Safari Breeze

I believe for a number of people this fragrance did an immense disservice to itself by not labeling it's notes accurately. I see so many people seemingly confused by what they are smelling because this is a guava heavy fragrance and it's kinda a crime to not list that even if people know it's a clone or inspired by a fragrance with a big guava note. The grapefruit hits in a way that makes it very similar to a tropical drink specifically reminiscent to me of the discontinued peach passion fruit refresher from dunkin, peach sweetness with the zesty tropical tartness of passion fruit. This has that intense tropical sweetness that guava has but the grapefruit gives it this twang that keeps it distinctly tropical but also adds this astringency, zesty, almost greenness that reminds me of how passion fruit or mango can sometimes hit. Don't want to judge people too harshly but I just think when you aren't super familiar with those fruits and you are unguided maybe you would be confused about what you are smelling. This is tropical in a somewhat more niche way than you would expect. Even the coconut is like a heavy disservice there's no heavy coconut vibe at all. It's like they just phoned it in and said yeah just put some tropical bullshit people will get it. But they don't. This isn't some pina colada or a fruit bowl with a few pineapple chunks this is basically a variety of non standard tropical fruits if you're unfamiliar with guava, passion fruit, and mango this will surprise you because this just slaps you in the face unapologetically hard with actual tropical fruits. The push this gives of that unique tropical edge is peak to me and I'm only slightly insulted to see people typing dumb shit cuz they've never tried like a guava cheese pastry or something.

Reading through the other reviews, Safari Breeze seems to be one of those fragrances that walks into the room and immediately starts a fight. Some people love it. Some people look at it like it just ruined dinner. Me? I enjoy it. Quite a bit, actually. There’s grapefruit in here. Black currant. Mint. Coconut. On paper, that sounds like somebody raided the tropical section of a hotel minibar and made questionable decisions. But somehow, it works. Together, those notes pull off something strange and unexpected: this almost phantom guava accord that isn’t officially listed, but absolutely feels like it’s there. You can sit with it and pick it apart if you want. Grapefruit here. Mint there. A little creamy coconut slipping through the back door. But at a quick sniff? Guava. Bright, juicy, slightly green, a little mischievous. And the layering? Phenomenal. This thing plays well with others. I don’t really get the “synthetic mess” complaint. Is the citrus photorealistic, freshly sliced, farmer’s-market grapefruit? No. Let’s not get stupid. But it doesn’t smell cheap or offensive to me either. It’s more like a stylized cocktail version of fruit: vivid, sweet, sharp, a little artificial in the way a neon sign over a beach bar is artificial. Not photo realistic. Still enjoyable, and you’ll always want more of it. Polarizing? Absolutely. But sometimes the weird bottle on the table is the one you keep reaching for.

I don’t know if it’s just me, but I strongly get Terre d'Hermès Eau Givrée vibes here, and it all comes down to that vetiver. I’m not a big fan of vetiver at all, so that already sets the tone for me. I’ve seen so many people hype this fragrance, but no one really mentioned how dominant that vetiver is. From the opening to the drydown, it’s pretty much all I smell, and not much else comes through. It didn’t live up to my expectations. That said, they’re not lying about the performance. This thing is a beast. And to its credit, it smells high quality all the way through, no harsh synthetic notes. In fact, it really reminds me of Terre d'Hermès Eau Givrée, which I actually like a lot. But my expectations were completely different. I thought it would lean more in a Vulcan Feu direction, with more coconut and citrus. Instead, it goes a totally different way. And I’m not even getting any mint here. Upd: I let it macerate for a bit and it's just wonderful, now it's my favourite go to fragrance that I use whenever I don't know what to pick, on par with art of Arabia 1,but I pick this one when I want to be a little more playful and better mood

Am i the only one who gets a blueberry muffin vibe from this? To me the black currant/grapefruit comes off as that in the opening. To me it feels like a dried-fruits type of smell which is honestly very refreshing to have in my collection as this is definitely one of the more unique scents ive smelt in a while. This is one of those fragrances that can be worn in the summer nights or days. It suits both occasions. I picked this up at burlington for 34.99$ 100% worth it as this is definitely one of my favorites for the summer as of now! I absolutely love this frag! Blind bought it and not a single regret. It's fresh, citrusy, tropical and woody at the base. Reminds me of Art of Universe but less sweet and less projecting, but it doesn't mean this is a weak performer. Totally worth your money if you like fresh fragrances for warm and hot weather! Also, don't pay attention to negative reviews on a 4+ star fragrance, especially when they share what they think the fragrance smells like, not an objective review. 4+ stars ratings for fragrances mean is a very good option to get. People just like to hate.
