Night Scented Jasmine

Creamy-Cool Shaded Jasmine... It's a beautiful, soft, cool, creamy & fresh jasmine with some faint mauve/purplish tones and no sharp edges. This is jasmine at its coolest & creamiest and without any sunny aspects. I pick up gardenia secondly (more than narcissus or neroli although they're here as well but less prominent than in Something Blue Oscar de la Renta), and lily which is similar to the lily in Anais Anais Cacharel (although they're not dupes). The gardenia is helping to build the jasmine, and brings a soft creamy banana note which is complemented and rounded out by the ylang-ylang. The base is mainly a creamy sandalwood which doesn't overshadow the florals but makes the creaminess thicker and more opaque. There's also a Night Scented Jasmine Lotion which I love, and is true to the original scent, and can be layered for improved performance or used on its own. Contrast to Something Blue Oscar de la Renta: These are different, but there are similarities with a white-floral bouquet that includes green, yellow-floral, neroli & narcissus accents. Night Scented Jasmine is creamier and more jasmine forward, while Something Blue has a more watery dewy feel. Performance is slightly better for Night Scented Jasmine. Contrast to Gardenia Elizabeth Taylor: These are different, but there are some similarities with creamy, green-leaning gardenia. Night Scented Jasmine is more jasmine forward ofc, and doesn't have the beachy aspects present in Gardenia. There's also a creamy sandalwood base in Night Scented Jasmine which makes the creaminess thicker. Roughly equivalent performance. Contrast to Jasmine Oscar de la Renta: These are different, but there are similarities with a green-leaning jasmine. Night Scented Jasmine is a lot creamier, while Jasmine Oscar is more watery & sunny with a honey/beeswax note. Performance is better for Night Scented Jasmine. Contrast to Anais Anais L'Original EDT Cacharel: These are different, but there are some similarities with lily, jasmine, ylang & sandalwood. Anais Anais is more powdery and has a more forward lily with hiacynth and a mossiness in the base due to oakmoss, while jasmine is more forward in Night Scented Jasmine which reads a little creamier also due to gardenia. Roughly equivalent performance, or slightly better for Night Scented Jasmine. Contrast to Jardins de Bagatelle Guerlain: These are different, but there are similarities with a creamy, white-floral bouquet with green & yellow-floral accents (gardenia, lily/lily of the valley, narcissus, neroli, jasmine). Jardins de Bagatelle is more about a strong tuberose, while Night Scented Jasmine is more about jasmine ofc. Jardins de Bagatelle has stronger performance. I love the name of this scent. Thanks to reviewer Kitty9 for lending it authenticity, and describing the Sardinian jasmine angle. Fans of florals-in-general, including jasmine, gardenia & ylang would probably like this - it's very well blended and easy to like. From this brand the only other one I've tested is White Rose Floris, and there's a similar density & performance. I'm so tired of winter and looking forward to spring, so I sprayed this on this morning. Love it. Enjoy!

Absolutely in love with this fragrance!!! A light, green , soapy, understated work/day scent . Very gentle and close to the skin . I adore white florals , especially Jasmine scents and it’s so lovely to find one , not cloying or indolic ( yuck , thank God!) but linear , cool and subtle which you can use daily .However , I do agree that the name is deceiving , firstly as not quite a night scented Jasmine but also because it’s not a soliflore , it is a blend of the numerous florals stated. My only complaint , which is a biggie , is that I have to keep reapplying as the silage and longevity is very poor. So wish it stayed potent longer , despite this , I just had to get a bottle cause it’s the jasmine fragrance I have been so searching for! Have not seen a EDP of this scent for sale. Does Floris even make it as a parfum ? Read it was discontinued .Hoping maybe it would be less fleeting . The blending of the gardenia , narcissus, lily , mimosa and rose and of course my favourite - Jasmine is outstanding . Just my cup of tea . I have noticed during the hotter weather , I turn to greener , lighter fragrances and this has become my top two favourite perfumes. I can’t smell the citrus notes much or the Iris and I’m happy it doesn’t turn powdery on me . Not sure why it’s listed as powdery on the main accords pyramid . So glad it’s not . I prefer a straight clean floral . Just so well balanced that I’m hit with my interpretation of floral paradise . Update - got the moisturiser and body wash as well to layer the scent and hope it stays on longer . Night scented Jasmine is my first experience with the Floris perfume house . After buying this beauty , I have bought bottles of Fleur, LOTV and Bouquet de la Reine . Fell in love with these too 💓💓💓 A year and a half later and this beauty still remains as one of my favourites.

This fragrance is lovely! It is different from anything I have smelled to date. I don't have the nose to detect exactly the flowers, but they are unmuddled and clear, if that makes any sense. Like Anamandy, I don't get any soapyness at all, unlike Floris' Bouquest de la Reine which I feel is very soapy. I think this house makes quality perfumes. I own Cefiro which is a unique take on a citrus freshie and more long lasting than many EDP's I own. I tested Night Scented Jasmine along with Cherry Blossem, Bergamotto di Positano, and Bouquet de la Reine. I really enjoyed all but Bouquet de la Reine. I plan to look into Floris further. Edited to add that the scent is fairly strong. It's important to not overdo it. I used 4 sprays this morning and it was too much for my nose (I usually use at least that with all of my perfumes). I added some Byredo Young Rose and it toned it down nicely. Still a lovely scent.

I love jasmine and wear it well. This does not disappoint. The fragrance started out very sparkly and lively green with a fresh citrus boost and a hit of pepper for heat. The floral notes them developed and I first noted violet. I think the violet is tempered very well with the jasmine which crept up alongside of the violet. They seem to playfully take turns dominating the floral notes of the perfume. Violet is one of those notes that on its own can be somewhat sickly to me. Combined here with a stronger, deeper, muskier base, it works seamlessly and beautifully. It sparkles and tantalizes. I find this scent quite heady and intoxicating like the first couple of sips of champagne. It's simple and clean without any jarring surprises. Definitely not one of the more advant-guarde niche fragrances, but it hold its own and if you love jasmine, definitely worth the experience.

This to me is a true Floris fragrance. This is house that tends to lean very feminine or masculine with their fragrances. In true British fashion I admire everything they put out. I used to live in California and I had night blooming jasmine right out my window, does this smell the same ummm no but it is a jasmine scent and very sweet and green. I do like it and it is a very simplistic scent of jasmine which I do appreciate similar like the house of Jo Malone. Floris, is an older house so everything is a lot more simplistic and not as sophicated as the niche house of today. This does have excellent longevity on me and sillage is also good. Recommended for spring and summer 9/10 not too unusual! This settles very nicely on the skin but you have to like florals!

I agree with sky76sky's review. This is an absolutely gorgeous fragrance appropriate for enjoying in warm or cool weather. There is something about it that reminds me of a heated greenhouse. Perhaps it is the way the florals easily combine together almost producing a warming effect. It doesn't have a incredibly great sillage, but it is very noticable and pleasing close to the skin. Beautifully done, Floris!

With heavy Jasmin and clean soap, this one is sexy and classy all at once. Personally I think it works best as a scent for cool weather, because the Jasmin will learn very sticky otherwise. On me it's still detectable on my skin after 12 hours!

A fresh but delicately mysterious jasmine hybrid that I would say is definitely for day wear. It lasts a decent time on me but it stays close to the skin rather than being bold and loud.One of my favorites from this house.

I love it but I hate it's not long lasting, if it was it would perfect for a signature scent from my perspective, I just wear it for really special occasions but I feel the smell its paradise, I love it. Its perfect.

I'm pretty perplexed by the reviews that find this fruity and soapy as I do not find it that way at all. I found that true of another Floris floral fragrance, Bouquet de La Reine edt, which smelled like a fruity floral shampoo. I'm not getting anything like that here. This smells like a sweet while floral, jasmine tea fragrance to me. A really well-made jasmine tea fragrance. I'm surprised since tea is not listed in the notes. It must be the green notes and violet leaf that is creating that accord to my nose, though I also get the violet leaf pretty strong, which is a note I love for the cool tone it adds to scents. I do agree with other reviewers that there doesn't seem to be night blooming jasmine in this, at least compared to the night blooming jasmine scents I've smelled before, which honestly are not many. But I think the name of this scent wasn't supposed to be taken literally anyway, at least not as to the actual contents. It certainly doesn't smell that way. There is nothing heady, opulent, or seductive here. I'm actually not even sure why they named this the way they did as there really is nothing nighttime about this scent. It doesn't even evoke the scent of the garden at night, at least to me. It is just a very pretty, but simple, white floral daytime type fragrance. I had tried Fragonard's Jasmin Perle de Thé a while back, which is an actual jasmine tea fragrance, and while I find this similar to that, there is just something about this, a reserved elegance, that I find more appealing. It is why, despite having many daytime scents, I opted for a bottle. I also bought the lotion too, thinking it would help to increase the silage and longevity, and also because Fragnet had a great deal on it that I couldn't pass up. But I needn't have bothered, because surprisingly this is much stronger and longer lasting than the sample I had. A few sprays in the morning lasted all day on me. I did purchase a tester, so maybe that is stronger than the retail one, or maybe this is an older formulation. IDK, but it smells great and performed wonderfully on me.

I love Floris - they aren't cutting-edge or dated, they don't create with the intention to shock, they never smell synthetic, they just produce wonderful, well-structured genuine floral perfumes. No excess frills, they are very well-mannered & classic - truly exquiste (bar Santal & Florissa IMO). Night Scented Jasmine is a fabulous Floris scent. Jasmine alone could so easily be cloyingly heady, too sweet & pungent for most noses....I adore burying my nose into jasmine flowers but I could not take that kind of potency wafting from my skin all day long. NSJ starts with the most gentle citrus lift, orange blossoms & warm spicy cituses, not sharp bitter ones. The violet leaf is barely there & nicely peppery-green (I find violets so hard to wear - taking over the perfume& giving me headaches). Very quickly the heart of the fragrance warms & blooms on the skin & it is a rare, rich & heady delight without being sickly or too deeply 'purple'. The jasmine is represented very well - it is a true scent, like walking past a beautiful jasmine plant in the thick, still, warm air on a hot summer eve. I definitely smell gardenia & white florals, & a few green stems. As it settles jasmine is still the overall note you detect but it keeps getting richer & deeper. Roses appear - the deep honeyed amber rose, not a clear white rose & there is a light muskiness. Sandalwood keeps the fragrance from floating away - it is a creamy depthy number after 4 hours. Sillage is good, especially for a floral. After 6 hours I am left with a whisper of the fragrance but with a slightly green-bitter note - this is the only part of the perfume that lets it down. If you like jasmine & rose, but don't want to smell sickly-sweet this fragrance is for you.

Night blooming jasmine is a plant with the botanical name of Cestrum nocturnum. The plant or shrub emits a powerful, sweet perfume which is only released at night. This means that if you cut a piece from the shrub with the little white flowers, and pop it into a vase during the day, you won't smell a thing....By nightfall, you will be overwhelmed by the fragrance emanating from the vase. The fruit of this shrub is a berry 10 millimetres (0.39 in) long by 5 mm (0.20 in) diameter, either greenish white or pale yellow in colour. Does Floris Night scented jasmine smell anything like this plant? Not at the start, it's a huge creamy floral to begin with (not unlike the original Casaque), and it pretty much stays a white floral until it subsides. It settles into a very pretty, very sweet jasmine. Cestrum nocturnum? Well maybe if you were extending your imagination somewhat, you might reach that conclusion. This isn't to say it's not terribly pretty, and there's an air of the shrub in the composition, but it's not absolutely night blooming jasmine. Silage 6/10 Longevity 4/10

I just bought this perfume through eBay. I totally agree with the other reviews, but for some reason i like it, but i don' t love it. If i close my eyes and try to picture myself walking past a Jasmine bush on a warm summer night, i just don't get that feeling with this perfume. In the beginning you really smell the Jasmine, after a while i feel that the rose scent takes over and it becomes just a very plain scent. Unfortunatly the overall vibe reminds me a little bit too much of an air refreshner. I am crazy about the Flying Fox temple balm from the Lush (really a recommandation for Jasmine lovers) But since i like to indulge myself in this scent, i have to put a lot of balm on my skin, and that makes my skin very oily. Unfortunatly they don' t have a liquid fragrance of it. If anybody knows a perfume close to the Flying Fox, please let me know!

What a proper, ladylike perfume! The lily is the most detectible note to me, followed by a creamy (not indolic) jasmine with the overall effect reminding me of a classy hand cream or soap. It has a classic feel without smelling "dated" (likely due to lack of aldehydes or oak moss) and is perfect for wearing when I want to smell nice, but not "perfumey". On me longevity is very good (I sprayed some on 12 hours ago and can still smell it) and sillage is intimate which makes it a great choice for wearing to work or when I'll be in close contact with others. A definite win of a blind buy!

So disappointed in this. Starts off with a slightly jasmine-y smell, quickly moves into something 'modern and fruity' and quickly moves from that to something very similar to Mark's and Spencer's Florentyna, which is all that remains, leaving no jasmine at all and a predominant and unbearable screechy powder note. I don't get any of the stated base notes, just maybe a bit of musk. Very 'budget' smelling. Can this really be Floris? Maybe I got a dud.

Heavenly, light & white-flowery-fresh! Perfect spring/summer pick-me-up. This may be quite fleeting (3-4hrs max) but it really does smell heavenly. I would happily bathe myself in this forever. It is not meant to be overwhelmingly strong and knock out anyone within a 20ft radius. You wear this for yourself and maybe an intimate friend. Floris do flowers so well! Love how simply beautiful this is.

I bought this on a whim without trying it because it was on sale for about 13 dollars at a discount fashion store; and because I adore jasmine. I quite like the soft flowery scent which is not overpowering or too sweet. I can pick up the jasmine but not so much any of the 'green' components. This scent layers wonderfully with a lot of the jasmine bath products I have.

This is a pretty floral scent, but it does not smell like true night-blooming jasmine. There is nothing indolic or heady about this, as you get with a night-blooming jasmine plant. I don't actually get a lot of jasmine in this, but rather a medley of white florals and violet or iris. It's also quite soapy and clean. Inoffensive and easy to wear- I enjoy this.

This does not even come close to what I know to be night scented jasmine. I will, however, keep this in my collection as a small part of fragrance history. It's too floral and sharp for me to actually wear, but it's very much a classic and an important part of the fragrance industry we know today.

Green is the perfect description for this. It literally smells like vines, but also very floral. It's honestly beautiful. It's exactly how I imagine walking in a moonlit garden to smell like. Scent Description: Green Floral Sillage: Medium, arms length Longevity: Long, will linger beyond 6 hours

I wore this on a hot, 30°C day. It was floral and powdery. It formed a comforting, fluffy bubble around me. Not very long-lasting, had to top up once. It was a much better wearing experience than the first time I smelled this, which was pungent and a realistic night jasmine scent

Light, watery authentic jasmine. Very feminine. It fades for me very quickly. This is delicate, fresh and would be a nice option for the hot dog days of summer. My only complaint is it doesnt last that long for the price so that stings a bit.

Jasmine? Jasmine. All of it, from the roots down there, up to the twigs, leaves and flowers, to the light wind playing in them. And all is good about it, but it is not my scent.

This is a very nice and pleasant scent, but nothing groundbreaking. It reminds me quite a lot of Gabrielle by Chanel, and Daisy by Marc Jacobs. It’s light, feminine, and classy.

A pretty warm jasmine, light and fleeting. I do love a jasmine but since it is so quick to depart I can't say I love this. As alfarom says, "pleasant but unremarkable". 5.5/10

This is soft, natural and lovely. The jasmine does not have any sharp edges nor indoles. Night scented jasmine is perfect for ... bedtime.

Light, green, soapy floral. Smells like an expensive shampoo. Wears very close to skin and doesn't project much. Office safe and rather boring. I got a sample of this cheap and was curious. Not really my cup of tea, to understated and linear for my taste. If you like shampoo clean florals that are office safe w/ a subtle greenness this is a good one to check out.

- Opening smells nice, sweet, bright and citrusy. The mid smells of a floral bouquet and the base smells of green notes and transparent jasmine. It's not long lasting at all. I sprayed my sample (2 sprays) at least 4 times today. Glad I got to sample it and didn't blind buy the bottle as it just doesn't last on me (and this is coming from a lady who enjoys intimate skinscents). It smells feminine and pretty though.

Photorealistic jasmine open with a strong soapy-musk dry down. The floral bouquet is problematically heavy, with jasmine being the centrepiece - I don't smell citruses at all. Musk and vetiver in the base smooth the transition between top and mid notes, but only by overpowering the more delicate scents. Sillage and projection are high end of moderate, longevity is very good 8+ hours

Personally I don't find it very green. More soft and a bit oldfashioned. But not annoying and quite romantic... A definite try for the jasmin lovers :)

This is a beautiful DAY TIME JASMINE. It's a fresh citrusy floral fragrance of white flowers. I do love my white flowers so for me this was a delight. The citrus notes are sweet and fresh, a lot like the citrus I enjoyed in such fragrances as Cartier's So Pretty. This scent, although not a dupe, reminds me of So Pretty. This has no orange blossom note but there is something similar in it: neroli. The neroli is what gives this scent it's freshness and sunny quality. It's a delicious spring breeze. Perfect for putting on after a shower when you don't want to wear something too bold or too spicy. It's sweet, delicate florals. The jasmine is not indolic, mysterious, Oriental or musky. It's just a bowl of jasmine petals. The gardenia is a nice touch and it's a vanilla sweet gardenia. The lily, also loving it. And iris has long been a favorite floral note of mine. The base is soapy clean with a lot of amber. This was not what I was expecting. But then again I'm not surprised it's not as dark as I wanted it to be. Floris in London create simple fragrances, not linear, but just simple and subtle nothing crazy, nothing multi layered. Just beautiful floral fragrances. This is very nice. At times it feels rather old fashioned and vintage. If you like white floral fragrances, this is a very good choice.

I bought this in London the last time I was there to visit an old acting coach of mine who had become a UK citizen. At that time about 2 years ago the UK was in a crisis regarding whether Scotland would remain with the UK or separate as an independent nation. The final vote was for Scotland to remain with the UK. I wore this amazing flower bomb fragrance in Edinburgh and it turned heads both men and women's. I hope they were turning their head because they liked it LOl yes this is a night blooming jasmine queen. She is very strong and lets you know she's in charge. But wait a minute. There are other flower queens in this parade: Violet, Iris, Rose, Gardenia. All these flowers are usually very fragrant, super strong. For whatever reason the jasmine scent surpasses them all but I can still get whiffs of the violet and gardenia, and to a lesser extent the rose. It's an old fashioned bouquet of flowers. This is from 1806 but it's been reformulated so that it can become a part of your 2016 body chemistry. It's so rich, so decadent so floral that I can only wear this once in a while. It did leave a trail or sillage and its just what I want in a wedding perfume but I'm still looking. Having fun looking. This one is number 1 on my list right now we'll see what happens. Short note, because sky76sky already reviews this very nicely... this is one of the very few NON INDOLIC jasmines out there. Nothing cloying, and perhaps the multitude of other flowers gives it freshness. There is a hint of sweetness that persists throughout the development, I don't sense much greens in here. Musk and cleanliness dominate the drydown. Classy, very elegant, without being very mature, this fragrance lacks a sense sensuality; like a young , beautiful woman that yet has no curves...nice to look at, nice to smell, but not too hug-able; very romantic! Sweet, soft, natural. Nevertheless, a great scent. The bottle and box are lovely. Silage is good, longevity excellent. I have the edp version, which comes with the pretty bow.

The opens as a gorgeous jasmine with - yay! - no indoles. It's creamy, fleshy and sensual. About an hour later, the violet becomes more prominent and it almost seems to turn into a haunting violet soliflore. The jasmine tempers the sweetness of the violet nicely. Then as hour later... it's gone. 2 hours is all I get from this in multiple times of wearing it. Those 2 hours are beautiful, but that's just not even close to enough longevity for me. If anyone else has this problem and is looking for a jasmine soliflore, I'd recommend Jasmine by Angela Flanders. It's pure non-idolic jasmine that smells exactly like the opening of this one, but lasts a lot longer.

Latex & Rubber....!!! The greeny jasmines mixed with the lily, musk, & ylang is forming a latex & rubbery essence! & i believe it could be as well the gardenia joining the mix shown above because the dried down is very latex and rubbery. I'm not sure that i can detect any narcissus in here but surely i can detect the mimosa, ylang, gardenia, green jasmines, definitely HUGE lily burst, violet leaves, & musky roses. I kind of had very high hope for this blend but it turned to be more of a lily than jasmines.

Like diluted in water night blooming florals. I get mainly jasmine but my partner said they could smell tuberose. The scent is narcotic and juuust on the verge of being a little (nicely) skanky and indolic. It feels a little reserved and understated but at the same time mysterious, quietly seductive and bewitching. The yellow florals are definitely also coming through on my skin giving the whole composition an almost balmy/buttery sensation in the drydown. I need to overspray this to get some oomph though.

I keep trying to fall in love with Night-Scented Jasmine, but it keeps falling flat for me. I can hardly detect a creamy jasmine note, it is very faint. The fragrance is rather faint, in general. A slightly peppery Lily note stands out to me most, and sometimes I think I sense linden but that could be the “green notes.” Overall, it’s a nice, simple mature floral perfume.

This is a clean, soapy, fruity floral. It is pretty and feminine. Soft sillage. It reminds me of some expensive shampoo. It could be a cousin of J'adore. They have this similar fruity floral base, but NSJ is a little bit more low key. I don't imagine anyone being offended by such a clean and pretty scent. I would buy a bottle but I already have 2 versions of J'adore.

Immense opening of slightly green fresh delicate fruit notes. Fades quickly to moderate Jasmin, amber, cedar, slightly acrylic sweet (like sweetness of Ylang). Ends woody, lily like and citrus peel (blood orange). Like but really have to work on the tenacity of this. I actually might pair it with something else that has better longevity.

The smell of southern Spain on a spring evening. Beautiful, intoxicating and romantic. Fades quickly into nighttime and a nice skin scent of violets and jasmine. Beautiful but brief.

An average quality Jasmine composition. You can have much better fragrances in the same vein at cheaper prices. Pleasant but ubsolutely unremarkable. Rating: 6/10
