Rude Oud

The opening is a moderately sweet berry-oud balanced with a very aromatic saffron. I’m used to saffron being spicy, in this case it’s effervescent and super aromatic, to the point that it gives an almost minty, airy quality to the composition. Though there’s no cypriol oil mentioned in the notes, I get a lot of that aromatic woodiness. Never in my life did I think I would ever put “crisp” and “oud” in the same sentence but this is a crisp, moderately fruity, clean oud. As the name implies, the oud is center stage; it is there from the first spritz but it is not a dirty or skanky oud. If you’ve smelled Sirene and liked the oud in that one, you will like this one as well. It’s a clean, woody oud that grounds the entire composition without being too overwhelming. The raspberry isn’t too sweet, it almost has a slightly sour quality to it, just as real raspberries aren’t always super sweet, think of a raspberry that’s just ripe and hasn’t gotten too sweet from being overripe. Through out the stages of the fragrance, the raspberry, oud and saffron remain balanced but prominent. The leather becomes more noticeable in the mid but thankfully, it plays more of a supportive role; it does not overwhelm the other notes. Toward the dry down the woodiness takes on a slightly bitter medicinal quality but not enough to be off-putting. Rude Oud is unisex but if you twisted my arm, I would admit it leans a teeny tiny bit feminine. It smells very sophisticated— I’m outchea smelling like somebody’s rich auntie from Dubai. 😆 I would say it’s definitely worth checking out. In a sea of super sweet foodie gourmand new releases flooding the market these days, this one is a welcome change. If you liked how Sirene developed/evolved, I think you will like how Rude Oud develops on the skin as well. I almost feel like this is some variation of Sirene with the raspberry replacing the cherry.

When I first tried Rude oud I was overwhelmed at how strong it was, have tried it the odd time but it’s been sat on a shelf since I got it in the Harrods fragrance advent calendar- anyway I thought I’d try it again and suddenly it’s beautiful. The oud is strong but smooth, I love the leather note and it is balanced out beautifully with the Raspberry- the longevity of it is phenominal. I can smell it on clothes for days and it lasts on skin for a good 12 or more hours. It is more masculine leaning to me but as a woman I’m going to rock this ( well maybe not for work). I’ve played around a bit and layered it with other Rasberry fragrances (Jo Malone Rasberry Ripple) with great success.

An easy wear for evening summer nights and wintery cold winds. The opening blasts you with a bitter raspberry and saffron. Around 5 minutes after application, the scent transforms with a gentle rose and musk. After 15 minutes, the amber counteracts the bitter and the oud adding a glistening touch. The transformation is similar to that of Sirene by FDB. An easy wear for all, definitely try the scent on the skin. It gives me Maison Crivelli Cuir infrarouge vibes but more refined, articulated and enhanced quality of ingredients. No cost spared for this exclusive launch. I do recommend. If you’re in harrods, give it a try.

I wasn’t lucky enough to get hold of a fragrance advent calendar so bought this for around £80 from a reseller. Wow this is strong stuff- opens with a tart Rasberry and a powerful leather-oud combo I don’t smell the saffron. Glad I got it for the price I did, too strong for me but in the dry down it does mellow out and become bearable. Scent is subjective for everyone, but this stuff leans very masculine in my opinion. I’m going to look in to pairing combos as I still want to use it. Longevity is around 8-10 hours on me.

The opening on this is powerful. This tart and jammy raspberry + potent oud. I enjoy this fragrance an hour or so later when the raspberry starts to become less prominent and the oud becomes this clean ''western style'' oud. Great blend. Would never pay full price for this though. Feels very masculine and has excellent performance. I do really get this metallic element in this fragrance and I love that in fragrances. Very happy with this from Harrods Fragrance Calendar. Bottle looks stunning too.

Beautiful bright raspberry, rose fragrance with a hint of oud and leather. It works well in every season, yes summer too! It lasts forever, it’s not offensive at all and it gets lots of compliments. I’m not sure what some people are smelling but I’ve literally never had a single person guess I was wearing anything with oud or animalic. Most people say it smells fruity, or like rose. I’m currently wearing it to bed with Brown Sugar Babe Madame body oil and Shalimar L’essence. It’s immaculate.

Mine came included in the Harrods 2025 advent calendar. You need a good ‘getting used to’ to like this fragrance but once you love it, you won’t ever turn back. It is bold and makes a statement prior to your arrival and you better not do anything sneaky cos this frag will give you up after you left the room and announce that you were there 😆.. a little bit too oudy so spray in good proportion. Dry down scent is the best and last conveniently for 14hrs+

Yes. Just yes. Fragrance Du Bois have mastered the dirty oud. I love this so much. I find it relatively similar to fragrances like The Moon by Frederic Malle, which I love, so no wonder this one is one of my favourites at the minute. The hype is truly deserved! Smell: 9.5/10 Performance: 8.9/10 Bottle/atomiser: 8.5/10 Overall: 9.4/10

Opens with a blast of berrys and saffron, After a few moments i smell a light leather accord. Once all dried you get berries with a sligtly dirty oud accord. I see the comparrison to the moon, but this is way less skanky. Compliment giver, great longevity and projection.

Very unisex it’s got that fresh Arabic saffron Oud vibe, mixed with Tuscan leather vibes. Interesting opening but one note here is strong and piercing which I don’t like. Wouldn’t say it’s redundant but hasn’t wowed, it’s nice and good initial projection.

Rude Oud is an excellent perfume, but not in the way most people understood it. It's not a great fruity oud for the evening, but a great light and fruity oud for daytime. Even in the heat, this perfume works well, very playfull. People misunderstood it.

A fantastic fragrance journey with clear phases evident as you wear it: from the fruity, raspberry top note, leathery rose middle and amber oud dry down. This lasted over 12 hours for me with ~4 hours of loud projection.

Divine opening that dries down to an unapologetic skanky oud. The namesake is incredibly fitting. The oud is slightly dirty, but not challenging at all. This is something I would wear when I want all attention on me.

If you're a collector this is a must get. 10/10 no question. Alluring, sophisticated, regal and elegant. just wow!!!!!

Absolute beast of a fragrance!!!

They called it Rude Oud, and I braced myself. I've handled raw deer musk, tinctured black ambergris, saffron that stains your soul, and oud so wild it could snatch your passport and flee to the mountains. I'm not new to funk, I'm used to the feral. So when I first sprayed this, I expected a punch in the face. What I got instead? A firm handshake in a cashmere glove. The opening is... unexpected. A sharp, acidic citrus blast, like those sour candy sprays kids used to weaponise their tongues with. It's bright, borderline offensive, but weirdly addictive. That shock fades quickly, making way for the core of the fragrance, where saffron, and refined oud begin to settle in. This is where Rude Oud reveals its true nature: polished, leathery, resinous, with a slow-burning confidence. There's power, but it's never obnoxious. No skank, no barn, no loud Hindi screech. This isn't a wild beast. It's the beast after grooming, dressed in black cashmere, leaning back quietly while others try too hard. Now, people online say this smells "animalic." Personally? Not even close. I work with real animalics, deer musk that hums behind your eyes, and black ambergris that clings to skin like a shadow. Rude Oud might growl in the base, but it's a controlled, urbane kind of wildness. A lion that's already eaten. Performance is excellent - 10+ hours easily with a soft, intimate sillage that lingers without loitering. It doesn't need to announce itself. It leaves impressions, not noise. In short: Rude Oud isn't rude. It's a restrained menace. Saffron that whispers threats. Oud with manners. A fragrance that doesn't chase compliments, it collects respect.

Just got my bottle today & anyone who says this leans feminine needs their noses checked. This is definitely an odd one but the name rude oud definitely fits. A bit medicinal in the beginning but the dry down on this is better than the opening... still a very odd one to describe but it is different & i usually love fragrances that go against the grain but this one's not for me cause it reminds me of Moon & Promise by Frederic malle but I'm not a fan of those either. The leather, amber & oud clashing with the raspberry is RUDE imo but definitely SAMPLE BEFORE YOU BUY THIS ONE. If you're into promise & moon by Malle you're going to love this one... Fragrance Du Bois quality, excellent performance and longevity with above average sillage.

Recently blind bought a 50ml bottle of this, because I like to live life on the edge. Its not as rude as some of these comments suggested, in fact im a little disappointed its not ruder! Opens with a raspberry note, and a western oud. Its quite simple, the rose isn't too feminine, and the leather isn't too biker boy. Projection is adequate, although I did only test with 1 spray this suggests to me 4 or 5 sprays with this might actually be plenty Safe blind buy if you like a more of a western take on oud, not that straight up anamalic stuff. Ill wear this most of the year too, feel like this could work well in the summer for some reason

Pleasant but familiar woody gourmand (think of a breezier The Moon) centered around a theme that is becoming familiarly likable in niche perfumery. The scent opens with prolonged notes of raspberry and saffron and moves to a brief heart of rose and leather before settling on a powdery base of synthetic musk accentuated by hints of oud and amber. Nothing new here but it works and it is happy and seductive. The unisex scent has moderate sillage and very good longevity and is priced very competitively for customers considering the original alternative. Enjoy!

Rude Oud opens up with this tangy, almost sour raspberry, along with a fresh leather accord. The oud is there, but it’s light and way, way in the back. I have to say, the fragrance definitely smells high quality and well refined—there’s something masterful about it, along with a certain charm. I still don’t know if I love it, but the more I smell it, the more it grows on me. In the late dry-down, I’m also getting Tom Ford Ombre Leather vibes.

I got this in the Harrods advent calendar - it’s not my usual choice. However, I do enjoy the leather and raspberry, even if the whole thing feels a Bit Too Much for me - definitely not an oversprayer. Good performance and staying power - I’ll keep it and wear it but I won’t rebuy it.

I sprayed this and it filled the entire room, like a fragrance bomb that went off. It's called rude oud for a reason. It's loud, borderline offensive if there are other people or it's a communal space and you spray it, and it's a sensory overloading fragrance. If you are heavily receptive to smells this is too much. It's like spraying a air freshener in your face when you sniff your wrist. Never spray this on your front if you plan on hugging anyone, as it sticks to them too, even hours later and it's nasal assault to the senses It's a very polarising smell. I personally think it does smell nice, I would rate it a 6/10. My partner said it smelled like petrol and sweat and I couldn't unsmell it after that. It does have a very synthetic screechy smell for. This lasts for 4 hours or more. Be warned This is not office safe This is not a mass appealing fragrance. This is a very unique occasion wear. Which is another reason I sold mine. There is no appropriate time to smell this, or spray it. It lasts easily 24 hours on skin. And I sprayed it on a coat four weeks ago and it still smells of it 😂 Lasted on tshirt that had four, yes I made a mistake here, four sprays on, it lasted after a wash At that point, no matter how nice it smells, you want it gone. It becomes a bit much. You'll miss that shower fresh feeling because it's still there Not a safe blind buy Not sure id recommend as I can't think of any scenarios this is appropriate. Not a clubbing fragrance, it's far too screechy

Not for me thanks.. got a full bottle in the Harrods calendar and not being a fan of Oud I’d hope this might be a good introduction.. get some fruits in the opening but nothing standing out in a juicy way. This is a dry Oud with leather and all a bit of a mess if I’m being honest. Best part of the wear is after about 4 hours it settles with a slight vanilla which softens out the screeching Oud and Saffron. Great bottle but won’t be keeping this and look to trade as soon as possible

I received this in my Harrods advent calendar and have tried to love it, really I have. I am just not a fan of oud fragrances and with the beast mode performance in this it’s just not a scent I can justify keeping in my stash as I just don’t reach for it. I’m passing it on to a new home where it will be loved hopefully

Wow but not in a good way it's like a cat has pissed on your new car leather seats and you have 50 different fruit air fresheners on the mirror it's really not pleasant. after 10 hours it has become quite a pleasant skin scent but what a mess at the start

Bought this new but not all full price. From the name I thought this would have been a very fruity scent with hints of oud, but this is one of the worst blind buys. It smells disgustingly chemical, like a floral air freshener with a bunch of fruits not well blended. The leather note in this does not work at all and is very prominent. I am now selling this as it makes me sick, would not recommend and is definitely not a safe blind buy.

its terrible, its only rude to you for how ugly and uncharecterstic it is they used oud rose leather fruit and saffron and blended them with a whole lotta lil bitch to somehow end up smelling like a neck beard this fragrance is a loser, a social reject despite being a nepo baby if this fragrance was a person it would be Elliot Roger

This is by far the worst FDB ever Made. Don’t blind buy this. No identity, nothing special. Smells exactly like the dishes shampoo.

I just picked this up. A beautiful blast of raspberry and saffron. It’s a typical sweet saffron that’s unique to fragrance du bois. It will smell like a few of their scents with how they used this note. There’s a lot of cypriol here giving the woodiness, this actually smells more like FM Promise than The Moon. Just swap out the apple for raspberry. It’s bright, airy and easy to wear. It’s not a thick or challenging scent whatsoever. The price is too low to have actual oud. Another scent I pick up that has similarities is Vanilla Oud by Vertus. The woody vanilla sweetness smells similar with the fruity notes up top. I’m a lover of leather and to be honest I don’t really get too much leather here. It’s all about the sweet saffron, cypriol and ambery notes with a floral touch of rose. I really enjoy how it smells due to it’s likability factor.

This is incredibly masculine to my nose... it’s a saffron and leather bomb in the opening. Quite screachy and if that’s what gives it its name sake I do agree, it’s rude. After 40-60 mins it does start to smooth out and become a more wearable oud and amber, the saffron remains. Unfortunately the saffron is such an assault the raspberry is lost in me. I’ve taken to layering it with a cherry chocolate perfume to calm the opening enough for me to make it to the mid. I think I’ll be selling/swapping my 50ml soon enough

I’ve mentioned it before, but I honestly have raspberry/leather/oud fatigue. However, Rude Oud is pretty solid and its crafted masterfully. A great choice for this note trifecta. It’s quite smooth and I don’t find it overly loud and harsh. The Oud itself isn’t synthetic, which is a huge win for me! This is surely worth a sniff, I’m really loving this. Side note: if another house were to release a similar fragrance in the near future I’m definitely going to roll my eyes haha.

Monstrous perfume. Arguably as strong as anything ever produced. For all the beast mode junkies this is a must have, one spray and you can kill cockroaches. As for the smell, HUGE raspberry accord that reminds me of the accord used in TFTL, the Oud is very western, not at all skanky and adds a woody backbone to proceedings. Not my jam, but for fans of TFTL or fruity woody frags it’s a solid option

Was quite underwhelmed by the “oud” tbh my nose doesn’t pick up on much of it unfortunately, maybe as I’m more used to verrry oud heavy/real ouds, I just found it to be a very sharp fruity scent. I like to layer it with Iberian leather by memo Paris to bring out a bit more animalic oud and darker leather and the contrast when layered is great.

Really nice fragrance from FdB. I don't like it enough to own it to be transparent, but it is very nice. Opens raspberry then slowly transitions to showcase more leather with a slightly medicinal oud in the background. Not unique, but nice. Sample first. Overall, to keep it simple, I get a less screechy and smoother Tuscan Leather.

I always found Tuscan Leather nice for as long as the raspberry was around, later it became too much for me with the leather. This one is more up my alley with the fruits staying for the entire journey. The rose makes it softer and accessible. A leather for daytime or fruits for the evening with great performance.

I really tried to like this one. It’s very bad. And I’m a oud, incense, myrrh and all the heavy stuff kinda guy. Still, this was unbearable.

When I see rassy and leather, I automatically think a TL variant. I like this DNA anyway so let's just give this a try sha'll we
