whole time and this perfume will stay on your clothes

Floris Lily Of the Valley; what an innocent and beautyfull scent. This scent strenghtens innocence, feeling of being satisfied, happiness of Soul in human earthly being. Colour for this scent would be bright white mixed with shades of soft pink and very soft light blue. This scent reminds You; "You are innocent at your deepest nature -as You Are - You are Beautifull"

Roses, lilies with watery green stems, simple sweet, flowery, fresh... a rose-tinted ideal of a Victorian bath. This is lovely, sophisticated, but inexplicably naive in a way. I like it, it is verging on the edge of soapy, but it is so perfectly balanced, so sweet and delicate, like handmade lace or a porcelain figurine.

A very classic composition built on a dominant lily of the valley note enriched by tuberose and a very usual rose note. Well crafted, discreet and somehow elegant but absolutely anonimous. Rating: 5/10

To me this smells of a toilet cleaner and looks like it was discontinued by Floris

Beautiful fragrance! Makes me feel so special!! Just love it.

My absolute favorite EDT...How I wish it lasted longer!
