Chocola Addict

I'll be the one, 🙋🏾♀️. I love it! It's dark and dank and raunchy. It's like x xandal without a sweet vanilla to back it up. This is not blind buy worthy, this is not for the faint of heart. I adore this scent and wear it to bed because I know how much some would find it repulsive. Oh how I wish people could like it more so that I could wear it all day long. This is not a gourmand per se. The chocolate is a deep powdery cacao that takes no prisoners. Add in the resins and leather... It's incredible.

This is amazing stuff. Exactly what I expected and a little more. Definitely dark orange chocolate without the milkyness. The leather here is my biggest favorite, it's quite ashy, but the note doesn't open up, it's rather narrows down to a very dry, dark chocolate, almost cocoa powder-like scent. This dryness is balanced by sweet tangerine jam that lasts throughout the life of the fragrance. So beautiful, without being edible. I'm impressed by this.

Oh wow, this is offensively bad. Fucking hell. It's rancid crotch sweat and cocoa powder and I want to fill my sinuses with bleach to make it stop. I didn't think it could be so terrible and I was so very wrong. This is going in the perfume cupboard for a very long time and hopefully by then I'll have forgetten how gross this was and be able to ever spray it again. Edit: m a c e r a t i o n

While I do not love it, I can certainly appreciate this composition for what it is. That's dark, unsweetened, chocolate with some citrus at the top and a smoky leather combo at the base. It's strong, so strong it may be headache inducing. It has character. Quite dry. While it does have warmth it's not the nice kind of warm. Imho, this has some artistic quality. I rarely use it but I admire it when I do.

Got a sample of this. Initially I get a chocolate orange scent that doesn't last that long, the sharpness of the leather and incense comes through and in some time melts every note into something vague, pleasant, still sharp but a sweet kind of sharpness with chocolatey undertones. Not a gourmand, if you ask me, but I like it. Completely unisex. More of a night time scent.

When I saw a dark chocolate-based fragrance stirring up wildly mixed reviews, I had to try it for myself—so I grabbed a 10 ml decant. The most prominent note to my nose is wet leather, blended with a sweet yet sharp orange candy. In the background, there are whispers of cacao and something like a 98% dark chocolate bar. That wet leather note is especially striking—almost jarring. It smells like a leather jacket soaked through after getting caught in the rain. About 20 minutes in, it shifts toward something more like damp wood, still with some sharp smoky edges. I honestly don’t understand why French Avenue decided to release this. I’m not offended by it, unlike some others, but it really doesn’t come across as a finished, wearable fragrance. It feels more like an olfactory experiment than a perfume. Could it evolve over time? Maybe. I’ll keep testing my decant and will update if there are any significant changes. I've seen reviews online saying that it's inspired by xerjoff's Symphonium. I have no idea if that's correct since I have not tested that. But I strongly doubt that because based on fragrantica, that fragrance is described as creamy milk Belgium chocolate, has a fresh citrus note and reminds people of pink sugar! Chocola addict is not those things. 🤷🏻

Nose Note #947 I guess the best way to decribe it is - the smell of chocolate. Literally the smell of chocolate. It's not the best chocolate in the world, but it's chocolate. Like a cheap, but not the worst chocolate bar. It's not exectly dark chocolate, but it's not milky either, somewhere in the middle. If you think hard about it you can smell the subtle orange note in there. So it's in a way a Christmass candy bar with bits of orange. It is by NO MEANS a bad fragrance and it doesn't deserve a rating of 3.35 (as of 04/01/26). But I'd say it is very niche and very very gourmand. I can't say it's the most beautiful scent either. It is self-confident though. Not too playful. Unisex, maybe slightly leaning feminine. I don't see this on a man. Not strong, more like moderate. Moderate sillage. I'm not the biggest fan of gourmands. 6/10, decent, but I don't enjoy it

Acabo de probarlo y puedo decir que me recuerda mucho a Mugler Muse, es como si fuera un chocolate tipo avellana mezclado con cuero y algo aromatico como el incienso. No es un perfume fresco, ni tampoco para comprar a ciegas. Me parece un perfume de otoño, y un poco mas masculino. Si quiere comprar un perfume de chocolate mas gourmand dulce, creo que este no es el indicado. Lo que si me parece super unico.

To me it's like Black Sugar by Aquolina with intense citrus. Great quality,long lasting and projection.

Totally NOT a decadent chocolate smell, but weird smelling to me. I am not good in knowing what I am smelling, so what I perceive as herbal, maybe is incense/leather. If the chocolate was stronger, I would like it better. It is not a delicious gourmand, and a no for me. Maybe someone could like, but the name is misleading.

One of the worst fragrances I own. It is extremely piercing and makeuppy. I own "Dark Chocolate" by Gulf Orchid, which gets compared to this one: Dark Chocolate is wearable and okay, this is straight up unusable, I get the chocolate and mandarin but it's intolerable. I don't recommend buying it.

this smells so bad ugh, definitely not a gourmand. not what i expected at all. idk what it is but i swear i could smell lemongrass, and i don't like it. i was hoping for something similar to qissa delicious with more more chocolate

This is the most disgusting smell I have ever sniffed! Thank God I only bought 5ml, which I immediately discarded. It reminds me of an old man who wears the same leather jacket for 40 years, never washes it, and still has some awful chocolates melted into it. Please don't do that to your nose.

This smells so so gross .. I had to scrub it off my hand with soap... Nothing is sweet here if you were looking for a chocolate gourmand perfume you want to look elsewhere.. This is a strong leathery citrusy fragrance with remenance of powdered cocoa The name is a bit misleading here 😅

🤮 I can hand on heart say this is the worst smelling perfume I’ve ever bought. It’s absolutely disgusting, all I can smell is cigarette ashtrays. How anyone can like this is beyond me. However I should stop blind buying, I only have myself to blame!

This smells like leather jacket with dark cocoa powder. The opening wasnt that bad, it smells like cocoa powder with orange but after few seconds... I had to wash it off. I cant imagine somebody really likes it, this is sooo bad.

This to me smells like an orange tootsie pop and a bag of mixed nuts found in a leather purse. The incense and chocolate smell very earthy and give a very nutty feeling. Once it dries down, it's more enjoyable!

It smells like a leather chair display in a furniture shop, with some orange chocolate crumbs melted into it, dropped by an obese person who just left the seat after a 2hr power nap, in the summer without AC.

I don't like the scent; the chocolate note is lacking. The frankincense scent is actually the strongest part—it ends up smelling like premium massage oil, hahaha.

The notes look like a perfume I have wished for - chocolate orange! But the rating is 2.67 as of 2/26/25. Would someone like to elaborate on why there is so much dislike/hate for this one? Because when I saw the notes, it looked promising. I will check back. I am a clone enthusiast and have no shame about wearing dupes because it's just perfume, not a symphony or epic poem.
